Cute sports bar vibes. The sports on TV were dog agility and Savannah Bananas so I loved it. Went from Sunday brunch so not very busy. Sat ourselves, and the staff were very nice! They didn't come by a lot, but a waitress told us where we sat gets forgotten about a lot. Overall, we definitely want to come back for dinner! Cajun Benedict - eggs poached pretty well! Hashbrowns were very good Two poached eggs served on top of biscuits with a mix of boudin and barbecue pulled pork, sausage patty, topped with bacon gravy and green onions. Served with your choice of grits or hashbrowns. Breakfast Shepherd's Pie - nothing special but I did like it! Breakfast sausage sauteed with onions, green bell peppers, mushrooms, scrambled eggs and hashbrowns. Topped with bacon gravy, grits and melted cheese. read more

Really good cooking. The shepherds pie is great. Excellent beer selection. Cool atmosphere

Hands down the worst service we have ever received. And guess what..... they added 20% tip on to the bill because they knew they sucked. Food was marginally good but soooooo not worth the horrid service we received. (Not just us, EVERYONE on the patio was ignored) read more

Not as great as the old Londoner, but it's still a decent place. The music is apparently controlled by the bartenders and is variable and usually pretty good and very eclectic. Lots of good pool tables. The food is probably still good although I didn't have any last time I went. One bartender was kind of grumpy, but that's OK. I used to be a bartender and I used to get grumpy sometimes too. read more

We had a really great experience here! We came while driving through since it was dog friendly. We sat on the patio and it was super nice and cool. The service was so great! She was super super friendly and helpful. And was genuinely excited to see our dog! We got our dog some chicken (they have a pet menu) and my husband got the breakfast burger and I got the Buffalo chicken sandwich. We all thoroughly enjoyed! read more

Waitress did not acknowledge us for quite some time. And when she finally did was annoyed with my dog. Lots of smoking on the patio. Which might be typical and is fine. But just a heads up for those who don't want to smell like smoke. Food was good. read more

Bring back the old onion rings please!! The regular flour batter was far superior to the current beer batter!

The service was excellent. The server was very charismatic. I had the BLT croissant and it was delicious.

This is a local bar, and they definitely have the loyalty of it. Food is out of this world EVERY time. I'm convinced their tap beer is not cold enough so I usually get something from a can. They have trivia on Monday I believe, pool tables, dart, and different specials all week. Service is good just like any bar they might forget about you for a while. Wish I could give 3.5 because of their tap and no tv on the patio. read more

I really like this place especially for Sunday brunch. The Breakfast BLT is DELICIOUS and adding avocado to it makes it even yummier. I ordered their breakfast burger for the first time the other day & it was amazing! I'll definitely be ordering it again. I love the Breakfast Shepherd's Pie AND the Shepherd's Pie too. The Cajun Eggs Benedict and the Biscuits & Gravy are also good. If you love cheese, the Cheese Fries and the Grilled Cheese are both good but I always add extra cheese. The Steak & Ale Pie is really yummy too. I've been here lots of times and I've only had a problem with the food once. The hashbrowns were really dry and overcooked. I told the server and he didn't seem to care. He didn't offer to bring me fresh ones, apologize or anything. I guess they were just having an off day. They have a really nice dog friendly patio too. During fall/winter they light the fireplace and the heaters and it's a cool place to come and hangout with your pup. They also have weekly specials like $6 Burger night (Tues.) throughout the week. read more

Food: 4 Service: 4 Ambiance: 4 This used to be The Londoner and now it's The Smiling Dog. They still have some of the classics that were previously served. For a Pub the food here is definitely a solid 4 out of 5 for places is BR. If you're not visiting this spot on Tuesday for their burger& french fry special then youre missing out! It was called the Lincoln Burger, but it's either $6 or $7 now for the combo. The burger is good and the bun has a slight sweetness to it like a Hawaiian roll. The ambiance definitely fits the pub and the service is always solid. I've never had bad service here. It's been average at time and great at times. The Fish & Chips and the Shepherds Pie are solid dishes. read more

Enjoyed the Londoner and happy to see many of same items as till NJ on menu. We like fish n chips, chicken pot pie (puff pastry crust) and sheperd's pie. Miss the sticky toffee pudding. Great selection of beers, though my favorites no longer on tap can still get bottle. One of few places I can get Newcastle Ale. Staff always pleasant, efficient Still habit of the NJ pub atmosphere, dark. Dogs are welcome if been you eat on the patip, a plus for us and our Dog. read more

