Great service. Just Ok food. Not my favorite by far. $26 before tip (with a coke). I wanted to try Nooleys since i was in the area. Remember the original. Not as good but they had booths and it was a comfortable and homey place. read more

Nooley's - French dip poboy & fried pickles - Sports Bars Near Me - Prairieville, Louisiana

This place is not good, they advertise their french dip as "piled high" you will be lucky to get 3 ounces of meat, the beef was bland & cold when it came out as well. The lady who *claimed* to be the owner was there and I asked her why so little meat, and she explained in her condescending child-like tone that they weigh each portion, which in my case came out to about 1/8 inch thick of meat at best. So it's not piled high, if it was piled high it would literally be... piled high, which means their updated menu is simply false advertisement. The cheese fries were donkey slop and the wings were overcooked as well. I got the "hottest" flavor which is spicy garlic, they were not good nor were they hot, the ranch wasn't even good lol, I can't make this up. I assume the locals just accept trash food in their community or perhaps y'all have never had proper wings or a legit poboy in your life. read more

Food was ok. Got the Monday French dip special (Aka) charged more for a roast beef po-boy, that's all it was. Fries, weren't real hot. Meat on sandwiches is lacking. If u had 4-5 beers, you'd probably be happy. Wings were decent. Service ok. read more

This was my first time eating here. It's a quaint little dark restaurant that has a bar ambiance. I got the burger of the day which was a steak burger with bacon and barbecue sauce fully dressed. It was delish. I got the combo with curly fries. The fries weren't my favorite. They were a bit thin and had no salt but ketchup helped with that. We also ordered the garlic cheesy bread which was also good and the chicken fries which may have been the star of the show. Overall everything was good and our waitress was sweet, attentive and frie read more

Good food & service. Wings were a banger! Atmosphere and staff was very welcoming and the quality was on point.

I have been coming here since they first opened! I really like the wings, they're super good. The burger is awesome as well, full of flavor. My favorite though would have to be the steak and the chicken bombs. The chicken bombs are heavenly. They're breaded chicken stuffed with cream cheese and jalapeños The only reason I gave them 4 out of 5 is because they are out of steak a lot. There have been many times I wanted it and they were completely out. Other than that, I love it! Oh and the onion rings are incredible! read more

This restaurant is family owned and they really emphasize customer service. The food was the best that I have eaten in a long time. I had the Patton hot sausage sandwich dressed and the bread melts in your mouth. I highly recommend this place. Love this I need them to open one in Chicago (Naperville). read more

I went to Nooley's for the first time for the 6th Annual ETB Wingsgiving, and I was highly impressed. The wings are delicious; the staff were incredibly friendly; and the atmosphere and ambiance of the restaurant were stellar. I live about 30 mins away, but the trip was definitely worth it. I look forward to my next visit to Nooley's, and I can't wait to try more items on the menu. read more

Ate at Nooleys today for lunch, and was very disappointed. The first wing that I ate was bad, so bad I spit it into my napkin, hard not to chuck. Not one to be rude/cause a scene, I patiently waited for the host, but when he came, he gave us the bill in a hurry and left before I could say anything. Paid and left. Called Noolies when I got home and had cooled off, and asked for the owner or manager. Im pretty sure that the person that answered, was my server, and asked "who is this, and what's wrong (or maybe what's going on, i dont exactly remember). At this point, decided not worth the hassle. read more

This place is a hot mess, ordered a shrimp salad which consisted of Old warm brown lettuce and a half filled dressing container. Not to mention on a previous visit a female employee was clearly high as a kit and couldn't keep her eyes open. Oh well, I guess this place had a shelf life. #NotGoodFood read more

I bookmarked this local place quite awhile back and on March 28, 2015 finally had the time and inclination to check it out and I'm glad I did... Greatly enjoyed the Roast Beef poboy! They use sliced roast beef and don't over wet it with the drizzled gravy.... found the bread to be tasty and textured and the regular size poboy to be the perfect size to satisfy a hunger... they also offer a small size which is half the regular... The curly cues were bland but a little LA Hot Sauce and pepper flavored them up and I would recommend springing for the melted cheese on top.. if they offered them with some of that poboy gravy and the melted cheese in my opinion that would take them over the top... Location itself is pretty small with 6-8 4 top tables, 2 pub tables and 4 chairs at the small bar.... they offer about 3 domestic beers on tap... not sure of the depth of the bottled beer selection... But on my stop in service was attentive and timely, the Miller Lite was cold and the poboy was delicious... So glad that I've now located 3 excellent roast beef poboys in Ascension Parish...if you find yourself on LA Hwy 44 near it's intersection with LA Hwy 42 stop in... read more

