I really wish I loved One Thirteen. It checks almost every box: close to home, nice decor/ambiance, and great drinks, but falls flat usually on food and sometimes service. Their food selection is vast, but also highly limited in flavor variety. Dishes are not much better than local chains and priced comparative to fine dining in the area. The few things I have ordered in several visits here have been either bland, prepared incorrectly or covered in overly salty sauces. Their standout dishes are definitely their tuna and the complimentary bread, which pairs well with the ricotta. At our last visit, we were not assigned a server, and despite the restaurant being empty, waited 20 minutes for a glass of water. One of the bartenders noticed (blonde) and was kind enough to jump in and assist. She helped up promptly and dinner came out quickly. Our order was simple, a chicken in papillote, tomato soup and burratta salad with chicken. The salad was fine but not well dressed, and whatever I did get of the dressing lacked acidity. Chicken was well seasoned and tasted great. The papillote chicken was disappointing as it had no color and resembled a boiled chicken breast. I understand a papillote technique, but think that it should have been done on a grill or at least finished on a broiler for color, texture and taste. The accompanying rice was also sloppily put on the plate with little care. The soup was cold, but after waiting so long we didn't send it back. It did taste good though. Cocktails were excellent! Service is generally good, and we understand this can happen anywhere, but the food was not enough to make up for it. I've noticed this with several restaurant groups in town that open a more "upscale" brand within. They often do not have the training and staff infrastructure to support the more luxury outlet. This often makes it feel like you paid (insert fancy restaurant here) prices for (insert casual/family style brand here) food. We will continue to come back for small plates and drinks but generally skip dinner unless it's an invite or group outing. read more

Place looks like one of high end party palace bars I went to in 1980's Tampa. Lots of suited men standing around, pretty bar tenders, flashy/expensive furnishings, and lots of noise! Ate at the bar and I can't recommend that. Worst bar layout for the workers I have ever seen! Clean glasses near floor and blocks POS use. Drink shaking and mixing in front of your plates (very loud) gets old. Mixologists are over loaded and stressed. Some of the suits stand in the traffic way which adds to the chaos. Now the food. Very good but not super special. Not sure what happened but parts were lukewarm, other parts hot. Must have had an issue with plating? Honestly, I would slim down the accessory personnel and managers and redo that bar. We may go again but only for a much quieter lunch. They will make it in Mandeville though and they run rings around Desi Vega's. read more

This restaurant is beautiful! Whoever designed this restaurant did an amazing job. The bar area is small but the restaurant inside and out is huge. The wait staff was great. I wanted Belvedere vodka. They were out and sent someone to get a new bottle. Impressive. The food was very well prepared although we mainly ate appetizers to try different preparations. My friend and I had a delightful lunch experience today at One Thirteen in Mandeville. Christian served us like we were royalty, and the manager greeted us and checked on us throughout our meal. The food was deliciously interesting and generous portions. When I told them it was my friend's birthday they came out with huge, sparkling flares and a complementary bread pudding with a rum sauce and fresh fruit. I will definitely be back! read more

Warm greeting upon arrival. Our server, Alby, was pleased to answer all of our questions. The dining room is spacious while still offering some private nooks and romantic corners. The menu is extensive and diverse. We started with Mexico City Dippers, then we both chose the Vesuvio Lunch (I had Hawaiian Ribeye Kababs, and Dave chose the chicken) both were amazing. I came last night as a party of five. I ordered the filet and requested it well done. I realize this is not what people recommend but this is my preference. Another member of my party ordered the filet medium. When the steaks arrived mine was so rare it was bright red throughout and cool to the temp. Our server insisted mine and the other order at the table's got switched so we could switch them. We did, but his was still medium and I wanted well but everyone had been served and I didn't want to send it back. As he was sitting all the way across at a round table, we asked for a clean plate to transfer our steaks to each other which was met with an eye roll. I ended up eating a few bites from the outer edges. Then the server came back and asked again if I wanted to send it back, I said no and so she said, "Well at least let us get you a comped dessert." At the end of the meal we went ahead and ordered 1 slice of cheesecake. One person in our party paid for the meal so I took a screenshot of the receipt in order to settle up via Venmo later and once I got home I realized we had also been charged for the dessert. I really wanted to love this restaurant, but unfortunately, my husband & I were disappointed. Our favorite dish was the citrus tuna, but other than that, we were underwhelmed. The Mexico City dip was lukewarm and not well seasoned. My husband's porkchop, though presently beautifully, was dry. I ordered the cod, and nearly every item on my plate was cooked in entirely too much butter. Because I've seen similar entree prices at more upscale restaurants around the area, I'd expect the food to reflect the same taste and quality, which was not the case. However, the cocktails were delicious, and the restaurant had a fun atmosphere. Our server was sweet and attentive. We would return for pre-dinner drinks with a group, but we would not recommend it for a sit-down meal given the other options in the area. read more

