I believe me & my sister experiences racism for the 1st time in an establishment! I hadn't been here in over a year because one time before my friend & I stopped in for a cocktail & we weren't greeted or anything & walked out! Well I decided to finally try again! Same! When we walked in there were 3 bartenders, we took a seat directly in front of red head, she didn't greet offer water or anything, Same with the bartender she was heheing with. They became stoned faced & scurried to the opposite end of the bar. However we did notice her demeanor was different when a certain color approached the bar & she was oh so helpful & full of smiles. We sat for quite awhile & started looking for elsewhere, almost as if they were playing rock paper scissors in their head about who was going to serve us, yea. One finally shows up we decided to get a round of drinks & 2 appetizers & go to Tio Javi's hastily. The drinks were sweet, not like they used to be, boudin balls were good, dip lacked luster. When he saw we were leaving so soon, then he tried to compliment my nails. A tip was the furthest thing from my mind but my sis thought I should, but I most definitely wouldn't have. Honey no need, I will never step foot & spend my money here ever again! At this point post the sign on the door, you know, "that sign". read more

Food was lackluster. The cocktails were not that great. It looks like they're focused on their new endeavor (truce & chaos) and have left olive or twist to try and stay a float. It's sad because this place use to have good food & drinks. read more

Overpriced drinks. Atmosphere is foul. Like moldy and gross. Bathroom was nicer than the actual seating and thats saying something. Dont get me wrong i like a trashy local bar but this place aint it. I wont return for any reason. read more

Seemed like a nice spot to grab a quick bite and cocktail. We came in after a day of running errands, so looking for a quick wind down. Ordered 1 cocktail, and it was good. Honestly, the sweet potato fries may have been the best thing we had. I ordered the veggie quesadilla and added chicken, it was only ok. We also had the chicken and waffles, the waffle was pretty good. We sat at a bar table, and although the bartender had several ppl at the bar, he was very attentive to us. I've heard good things about Olive or Twist, so I'm willing to give them another try for brunch. read more

Okay I'm giving this 3 stars for the drinks but taking away 2 for the prices and food. I had the Pillowtalk martini and had to get another!! They were so. Good. The food however, was mid. Especially for the price. I had the Arcadia pasta and it fell a little flat. My friend had the shrimp and grits and was also satisfied but not pleased. I'd go back for the service and bar area for sure. Great vibe, wouldn't make a dinner stop though read more

Great after hours spot that a coworker & I went to! There was lively music & people chilling on the patio area. We sat & ordered at the bar. I had the cookies & cream bread pudding with poydras poutine: fries covered in chicken & andouille sausage gumbo! I had mine w/o the pulled pork but it was just as described on the menu.. succulent! The service was subpar but not bad. The bartender seemed a bit flustered & it took while for our food to come. That's the only thing that kept me from giving a five star review. I've heard great things about their brunch so I'll be back to try it soon. read more

Prices are a little high, but the service and portion sizes are good. The atmosphere is kind of a Louisiana bayou country mixed with urban French Quarter bar -like decor. The Grits Grillade is flavorful with a pleasant Creole spice flavor and tender meat. The coffee was fresh. Good service but the restaurant didn't have many patrons while we visited. read more

We walked in, hoping to grab a few cocktails and watch the World Cup, and were immediately met with a foul smell. It smelled as if the bar hadn't been cleaned in some time. We couldn't believe people were seated and actually eating inside the smell was so bad. The owners should invest in a DEEP clean before letting patrons back in that building... unacceptable. read more

I came to the restaurant after trying a bite of a friends meal and I really enjoyed it a while back. But I did not realize that they only served brunch on Saturday and Sunday, so I decided to try the chicken and waffles anyway. Unlucky for me, we were served the worst chicken tenders I quite possibly ever had in my life, and I mean that. I will show you in photos below, but the chicken was so dry and shriveled up that it literally fell out of the batter every time we picked it up and it had the texture of rubber, overpriced, and some of the worst food I've ever had. The server was really nice and made a good bloody Mary . The inside also kind of looks like an old tavern. read more

The food was ok and they were out of some menu items. The service was okay. The bar side of the restaurant was full. The folks at the bar were eating drinking and happy. No one, including wait staff, were in the dining area and we did have to wait a little longer than usual for someone to seat us. The decor was really nice. They were remodeling so the restroom was a little rough but that's understandable. The set up outside, bar and dining area was nice. I think maybe it was the day and time we went, Sunday night, 2 hours before closing, perhaps this is why the experience felt off. We will give them another shot, perhaps for lunch/dinner. read more