I dont really line theee food. The French dip gravy was to watery. But the fries were good

My first impression of the place is good. I'm trying out new places in the area since I'm moving close by in a few months. I'm more accustomed to the Baton Rouge area, so I'm hoping for a few good places to go out to eat within a few minutes' drive. My visit was on a Saturday at about 1 pm. The inside is a little rustic, but clean and fairly comfortable. I was greeted promptly and told I could sit anywhere. The atmosphere is family-friendly, but with a small bar area and a few tv's that I'm sure are for sports fans to enjoy. The menu had more than I expected. Sandwiches and poboys are the main focus, but there are a variety of salads, a few plate specials, seafood platters, and apps and sides to choose from. I ordered the oyster poboy and curly fries. My order didn't take long, but there were few other customers in the place, and they left not long after I sat down. The first thing I noticed was that the small order of curly fries was spilling over the container; no skimping there! The second thing I noticed was that everything was very fresh both in appearance and taste. The bread on the poboy was toasted and lightly buttery. The oysters were hot and juicy. It really was a perfect sandwich! Not too messy, either, like some places make their poboys. The fries, as others have stated, come unseasoned, but there is salt, pepper, and Cajun seasoning on the table. The only problem I found was that there were a couple of spots in the curly fries that should have been cut out of the potato as they were black and hard. Overall, my experience was a very good one. The servers were friendly and prompt, and they were very cheery in their work, which is so good to see! I would come back for a drink one evening with my boyfriend to hang out. read more

Little pricy for a lunch sandwich but they have great food nonetheless just don't see how one sandwich would cost $23 with a drink. Fr

Awful- as always. It took us 30 minutes to get our appetizers and 45 minutes to get our food. The appetizer was chicken bombs, and I saw them take it out of the freezer bag and drop in fryer- not fresh. I had the hamburger steak and it was literally the smallest hamburger steak we've ever seen with a small helping of mashed potatoes. The menu promised homemade gravy and you could tell it's gravy straight from a packet. My husband had the fried shrimp poboy that came out dressed incorrectly after waiting 45 minutes for it. On top of that, upon further inspection, the shrimp were not Louisiana gulf shrimp. Why would you serve anything but gulf shrimp on a poboy in South Louisiana? Wings were dry as well. We would like to support Nooley's because they are close to our home but we are better off getting food at the gas station around the corner in the future read more

Everything we have tried is great. Fried pickles & fried mushrooms were fantastic. All the sandwiches we have tried are delicious.

First time here.... very dark inside.... ordered the the French dip poboy. It's says it's home made but looks store bought. Looked beautiful but no flavor. Asked for extra extra crispy curly cues and they weren't even cooked all the way had to send them back to at least be cooked normal. My daughter got the kids shrimp basket good amount of food for a kid looked good but shrimp were way over cooked and very rubbery. I will come back to try other items but not a good impression on the first visit read more

After participating in the Warrior Dash this past weekend, my friend in I were in need of some food! Nooley's delivered. Sitting at the bar, we placed an to-go order. The owner was very nice and personable. While he took our orders he made suggestions, as I had never been there before. He was short on staff so things were running a little slow. Fine by us, we needed to rest our feet. We ordered two steakburgers, fries, onion rings, and fried pickles. Orders were out about 25 minutes later. Worth the wait I would say. They traveled well (some fast food gets soggy), and once home we seemed to inhale that food. The burger was great! The fries needed salt, no worries I added my own. Onion rings and fried pickles were quite good as well! I would say next time I find myself visiting in Prairieville, I wouldn't mind making another stop at Nooley's. I think it is great to support local restaurants! read more

I loved this place. We went there on a Sunday night. Business was a little slow. The wait staff is super friendly and as other customers started rolling in she still checked in with us and did a great job. Now to the good stuff....the food was awesome. I got the French dip and the hubby got a steak burger. They were both outstanding and even though it is a bit of a drive from our home in St. Amant, we will definitely eat there again. read more

