Love the espresso martinis--my favorite in town! Great spot to come with friends and the food is also consistently good.

Customer service was horrible. I came tonight for a friends birthday, first night trying it was excited to try however we got here around 7 didn't get serviced til 9:02. Was ignored and overlooked. Once I finally talked to our waiter she stated that "we needed to order by 9:30 because the kitchen was closing at 9:30 and that she hope we don't want steak because they are out" then I stated that we had been there since 7 so that was unfair then we finally ordered cool. Friend wanted to order something at 9:25 was denied that saying that the kitchen was closed however was told prior that the kitchen closed at 9:30. Couple of friends went to the bar and was ignored too. When I finally talked to the waitress she said that it was because they were super busy however we were there when the crowd died down she still did not acknowledge us at all she threw some menus on the table and never came back, I had to find her . That's just very inconvenient and very distasteful. We were also the only minority not saying it is a race thing however it came across that way. I was way too excited to come and try this place out just to be ignored and looked over. Didn't get the experience I want it and this is very disappointing. read more

This establishment is great but if there is some sort of sporting event (a logical reason why people go to bars) there will not be a sound of sports game available, only the "DJ" is aloud to play sound over the speakers. So for example if there is an LSU vs. Alabama, UFC fight, saints game or an election you will be forced to watch the event with no sound and listen to the DJ's choice of music. ...no one wants to hear Cher while the tigers play Alabama ...this place needs to get a grip and read the room not be a profit driven bar. read more

This place wasn't what I expected but was definitely a vibe. The atmosphere was very relaxed and we enjoyed our time there. Food was a 8/10 everything we tasted was phenomenal. The only downside was the service. While super nice and friendly, our server forgot one entire entree and was slow to bring refills. He was apologetic and did everything to make up for the forgotten entree, and even took a drink off the bill that we didn't like. This bar/restaurant is on the pricier side so be prepared for that but the food was worth it. read more

This was my first time visiting Zee Zee's and I'll be back! Me and my friend went on a Tuesday or Steak night and we werent disappointed. It was also martini night and they were 8$ This place is located under the overpass on Perkins very ducked off I see how I missed it everytime. It's a very cozy vibe great for a date night or girls night out. We both order ribeye steaks and they were absolutely amazing. Cooked and seasoned perfectly. The asparagus could have been seasoned a bit more. The baked potato was also over baked and for some odd reason I didn't have bacon bits and my friend did. The gumbo was fantastic I wish I would've gotten a bigger bowl! The salad was simple yet delicious. It could've had more veggies and the cherry tomatoes could have been cut. I don't like having them roll everywhere trying to cut them on such a small plate. The drinks were amazing and don't owe me anything! read more

It was a random gas station stop in the middle of the night, maybe 2AM. Me and my friend had just gotten back in town from a night out in the French Quarter. There's a man in there that tells us to come out to this place called ZeeZee's the next night. It slipped my mind, but he seemed nice so I decided to check them out today. Looked up their menu online, and had my mind set on a drink I saw. When I got to the bar, I was greeted with the bar menu that did not feature the drink I saw online. When I asked the bartender about it, she mentioned the drink was from an older menu, but she would still make it for me anyway! That's the kind of great service I look forward to as a first impression! I haven't even gotten my food yet, but I am already eager to recommend this spot based off of their kindness alone. read more

A little dark and moody, but was still able to go with a toddler (we sat in a booth). Fairly empty, just a few people at the bar. Quick attentive service. My husband said his grilled chicken club was the best he's ever had, my turkey avocado burger was good as well. The espresso marinti with the beef nachos... 10/10! This bar has all of the vibes...booths, tables, bar seating with tvs, art, and dim lighting makes for a perfect drink spot. It was on the pricier side, but everything I had was delicious and very well sized. The martini was one of the best that I've had, and it was huge so I only needed one to be satisfied. The beef nachos were also a huge portion that I only put a dent in them haha. The drinks and food came out pretty fast too, and the waitress was great! The place is a little hard to find but I kinda like how it's hard to find. Makes it feel more secret right under the overpass. I will totally be coming back! read more

I've been able to visit a few times since ZeeZees made its return to the overpass area. I prefer the earlier/post work crowd as it is more professionals and a laid back crowd. The average age drops a few decades when it starts getting closer to about 9 and they have staff checking IDs. They have great bar food, burgers, and even salads and what not. They won me over with their newer Thursday promo - $20 Girl Dinner - a martini (with a lot to choose from), Caesar or House Salad, and truffle fries. I could eat that every day! Most recently, we went there for that special. Our server was wonderful - she was new, but she was on point and had all the ins and outs figured out already. We ended up with about 12 people and she took care of everyone quickly and was very attentive. And since espresso martinis are all the rage now, they really do make some of the best in town. I look forward to coming by for some post-work fun again soon. read more

The food was good. My daughter and her friend had cheeseburgers with sweet potato fries and I had the spicy vodka sauce pasta. The food was fresh and hot. Our server was helpful and the ambiance was on target for a sports bar/pub. The lighting was low with several Televisions to choose to watch. This is a very cute place to go, small and dimly lit. All of the food came very quickly. The cheese curds are good but the Nashville hot isn't very flavorful, more so just heat. The cubano is very good, along with the fries. The remoulade that came with the boudin balls are very good, and the boudin balls have a great amount of cheese in them. The grilled chicken sizzle plate is really good, very simple meal but delicious (especially when you add a little salt). The twice baked potato was the star of the show in my opinion! read more

