This is a historic building that was once a bank, and it retains its historic murals as well as other features. It's definitely a place to take someone visiting or whom you would like to impress! The menu likewise is impressive, it's created by serious chefs. It includes everything from a simple burger to some fine steaks. I tend to go for the appetizers and small plates. However, they also have some quality seafood as well as Cajun specialties (including a good gumbo). There are regular specials, and the "Soup of the Moment" is also worth trying. They have particularly good charcuterie boards! The service is also great, the staff are dressed all in black, and there are white tablecloths. It's a near fine dine, but not as stuffy as one might expect. Definitely a place worth trying in Downtown Baton Rouge!

She made our evening special by answering all of our menu questions, chatting with us, and even sharing the fascinating history of the building when I asked. The food and drinks were exceptional beautifully presented and absolutely delicious, with thoughtfully balanced flavor profiles in every bite and sip. After a long day of travel, this was exactly the top-notch dining experience we needed. A memorable evening from start to finish. Highly recommend!

These folks got noses like hunting dogs and livers held together by sweet tea and bad decisions. The vibes is allright, and the air has been marinating since Mardi Gras '98. Overall: fantastic time. When I brought this to the attention of who I assume was the manager they kept explaining how the redbulls were a separate charge. There were 2 red bull charges reflecting the two tequila redbulls that I had ordered. I did NOT order 5 well tequilas. If you were going to try and scam someone you should've at least made sure they weren't sober enough to understand. I will be disputing this with my bank. I also took screenshots of two other reviews who shared similar experiences. Stop scamming people. Beware if you go here to drink, please make sure you are being charged correctly. I'd recommend radio bar, pelican to mars, mother's, or george's over them as they care for their customers and would never do this.

I was served a "large" gumbo, and I don't even want to know how small the lesser size serving might be. The Dungeness crab leg thrown into the gumbo was a nice touch -- something to crack it open so you can eat it would have been a really nice touch, too. They didn't have a nut cracker or anything, so I guess that crab leg was decorative? I ordered a house salad, and by dictionary definition I guess it was a salad. It had three ingredients: wilted iceberg lettuce, croutons, and a couple of fridge-aged cherry tomatoes of the flavorless variety. Bet the profit margin on that salad is HUGE! I don't go out to dinner because I want to heap more profit on someone's margins -- I want good food. I can't say enough about the great staff at this restaurant, and I truly mean that.. They're friendly, hard working and they really make you feel special as a customer. The service is nothing less than excellent, and I know what to look for in this regard -- you may have seen my long history of reviews on Yelp. I bet even the staff is bothered by the odor of urine wafting through the restaurant from the men's room. I certainly was. Bottom line: this place could be world-class if it had new management. Let's hope that happens soon.

The Cheese Curds speak for themselves, the buttermilk ranch appears to be made in house and is delicious. The salad is also very good. The combination of parmesan, sunflower seeds and banana peppers is very good and a combo I had never tried before. As far as main courses we had had the following: The Burger Seoul Plant (Philly Cheesesteak) Mac & Cheese Sausage & Kale Canestri Some of the menu items that don't appear to be currently but I had tried are the Hot Chicken Sandwich, Coconut Shrimp Tacos and some other versions of their pasta dishes. The Hamburger Steak use to be on the menu but was removed. However, recently it became available as the Thursday night special. Unfortunately, when we went it was underwhelming. The hamburger patty had zero seasoning and flavor, potatoes were average and the green beans were so salty we couldn't eat them. As far as drinks go, the Prague Ghost is very good. I don't see it on the menu currently however, my Wife ordered it a few weeks ago and they are still willing to make it.

When we walked in there were 3 bartenders, we took a seat directly in front of red head, she didn't greet offer water or anything, Same with the bartender she was heheing with. They became stoned faced & scurried to the opposite end of the bar. However we did notice her demeanor was different when a certain color approached the bar & she was oh so helpful & full of smiles. We sat for quite awhile & started looking for elsewhere, almost as if they were playing rock paper scissors in their head about who was going to serve us, yea. One finally shows up we decided to get a round of drinks & 2 appetizers & go to Tio Javi's hastily. The drinks were sweet, not like they used to be, boudin balls were good, dip lacked luster. When he saw we were leaving so soon, then he tried to compliment my nails. A tip was the furthest thing from my mind but my sis thought I should, but I most definitely wouldn't have. Honey no need, I will never step foot & spend my money here ever again! At this point post the sign on the door, you know, "that sign".
