Waited a while on a busy Friday night (45 ish minutes). I think they might've been slightly under staffed but all in all we had a good experience for our first time eating here. Our waiter Reed was polite and efficient with our order. Food came exactly as we ordered it and drinks stayed full, one thing I look for when being served. My burger (Casual Cow) was an excellent medium and seasoned well, fries were good too. Parking was a tad small but not unreasonable, while it looks like a bar vibe it's somewhere I'd be happy to bring family and friends. There was a good bit of room between tables as well. Finally was able to come visit the new location. It's so crazy this used to be the old Catfish Charlie's (the building). They did an amazing job revamping this place. I love the decor it's very fitting; lots of space with lots of tables. I love they kept the walk around porch outside to feed the turtles and fish. The menu has some new items added on and I love that! Staff at the front was friendly, our waitress did a decent job, all our food came out in a timely manner tasting great. Portion sizes are great to price as well. Today I ordered the Peppered Heifer with Kobe beef and it was cooked to a perfect medium rare and was delicious. Dinner at Blackened Brew was excellent per usual. Husband had the BOTM - southern Seoul cowboy burger and I had the WTF burger with truffle garlic fries. AMAZING!!! the fries were probably my favorite but the burgers were made to perfection. Beer from deadbeat brewing was fantastic! I loved the IPA and peach cider and husband loved the brown ale. Small restaurant in downtown Hammond. I got lucky and parked directly in front of the restaurant (it's street parking here). We stuffed our party of 8 in the corner booth! It was pretty good. Egg roll appetizer was amazing.. it came with a sauce that is literally the best sauce I have ever tasted!! Can't lie, I would 100% buy a bottle if they sold it. Spinach and artichoke dip appetizer was not so great.. it was runny and some of the spinach you couldn't chew all the way. First time to BB last night with my wife. Great ambiance and feel to the place. Staff were very responsive and attentive. We ordered the SOB fries and Brussels sprouts as apps and WOW....both were amazing! They have quite a few craft burgers and my wife ordered one of these. I'm less adventurous and ordered what, relatively speaking, would be "just" a burger. Anything but just a burger my friends! One of the best burgers I have had. Fries were super crunchy and seasoned just right. Had banana fosters cheesecake for dessert and it was very good as well Last but not least was a very impressive selection of craft beer and sampling is allowed. I would highly recommend trying a couple as we did and each have a new favorite brew. Games and UFC on multiple big screens throughout and afterwards they had a live band that killed it on covers. Owners were visible throughout the restaurant assisting staff and interacting. Overall, amazing experience and I would highly recommend it to anyone. We will definitely be back! read more

I am so disappointed in what happened to us tonight at Blackened Brew. We spent over 100$ on a meal and once we finished and paid we were talking with our friends for maybe 10 minutes. The place was maybe 1/3 filled and there was a group at the table behind us talking but the manager walked over and interrupted our conversation and asked us to leave. She interrupted us and said we have a reservation and asked us to leave. There were empty tables all around us and the adjacent room was completely empty. It was the rudest thing I've ever experienced at a restaurant. I'm very disappointed and the couple we were with was shocked by this. I won't be going back there and wouldn't recommend it since you are pushed out immediately after you pay. read more

Clearly - the burgers are the headline act here so - if you're a gourmet burger snob - you need to get over here. Like yesterday. A number of choices had me trapped in a sea of indecision when - after I consulted with our server - she pointed me in the direction of a burger with - I'm not kidding - peanut butter and jelly and bacon - among other things. And the clouds parted, and a ray of light highlighted my choice. I wrangled with my skepticism and finally ordered what is absolutely the best burger I've had this year. Maybe even last year too. Oh my gosh. Now I have a SERIOUS dilemma because WHEN I come back I will be torn between getting that again and venturing out to try another intriguing possibility. The one plus about this place was the great draught beer selection. I was able to customize my flight on how many and what size. The food was not great. The artichoke dip was good, but the menu was so small. There wasn't really anything else I wanted to try. My sister got some chicken strips. They were over cooked and not enough sauce. Passing through town, we found BB online. Our server's boyfriend was enjoying his dinner and that was her prime focus. It was late on a Monday, so I don't really fault anyone on the service. As for the food? It's called Blackened Brew, so I figured the kitchen understood the concept of Blackened. I ordered a blacked tuna salad with extra blackening seasoning while requesting the meat be served medium. Unfortunately, the extra blackening translated to the kitchen as "cook as much as possible" and I was served an inedible piece of fish.