I was excited to try Olive or Twist but it was subpar. Majority of the appetizers on the hard-to-read menu are 'discontinued' which was an awkward moment. I definitely realized the place is more focused on the drinks than the food, but I unfortunately sent my drink back. The ambiance is nice but our waitress was extremely soft spoken and hard to hear. Most of the time she was on her phone at the hostess stand. I'm not sure if I'm going back soon. read more

Brunch is on point! Brunch is my favorite, so Olive or Twist's brunch definitely hit the spot. It was a busy Sunday, but everything was worth the wait. I started with the Sangria... it was orange-y, pomegranate-y, with a hint of strawberry. It was so good and totally a different take on Sangrai, but again, I loved it! And it was in a big glass, so no need for seconds. As my meal, I got the bananas foster French toast. Best decision I made all week. It was sweet and the bananas were perfect. The syrup was already on the plate when I got it, so it was a perfect ratio of syrup to toast (I hate when I overpour). I ate everything just because it was so tasty. There is parking, but you just gotta look for it! It is in a complex with a bunch of other restaurants and places, so the parking lot is small, but there is parking! It is a little small and noisy inside, but I love the decor....very modern! read more

Ordered the creole 4 cheese macaroni and did not receive that. It was through DoorDash, and the restaurant did not call me or anything. So this is my second official review of Olive or Twist and they meet my expectations each time. My hubby and I stopped in for the weekday happy hour, our attempt to save a few coins lol. We ordered the Whiskey Smash ($8) and the Jungle Bird ($8)! Please note: there is no food on the happy hour menu, just drinks. Both drinks were good, the whiskey smash was our favorite! We ended up ordering the Chicken and waffles! My husband was pleased to know it was an option on the dinner menu. I ventured out to try the Wedge salad and added steak ($8). The food came out quickly and was hot! My salad was delicious, but I was a little disappointed in how little steak I got for $8. I think the portion could have been bigger, but inflation I suppose. It was cooked and seasoned to perfection though! Also, if you love blue cheese, they don't hold back on the Wedge salad! So much blue cheese, I was in love! Overall, we were satisfied! Once again, we'll be back! read more

Vibes were good. well rounded music. Appetizers were good. As far as entrees not so much. It was definitely nothing to brag about. i had the catfish Atchafalaya and personally didn't like the portion size. I think for $24 dollar they could've given more than one scoop of rice and probably a ladle full of sauce with a piece of catfish. However, my husband had the pasta which offered a larger portion size. I think this place is perfect for drinks and apps. Something light. Not for entrees or maybe if you get an entree I'm sure burgers would be a safe choice. Our server was really nice and knowledgeable. And kept drinks filled. Overall we choose this as a date night spot. And if we come back It'll be solely for the drinks. And choose somewhere for actually eating. read more

This is our favorite bar right now, great for any time of the week. Classy! And the egg rolls are a must!!!

What a great experience!!! I have to say I love this place. I came on a Sunday and the vibe was fun, and exciting and lively. It became more quiet and sultry as the evening went on - it was all lovely. The food and drinks were delectable!! The short rib egg rolls were heavenly and a great way to start the meal. I had the crawfish pasta, which was tasty. And the wings were sweet in a good way with a lovely chipotle sauce on the side. I had two drinks: the whiskey smash and the Bramble. They were both so sumptuous. The drinks are made really well in this restaurant and have a proper amount of liquor in my opinion. Apparently, Sunday is happy hour all day and the drinks were $8 each instead of the usual $12. The customer service was great! They were kind and fast despite how busy they were. My waiter provided great suggestions and descriptions of the drink and food menu upon our request and I loved it all! This is a definite 5/5. I cant wait to come back again! Highly recommend! read more

The service was wonderful. The food was pretty good. I was very pleasantly surprised since it was my first time trying grits and grillades. The portions are great. I also loved the chicken tenders that came with the chicken and waffles, they were so fresh and delicious. The biscuits were dry, couldn't finish them. And the mimosas, as usual, did not disappoint! I wasn't able to try the shrimp and grits, but the bananas foster was pretty good! The caramel sauce was delicious to dip into, but overall it wasn't anything where you HAVE to try it. The service was alright- nothing special but also the waitress was a bit blunt. I want to come back here for lunch/dinner to give it another try- maybe their brunch just isn't worth it to me! read more