Food is pretty good, but their to-go ordering is terrible. This has happened twice now. We call to order food, they ask to put me on hold. No big deal. They set the phone down to where you can hear everything going on, FOR 15 MINUTES. We hang up to try to call back, but you can't get connected because the phone is still off the hook. Waste of everyone's time. read more

First, you better order an appetizer if you want to leave filled. 2nd time I have eaten here and both times I left underwhelmed and feeling like I just paid to eat off the kiddie menu. I know we eat potions that are too big but I go out to eat exactly for that reason. I don't mind bringing food home. Often I feel like I can't eat everything, but not here. Had the BBQ roast beef poboy the first time. Meat inside, if I was lucky was 3/8" thick. Next time had the saucy chicken sandwich. I was expecting a full chicken breast, like most chicken sandwiches. Not this one, 1/4 inch sliced chicken tenders (literally sliced). The tomato was thicker than the chicken. Not to mention most of an already small sandwich was lacking meat, about three small cutlets on each sandwich. I wish now I would've taken a picture. But the absolute smallest bun I've ever been served and the minimum amount of toppings to boot. If you're looking to fill up, drive on, this isn't for you. Food was alright in taste, nothing spectacular but nothing bad either. read more

Wings as good as pluckers! Hard to find wings that are large, great flavor, and not over breaded. This place has excellent wings and plenty of sauce. Only negative is that I don't care for shoe string fries but that's a personal preference. We eat here instead of pluckers now. read more

I was pretty disappointed this evening with our to go order and wished I read the reviews before placing my to go order. My husband eats here in the restaurant and so he recommended it for tonight, but we wanted to stay in. Ordered food to go. When I went to pick it up, the food wasn't ready (not a big deal) but the fries were soggy...the wings were dry...and my French dip poboy was smashed under all the food (the poboy actually measured under 1" in height, it was so smashed)... plus we didn't receive our salad from the catfish platter. From what my husband says the to go platter is MUCH smaller than the platter he gets when he goes in the restaurant. From what the reviews show, eating inside the restaurant must be where it's at. Never going to get another to go order from here again. And now my husband says he's probably not going to go to the restaurant again. I definitely won't recommend this place. read more

Tonight was our first time trying Nooley's. My husband and I split a ham & cheese poboy and my son got the roast beef poboy. We also got a side of fried pickles and loaded curly fries. The roast beef poboy had no gravy/sauce, which every other I have had in Louisiana has had gravy. The fries were cold, and when we sent them back, we were double charged. The ranch for the pickles is nothing special, probably out of a bottle. Oh, and there were no cheese sticks available even though they're on the menu. Overall, not impressed. read more

I just ate at Nooley's for the first time yesterday and the food was great! I got the Cuban poboy with cheddar cheese and it was awesome! The bread was great. I DO NOT see 1 reason why ANYONE would rate this place anything below 5 stars. Nooley's was a popular restaurant in the Baton Rouge area during the 1980s and early 1990s. The locations around town closed (not sure why--maybe the soft economy), and the restaurant went into limbo for about 15 years. A former manager of one opened Jazz Daddy's in Southeast BR, which has many of the Nooley's items, and then the son of the original owner opened Nooley's in Prairieville/Galvez. The Prairieville Nooley's is awesome, and it has most of the original items found in the original menu. Many people try and resurrect old restaurants for nostalgia purposes and fail miserably, but Nooley's is certainly a counterexample. I have gone many times, and I have never left disappointed. They even have the thin-cut curly fries that they were known for 20-30 years ago. If I had any gripes, they are minute. It would be nice if the fries could have some seasoning, but they have Louisiana seasoning salt to make up for it. Second, they could have a decent dessert menu, but most people, if they order correctly, will leave Nooley's with a strong enough appetite that dessert is needless. Third, it would be nice if Nooley's opened a good, standalone restaurant in Baton Rouge proper. They had one nestled within a daiquiri bar for a brief period of time. Expanding would be a nice idea if done conservatively. Despite my third wish, I love making the commute to Prairieville/Galvez for Nooley's. It's great! read more
