This was so good to meeeee. lol My sister and I with our littles met up in the area for some shopping n found this place. We almost gave up on trying to eat here because parking was terrible. It's located in the downtown area and we circled the area several times before finding a parking spot. We got inside and were immediately greeted and seated. We looked at the menu and decided we'd try as much stuff as we could so sharing was the best option. Wings, egg rolls, shrimp, smoked Gouda soup, kids chicken tender meal. We wanted to try an actual entree but knew it wouldn't get touched. Everything was amazing, except the egg rolls were just decent they were just cheesy. Even their house ranch was good. The chicken tenders were big and seasoned to perfection. Too bad my kid is picky, I had to eat it for her. we both got mules from the Mardi Gras menu and they were pretty good. Food was good, but the service didn't align with their hospitality standards. Each table receives a sign that says, "You'll be hearing from one of our managers shortly. It's part of our hospitality promise." My server confirmed that every table receives a sign at seating. I wasn't given one, which initially didn't matter, but the inconsistency became apparent when the manager overlooked my table entirely. Even without the sign on my table, she should have still stopped by if that is their standard, so it's no excuse. She sat in the bar area from the time I walked in and throughout my entire visit, spending her time on her phone and laughing and joking around with the other employees. This wouldn't have been an issue had she been able to fulfill her managerial duty. The manager visited the table next to me twice but never acknowledged mine, even though I had been sitting there first and was one of only two tables occupied in the section. Unfortunately, she made eye contact multiple times but never greeted me or checked in. For a restaurant that highlights a personalized manager visit as part of the experience, this inconsistency was disappointing and unprofessional. I had planned to return, but the lack of genuine hospitality changed my mind. On a positive note, my server Trent was excellent. He ended up ordering a second one to share with our aunt Our aunt and uncle shared the chicken and red velevet waffles. I tasted the waffle. Out of this world. Mike had the voodoo egg rolls. Mike said they were really good. I had the buffalo chicken salad. Generous amount of chicken. I subbed grated cheese for the feta. Very happy with my choice. My only complaint is that while the high ceilings are nice, it is SO noisy and if you have and hearing issues (me) or if loud noise makes you anxious, be prepared to suffer for good food. read more

Cold 41 dollar steak! Under cooked , cold and tasteless 41 dollar steak!!!! When i dine in at The District I normally I get the ribeye and it's delicious , not sure what happened with the cook last night 7/22/25 but the steak was horrible ! Really liked this place! The building and interior is vintage cool. The service was very good. Full bar with signature cocktails. Nice menu choices ranging from a full app menu, sandwiches, seafood, salads, and chicken & waffles. We tried several things and they were all delicious! The chicken & waffles were great (I had mine without the sriracha honey butter), the Nashville Hot Sandwich (paired with fresh fruit & fries) was also great. The Brussel sprouts were divine, and so on. The Martini flight was quite enjoyable and again the service was excellent. But the other star here had a the building and it's furnishings! The place is large, as it expands back to another 2 section sitting area and then into a deliciously cute Coffee Bar! The decor is gorgeous! Picture wall and all! I ordered the voodoo egg rolls that were very nasty and switched out for the bacon wrapped shrimp and had the Ched special mahi w grilled shrimp n Gouda grits. Heard mixed reviews about this new place located in Ponchatoula so I decided to give it a try. For appetizer we had the voodoo egg-rolls and they were amazing I would give them a 5/5. For my entry I tried the Queso fries, my only issue with the fries is that there were dry and had little to no Queso on there I brung this up to my waitress and she kind of brushed me off and said it was mixed in. My other guest tried the shrimp fried rice and chicken pasta and they really enjoyed it. The drink I had was amazing. Overall there's not really much on the menu to try. I would return but only for the drinks not much else caught my attention. read more

I was a little underwhelmed. personally, my food was good but i didn't particularly like the seasoning on the julienne fries very much. my boyfriend is a mac and cheese fan and he found the cheese sauce to be a bit too liquidy, which was unfortunate. our server was kind and accommodating, which was appreciated. while we dined, my boyfriend and i tried to play i spy with all of the different little quirks of the building. it truly is gorgeous in there snd super clean as well. i loved the no-phone policy. i think it made me unplug and be more present, which is always appreciated:) the drink menu looked nice, but i'm still a bit too young LOL. overall, it was a bit expensive but not too bad. i'll have to return when im 21! read more

