They did the best that they could to accommodate our large family. We had to bunch ourselves into two groups. But both tables were next to each other. I certainly appreciate them making it work. Crazy Pig has an excellent menu for breakfast with lots of different options We went on a Sunday morning I got one of the omelettes I think mine was the lean omelette Everything comes with bread and or biscuit I can't eat bread or biscuit so our waiter offered me avocado and tomatoes, which were a perfect choice to go with my omelette Most restaurant places that I've been to usually just remove the item without offering a substitution I was so happy with the alternate options I spoke with the owner to let her know that I appreciate having the tomato and the avocado instead of the bread and the biscuit. Then she told me that they just had a class on food allergies This is really exceptional that a restaurant is taking up their own initiative to learn about food allergies so that they can service their customers with better care While the food is definitely excellent with the capacity to offer different options for the different dietary needs that people have and the staff is educated, I just wish that they had better coffee at the Mandeville location like a cappuccino or a café latte Still an excellent choice read more

Really cute spot. Food and service were great. Definitely will be back. I've already recommended it to a couple friends. ha

I was seated very quickly. The staff were very friendly and checked on me often. It was my first time so I asked my waitress for recommendations. She highly recommended the Blacken Shrimp and Grits. When my food came out, it was a large plate with plenty of shrimp. The food was amazing. I got my Southern/ Creole craving fulfilled. I'm definitely coming back! I wish they would open longer so I can grab late lunch or early dinner. read more

My husband chose Crazy Pig Southetn Kitchen for Fathers Day brunch! What a treat! Not a huge place, but considering, they can truly pack that place! Food was great and service was excellent! I recommend on a holiday you get there early! We checked in for 9:15 and we had about a 20 minute wait for a table. However when we left there was about a 45 minute wait! Definitely try this little place out! read more

I saw this place as I was driving nearby to another business, but they were closed by the time I got back. I am glad I made it late morning on a Saturday. I was promptly seated and asked which beverage I wanted. I ended up getting the shrimp pasta which was quite nice. Prices were reasonable, everything seemed clean. I look forward to coming back. read more

I did a Google search as we were leaving Covington and the Crazy Pig came up. With a name like that, I just had to try it. We were greeted and seated quickly. We actually chose the bar bc there was a TV there and we couldn't see it where they were about to seat us. We tried the praline bacon. I think it was just okay. Tasted like bacon with honey. I didn't care for the texture bc I like my bacon crispy. I had the avocado toast and my husband had the seafood omelet. The toast was really good, the bread was thin, but it was very tasty and seasoned well. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his omelet amd it was very thick and filled with seafood. He ate half and took the other half home. The restaurant is a nice size, good amount of tables. It was clean also. The staff was okay...I'm neutral on that part because they weren't very welcoming, but they weren't rude either. It took a while to order bc we were expecting to be asked if we were ready to order, but was never asked, we had to get her attention. Drink order was taken quickly, but not the food. If you're looking for an experience, this isn't the place. If you're looking for a place to get good breakfast, stop by and enjoy. read more

This place deserves every high ranking they received. The menu of options makes you drool. They're super friendly and the wait staff is amazing. Gives you options and drinks stay full. Worth the drive from the city for sure. I tried the shrimp and grits. Maaaaaaaaan it was good. Perfectly seasoned. Perfect consistency to the grits. Plenty of shrimp. Came with a biscuit that was soft and delicious. Also got the praline bacon. Could have ordered more. This is what praline bacon is supposed to be. Truly lived up to the name. Even the sweet tea was real tasty. Inside was clean with plenty of tables. It did start to fill around 9am this Sunday morning. I got there at 830 and it was half full. Glad I beat the crowd but I see why there is one. Will be back read more

This is heaven on Earth. The hardest thing to do is decide what to eat but even after many visits, I haven't found one dish that I wouldn't eat again. The grits are so delicious and don't get me started on the biscuits, yum. Love bringing first timers so they can be regulars too. Crazy Pig Southern Kitchen - Eggs Benedict - American Near Me - Mandeville, Louisiana

