Got take out for my MIL's birthday, we were pleasantly surprised. We got less popular stuff: -smoked duck (cheaper than the peking, don't have to order 2 hours in advance, still great if you're ok with smoked, drier meat, comes with the peking duck accoutrements, takes about 20' to prepare), -shrimp with egg and napa cabbage (a semi-stew, the eggs were out of this world, probably my favorite dish) -pickled cabbage with lamb meat clay pot (a soup, authentic chinese pickled cabbage with bean noodles, a close second best) -eggplant with garlic and fish filet clay pot (my least favorite, fish filets are fried and the sauce is that "american chinese" sauce, but still tasty in a panda express kind of way) -braised fish maw with crab meat (really good, expensive because of the maw, was the one "traditional expensive Chinese ingredient" dish we decided to get). Would've gotten the dry fried pork intestine too if we needed another dish. Parking is tricky - don't drive past it on El Camino otherwise it's a huge hassle to get back around, I advise turning right before Ipoh Garden and going through the back street - plenty of parking on that street or in the small rear lot that belongs to the restaurant. The cumin lamb also had a lot of oil, but it was pretty delicious. The meat is very tender and flavorful, also with a kick of spice. Fantastic with rice. We were really disappointed here today. A foodie friend recommended it and the reviews here on Yelp and elsewhere are consistently above average. We ordered Peking Duck, one of their signature dishes a day in advance as required. On arrival, the duck slices were cold and frankly, bland. They were served with a duck soup (lukewarm) that was not especially tasty. We also ordered the string beans which were very good. About 15 minutes after the soup & slices of duck arrived we were given the rest of the duck on the bone. This was hot and tasty. Given the number of above-average reviews, we will try Royal Feast again. We will not order the $68 Peking duck. read more

This place was originally listed as a sichuan joint and I've put in a request to change it to chinese, since the cuisine is beijing food if anything. That being said, it's quite good beijing food. My mom and her sisters are from there and they've really taken a shining to this place. We did a special chefs menu for my mom's birthday where they basically asked how much we wanted to spend per person and went from there. Some of the really interesting stuff we had included a duck stuffed with glutinous rice, and some excellent cold appetizers. I called several days before lunch to preorder peking duck. The man who answered the phone had a heavy Chinese accent and was virtually l impossible to understand. I bet he felt that way about my English! I did stress to him that I wanted the duck to be " extremely crispy" It was not and very bland. The duck soup tasted like dishwater! The "fried rice" was simply white rice interspersed with cut up vegetables. The place appears to be suffering from an employee shortage. There was no cashier, no host and just one waiter. Belated thanks and props to Royal Feast for hosting a funeral wake for our family. It was tricky to find a place that could work with our group size, timing, and dietary needs, but this place worked out perfectly. Chef produced a multi-course extravaganza of amazingly tasty and authentic Szechuan food - a veritable banquet. We lucked out and got parking out in front just as they opened for dinner. We loved the spicy fish fillet soup. It had a slight amount of fat floating on the top that added additional flavor. The Ma Po tofu was also good. Very fresh tofu and mildly hot sauce. The green onion pancake was thick and a bit doughy. We all preferred the thinner versions that have more crispy outside. Right now until End of March(2017), you will only have to pay $28 for 3 dishes. Soup, peking duck, and stir fry duck bone. To be honest, everything was good, but the duck bone was SO flavorful! The good: Fish maw with crab meat. I feel that it was too light for the type of food presented at the restaurant. Everything here is very rich in flavor and so if you eat this after eating everything else, the flavor gets masked. Stir fry green beans was good-- flavorful. Dan dan noodle was delish, but definitely not for the faint of heart due to the heat. The wonton in chili oil was good, typical like the other restaurants. The ok: Meat pie-- I've had way better. One of the best Chinese places in the Bay Area hands down. One of the few places that would survive and do well in the 626. I really wish they had outdoor dining otherwise I would come every other week. Their Peking duck is one of the best around but besides that we really like shrimp with Napa and egg and pork with preserved veg, crispy fried pork chop, and bone in chicken with numbing spice. I stayed overnight at a nearby hotel since I had a flight departing SFO the next day. It was just about dinner time and after having checked Yelp for 4.5+ star restaurants nearby, walked about 15-minutes to Royal Feast. Because it was early, the restaurant wasn't quite full, but there were a number of family-style tables that seat 7-10+ and very few tables that seat 1-2. At any rate, I didn't order a lot since it was just me, so I quite enjoyed their shredded pork in garlic sauce. Service seemed attentive -- I guess the perspiration after eating their spicy dish was an indication to fill this guy's glass with water! Came here last weekend on my trip to SF since it's so close to SFO and I was not disappointed. The portions were very large and very tasty. I ordered the Dry Fried String Bean, Cumin Lamb, and the Creamy Crispy Shrimp, much more than enough for two people. The string beans are crispy and melt in your mouth, the lamb wasn't super oily like a lot of places and went really well with rice, and the creamy shrimp tasted like candy. Street parking was pretty busy, but there is a parking lot in the back if you go around the block. I'll be coming back here on my next trip to SF. read more

Since covid there has been a lot of hype about their Peking duck circulating in wechat food delivery groups so I was curious to try it out. Peking duck is not something I would try as takeout even if I can reheat in air fryer -- it just won't be Peking duck. Called up my foodie friends and made a reservation. We had Peking duck 3 ways, Peking duck with wrap, duck bone soup, and sautéed duck bone with bean paste. Peking duck was roast duck at most, wrapper wasn't great, hoisin sauce was way too salty /so use sparingly, soup and sautéed dish was pretty good. Dry fried string beans was a bit soggy, dried fried cabbage pretty good. Sliced Hot Pot Beef Rice Noodle not bad. All in all the chef is pretty good with the wok hay of all the sautéed and stir fry dishes but like most China cuisines that is not cantonese style, it's on the oily and salty side and just a bit too much for my stomach to deal with. If your idea of Peking duck is more like roast duck or you prefer non Cantonese style of Chinese food, this restaurant might be a good choice for you. We walked into Royal Feast restaurant by accident . This place was so awesome ! The chef had represented China to BOCUS D'OR World Cuisine contest in Lyon Eurexpo. He was the only chef chosen to represent China, which was one of only 22 countries in the competition. The fish filet eggplant clay pot we ordered was out of this world. It was a very tender and mild white fish filet cooked with fresh garlic, minced green onions and eggplant. The eggplant had a natural sweetness to it. This dish was served in a piping hot clay pot. A perfect Chinese dish. I also order a roasted beef noodle soup, traditional Chinese Style. The beef was nicely flavored and tenderly cooked. It was served with fresh bok choy and fresh noodles. This dish was also very nicely done. This truly is world-class Chinese cuisine for a very reasonable Neighborhood Restaurant price.
