I made reservations for the Tunnel for my boyfriend's birthday. I am so glad I did. We arrived…read moreabout ten minutes early and found the entranceway to the speakeasy by the clue given which was such a cool experience. Once in the restaurant, we went to the bar and got their amazing Golden Gatsby cocktail. It was sweet and fruity and had a nice kick to it. The bartender made great drinks our entire visit. I also got an old fashioned which was great. We ordered the beef wellingtons minis and the duck confit tacos which were very yummy. There were not a lot of people there at all. It was us and another couple. We did not have any long wait times at all which was one of the reasons I chose an earlier reservation time not a time later in the afternoon. The ambiance was perfect for date night and the vibe was very intimate. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a romantic evening with their significant other!

There's a stark difference between their drinks and somewhere like city club or colonels club. The quality and craft of the drinks are night and day. This place just doesn't have it figured out when it comes to quality and knowing how to make the drinks. HOWEVER, we went without a reservation and the lady went above and beyond to get us in. Service was great but slow.

I love that they offer a variety of boards you can share, and their drink options are great too. You can sit inside or outside, and they even have live music on some nights, which adds to the atmosphere. The service has always been great every time I've gone. They also have the cutest merchandise available for purchase. It's a great place for date night, hanging out with friends, celebrating birthdays or anniversaries, or just spending time with family. Highly recommend!

When you read the reviews below, most people know what this restaurant is and how it works. My…read moreresponse is less harsh about the service or it's overpriced charcuterie board concept. I have lived in BR for 6 years now. Many departments at LSU take guests there and in that time, Building 5 has done nothing to improve its parking lot. The restaurant sits underneath an overpass and the parking is pothole marked unpaved gravel. This means that there is no room for wheelchairs or accommodations for anyone who is differently-abled to get into the restaurant. The whole restaurant makes no room for handicapped persons. On the occasion I did get food, the food is slightly overpriced. All meats were cooked adequately but the food was lukewarm probably owing to sitting in the kitchen under the heat lamp than being delivered promptly. When I have gone, I regularly have to ask for refills on soda as I am the designated driver often for department functions. Servers pay you no heed if you do not buy alcohol. Because I go here because of academic reasons, I would barely go here myself. I've been here many times and found it wanting. It's an ableist place in its infrastructure. It's fine I'm atmosphere as a cocktail bar but would little recommend it to people I call friend.

Yes, oh yes, Dark 30, yes! A dark bar after my dark little heart. How could I resist stopping in…read morewhen doing a search for cocktails in the area? Impossible. Let's start with ambiance. It's what will lure you in, with a small sidewalk patio that's perfectly inviting (perhaps less so on a 90 degree night) and then you walk in and hit dark nirvana with black walls, stunning patterned accent walls and amber fixtures and lighting. An enormous, really cool chandelier hangs from the very high ceiling. I could probably stay here forever (and I haven't even gotten to the drinks yet). The bartender was really nice, offered us wifi right away so we could use the QR code. I knew I wanted a sparkling rose and she recommended one for me. Then, because my husband asked about mezcal, she made him a cocktail that she's testing out for the menu. On the sweeter side, but delicious and beautifully concocted (I felt fancy as I drank it). Wall art! Oh yes, it's beautiful, too. I particularly admired two huge framed portraits of black cats dressed in finery. Seating is at the large bar or at a number of small cocktail tables lining the wall. What a surprise lurking in sleepy Downtown Baton Rouge. While it's been a while since I've been here, it's in a league of its own in an area that you'll be more likely to find sports bars.
