This place was very fun and an unexpected find in our quick visit to Baton Rouge. We arrived around 1 pm for brunch and though there were empathy seats it took about 15 minutes for us to be seated. The floor was a hazard. I almost slipped and hat to catch myself otherwise it would have been very bad. Not sure why but the floor was extremely wet and maybe even greasy that didn't make it safe to walk on. Once we arrived at our seats, our waitress was very attentive and pleasant. Our table ordered a variety of dishes. Each were very good and enjoyed by all of us. We set in doors but the outside seating looked enjoyable. To our surprise at the end of the meal received the signature cotton candy that is provided to all guests. This is definitely a must dine brunch spot.

Yummy food and nice service. Everyone was very kind and the inside of the restaurant is very cute. My only complaint was it was a little tough finding vegetarian options since it's the south so everything had meat in it in some way. I was able to find some sides / appetizers to eat which were really good though! They also brought us a complimentary cotton candy, and I don't usually like cotton candy, but it was very tasty and pretty.

First time we've come for dinner, and it was amazing! Service was great, I love the atmosphere in the restaurant. Love the free pork rinds and cotton candy We got Free pork rinds Crabmeat cheesecake - hands down my favorite of the night Solou burger - so messy but so good Boudin quesadilla - the parts that had boudin were great! But there was a lot of the quesadilla that didn't have any filling or only had cheese Free cotton candy - LOVE

Food was splendiferous and I love the portion that I received. Three fish tacos loaded with fish and pineapple pico. It was lovely. The waitress was attentive and always satisfied our needs the entire time we were here. Also, as a fast food connoisseur it feels good to have a healthy side like their amazing Brussel sprouts. The area outside and inside leave an amazing vibe, with a huge bar in the front and a nice patio and inside area. For a small place in the middle of Baton Rouge everything is great and fresh. Please give my compliments to the chef!!!

SoLou offers a polished interpretation of Cajun cuisine that remains deeply rooted in comfort and tradition. The shrimp po' boy delivers crisp, well-balanced richness, while the alligator hot dog transforms a regional staple into something unexpectedly refined. Its gumbo, layered with soulful depth and warmth, captures the essence of Louisiana cooking with elevated precision. The restaurant's signature cotton candy dessert provides a whimsical finish to an otherwise grounded and elegant meal, all complemented by service that is both attentive and genuinely welcoming.

Came in for the first time and absolutely loved the vibe and food! Our server Maggie was super friendly and really attentive. She would refill our drinks before they were empty, cleared empty plates out and just made the experience much more enjoyable. We definitely be back and bring our pup!

Stopped by SoLou and left very impressed. Sat on the patio with our two pups, so dog friendly was a plus! It was kind of chilly but no worries, they have heaters! Ordered the SoLou burger with two patties, cheddar, and bacon jam. The patties were moist and juicy, and the cheddar plus bacon jam combo hit perfectly. Smoky, savory, and balanced. The bun was nicely toasted and held everything together. It comes with crispy battered fries that were solid on their own and didn't feel like an afterthought. Also tried the crab and brie grilled cheese and this was a standout. The bread was perfectly buttery, not greasy. Plenty of real lump crab meat, not the artificial stuff, and the brie was melted just right without being overly cheesy or heavy. It's paired with a tomato soup that's meant for dipping, and it works. The soup wasn't thin or watery, more of a creamy, well seasoned consistency. We also ordered the cheddar cheese stuffed tater tots, and these are not your standard tots. They're oversized with a pillowy, potato forward inside and crispy on the outside, with cheesy goodness in the center. Pro tip: dip the tots in the tomato soup. Trust me. To top it off, at the end of the meal they brought out cotton candy. Since it's Christmas season, it was Grinch flavored cotton candy, which is basically sour apple. Fun touch and a cool way to end the meal. Overall, the food was excellent and the service matched it. Big shoutout to Kaseem. He was accommodating with our drink orders, had great menu recommendations, and was just a solid dude all around. Would absolutely come back.

The service was outstanding. The food was so delicious. We had the rotisserie chicken, and shrimp alfredo. The Truffle fries were the best I've ever had. The pink Margarita with coconut rum was sooo good. The cotton candy was a special treat too!

Thank you so much to Solou for being so accommodating to my friends and I. We made a reservation for at least 15 people and were all comfortably seated in a booth area. Our waiter went above and beyond to help us celebrate our newly engaged friends which we were super grateful for. I was about to go on a road trip with dinner plans later that day, so chose to keep my brunch a little light. I started with the blueberry margarita, which was nice and sweet. I do wish it were a little sourer, but if you're a sweet drink girl, this is the way to go! My meal was the fried cauliflower in sweet and sour sauce. A bunch of my friends side-eyed me for that one, but quickly took It back once they tasted it. Delicious. My only nitpick would be that maybe there was too much sauce, especially as I got to the bottom. Maybe putting a little less on the cauliflower, and having more on the side so that the customer can control that themselves? All in all, I had a wonderful time and if I find myself back in Baton Rouge, I'll be sure to stop by!

Is the parking situation any better than it was a year ago? That is the only reason I don't go there more than I have.

There is a lot out back to the right that is gravel. I don't know what it was like before but it had enough parking on a busy Friday night.

Can you order off lunch menu during brunch or is only the limited brunch menu available?

    You can order off both

    Is there a kids menu?

I don't think so. I didn't see one when I was there and there isn't one posted online. I'd say call just to be sure

Do you need reservations for Sunday brunch?

Yes! It's their busiest morning. Definitely try to get one in advance.
