My husband chose Crazy Pig Southetn Kitchen for Fathers Day brunch! What a treat! Not a huge place, but considering, they can truly pack that place! Food was great and service was excellent! I recommend on a holiday you get there early! We checked in for 9:15 and we had about a 20 minute wait for a table. However when we left there was about a 45 minute wait! Definitely try this little place out!

This isba quaint little hile in the wall spot to eat. We were seating right away. The service was outstanding as the server made sure you felt welcomed and your needs were met. So many choices to choose from that it was hard to decide on what to eat. The food didnt take long to come out and it was hot and full of flavor. They are great for brunch and you can gave breakfast all day if you choose. One of my sides was mac and cheese and you can tell they make their past fresh. Highly recommend.

Praline bacon was delicious, and breakfast potatoes were good too. Everything else a bit dry. Place was clean and had pig pictures and figurines; very cute. Service was good. The lady helping us was friendly and polite, very nice experience overall.

I did a Google search as we were leaving Covington and the Crazy Pig came up. With a name like that, I just had to try it. We were greeted and seated quickly. We actually chose the bar bc there was a TV there and we couldn't see it where they were about to seat us. We tried the praline bacon. I think it was just okay. Tasted like bacon with honey. I didn't care for the texture bc I like my bacon crispy. I had the avocado toast and my husband had the seafood omelet. The toast was really good, the bread was thin, but it was very tasty and seasoned well. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his omelet amd it was very thick and filled with seafood. He ate half and took the other half home. The restaurant is a nice size, good amount of tables. It was clean also. The staff was okay...I'm neutral on that part because they weren't very welcoming, but they weren't rude either. It took a while to order bc we were expecting to be asked if we were ready to order, but was never asked, we had to get her attention. Drink order was taken quickly, but not the food. If you're looking for an experience, this isn't the place. If you're looking for a place to get good breakfast, stop by and enjoy.

This place deserves every high ranking they received. The menu of options makes you drool. They're super friendly and the wait staff is amazing. Gives you options and drinks stay full. Worth the drive from the city for sure. I tried the shrimp and grits. Maaaaaaaaan it was good. Perfectly seasoned. Perfect consistency to the grits. Plenty of shrimp. Came with a biscuit that was soft and delicious. Also got the praline bacon. Could have ordered more. This is what praline bacon is supposed to be. Truly lived up to the name. Even the sweet tea was real tasty. Inside was clean with plenty of tables. It did start to fill around 9am this Sunday morning. I got there at 830 and it was half full. Glad I beat the crowd but I see why there is one. Will be back

Good food, friendly service. Eggs Benedict, schnitzel, and wide variety of sandwiches are our favorites. New Covington location (River Highland shopping center, behind Mugshots) is larger

FYI, this is a review for the location in Covington, not Mandeville. The address is 500 River Highland Blvd. and has been open since May, I believe, although it doesn't seem to have a presence on Yelp. Sorta off the beaten path and easy to miss, but features a nice venue with a laid back, extremely casual atmosphere, and a southern cafe persona. Open for brunch and lunch and although not open after 2:30 pm, there is a full bar featuring standard and specialty cocktails. You would think this would be well suited to an evening crowd. We visited on a Friday for lunch and a sizable crowd suggested an established following. Staff was welcoming and efficient and service was swift. The menu is somewhat eclectic, featuring takes on southern and pseudo- southern specialties along with appetizers, salads, burgers, and sandwiches. My wife had the chicken salad on croissant with a slaw side, and I had the broiled pork South House specialty with slaw and fried okra. Both were good, but the gravy with mine was somewhat of a gummy disappointment. Overall worthwhile though, so the brunch/lunch crowd would do well to check out the Crazy Pig.

