    Cheese Curds
    John L. H.

This might be my favorite casual meal in Baton Rouge for 2025. Since George's closed I havent found a reason to be in this area. It was too painful for me to not be driving here to get jalapeno cheese fries, a burger, and putting a dollar on the wall. But damn, this place has cured me of that sadness. I am disgusted that I had not been here sooner. We arrived during the lunch rush but were able to sit at a high top in the bar. The place is small so you may have to wait. It will be worth it. We started with some cheese curds. I cannot accurately convey how amazing these were. I have no idea what kind of cheese it was, what they did to make it so great, or how ranch added an additional wow. Trust me, get these. They are awesome. The burger, oh the burger. This is likely the best burger I have ever had in BR. If you are a burger fan, you must ad this one to your list. I haven't had every burger in BR but I have had a few. This one is the tops. Great patty, cooked perfectly to order, juicy, and super flavorful. Service was friendly but slightly slow which was likey due to the lunch rush. Parking is under the overpass and a little muddy at times. You will be fine. Come here. You won't be disappointed.

This is definitely a first time experience. First the parking is actually under the overpass, but the scene is very vibrant. Excellent service with a smile, and it got busy quickly as it was game day for LSU, great bar which I believe that's why most were there, but in a good way. The truffle fries as a starter came with two dips, garlic aioli, and ketchup, they were crisp and the shredded Parmesan enhanced the taste. The shrimp tacos were very nice, good portion and shrimp was plump and delicious, but the star was the pork belly buns, great flavor with char the bun was sweet and matched the savory perfectly. Loved the vibrant atmosphere, and will be back for the Sunday brunch.

We visited the Overpass Merchant to plan a party over lunch. We sat on the patio because it was an absolutely beautiful day. Our server was very polite, however not very attentive and we almost had to seek her out a couple of times. The cheese curds were amazing as always. Unfortunately, I did not care at all for the shrimp tacos. I was a bit disappointed because this is not the experience I have grown to expect.

Went for Sunday brunch as it was one of the only places open at 9am. Super cute inside, and our waitress was nice but not great. Food was good, biscuit was bleh, and parking was interesting. Ordered: Sunrise fries: so much flavor and really loved. The sausage gravy is amazing The honey chicken cheddar biscuit: the biscuit had absolutely no flavor. It was fine cause we paid extra for the sausage gravy and just smothered it with that. But if you didn't, you may be disappointed Parking Really considered giving it a 3/5 for this, but this could be new user error. We parked under the overpass, and it had rained the day before. It's gravel, so there were a ton of potholes and pools of water. I was very scared driving out of it in my car. Just be warned if you have a small car, parking may not be amazing

Great brunch spot. It's locates literally under an overpass. Lol. Their specialties are these huge sandwiches on biscuits. I loved the spicy pineapple margarita..it was a little sweet and had a kick. The shrimp and grits had nice flavor. I like my grits a little creamier but that's just me. My chicken sandwich was huge! I will admit that I thought the biscuit was a tad bit dry. Overall a good experience with a variety if interesting menu items.

The food and drinks were good. Service was well and server was very patient with us. The only tiny issue I had was that it's a very small restaurant. Not enough room for private conversations and everyone is kind of elbow to elbow. Other than that, I will be visiting again. Good was extremely delicious.

All really good. Apparently Mondays is trivia ight which is fun! Always sub fries for those lovely truffle fries. Everyone enjoyed their meals and the margs are great. If you're a ranch girl like myself, their homemade ranch is fire

Always love coming to the overpass for good drinks and the cheese curds! Wasn't super impressed with brunch today, the biscuit was a little dry and the chicken wasn't up to par as it usually is

The food was really good and came out super fast! We got the brussel sprouts, burger, and kale Caesar salad. We loved the ambiance of the place.

Cute little restaurant with a charming atmosphere. Our waitress was incredibly friendly, adding to the pleasant experience. It was quite loud inside, which made conversation a bit difficult. The food came out in a reasonable time. The fried green beans weren't to my taste, but I can see how it can be a fan favorite for others. The burger was delicious and perfectly cooked. However, the French fries were overcooked for my liking. Overall, a decent spot for a meal with good service.

I was able to come back again for brunch and it was absolutely delicious. No brunch would be complete without their orange juice.

    Is this restaurant Vegan friendly?

There are several items where you can just skip the cheese or aioli dip for vegan friendly (salads, truffle fries, broccoli and cauliflower). I've had the fries and broccoli/cauliflower, very DELICIOUS!

I ordered the Stuffed Blueberry Biscuit and requested just a half order of 1 instead of 2 and I'm glad I did. It was a lot going on for just one! The biscuit is cut open-faced and slathered with cream cheese and blueberry pie filling then dusted with powdered sugar and dolloped with whipped cream. It was like a cross between eating blueberry pie and blueberry cobbler. The next time I stopped in I ordered the Apple Stuffed Biscuit and it wasn't as good as the Blueberry. I think the Apple one would probably be better if the filling was eaten warmed. I have also tried the Beignets. I ordered a half of each type. The plain was not so great. Just too doughy and blah. The Sweet Potato was better, but I would still rather get the Stuffed Blueberry Biscuit. The sausage patties are made with Mild Jimmy Dean sausage so they are good too - better than the Bacon. The Pancakes are okay too if you aren't in the mood for the Biscuit. The Reese's one was overly sweet and the Pecan was messy and on the drier side but syrup fixed that.

She specifically wanted a burger from an expert Burger establishment and knows this place well and its reputation for great burgers, which is why I'm a bit disappointed to leave this review tbh Long story short, her burger that was ordered medium rare, first comes out basically well done or medium well at best. She is one of those people who would literally eat a raw burger vs an over cooked one, so she is forced to send the over cooked dry burger back asking for once again medium rare. I mentioned to the waitress to that my friend would prefer an under cooked, rather than over cooked burger. so if anything the cook could err on the side of rare. Well he sure did err on the rare side. The burger comes out the 2nd time...and its raw. No way it was even rare. I eat rare burgers, no way I would eat that. Tell me you can't cook a burger without telling me you can't cook a burger. I mean just because you miss the mark cooking it the first time dont compound the problem by sending the next one out wrong in the opposite direction. Great atmosphere and service. Very surprised about the cook being unable to cook the burger to order as requested. Several trips here that have been great so I'm going to be generous here today and give them four stars.

The pork chop was cooked perfectly. It was juicy, incredibly tender, and honestly tender enough to cut with a fork. It had a great char from the grill that added so much flavor, and the pickled peppers on top cut through the richness of the pork perfectly. The dirty rice underneath reminded me of my mom's rice dressing and soaked up all the juices from the chop. It was one of the best pork chop dishes I've had. My wife ordered the smoke fried chicken, and it was also excellent. The crust was crispy while the chicken stayed juicy and flavorful. The sweet potato biscuits were light and delicious, and the pepper honey tied everything together nicely. For my taste, it leaned just a little on the sweet side, but it was still a very enjoyable dish. My daughter ordered the Social Cheeseburger with just meat and cheese. I'm aging out of late night shows, so I took a pass on seeing Kings of Leon, Raye, Stephen Marley, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Blind Boys of Alabama, and Cowboy Mouth. Instead, I headed toward Frenchmen Street, and the Three Muses. The musicians from Bad Penny Pleasuremakers were setting up as I arrived around 6 p.m. By the time my drinks arrived the band was in full swing mode. Mills at the bar took my order - beef bulgogi ($16), a bottle of PBR ($5), and a Maker's Mark neat ($10) did the job. I paid at the bar and took the number letting the server know where to deliver the meal. The band kicked in, and I was transported to heaven.