Tried this out as I am new to Baton Rouge. I decided to sit at the bar and was not greeted. I asked for some time to look over the drink menu and was never asked again. When I asked if they made mojitos I was ignored. The guy spoke to everyone but me. Never checked on me asked how my appetizer was or anything. I just left feeling extremely unwelcomed. And as this was my first impression it was a lasting one and not in a good way. Unfortunately I will not be back. The place was cute though. read more

Mimosas are decent, I like the bottomless mimosa idea. Drink as much as you want until 4pm. Unfortunately I am extremely disappointed that they claim to be sold out of French toast. The French toast is what I came for specifically and it's the 2nd week in a row. There is 2 more hours of the brunch menu remaining and they are out. I almost can't even express my disappointment. It is the only French toast option on the menu, I'm baffled. Same statement from the bartender as last week, "we literally just sold out'" as if they are trained say that. That's all I got for this place. And the bartender just said that she is drunk and shouldn't be working right now and she keeps pulling my her cell phone out of her bra. So unsanitary and she shouldn't be sharing that information with customers. So disappointing. read more

At first glance you want to love Olive or twist there is a quintessential vibe and atmosphere that almost screams hang out spot. I went for both their weekly happy hour and Sunday brunch. On both occasions I was strongly underwhelmed by the wait staff who always seemed distracted or bothered whenever he was called upon to wait on our table. Two of my friends had to return their plates because it was under seasoned. Do not get the steak and grits! Or essentially anything with beef in it. Chicken and waffles are good, and the mimosas are good as well. To top of the entire experience, we had to use plastic ware because they 'ran out' of silverware. We gave it two tries, we will likrlynot be coming back read more

This place needs updated menus. We went this past week and tried to order 5 different items and were told they were no longer on the menu. The server even said, "Oh those have not been on the menu for a long time." I'd give it 3 stars because the drinks were strong, and the server was nice. However, even though it was not busy, the food took a while to come out. read more

This restaurant is perfect for a late night meal and drinks. They stay open late and have a nice variety on their menu. The Dirty south chicken sandwich was delicious. It's a great place to sit down and have drinks, but no matter what time of day, they are out of half of what is on their menu.

We decided to try this place again after not having it for a while, but now I'm wishing we didn't even waste our time. We ordered the Poydras poutine as a starter and it looks literally nothing like it's pictured. They may honestly be using great value fries instead of the home cut fries they advertised. I ordered a Couchon debris poboy as a meal and it is a sliver of meat on a literal hot dog bun. For TWENTY FOUR DOLLARS. Again, nothing like it is pictured. Super disappointed this is the place we decided to get lunch from when there are so many other great options. At least the drinks were good. read more

My wife and I came here on a nice evening date. Our main goal was to get the fried crab paws unfortunately they were out. From the looks of it on the outside was packed but we were seated immediately. So having to opt out from the crab paws we order the wings which was delicious. We had nice drinks nothing to strong doesn't take much to get my wife and I tipsy lol. From the bottomless mimosas to the cocktails, the drinks at Olive or Twist are ALWAYS amazing. During last night's visit I saw two other tables drinking this drink that looked very yummy. I inquired with the waiter about it and was told it's called a Pillow Talk. Unfortunately this drink isn't on the menu so not all of the bartenders know how to make it ( I realllly hope that changes soon) but it was SO GOOD. Sweet but not too sweet and refreshing Also - all of the waiters and bartenders here are super friendly and helpful. I've never encountered any rude workers here. The only thing I would change about Olive or Twist is the food selection/quality. The dinner menu is pretty okay and the pasta is yummy. However the brunch menu and quality is lack luster. They keep people coming with their bottomless mimosa deals though. read more

Listen here! I'm a traditional egg roll gal through and through but one bite of the short rib egg rolls had me singing another tune. I was impressed by how much flavorful meat was jam packed into each roll! This item is a must order. The wings were good. They had a chipotle ranch that went along side it. I'd consider them more sweet than "hot." The pasta was okay but I expected it to be loaded with more meat. The drinks we're very impressive and had great flavor profiles. They were also STRONG so be sure to Uber. Overall this is a great option and their happy hour is poppin. Drinks were from their $8 happy hour menu. read more
