What an amazing experience with service, ambience and the exceptional flavors this restaurant offers! Truly the biggest gem in Madisonville! We dined here late lunch/early dinner. The decor from street view of the restaurant is welcoming and yet, once you walk inside it gives you the artsy, modern & sophistication to another world. I was pleasantly surprised and admire this take in its art form. We ordered 3 plates to share, Calamari, Cevice Clasico, & Pulpo Anticuchero & a couple Pisco sours. Each dish was plated and cooked perfectly, especially the octopus. Octopus is usually overcooked in most establishments, but not here... it was melt in your mouth outstanding. I honestly can reorder those plates again for the next visit because they are actually that outstanding. They do have a speakeasy (upstairs) open on Friday's and Saturdays which is themed to Scarface and even have a connecting outside front patio lounge to that. Unfortunately they weren't open at the time, as we visited on a Sunday. But we still got a pretty cool tour by our awesome server. Needless to say, this place has won our hearts and we will be back to try more! We had tried prior the location in New Orleans and today we actually came here.. to their original location! We loved it even more !! I guess the branzino father's days special made the day!! We sat at the bar and had the ceviche as app along with some Spanish brut to wash it down the proper way.. lol.. for entrees we tried the whole branzino fried fish, the wings and the ribs and all were amazing !! This place sets a nice elegance while having and earthy South American vibe. Great flavor in every bit of the food but not over done. Each element adding to the dishes. We asked for the sweet plantains (a side) as an appetizer and enjoyed this choice. Then a mahi mahi based octopus ceviche and a parmesan encrusted chicken over one of the better pestos I've tasted, and the green pasta was cooked al dente not overcooked like the majority of restaurants. We spent my daughter's birthday here tonight, and it was such a lovely experience. Everything that we ordered was exceptional. The cocktails are great. We have been here several other times in the last year or two, but tonight it seemed like they have taken it to a new level. We went for the specials, so if you have a chance to do the tuna ceviche or the squid ink rice, please go for it. Amazing. My husband had the short rib and it was lovely as well. Wow. Wow. Wow. Friends took me here last night. Loved the vibe on walking in. Funky chic. Very classy. Beautifully done. Good fortune to have Sarah as wait staff. Very patient, knowledgeable and friendly. The menu was so unique we decided to share an assortment of appetizers Omg. Every single one was fresh, delicious and interesting. Presentations were off the chart. For example the tacos were served on a bed of pebbles. Amazing. Btw. Our cocktails were also unique and delicious. One thing I noticed was that all the wait staff spoke to us - welcoming us and saying goodby and come again. Very nice touch. This historic setting across from the river is a home run. We absolutely loved this place! The two of us sat at the bar, and it had such a great vibe. It was very upbeat but you could still have a conversation. We both got a cocktail which was delicious. To start, we got the calamari which came with 2 different sauces. It was excellent, and there was so much flavor. I got the paella, which was amazing. It was so creamy and all of the seafood was cooked perfectly. We also got the short rib, which was very tender and all the flavors went well together. Great atmosphere! The place was a social feel, but didnt feel to open for us! If you like an intimate feel, I would say that this may not be the place for that unless youbare ok sitting off to the side, but still in a high vibe room. There weren't any booths alone which was OK. The waitress was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed! The food was great and there were a few options that were kid friendly. Most of the food was shareable so, you got a sizable portion of food. We had the wings, guacamole, and Ceasar salad for starters. Tge wings were really good with a slight crunch. The Ceasar had panto chicken and this was also enough for a meal. The guacamole was flavorful and came with blue corn chips which paired well. Tge drink menu also had a lot of options and they do not skim on the alcohol. YIKES!!!! I would definitely return to this place for a brunch, lunch or dinner. We ended it with a free birthday dessert which was a tres leches which was very good with a slight coffee aroma! Just be prepared to ask for additional silverware as this may be the only $80+ per person place I've been to where you have to keep your silverware. This wasn't a problem for us! read more

I visited Social for lunch based on my best friend's wish to try Peruvian food. We picked a few things from each menu. From the bar menu, we tried the Cosmo and Pisco sour cocktails and the pork rinds. The drinks were great, especially the Pisco, and the pork rinds were sprinkled with togarashi and came crackling to the table. Along with the music and the chic decor, this was a fun way to get the vibe going. We chose the Ceviche clàsico to share and it was not what I was expecting. The fresh fish came to the table in a beautiful bowl to which the server added leche de tigre and drops of green oil. The ceviche was designed to sip and we didn't mind sharing but if double dipping is off the table, order your own. Loved this dish and I would order it again. Next, we ordered the Causa Limeña salad and the Nikkei Bowl from the lunch menu. I loved the layered chicken salad and potatoes on the causa limeña but the Nikkei bowl was the standout for the acevichada sauce that accompanies the fresh shrimp and sushi rice. It was filling but super fresh and unique. The interesting decor of the restaurant is the first thing you notice. It has a West Indies feel to me but may be Peruvian style. Whatever it is, it is Instagram-worthy and makes the restaurant a destination dining experience. The service was outstanding and I left wishing I could come back the next day. Social would be great for a reunion meet-up or anniversary celebration and it would be a beautiful spot for a wedding rehearsal dinner. This restaurant is not to be missed. read more