Food: (1) Biscuits and gravy. The biscuit was incredible. Fluffy and soft but I have to say, the gravy was uber bland. I was hoping for all the Louisiana spices but instead it just tasted like rue. But, you cannot beat the price of $6! (2) Praline bacon. Super delicious. Sweet and savory and it's bacon, who's mad about that? (3) Sticky chicken. Fluffy biscuit. Nice fry on the chicken. Flavorful. Yummy cheesy grits. A star dish. Drinks: we got a mimosa, a Bloody Mary and a French 75. The champagne was noticeable cheap but at least the price overall matched the cheapness but I would have liked an option to pay more for nicer champagne (asked twice and they told me there wasn't any other champagne). The French 75 was flavorful but too much added sugar, in my opinion. Service: Mostly on top of it. There was a few times I need her and she wasn't anywhere to be found, but they were busy so I understand. We did a call ahead as well and that was helpful for when we got there! Ambience: typical lowkey Louisiana brunch spot

It was a beautiful day to have some great food on the Northshore!! Crazy pig did not disappoint!! The service was great and I felt well heard especially at a table of 6 women. That seafood omelette was amazing! Jammed pack with seafood and the grits were to die for!! If I am ever on the Northshore I will be back.

While having drinks we realized it was past our reservation time so we went up front to check on our table, and come to find out our table was ready (I believe they forgot about us, but no biggie). Our waiter was great and attentive. We ordered our favorite appetizer, oyster Pablo & it was just as good as always. I highly recommend! Our Server was friendly and helpful, always there when we needed her. Always with a smile. The location itself was comfortable and set a nice mood for our meal. The only thing I was unhappy with was the take away packing. The young man who packed my steak up literally folded my ribeye in half, to fit in a small container. I'd never seen this in my life (and hope to never see it again). Because of this, the liquid from the steak leaked onto the bottom of the paper bag our leftovers were put into. I was not pleased with this. I hope training will be provided for the people who pack take away containers in the future. This was the only bad part of our experience. I'd still highly recommend this location for a great meal.

We gave ourselves an hour and a half, enough time to eat and get to our next planned and scheduled event that day. So, we weren't in a rush. We get in the quickly moving line to order our food at the counter. I order a salmon bagel and the hubs ordered a meatball ciabatta. We sit down and I noticed it is a very busy place. It is a very large place and I noticed how clean everything was and how efficient all the workers were at getting the food out. One after the other, food was coming out like an assembly line and the food looked good, too. But the assembly line apparently stopped, no orders were coming out, and we waited about 20 or 25 minutes. At least we had our drinks because it is a counter service type establishment. We noticed stacks and stacks of 'to go' orders were being placed in the counter area. After nearly 35 or 40 minutes we get our food. Some guy had ordered a 'football teams' worth amount of food. So, although it was not the restaurant's fault, it was frustrating the timing that our order was f course put in right after the guy that ordered 20 dishes. I get my bagel to try to eat quickly, since now we are in a little bit of a rush. And the bagel couldn't have been more complicated to eat. I just wanted a complete lox bagel but it was a deconstructed bagel where I had to put the thing together. I would have enjoyed the meal a little better had my bagel been properly served, like for example, the way Flour Moon serves their bagels to customers. I don't know if we will be back because I rarely visit the Northshore, this was a special occasion. I guess if I do come back, I would like to try one or two of the desserts from the case. Those looked really good.

I pass this bar nearly every day and have always wondered how it was, but never stopped in. I was a tad overdressed since I was coming from La Provence, but I didn't care. The bar is pretty well lit for a dive. They could probably have turned out 3/4 of the lights to make it more divey. There was a pool table and a very long shuffleboard table. Shuffleboard in bars is an excellent concept. I never had been to a bar in Nola with shuffleboard, but this is the second Northshore bar with a table that I know of. The bar is very long and lined with bar stools. Above the bar there were four TVs all tuned to sports. The area next to the shuffleboard table has around 10 or so tables and chairs which was a nice place to sit and drink. There is also an area for a band, but there wasn't a show last night. The crowd was mixed. I was the best dressed, but it ran the gamut from young tattooed service industry folks to old dudes wearing LSU gear. The bartender was young, attractive and friendly. I ordered poorly (Fancy Lawnmower-nasty), but they did have a decent selection of other drafts (maybe 4-5). There was a Guinness draft sign, but I did not confirm that they had an actual draft.