I've now been here twice... Atmosphere: pool tables, darts and a mix of high tops and booths sets up diverse options depending on what you're looking for. Food: Dinner food was good (loved the Reuben) but brunch (corned beef hash) was lacking flavor. Service: servers were nice, but not particularly attentive either time. I was going to ask for gravy to spice up the corned beef has but the server didn't come back until we were almost done with our food. 4 stars are for dinner and ambiance read more

I've been stopping at this pub on & off for brunch since June of '21, it's been the go-to choice as it brunch menu is rather late than other places I've been interested in going to. The dishes so far have been amazing in quality & flavor, I highly recommend the Cajun Benedict , I've never had poached eggs before, but the flavor combination with the pulled pork on top of the biscuits made my mouth absolutely orgasm ( yes i said orgasm) with flavor. The hash browns that come with the meal are not the ones you'd typically get from waffle house, they're the diced potato kind and at first glance i was unimpressed. Then i took a bite and let me tell you those potatoes were seasoned oh so right, I had to pause for a moment before continuing my meal. The staff is always chill and relaxed, and I have yet to have any sort of gaunt experience with them. The overall aura of the place is always pleasant, although they allow dogs on the deck outside and it's usually not so bad, but the last time I went it was slightly bothersome with the barking but not too unpleasant that it ruined anything. read more

2nd time here. This time I ordered the full dinner size portion of their fish and chips, but subbed the onion rings instead of fries for a nominal $1.00 surcharge. The onion rings were nicely hand cut...not too thin or too thick - perfect thickness and SUPER crispy. The dinner size fish was HUGE... easily a full fish, nice and thick, well fried with a wonderful crisp batter. You've GOT TO COME HERE if craving fish & chips!!!! One of these days I'll come and try their hamburger. Said that last time but I kept craving there fish. LOL read more

A large group of friends and I brunched here after a group exercise in the neighborhood behind the establishment on a Sunday morning. They had two long tables outside perfect for the number of people we had, and they were accommodating with our TV request to watch a special sports event happening. I wish I would have caught our server's name because she was outstanding. She tending to us quickly, checked in several times, refilled our waters quickly, and made sure we had the orders we needed and wanted. I cannot say enough good things about her. Supporting staff was also wonderful, attentive, and pleasant. That in itself will make me put The Smiling Dog back on my list and soon. Bravo! The $3 bloody mary was tasty with the right spice (could have been more, but this was good). It was a good way to recharge after working out in that sun, and it was on the table quickly after ordering. The food was okay, nothing out of this world, but I really didn't ask for anything too special or different. I got the breakfast wrap with plan grits, and it was a nice way to fill up. I didn't want to upset my stomach, so next time I'll go try something a little more adventurous. I will say, the food is 100% better than what I had a few years back here under the previous name. No one complained about their dishes, sure some items could have been modified, but excellent overall. A couple of people had some mimosas and the bartenders made them as requested - lightly dusted with juice. They have $8 bottles of champs you can get if you want them on the table. That's a bargain these days. Oh, and the patio is dog friendly so you can bring your whole family to brunch (and let the cats enjoy some quiet time at home - unless they want to join the fun as well.) read more

Stopped by The Smiling Dog FKA The Londoner for brunch Saturday. Upon entering the host was very friendly and funny! While he sanitized and cleared a booth for us, I noticed the manager politely asking a customer to wear a mask when walking around the restaurant which was very comforting to know that safety measures are taken seriously here. Once seated, we were immediately served water. There was a bit of a wait before our waitress, Tami, came but I soon realized she was the only server working. To know that she had over 6 tables, we didn't mind the slight wait. Tami was very sweet, energetic, and attentive nonetheless and we really appreciated that. What was even more impressive is that she took our whole order without writing one thing down yet our food and drinks came out perfectly! Tami is a 5 star waitress!! I've eaten here before and the quality and taste of the food has been consistent every time. If you're looking for a reliable spot I would recommend The Smiling Dog! We both got the Biscuit&Chops but one with a poached egg and the other scrambled. I got a bowl of grits as my side which I enjoyed! I would best describe their grits to be a smooth and creamy texture. I prefer my grits to be this way so I was very pleased! Oh and I can't forget the best part -- For a whole bottle of champagne and a carafe of OJ only costed $8.00 .... yes 8 bucks! It wasn't even extra for multiple glasses. The champagne used was chilled, light and crisp. I will definitely be returning for brunch more often. read more

