Everything we ordered was good! We got the salt and pepper crispy tofu, which was golden and crunchy on the outside with a soft center, served with a sweet chili dipping sauce and topped with green onions and crispy garlic. The beef macaroni was super flavorful and savory, with tender slices of beef tossed with macaroni. For dessert, we tried the Ovaltine French toasts: creamy, chocolatey, and not overly sweet..so yummy!!! Overall, everything was flavorful, comforting, and satisfying. Definitely a great spot for a filling meal with a little bit of everything! read more

First time at New Broadway bistro. The restaurant inside is spacious with a lot of tables and tv. The Singapore style noodles had a light curry flavor and thin rice noodles. For $17, there is a lot to be desired. The bbq pork was dry. Overall, it ran pretty dry. The service was good at least. Street parking only read more

The restaurant has a big, roomy space. Unfortunately, the food didn't feel very authentic to Hong Kong café-style cuisine. Service was extremely slow, it took about 35-50 minutes for all of our dishes to arrive. There were only two waitresses handling both dine-in and takeout orders, so the staff seemed overwhelmed throughout the meal. We ordered the iced Hong Kong milk tea and iced lemon tea. The milk tea lacked the smooth, silky texture and rich evaporated milk flavor you'd expect from a proper HK-style milk tea. The lemon tea had a strong tea flavor, but the lemon itself wasn't sour or fragrant enough to balance it out. It also seemed like regular white sugar was used instead of traditional yellow rock sugar, so the drinks missed that classic Hong Kong café aroma and depth. For appetizers, we tried the salt and pepper chicken wings and salt and pepper fish. Both were crispy, flavorful, and well-seasoned, but you could also tell the frying oil wasn't very fresh. We also ordered the baked seafood spaghetti and baked beef tongue spaghetti. Both dishes were disappointing, not enough cheese, overly thick sauce, and an artificial-tasting flavor. The standout dish of the night was definitely the seafood pan-fried noodles. The noodles were nicely crispy, the seafood to vegetable ratio was generous, and the gravy sauce tied everything together well. Overall, the food didn't really deliver the authentic Hong Kong-style flavors we were hoping for. A few dishes were decent, but the long wait times and inconsistent quality made this a 3-star experience for us. read more

No food pictures this time, arh! We were busy entertaining guests from HK and they enjoyed the food! Saturday dinner time everywhere was packed, except here. I was a bit worried at first, but just glad we could grab seats for a party of 6. Service was nice, the lady helped us take pictures and packed left over. She was friendly when I inquired before order and was helpful when we added more orders. We ordered a pot of chicken soup, tofu and fish clay pot, string beans with eggplant, fried pork intestine, dried scallop and egg white fried rice, chicken and veggie stirfry, pan fried noodle with bean sprouts and pork, and they are all delicious! This is a long-standing HK-style cafe in our memory, so glad its reputation still carries well. read more

Visited at 3:30p on a weekday. No wait and the restaurant had plenty of seating. Quickly offered the menu and it had lots of Hong Kong cafe options including dishes typically only available in the morning. Order Scrambled Egg with Shrimp Chow Fun and a milk tea. Food arrived quickly. The milk tea was deep bold in black tea flavor balanced with creaminess of the condensed milk. Sweetness was just right for me and I don't typically add sugar to my teas or coffee. The Chow Fun was a large order but since I had a very light breakfast. I devoured the entire dish. The noodles were tender, and slightly chewy. The shrimps were plump and the egg gravy was smooth, velvety, glossy, and slightly thick enough to coat the noodles. The dish was flavorful yet some how light. The staff isn't too friendly but they are efficient. They did not rush us to leave even after we long finished our food and was just chatting away. Although a bit on the expensive side, I would definitely come back. read more

I was in the area and craving a good cup of hot Hong Kong milk tea, so my friend and I decided to come here. We arrived at noon and didn't have to wait for a table. I ordered from their lunch special menu, which includes an entrée and a drink. I got the green onion pork chop over rice with a fried egg, and of course, a hot Hong Kong milk tea to go with my meal. My meal came with two pieces of pork chop and a fried egg. The pork chop was a bit dry, if it comes with a sauce that would be good. The milk tea was good and really hit the spot. Would I order this again? Maybe not--but I would come back to try other dishes because their Hong Kong milk tea is solid, and it's a great place to chat and catch up. The space is clean and spacious. There's a parking lot in the back, and street parking is also available, so parking isn't an issue. read more

The Ovaltine French toast caught my attention so I made a stop for lunch with my son. After cutting through the French toast, I was instantly intrigued! It was super "jiggly" when it came out, and I definitely was not expecting sweet milk to be flowing out of it. It was delicious and not overly sweet. I also ordered a iced red bean milk, which was delicious! The baked pork chop spaghetti was super saucy which I liked, but the flavor was a bit bland. Over all, I had a positive experience as the restaurant was spacious, clean and the staff were super friendly. I could tell there was a lot of loyal customers. read more