FYI, this is a review for the location in Covington, not Mandeville. The address is 500 River Highland Blvd. and has been open since May, I believe, although it doesn't seem to have a presence on Yelp. Sorta off the beaten path and easy to miss, but features a nice venue with a laid back, extremely casual atmosphere, and a southern cafe persona. Open for brunch and lunch and although not open after 2:30 pm, there is a full bar featuring standard and specialty cocktails. You would think this would be well suited to an evening crowd. We visited on a Friday for lunch and a sizable crowd suggested an established following. Staff was welcoming and efficient and service was swift. The menu is somewhat eclectic, featuring takes on southern and pseudo- southern specialties along with appetizers, salads, burgers, and sandwiches. My wife had the chicken salad on croissant with a slaw side, and I had the broiled pork South House specialty with slaw and fried okra. Both were good, but the gravy with mine was somewhat of a gummy disappointment. Overall worthwhile though, so the brunch/lunch crowd would do well to check out the Crazy Pig. read more

Food: (1) Biscuits and gravy. The biscuit was incredible. Fluffy and soft but I have to say, the gravy was uber bland. I was hoping for all the Louisiana spices but instead it just tasted like rue. But, you cannot beat the price of $6! (2) Praline bacon. Super delicious. Sweet and savory and it's bacon, who's mad about that? (3) Sticky chicken. Fluffy biscuit. Nice fry on the chicken. Flavorful. Yummy cheesy grits. A star dish. Drinks: we got a mimosa, a Bloody Mary and a French 75. The champagne was noticeable cheap but at least the price overall matched the cheapness but I would have liked an option to pay more for nicer champagne (asked twice and they told me there wasn't any other champagne). The French 75 was flavorful but too much added sugar, in my opinion. Service: Mostly on top of it. There was a few times I need her and she wasn't anywhere to be found, but they were busy so I understand. We did a call ahead as well and that was helpful for when we got there! Ambience: typical lowkey Louisiana brunch spot read more

My wife and I live in Kenner and have been enjoying lunch once a month for many years with another couple who live on the North Shore. We have our favorites on both sides of the lake, but I recently read some great reviews somewhere online about Crazy Pig Southern Kitchen with locations in both Mandeville and Covington. After speaking with our friends we decided to dine at the Covington location of Crazy Pig Southern Kitchen. Inside the entrance, the restaurant posts their policy that you will not be seated at a table until all parties have arrived, which is understandable considering the huge amount of business they have. My wife and I arrived before our friends who were running a little late. The Hostess, Jill, asked me how many in our party and I told her four, but the other couple was running late and would be arriving in about 20 minutes. We took a seat in the empty waiting area inside the entrance. The restaurant appeared to have only one or two empty tables available inside when I arrived on a beautiful day. Five to ten minutes later the waiting area was full (approx. ten people). The restaurant was extremely noisy with all their customers enjoying their meals and conversing with friends/family. I noticed that there were approximately ten tables located in front of the restaurant in a beautiful covered patio, so I asked Jill if we could have a table outside once our friends arrived in about five more minutes because one of them was somewhat physically handicapped. There was only one empty table in the patio at the time. Jill explained that since she had a reservation in the patio for a party of eight that would be arriving soon, so she had been holding it for another available outside table to put together to accommodate this party. However, she said she would gladly give us the table. By this time, the waiting room was full of people and overflowing outside the entrance. I had given my seat to a lady and stepped outside to wait for my friends, who I noticed had arrived and parking their car. I told Jill and she seated us at the table in the patio. The four of us ordered different things on the menu, which were fantastic. Although the restaurant was packed, the waitress AND Jill visited our table several times to ensure we were enjoying our meals. Crazy Pig Southern Kitchens' ambiance, service, menu items (along with portion sizes) and prices were absolutely astounding. We were all very impressed and grateful for a beautiful dining experience. Special thanks to Jill who was abundantly pleasant to deal with. Crazy Pig Southern Kitchen certainly placed Jill in the right position. read more