Ordered their steak and was cooked to perfection, and their salad, which was a simple salad was one of the most enjoyable ones I've ever had. Great atmosphere, piña colada was also perfect. I've steered clear of this place because I was a little bitter about the corner cafe closing. My wife wanted to try it out, though, so we dropped in for valentines Day. The food was good. The egg rolls are very tasty. The shrimp and grits were good, as well. The real stars of the show, though, were the employees and the drinks. Our waitress and the gentleman delivering the drinks were both all smiles, great personalities. We tried the old fashioned, the deja brew, and two of the valentines cocktails. The drinks were good. The old fashioned tasted real good, but they use cubed ice so I had to finish it pretty quick. The deja brew was a show, the guy brought a blow torch to our table and smoked the rosemary right there. Went for Mother's Day yesterday and was pretty excited to check it out. This after getting NO reply from the Instagram page and calling numerous times to finally get through and talk to a live human being. This person told me there no reservations being taken (which wasn't completely true) and that it was pretty much first come , first serve. When we get there a bit after 11:30ish or so, I get asked if I had made a reservation. Seems they were taking them but then stopped. Ok fine, we were an 8-topper and decided to wait which were told could be up to 40min+. That wait ended up being only around 20 mins or so that was great. We ended up sitting in one booth even though two were set up for us. So for the food, 3 in my party ordered a variety of the buffalo chicken, which just ended up being too spicy for anyone to really put up with. There should have been a warning associated with it or a spicy level for patrons to be able to choose from. The skirt steak from what I was told, had a good taste but from what I could see was definitely NOT worth the $30 it was being priced at. It was just a small, thin slab that looked more like a kid's meal! My wife ordered the salmon which she said was cooked through but the outside was too well done. My ceasar salad definitely was not what I was expecting and had what I believe pico de gallo in it?!? I do not eat meat and they managed to discount the price from my 'cajun spice' pasta but it was just more of a kicked up 'mac & cheese' than anything with a cajun spice appeal to it. The chocolate mousse was ok but not $12 for a little sliver that you get. Overall, it might be better to come for a boozy brunch and enjoy the scenery. However, for it being Mother's day, yea the restaurant did NOT live up to my expectations. read more

Terrible! we had an 8 top, waited over 30 minutes for a drink, two of us, myself included never got our food despite repeatedly asking the server where our meals were over a two hour period. Those that were fed said it was average at best. one star as no star is not an option. The Brussels sprouts were amazing and had a sweet flavor to them, but the standout dish for me was the Cajun Shrimp pasta - it was rich, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying. I also tried a strawberry mojito, which turned out to be the best I've ever had. I am originally from Atlanta so this was a delightful new experience for me. To cap off the evening, we indulged in a blueberry crumble cheesecake for dessert, which was equally impressive. I have eaten here several times and enjoyed more things than I disliked. I love the salads, the lunch steak, the hamburger, and the parmesan broccoli. I do not like the grilled cheese on cornbread or the shrimp fried rice. The soups could use tweaking, too. Service is always good and I looking out the windows while I eat. read more

Tell me how y'all feel about this... I'm black and I'm wondering if I just experienced a bit of racism at this restaurant, The District in Ponchatoula, LA. Let me paint the picture.. My boyfriend and I walk into the restaurant and notice that weren't many people there for a Friday evening. Nobody at the bar and only 3 sets of couples eating at a table. Meaning to say there were many open tables in the front facing the street near the windows, however, we were walked to the back where there was no view of the outside at all and there we sat alone and enjoyed our food. Noone else was brought back to that area while we were there. I found it odd that we were never given an option but dismissed it at first and we just enjoyed our meals alone as were eating our appetizers, entrees and several cocktail drinks. The food was outstanding btw. So we pay, then leave.. upon leaving I notice that the place is completely packed with caucasian couples and there's now ppl at the bar. A white couple was coming in right then, without reservations, and were given an option of whatever was available in the front. It was then that began to grow really uncomfortable, borderline depressed, because to me it felt racial. Like was this what my grandparents and great grandparents felt like. Or maybe there's an explanation for it. I just know it didn't feel good. So did I just experience a bit of racism at this place? Were we intentionally set in the back from being around the rest of the crowd because we are black? As the place began to fill, with only white people up to that point, why wasn't anyone else seated in the back just as we, the only black people were? Make it make sense or am I not tripping? giving them 2 stars because my feelings are valid. read more
