My family and I are regular patrons and have never been disappointed by the food or service. One of my kids is super picky and this is usually her first choice when deciding where to eat as a family. Last night I ordered the salmon salad and OH MY GOD - that may have been the most delicious salmon filet I've ever had. It was perfectly seasoned and cooked to my preference. I usually order the tuna salad, which is also excellent. Last night I made a couple modifications to my salad (no candied pecans and no sugarcane vinaigrette), but when I received my plate I noticed the fresh berries and cheese were also missing. I mentioned it to my waitress and she immediately acted to fix it. I had my plate back in maybe two minutes. Things like that sort of go with the territory when you start requesting modifications, so I didn't blame her at all. Will be back. Always! read more

When you boil it down, it doesn't matter who's in the kitchen or how nice the chairs are. The basic contact a diner has with the place is the server. And ours was a pitiful excuse for one. The chicken wings were OK ( BWW is better at a lower price) and the burger was OK ( but WalkOns is better) and the fries were straight from a bag. We were at a round table with a total of seven persons. The server took the food order from one couple and left...... After a while their food arrived, some kitchen person brought it out. After a long wait, the server came back and took the second couple's food order and started walking away. My wife spoke up and got her attention and asked if she'd take our food order. Her response was, "Sure, make it quick". At some point my wife needed a refill on her drink, a cola. Eventually, the server came by and we stopped her and told her. She never asked anyone else at the table if they might also need a refill....and when she brought the cola she reached OVER two people to hand it to my wife. Later yet, we managed to get her attention and asked for a refill for me.....and when she brought it, she reached OVER two other people at the table instead of simply walking around the table and handing it to me or placing it on the table. Waited a while on a busy Friday night (45 ish minutes). I think they might've been slightly under staffed but all in all we had a good experience for our first time eating here. Our waiter Reed was polite and efficient with our order. Food came exactly as we ordered it and drinks stayed full, one thing I look for when being served. My burger (Casual Cow) was an excellent medium and seasoned well, fries were good too. Parking was a tad small but not unreasonable, while it looks like a bar vibe it's somewhere I'd be happy to bring family and friends. There was a good bit of room between tables as well. The last possible con if you will is the single bathrooms (that we saw) were small and definitely not for more than one person at a time (at least for the men's room) We'll definitely be back for the food and service **** very good read more

Yall had one chance to make a first impression and TOTALLY blew it! We sat down and ordered relatively quickly: ONE burger & fries my wife and I were going to share. Not only did tables that got sat AFTER us get served BEFORE us, it wasn't until we noticed that the server broke the news. " Our system was down so others will be served before you" was the message - not a sorry, not a Manager delivering the news. When asked how much longer it'd be, the server couldn't even answer but said "I'll TRY to get a Manager." It was LITERALLY a scene out of a movie. Bare in mind, this after having waited PATIENTLY for 45 minutes... shame on me for allowing this but, WOW - BAD experience. Incidentally, playing freaking RAP music on a SUNDAY afternoon is probably not the best answer to ambiance. Ordered the "jumbo wings". I've had bigger flats and drums at Popeyes. These things weren't small, they were tiny! I paid $16.50 for 10 of them by the way and it only came with 1 ranch. It's always a treat to stop and have lunch with friends here. We enjoy sharing multiple appetizers. Highly recommend brussel sprouts and nachos. But you can't go wrong with any of them. My personal favorite is chicken livers with pepper jelly. It's a beautiful, relaxing place to enjoy a meal mid day. Finally was able to come visit the new location. It's so crazy this used to be the old Catfish Charlie's (the building). They did an amazing job revamping this place. I love the decor it's very fitting; lots of space with lots of tables. I love they kept the walk around porch outside to feed the turtles and fish. The menu has some new items added on and I love that! Staff at the front was friendly, our waitress did a decent job, all our food came out in a timely manner tasting great. Portion sizes are great to price as well. Today I ordered the Peppered Heifer with Kobe beef and it was cooked to a perfect medium rare and was delicious. My kids had the kids grilled cheese meals and there were no complaints on their end. Definitely love their burgers! read more

Dinner at Blackened Brew was excellent per usual. Husband had the BOTM - southern Seoul cowboy burger and I had the WTF burger with truffle garlic fries. AMAZING!!! the fries were probably my favorite but the burgers were made to perfection. Beer from deadbeat brewing was fantastic! I loved the IPA and peach cider and husband loved the brown ale. Atmosphere is great and our waiter, Reed, was such a sweetheart and very knowledgeable about the menu / drinks. 100% recommend! read more

Small restaurant in downtown Hammond. I got lucky and parked directly in front of the restaurant (it's street parking here). We stuffed our party of 8 in the corner booth! It was pretty good. Egg roll appetizer was amazing.. it came with a sauce that is literally the best sauce I have ever tasted!! Can't lie, I would 100% buy a bottle if they sold it. Spinach and artichoke dip appetizer was not so great.. it was runny and some of the spinach you couldn't chew all the way. First time to BB last night with my wife. Great ambiance and feel to the place. Staff were very responsive and attentive. We ordered the SOB fries and Brussels sprouts as apps and WOW....both were amazing! They have quite a few craft burgers and my wife ordered one of these. I'm less adventurous and ordered what, relatively speaking, would be "just" a burger. Anything but just a burger my friends! One of the best burgers I have had. Fries were super crunchy and seasoned just right. Had banana fosters cheesecake for dessert and it was very good as well Last but not least was a very impressive selection of craft beer and sampling is allowed. I would highly recommend trying a couple as we did and each have a new favorite brew. Games and UFC on multiple big screens throughout and afterwards they had a live band that killed it on covers. Owners were visible throughout the restaurant assisting staff and interacting. Overall, amazing experience and I would highly recommend it to anyone. We will definitely be back! read more

I am so disappointed in what happened to us tonight at Blackened Brew. We spent over 100$ on a meal and once we finished and paid we were talking with our friends for maybe 10 minutes. The place was maybe 1/3 filled and there was a group at the table behind us talking but the manager walked over and interrupted our conversation and asked us to leave. She interrupted us and said we have a reservation and asked us to leave. There were empty tables all around us and the adjacent room was completely empty. It was the rudest thing I've ever experienced at a restaurant. I'm very disappointed and the couple we were with was shocked by this. I won't be going back there and wouldn't recommend it since you are pushed out immediately after you pay. read more

He was hoping to get a taste of their craft beers but unfortunately the refrigerator had shut off and they were waiting for it to cool off again.
