Small place in Millbrae. Food was out pretty quickly and everything was tasty and reasonably priced.

Excellent food- met the chef. My mom comes here often. Our first time here - group of 9 with 4 kids and 5 adults. The appetizers were great - tofu and eggplant. Mapo tofu was so good even my 7 year old ate it. The Peking duck was surprisingly good. The sautéed cabbage was numbing spicy but so tasty also. The steamed fish was so delicious I would get two next time for such a large group. Fish was so fresh. Nice staff even thought they were short staffed. Will try the cold persimmon dish next time!

We can for a table of 8 family dinner and the serving was adequate. The interior was set for banquet style services, so it was average but can feel a bit crowded at times. The ordered Peking Duck, lamb clay pot, tan tan noodles, pine nut crispy fish and a few other dishes. They were all good EXCEPT for the Peking duck, it was not as crispy as we hoped for. Otherwise the pricing is good for large portion family style feast.

I've loved Royal Feast for over 10 years, but my two recent takeout orders left me disappointed. The Chong Qing Fried Chicken batter was way too thick and hard with more batter than meat. The Pickled Cabbage Claypot Soup lacked the intense flavors it use to have ans seemed watered down. Are they trying to save money and cut corners? New chef or owner? Not sure, but hugely disappointed on the decline.

Food - We loved most of the dishes! - Dishes were a good size, cane timely. - Spicy! But I live the numbing spice. - The noodle dish came last. Thought that would be the first to come. Service - Great service, fast! - They have birthday music to play when it's time to sing! Ambiance - Sort of a tight space between the tables. - Many big tables to sit big parties. We still had to wait about 15 minutes with reservations. Comfort food. Felt authentic. We would come back!

I went here a few times and this place is absolutely amazing. My partner and I were craving fried fish and they didn't have it on their menu but the server had the chef make it for us She is so sweet!!! The place is nice and homey! The food was soo good too!

After a lot of Thanksgiving feasting, we were ready for a more simple meal -- Royal Feast hit the target!

Nothing we had was out of the ordinary or stood out. In fact, the fried rice tasted bland and dry, as did the duck. Duck should be tasty enough on its own where you don't need to put sauce on it. The fish could have used more seasoning too. The honey walnut shrimp had way too much mayo and was small portion size of the shrimp; majority of the plate was those pink shrimp chips. Service was good and they have a private room for a larger party.

Searching for peking duck without ordering in advance so decided to check this out & try some other dishes: Hot & Sour Soup- one of the better prepared soups in the peninsula as it was filled with bamboo shoots, wood ear mushrooms and the balance of spice & acid was perfect. Mapo Tofu - good heat and spice and a little heavy on the Sichuan peppercorn as the tingly sensation was evident but still and a delicious dish. Shrimp Hong Style Noodles - excellent preparation of crispy noodles with a variety of prawns & veggies and not drowning in sauce so the noodles still had crunch. Peking Duck- a generous portion served with the pancake style which is very enjoyable paired with the Hoisin, scallions & cucumber. The duck itself was tasty however it could have been rendered a little more as the fat was quite visible and the skin should have been more crispy. The bonus when ordering this dish is that they bring out the fried bones with black bean sauce which was a nice treat even though we were plenty full. Overall, good service and well flavored dishes so a return visit is definitely in the future.

This was pretty good. We had the dumpling and duck. Have to call in and reserve the duck. They give you a lot! Crispy skin and some with meat and crispy skin if that's what you like. It was delicious. I docked a star because the thin wrap was a bit too chewy for my taste and the dipping sauce was a bit bitter. But otherwise it was delicious. Parking was tough but you can find parking just have to walk a ways to get here. There is also street parking if you're lucky.

We might have ordered the wrong dish, but we weren't impressed with what we got. It also seems like the Yelp reservation system isn't very reliable, when we arrived, the server seemed confused but seated us anyway. The place is small, but we were seated comfortably. Overall, 3 stars. Only dish I can really talk about would be Fish Fillet with Garlic and Eggplant Clay Pot Good, nothing special but it's not bad at all.

My mom wanted to come here for lunch and said she went with her friends the other day and it was really good! It is under a newer ownership and I don't know how the food was before, but it was very good and the price was outstanding at least for the lunch specials we had especially these days when a sandwich or burger elsewhere costs me 18-20.00 each! It started out with hot and sour soup which is the soup I really like! Then we ordered sweet and sour pork, but they misunderstood and brought us shredded pork with garlic sauce( think it is also called Szechuan pork?). Now this is not the regular bright red Cantonese sweet and sour pork I was expecting! My mom explained this is Northern Chinese and Beijing kind of sweet and sour chicken which was fried and in a kind of honey looking sauce( kind of color of honey glaze so I'm thinking of a honey type sauce)! This was deep fried and crunchy and very good! My mom's favorite! I'm not into sweet stuff, but it was delicious! The pork was like kind of large flat and thin spareribs type of meat. 5 stars! The accidental dish they brought was MY favorite! It had mixed vegetables thinly julienned like bamboo, I don't know if cucumber or zucchini, wood fungus/or mushrooms, etc. The sauce was absolutely delicious and different slightly sweet and savory at the same time with a slight vinegary taste! Whatever the mix, I could have just ate the sauce lol especially on the rice! Next time I love eggplant and will try this with the eggplant as I think this sauce would be delicious with eggplant. I didn't notice but this sauce would be good for a vegetarian dish as well! 5 plus stars for this! We tend to like eating more vegetables so my mom's favorite ordered shrimp with mixed vegetables which had broccoli and bok choy, bamboo, mushrooms and in a white sauce. I usually don't like seafood or shrimp( other than crab and honey walnut shrimp lol- who doesn't like that?!), but this was also yummy! 5/5 stars. I felt like I was in one of those old Chinese drama sets as that is what the interior reminded me of and I kept staring at this HUGE crab in the tank! Next time I want to try their crab! They graciously deducted the accidental dish on our bill, but I know how tough restaurants are having after COVID and in this inflationary economy, I gave them money to cover that dish as well since I loved it so much! And really if my mom didn't tell me to come here I always bypassed it bc it kind of looks like an old fashioned temple outside or something-maybe the bright red and green color!? I am weird like that and I was pleasantly surprised! Oh and despite the main interior off to the side was a beautiful banquet room! They could fit up to 18 on one table even and have different size accommodations which is great for my large family as we have a hard time fitting all of us at one table which is 21 people usually! They were saying that the General Counsel and ambassadors would come and that is their special room to eat or meet! So it is pretty nice( remember gold colors)! I found a place to do my parent's birthday! Best about this place is the lunch menus was like 9.00-10.00 an entire entree/meal( we split it like Chinese family style with rice already separated in a bowl). I glanced at the main menu and from what I remember 10-12.00 entrees so reasonable! Some Asian restaurants in that area are 18-28.00/ dish these days! Parking is in the back which is kind of awkward bc if you miss it you have to go back all the way around. From the front there looks like a parking lot on their side BUT it is for the Vietnamese restaurant next door with large tow away signs. There are plenty of spots on the curb though! One last thing they have those stuffed burgers that I have seen lately in like a crispy flaky kind of roti or pita type( hard to explain more like a paratha or green onion pancake kind of bread). I can't wait to try that bc hard to find those! I definitely will be back- the owners are gracious and sweet family, love to support local business and great prices in this day and economy and the main thing DELICIOUS food! YUM!!!
