Deep fried soft shell crab - incredible!

Great place, great cocktails, and wonderful Chef! It is a fancy place with a down home feel and farm to table was very fresh!

Filet mignon with amazing dauphinoise potatoes.

Came for dinner at the bar- Katie, the bartender is amazing. She made me a pre dinner cocktail- And they're off- a delicious lemon-blueberry martini. Then I had fried oysters- which I scarfed down. Soooo good. That was followed by the filet- melt in your mouth tender. Friendly atmosphere and wonderful food and service.

    Skirt steak & cauliflower

The food is delicious, the service friendly and helpful with wine recommendations; and the unassuming building houses a wonderful dining experience. We had salads, appetizers, skirt steak with the cauliflower, and dessert. Salads could definitely be shared, but our entrees were right sized. Highly recommended for out-of- town guests like me, but it appears to be a popular local spot. Dinner is not served until 5, smaller menu before that time.

Food and service were great!! The restaurant was on the smaller side but that didn't bother us at all. I was impressed with the experience.

Love this little gem. The roux burger is a must try. Duck fat fries are amazing and they have the best bar tender on the North shore.

We have our favorites on both sides of the lake, but I recently read some great reviews somewhere online about Crazy Pig Southern Kitchen with locations in both Mandeville and Covington. After speaking with our friends we decided to dine at the Covington location of Crazy Pig Southern Kitchen. Inside the entrance, the restaurant posts their policy that you will not be seated at a table until all parties have arrived, which is understandable considering the huge amount of business they have. My wife and I arrived before our friends who were running a little late. The Hostess, Jill, asked me how many in our party and I told her four, but the other couple was running late and would be arriving in about 20 minutes. We took a seat in the empty waiting area inside the entrance. The restaurant appeared to have only one or two empty tables available inside when I arrived on a beautiful day. Five to ten minutes later the waiting area was full (approx. ten people). The restaurant was extremely noisy with all their customers enjoying their meals and conversing with friends/family. I noticed that there were approximately ten tables located in front of the restaurant in a beautiful covered patio, so I asked Jill if we could have a table outside once our friends arrived in about five more minutes because one of them was somewhat physically handicapped. There was only one empty table in the patio at the time. Jill explained that since she had a reservation in the patio for a party of eight that would be arriving soon, so she had been holding it for another available outside table to put together to accommodate this party. However, she said she would gladly give us the table. By this time, the waiting room was full of people and overflowing outside the entrance. I had given my seat to a lady and stepped outside to wait for my friends, who I noticed had arrived and parking their car. I told Jill and she seated us at the table in the patio. The four of us ordered different things on the menu, which were fantastic. Although the restaurant was packed, the waitress AND Jill visited our table several times to ensure we were enjoying our meals. Crazy Pig Southern Kitchens' ambiance, service, menu items (along with portion sizes) and prices were absolutely astounding. We were all very impressed and grateful for a beautiful dining experience. Special thanks to Jill who was abundantly pleasant to deal with. Crazy Pig Southern Kitchen certainly placed Jill in the right position.

She highly recommended the Blacken Shrimp and Grits. When my food came out, it was a large plate with plenty of shrimp. The food was amazing. I got my Southern/ Creole craving fulfilled. The coffee was fresh and hot and tasty. No complaints. I had breakfast but if the lunch is half as good then you won't be disappointed. Prices were reasonable for what I got. Be aware, it is a small place and it's good so they are busy. It was crowded but the tables were turning quickly and I didn't have to wait long. The ladies working were all very friendly and were trying hard to accommodate everyone. They don't have any 2-top tables or a counter so I ended up sharing a larger table with some folks who sat at the other end. Not a problem for me, but some people don't like that. It's tucked into a small shopping strip in plain view of the road but still you might miss it driving by. Parking was easy even though they were busy. I am looking forward to going back to try some different menu items. Highly recommended.

Liz came by the table to say hi to my mother in law and to meet us all. I started my meal with a spicy Bloody Mary and then had the Seafood Scramble with Spicy Hollandaise and a side of Cheesy Grits. That biscuit looked soft and fluffy. I loved my egg dish. My son had a Cheeseburger with Sweet Potato Fries and my brother in law had the Grilled Cheese and Crab Sandwich. They both looked great and apparently were delicious. The Shrimp and Grits and Debris Eggs Benedict were awesome too. We will definitely be back on our next trip if not another day this week.

Also, they serve up breakfast and lunch. I actually ate one of their breakfast plates last year when I was here for Christmas and enjoyed it. During my recent visit for the week, I decided to order from them. Let's see how the visits turned out. For takeout orders, you can call since they don't have a website. No major issue there. And your order will be ready in less than 10 minutes. Definitely not bad. Also, you have the option to do drive-thru service or walk-in. Inside, they have tables, flatscreen TV's and have a desert selection at the counter. For all my selections, I ordered a breakfast plate which consisted of grits, protein (sausage patties for me), scrambled eggs and biscuit or toast. All for $10. Homecooked and really good. And a welcoming staff when you enter the building or drive-thru. Can't beat that. I am so thankful this place is in my hometown. Local spots are where you can get a homecooked meal compared to home.