Nice spot! I went on a Saturday around 3pm. It only had a few patrons. I seated myself at a booth and the waiter said he would be with me. He was friendly. I asked for a sweet mocktail and he offered me something he whipped up. It was delicious! I had the shrimp which were just okay. I also ordered a pretzel that I didn't really care for. It started out slow and then it got really busy in here later on to the night which seems to be a trend (if you wanna avoid a crowd come a little earlier in the day in my experience). The place is a little pricey for what I consider pub food but it is also near campus so I guess that accounts for the location. Overall the food was pretty good and we enjoyed it but I might pregame elsewhere as I don't think the drinks match the price tag. read more

Another spot we both agreed on, this spot is awesome! It's a small hole in the wall bar under the overpass I think I-10. They have the full bar to sit at with 3 TV's and they have a few tables (pictured) as well as some booths. Also, they do have a men's restroom the 2 ladies rooms is not a trick! They have so many eye catching menu items it's a little hard to choose. Had to get the loaded fries with roast beef and I think Swiss cheese...absolutely incredible! We also got the pepper jack boudin balls which are also very very good! They're smaller and have a good bit of cheese inside of them which is nice, it's actually not too bad being they're smaller, they're very tasty. Then we split the Nashville hot chicken sandwich and it was good. I personally wasn't crazy for the flavor of the sauce on the sandwich but overall the sandwich was good. The bread was good, the salad on it was good n fresh, the piece of chicken was a good quality piece and it came with a pickle spear. The fries are also really good. Our server was really nice too; the bill was $45 for 2 seasonal beer, 2 appetizers, an entree and a drink so that's not bad at all. First time here and it was fabulous. I had the shrimp with rice and broccoli and partner had the ribs with Zee potatoes and greens. Everything was fresh and absolutely delicious. It was a lot of food. Jacob was our server and he was phenomenal and spot on with recommendations and Zack also checked on us and brought out to go boxes! Happy Friday indeed, Zee Zee's is open at 11:00 am on Fridays. I cannot recommend this place more! Me and my friends decided to go to the power hour $5 espresso martini and we were not disappointed! Right when we walked in we saw that the place was packed and lively. Even though it was super busy we got our drinks super quick. Shout out to Ava at the bar she was so kind and really fast! This business has been around the Perkins Overpass Historic Area forever! It was across the street originally back in the 80's and 90's. It then closed and reopened in the old George's location, where it still sits. The ambiance is the same as when it was George's, which personally I love! It has the old dark wood bar, dark ceilings, great bar menu and friendly bartenders. They also have a nice outdoor space. Try them out or visit again! read more

We found our new favorite spot! The vibes and service was great with music playing and the food was amazing. The bar has a huge selection of alcohol. Chef Duke hooked it up on a DELICIOUS steak along with a perfectly cooked "dynamite burger". Both of our meals were perfect. Went to zee zee's this past weekend to celebrate a friend's birthday. We waited at the bar for quite a while for our turn to order drinks - no problem, since it was crowded on a Saturday night. The bartender served everyone in the area but didn't look our way even though he seemed free. I took out my card and was holding it in my hand, on the bar top, to show that we were wanting to order. He then passed a business card to me that said stop talking (even though I hadn't said anything?). I thought this was weird so I went to the other side of the bar to maybe have luck ordering there. Someone else in my party stayed trying to order from the aforementioned bartender. The bartender skipped her over to take orders from people who came up after us. My friend then said "are you really not going to take our order?" The bartender then proceeded to say, "no, you can go to the other side of the bar." Weird again!!! Now I usually wouldn't write a bad review - I don't care that much about things like this. BUT, it was a bit rude for 1 to the point where other bar goers asked if we wanted them to order for us because it was obvious the bartender had no interest. Then once we got drinks from another (lovely btw) bartender, the drinks just weren't good -- like we could not finish them not good. I get that they want a lot of people in the space, but it is so crowded we were packed in there like sardines. We went for the music, which was very good as usual but you can't even walk without having to squeeze between people, so there's definitely no room to dance! This crowd is every time I've been and it's getting to be tedious and suffocating. I think the place could do with a capacity limit, for the patron's and the staff's sake! read more

The atmosphere of the place was nice. The pasta that they said was a specialty lacked flavor and was not worth the price. Specific order requests were not fulfilled- for instance no tomato on the sandwich was requested however a tomato was on there. My son ordered cheese fries without jalapeño but they came with jalapeños. The receipt indicated that the waiter rung up the changes but the kitchen did not follow through. Additionally, our waiter did not come back to check on our drink refills despite there only being one other table than ours. We travel through Louisiana a lot and won't be coming back. read more

We enjoyed the pizza rolls as an appetizer and recommend. The Cubano was good, while it's not the very best that I've ever eaten, it was still good. The french fries were amazing - seasoned and just the right crisp on the outside while still soft inside. My husband got some kind of a club sandwich and potato salad and they were okay too. It was extremely loud in Zee Zees so we could hardly hear each other talk but to be fair, it was a Friday evening and the acoustics were lousy when it was George's too. I had the smoke show burger and overall it was pretty good, could've used a tab more spice to the patty itself, but other than that it was great. Been to Zee Zee's twice now and my impression is that it really wants to be a good place. Pretty good menu and if they can get the cooking right, it will be a slamming place. My last time there I got the Cubano with Zee Zee's fries. Was anticipating an explosion of flavor from this classic but it may as well been a mustard sandwich. It had all the expected ingredients, but was so overpowered with yellow mustard there was no tasting the meat, or even the bread. My wife had a chicken dip sandwich which was much better than mine, and she ordered the crispy green beans as the side, but they brought the fries,which are very good BTW. Our server brought out the green beans later and they could be a good thing, but these were so overloaded an odd spice and salt that we didn't care for them. Brought them home, washed off, then air fried...much better. Zee Zee's is a bar/kitchen place so it's a bit loud but can be festive on game days. Hope it makes it. read more