I came here for brunch and I was throughly disappointed. The Pub Benedict was fairly priced at $12 but when slicing the eggs to see that soft ooze, I was horrified to see chalky, fully cooked yolks which were a major disappointment. I don't eat cooked yolks at all like that like the chalky texture is something I abhor, the eggs were just watery, and I was pretty pretty upset about it. The orange juice and champagne for $8 is nice but the "champagne" wasn't even champagne but a bottle of very weak "sparkling wine" with a small carafe of orange juice. I ordered the Roxanne Sunset and it's a large cocktail of just so much juice it's the equivalent of a jungle juice hangover which I had later that day. I also tried my friend's Comfortably Numb cocktail and we all agreed that it was very strong and just all around unpleasant. When being seated inside, the wooden floors stuck to the soles of my shoes, and I wasn't really impressed at all about the experience. I personally don't care to come back. read more

Me and the guys went here to check out the Thursday specials which were half off draft beer and half off appetizers. Beers and the gin I had were great and the fries were delicious, I just wish they had regular onions instead of green onions. Besides that it's a very chill spot to hang out. Nice pool tables and dart games to play as well. The bartenders are very knowledgeable of the menu, have a great sense of humor, but most importantly the drink pours are stronger than Hulk Hogan. I will definitely be back to this place! read more

On my second visit here, we tried brunch. The only other time I've been here was years back with some girls for a girl's night out. I remember that was a good experience and I was excited to try brunch here. I regret not coming back sooner. The lunch menu is not overly extensive, but it has something for everyone and lots of Louisiana flair. Did I mention there are Bloody Marys for $3? They also offer a mimosa special that I will definitely be back for. Our server, Mac, was excellent, attentive, and so very friendly. All of that said, the food was the highlight of the experience. See the pics--my son substituted a waffle for the French toast on the Full Monty. There were no leftovers. I had the garden omelet, which was fresh, flavorful, and a really good option if you don't want anything heavy. I had a bite of the Cajun Benedict and the pulled pork was a delicious explosion of flavor atop the poached egg and biscuit. The grits and hash browns hit the mark, and the banger had a great herb flavor. I love the ambiance of the restaurant, transporting you to a different corner of the world. We are excited to return and bring friends back next time! read more

The food is pretty good some of items I really really like other is just eh for me. But the place is clearly prejudiced. I've actually come quite frequently. My experience Varys completely on the color of people I'm with. My last experience with my class mate was so negative we just left. We were basically ignored while classmates (all white) that came after us already ordered food. This accompanied by the other times similar things have happened just make you feel uncomfortable and unwanted and a costumer. Even if the foods good who wants to be treated like they're less than someone else??? For that reason it gets a low rating ‍ read more

My coworkers and I frequent this bar weekly. This is a great go to spot to hang out and play pool, foosball, darts, shuffle board, or even just listen to music. It's right above the Londoner, so you could just walk right upstairs from the restaurant or from the stairwell outside. They do have drink specials on Wednesdays and Thursdays I believe, but I would have to check and take photos next time to confirm. Joey is definitely our favorite bartender and we know for a fact that he works Monday - Wednesdays, so do pay him a visit. Food from the Londoner is served here as well I believe, so don't fret if you get hungry as long as it's not too late for the kitchen. read more

Sigh. I wanted to like this place. Initially the bartender was alright. But if you aren't a regular it's just not the vibe. They never asked my name or took my card. No incentive to stay or to connect. Glad the trust random people without asking for a card or a name, but it isn't an inspiring atmosphere. Very alienating. I get paying special attention to regulars, but even when I called the bartender's name she couldn't be bothered to help me. I hate giving this review. I gave it a couple of hours of trying to connect, but it's not my job as a customer to try that hard while being ignored. read more

My husband and I ate here for the first time today. We got an appetizer of onion rings. They were good, but greasy. We both got the fish and chips. The fish is a large piece of battered fish and way too many fries. The fish was pretty greasy. I forgot to take a picture of our food. My husband liked the fries; I thought they were meh. I took home half of what was on my plate for my husband to eat later. Would I go back? Yes, and will try something different next time. read more

Went to this place for the first time on my partner's birthday and we had a blast! Their menu for alcoholic beverages is endless and from the few drinks we tried I can comfortably say these are the best drinks I've had since I moved to BR. I highly recommend trying the French 75 and the Comfortably Numb cocktails. The food was also an even match with the drinks I tried the Grilled Pleeseburger and their Cajun dry rub wings and had to ask for a to go box to keep myself from scarfing everything down! The restaurant has a very cozy and welcoming vibe to it and our bartender/ waiter for the night had amazing customer service skills. We will definitely be heading back to try some of their weekly specials and sip on some happy hour drinks. read more