My wife and I stopped by New Broadway Bistro at 6:00 p.m. on a Wednesday afternoon. If you're unfamiliar with the area, parking here is very difficult. Since we came at prime dinner hour, we needed to circle around the block for about 15 minutes before we found a parking spot. New Broadway Bistro was suspiciously empty when we arrived, with only three other seated parties. Between the two of us, we shared two entrees: the baked pork chop over fried rice, and the beef stew over crispy noodles. The beef dish was pretty light on how many pieces of beef were included, but the dish itself was curry heavy, very saucy and quite enjoyable over the extra large serving of crispy noodles. I only was able to eat half of the dish and had to pack the rest to go. The beef pieces had just the right amount of chewiness to them and a good balance of tendon to lean meat. The baked pork chop dish that I tried here was definitely not the best that I've had in the Bay. I've had better fried rice bases elsewhere and generally prefer for there to be more mozzarella cheese melted on top. The pork chop was fine, but nothing amazing -- a tad dry if anything. Our meal with the two entrees and a lemon tea ended up being around $51 after tax and a 18% tip. New Broadway Bistro satisfied my craving for Hong Kong diner food, but there are better spots elsewhere. Rounding my 3.5 rating up to a 4. read more

1 Seafood Baked Rice Wow! Look at the big shrimp, fish, and scallops! There are so many! The cheese on top is golden, beautiful, and so cheesy. My friend eats it and the cheese pulls long, long, long! I want to eat it too! 2 French Toast with Milk and Ovaltine Oh my god! This is so special! The bread smells sweet and soft, just like a pineapple bun. When you cut it, the milk and Ovaltine flow out like a waterfall! The bread is full of sweet milk. It is SO yummy! 3 Beef Short Ribs with Fried Egg Rice I tried one piece from my friend. The beef is so juicy and yummy! You get a big plate of rice and a drink for one person. Next time, I will order this for myself! 4 Satay Beef Fried Macaroni My friend ordered this. It smells so good! I tried one spoon and--Wow! The satay taste is so rich, but it is not too salty. It is just perfect! 5 Baked Spaghetti with Meat Sauce I love pasta! I took one bite and said, "Oh my god!" The tomato taste is so strong. Every bite has a lot of meat sauce, and the noodles are so bouncy. It is very good! No wonder this restaurant is open for more than 18 years! Was craving some dishes I am used to eating growing up so decided to try New Broadway Bistro! Plenty of parking outside and interior of restaurant looks very new and clean :) Service was alright - not super attentive despite not being busy As for the food: 1. Salt and Pepper Chicken Wings - Absolutely delicious! Perfectly seasoned and extremely crispy. The breading is very light and the meat inside was hot and juicy! 2. Seafood Pan Fried Noodles - Definitely hit the spot! It brought a lot of nostalgia for me personally. Was well seasoned and exactly what it should taste like. Plenty of seafood comes with the dish. My only note would be that because it comes with the noodles with the gravy already on top, the noodles do get quite soggy and break apart. Definitely still very delicious and didn't feel super heavy! Not sure if it's the Bay Area pricing, but would not rate this a $ restaurant. Would definitely come back though! read more

好吃到连天上的神仙都边哭边抢! This place doesn't just serve food, it stages a full sensory performance. Every dish lands with the kind of authenticity that feels like it traveled straight from a bustling street in Hong Kong to your table, no shortcuts taken. The flavors are bold, balanced, and unapologetically real. The service matches the food perfectly. The staff moves effortlessly between Cantonese and English, making the entire experience smooth, welcoming, and genuinely thoughtful. This feels less like ordering and more like being guided through a menu they truly believe in.The Oreo French toast is dangerously good, the kind of dessert that makes you question your self-control after the first bite. The stir-fry macaroni beef is equally memorable, a creative twist that somehow feels both comforting and exciting at the same time. Come hungry, leave impressed, and don't even think about skipping dessert. read more

Ever since the Broadway Bistro changed ownership, I hadn't had a chance to try it. After seeing a YouTuber recommend it, I decided to give it a shot. We ordered the beef chow fun, deep-fried chicken thigh with egg over rice, salt & pepper fish, lemon tea, and Ovaltine French toast. The beef chow fun was very flavorful, with plenty of tender beef. I especially liked the noodles--they had great wok hei. I was also happy to see deep-fried chicken thigh over rice on the menu, since I usually have to go all the way to Sunset (Tak Kee) to satisfy that craving. The chicken thigh was crispy on the outside and juicy inside--really satisfying. The salt & pepper fish had a nice crispy texture, but it was lacking that signature salt and pepper flavor. The lemon tea was legit and refreshing. I would skip the Ovaltine French toast. The deep-fried toast flavor overpowered the Ovaltine, even though it was sprinkled on top. I'd recommend going with the peanut butter French toast instead. Overall, I'd definitely come back to try more dishes. read more