Made reservations at Social for 6pm on a Thursday. They had quite a few tables seated when we arrived. The interior of the place created a vibrant and exciting atmosphere. The energy in the restaurant was infectious and it spread throughout. We shared several small plates along with our cocktails. Some plates was delivered with a special presentation. A Must-Try Peruvian Experience! Don't shy away from Social--this place delivers amazing Peruvian flavors that blew me away. I had the Lomo Saltado, a perfectly tossed stir-fry of beef tenderloin, onions, tomatoes, soy sauce, and vinegar served with rice, it was rich, and absolutely delicious. I almost skipped the classic Pisco Sour after reading the ingredients (egg white?!) but thanks to our awesome waitress who encouraged me, I gave it a try. Wow. The restaurant is beautiful on the inside! It's the perfect atmosphere for a date night or girls night. The service was great, and each member of the staff was attentive. Every dish was tasty. The seafood in my ceviche was high quality and very fresh. My husband loved his paella; I took a bite, and it was extremely flavorful. We split some plantains, and they were perfectly cooked. From the moment we walked into the restaurant we knew this would be a winner. The vibe, modern, upscale, and fun is right out in front of you. But trust me, it only gets better from here. Let's start with the food, a modern take on Peruvian cuisine. Sure, it has Lomo Saltado, but it is not like that kind served in the vast majority of delicious Peruvian restaurants. Instead of fries, this one comes with round potatoes, snow peas, rice and chocio. Their ceviche (we ate the Cerviche Social) was delicious. Their drink menu, while not epic in size, is full of very fun and intriguing options. Even their plantains were not your average plantains and covers with togarashi and a small add of feta cheese. For dessert we had Tres Leche and Maiz Morado which was unlike most ice creams we have ever had and a very unexpected and delicious way to end the meal. In terms of service it was impeccable, friendly, and attentive. Our server Anna was great and we also met Aubrey and Elise whose attitude and professionalism was what you would hope for at an upscale, but not off the charts expensive restaurant. And for bonus points, there is a ast parking options in front of and behind the restaurant (in their own lot) right across the bridge in Madisonville and a great outdoor patio overlooking the river. One of the best meals my wife and I have ever had on the Northshore. I ordered the Fettuccine Huancaína with salmon, and it was absolutely outstanding. Heath, our bartender and server, was extremely professional and attentive. His detailed knowledge of each menu item was truly impressive and added to the overall experience. This was our second time dining at Social. While the food was great the first time, service sucked. This time not only did service lack, but the food was bland (both pastas.) We were also the only guests, so already not a great sign. We sat at the bar and I ordered the house Pinot noir. The bartender did not know what it was, despite me pointing it out on the menu. When he was able to find it, he pulled out the bottle from the cooler. Not sure if this is a Peruvian thing or not but I've never been served chilled red wine from a restaurant before. Aside from the disappointing dinner and drink, my overall rating for this place is a result of their poor service. They tip pool, which has been proven time and again to give the effect of shitty customer service. It's becoming more common in the Northshore area and it's a shame because sometimes it does not matter how good the food is when the staff lacks basic customer service skills. It feels like this place is posing as a Peruvian restaurant. It's hard to gain an actual experience when the only authentic thing they have going for them is the interior design. The music doesn't even hint towards the vibe. I hope they can figure it out, end the ridiculous tip pooling, and hire people who know what they are doing. Until then, best of luck. read more

The ambiance was very cool. They have done a great job renovating that building. The food was incredibly bland and just downright strange. The only thing that really had any flavor was the guacamole. That aside, we had the fettuccini and the chicken wings. Wings were ok but the fettuccini didn't have any seasoning whatsoever. The service was also subpar. The staff was nice but were basically checked on 2 times the entire service. They didn't offer to explain anything on the menu(and if you have never been here, be prepared to google a lot of things), and they generally just sort of didn't interact at anything but a surface level. There are 2 zones for seating-the front which was busy and energetic, and in the back by the bar where no one even knows your there. Last but not least, when they give you the check, it's one of those awkward scan your card at the table and select gratuity in front of your waiter. Kind of uncouth. Won't be back. read more

The inside decor reminds me of restaurants in Miami or South Florida. It is absolutely stunning as I felt like I was on vacation. We had short ribs, a social burger and pesto pasta.
