The burgers are always fresh, the tables are always full of happy conversations and the scent of burgers hits you as soon as you open the door. If you order Togo it's done in 10-12 minutes and it's typically an in and out experience. I'm never there long and the staff is polite but not overly warm. I don't mind it because it really is such a nostalgic experience for me. They close pretty early so plan to be there no later than 2(at least that's always my plan). Every piece of kitchen equipment I could see from the front counter was disgusting. I highlighted just one of the photos. The prep time for the burger was average. I did notice the establishment is frequented by groups of males on lunch breaks. My meal came out on a flimsy paper plate on a red tray. The tray was dirty and greasy, like it was already used by another customer and not cleaned. The table had seasonings and ketchup. The only clean item was the ketchup. The pepper shaker was disgusting. The Cajun Seasonings was clumpy and would not come out of the container. The burger patty was not even warm enough to melt the cheese. I was vastly underwhelmed by the overcooked and unseasoned burger served on the dry crunchy bun. There was a very decent lunch crowd on a Saturday. I sat by an old man who was just obsessed with picking his nose, no shame. After making prolonged eye contact, he took the hint and proceeded to use a napkin. Whatever was in there was important, as he had zero social Grace. Fries were great, but not great enough reason to return. There is a 3.5% charge to use credit card. so I visited Riverside Patty on yesterday I ordered two bacon cheeseburger meals once I return to work with me and my coworkers food I noticed that they had left the bacon off both our burgers. So I called the restaurant to inform them of the mistake and they asked me to come back to the restaurant immediately. Let him know that I was at lunch and cant return with my food and would like a credit for the bacon on my burger. when I asked for the refund for the bacon on my burger, he immediately started yelling. I've been hearing about this place for some time and I finally got to try it. I know some people complain about the older gentleman but I was pleasantly greated by a younger guy. Last Friday I had the pleasure of trying Riverside Patty for the first time. I looked up burgers in Baton Rouge on Yelp a couple weeks back and added this to my list of places I haven't tried. I'm so so glad I found this place and finally tried it because it was so great!! The restaurant itself is so nostalgic and old-timey. There was one man who took our order, cooked our food, and brought it out to us and he was super kind. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger and a side of boudin balls. The burger was so delicious!! It's exactly what I want in a classic burger and it was just so simple and good. The boudin balls were great as well, they were crispy on the outside which I absolutely loved. My boyfriend and I went on a Friday evening and were the only two in the restaurant and I'm sure they do well but I feel as though they deserve some more business and recognition for such great food at such reasonably low prices! I found this restaurant while heading to one of my favorite local breweries and decided to pop in for lunch to-go. And while this may have been the first visit, it definitely will not be the last! The exterior of the restaurant is very unassuming, but inside the menu is quite large. There were a ton of selections and it was very difficult to decide what to order. I was shocked that my Gator Bites and huge cheeseburger only totaled $10.22! Everything here is completely cooked to order so I had the privilege of seeing other customer's food delivered from the kitchen before mine was ready. Yesterday, I order a burger & crawfish pies. The burger was actually pretty good. However I was not impressed with the service. Either the older guy or someone else in the back accidentally made me meat pies. I understand people make mistakes. When I tried to tell the older man that either him or someone else had accidentally made meat pies, he was trying to convince me that they were crawfish pies. When I finally approach the man again and this time he looked at the pies. Instead of him apologizing, he just shrugged his shoulders. He said he would make the actual crawfish pies this time. Walking into Riverside Patty, the place doesn't look like anything special. Unfortunately for it, the feeling continues throughout the entire meal. I mean, listen, the burgers are fine (if you like yours well-done) and the sides are fine, too. But that's just it--there's not really anything special going on here. One of my friends commented that he liked the patty melt, but it looked generic to me as well. I expected more from this dive-y restaurant, especially given the Yelp reviews and the price. I'll give credit where credit is due; the meal will fill you and there isn't really anything to complain about, but it isn't food worth writing home about either. I've definitely had better burgers and I'd probably choose Five Guys over Riverside Patty given the opportunity. That doesn't mean you shouldn't come here, however. Riverside Patty is a chill place to get a reasonably-priced meal with your friends or colleagues. The menu is extensive enough to satisfy most, but I wouldn't bother bringing a vegetarian.