First time eating here last night with my wife. The transformation of this place is amazing. The atmosphere is upscale and fun. We had to wait a little bit for our table, so we sat at the bar. The bar area is great and kind of wish we would have stayed they for our meal. Once seated, our waitress was quick to greet us. Service was great throughout the meal. We started with the Mexico City dip which was great. My wife wants me to stop by again to today to get some of the dip to go. Fkr entrees, I ordered the pork chop and my wife ordered the pasta (red sauce) with chicken. She absolutely loved hers. The pork chop was good, but way over cooked and sort of dry. The crème brûlée was pretty good. What made our experience special was the attention from the managers and owners. One of the owners was going around giving free tequila shots to patrons. Many of the tables were celebrating birthdays so the overall mood in the restaurant was fun. We will be back. read more

OMG this place is AMAZING! Aesthetically gorgeous with food that is so dang good. We went for brunch and shared Mexico City dip (like a spinach artichoke queso with a kick) and the French toast and a country ham benny. Loved every bite. They said they'd been open for two weeks but I thought they'd been open for two months based on how smoothly everything went. Service was phenomenal. I went to One Thirteen yesterday with the fam and will have to say, it's a great restaurant. It's basically a white tablecloth restaurant in a bit more casual setting to invite everyone in. The food was excellent, the service was great, and I'll be back in the future. Everyone in my family loved their meals. I had the Ember Black Cod, which was outstanding. They seem to be flexible in that you can order off the lunch menu at dinner or vice versa. Keep it on your radar and try it if you have not. PS Their sign is a bit understated, but it's directly across the parking lot from long time Mandeville landmark La Carreta on the W. Causeway Approach. read more

Loved the entire experience! We went for my birthday lunch and were greeted with warm smiles and enthusiasm. Our server(Jordan) was happy to recommend a few items and answer and questions, as none of us had been here before. Our food was warm and we all mentioned wanting to keep celebrating our bday lunch tradition here. Thank you for bringing such a lovely place that doesn't feel over stuffy to the area! To start... I made a reservation for 13 people and the hostess took care of it. I called later because I was not sure of the time we would get there as my daughter was graduating from college. I called again and Brent answered the phone. He made the change and then proceeded to ask why we were coming. I told him the story and then we exchanged pleasantries and went on our lives. We got to the restaurant and Brent was at the door. He greeted us and imediately went to my daughter and congratulate her on her graduation. The Server was phenomenal. I don't remember her name , but she was attentive and friendly. Everything we had was amazing. The grillled cheese fingers appetizers can be a meal by itself. FYI Once our meal was done. The server asked us if wanted to bill an we said "Yes". She went to the back. While she was getting the bill the lights started flickering and the music changed. The whole crew ran to the table with a sparkler and a shot for my daughter! I live about 45 minutes away, but I will recommend One Thirteen to anyone in the area. Went Sat. night with 8 people. The place is beautiful and ambiance is great! Very expensive. I think they think they're in NY. Food was pretty good. Birthday celebrations are over the top annoying and went on all night. Every bday the staff comes singing with cake and sparklers (cute) but they start by blinking the lights off and on off and on constantly in the whole place. I thought I was gonna have a seizure. They do bring free cake though. Service was good. read more