Food was delicious and the lemon ice tea is refreshing. Also ordered the spicy salt fish fillet for appetizer and that was very flavorful. Interior is open and lively. Wall feature included nice living moss art which I haven't seen since my trip to Sweden. Staff are very friendly and helpful. 4 stars instead of 5 because sauces such as soy sauce and chili aren't already at the table and has to be asked for. Though I can also appreciate it not already being at table as well, keeps it cleaner. read more

Came here after a hike for a quick lunch and was pleasantly surprised. Everything was delicious and the prices were very reasonable. The beef was incredibly tender and flavorful. The pork chop was good too ; though it could be a bit more tender. The fried tofu was excellent: crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, though I personally prefer a soy-garlic dipping sauce. The staff were super friendly and greeted us with big smiles. Overall, a great spot. I'll definitely be back! read more

tl;dr: A good neighborhood option with reasonable prices. Good, friendly service. Everything was slightly under-seasoned to what I typically like; but I suppose that's better than things being too salty or too sweet! The salt & pepper fish was crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside. I wished it was better seasoned; the tartar sauce helped. The beef chow fun had good wok hei as a few others mentioned. A little under-seasoned for my liking. Milk tea was ok. read more

The mini pork chop over rice is an item on the afternoon tea menu. Pros: - Plenty of sauce. Sauce reminded me of the local HK cafe (一般香港茶餐廳). They aren't the best but a taste of HK flavor. - Pork chop us marinated using pork tenderloin - freshly baked. Hot hot hot! - Service was good. Very well mannered Cons: - Three pork chop is lightly fried but not breaded. Breaded fried cutlet will make a huge difference. Those who loves HK baked pork chop over rice will understand. Not many places do it. It's more work but it's special. - The tenderloin it uses doesn't have much fat. Using 梅頭 pork with more fat is more tender. - Hot Milk tea is good. Well done! read more

Wow, can't believe I just found this place in millbrae! It gave me such a nostalgic feeling and memory from when I was a child. All their dishes are simple and delicious and their drinks are the right amount of sweet. They have a parking garage in the back and front but beware there's a lot of traffic due to how busy it gets. I came in right when it opened and I was able to get seated quickly but 1 hour later it was fully pack! The place is really big and even has a private room if you want to host a special party. They also have these live plants paintings on the wall, pretty cool. Definitely will be coming back! P.S. don't forget to order their ovaltine toast at the end of the meal! Great Cantonese dining experience. With great flavorful traditional dishes and attentive service, it's the kind of place that makes you want to explore more of the menu. Each dish felt thoughtfully prepared, and the ambiance added to the overall comfort of the experience. I'm already looking forward to returning to try more! Food: Hot Hong Kong style Milk Tea: Served very hot with a rich, orange hue, this milk tea was refreshingly different since most milk teas are usually served cold. Sweet and satisfying, it was the perfect start to the meal. Very simple but very good, would get again! Dried Scallop Bitter Melon with Egg White Rice Noodles: This dish was a standout! Incredibly savory with a nice umami flavor, the rice noodles were perfectly balanced with dried scallop and bits of bitter melon that were surprisingly mild. It was a unique dish that I'd definitely recommend and order again. Service: The staff at New Broadway Bistro was quick, attentive, and very helpful. Ambiance: The ambiance was cozy and welcoming, making it a pleasant spot to relax and enjoy a meal. The space felt clean and well-maintained, adding to the inviting atmosphere. read more

Overall 3.5 stars but rounding up. Came in for lunch on a Sunday at around 12:30 and was seated immediately. The place is nicely decorated-they have these cool plant landscape art pieces that were very interesting. We ordered the baked porkchop rice and the stir fry beef spaghetti as well as two cups of hong kong milk tea. The stir fry beef spaghetti was really good-had strong wok flavor and heavy pepper taste. The beef was very tender. The hong kong milk tea was okay-wish there was stronger tea flavor. I would not order the baked porkchop rice again. The porkchop was dry and not very flavorful. I don't think they fried it enough before baking it with the rice. I would have also wanted more sauce and cheese on the dish. The service was really great though! They were super nice and very friendly. We asked if we could get more tea so that we could make the tea flavor in the milk tea stronger and they were very accommodating. Would love to come again and try other items. read more

I think they had a change in ownership and the place looks amazing! Very large seating area, and very friendly staff! And an extensive menu ranging from breakfast/lunch items to all day dinner style items. Some of the food were definitely better than others but i would definitely give this place a try. Ovaltine Toast is a lunch exclusive item, where they have milk/condensed milk stuffed into a french toast that oozes out, really good! Super sweet, but kind of deflated of a stuffed french toast. 4/5 Garlic Ribs, really good! A lot of garlic and the ribs were deep fried really well, but it was a bit too salty. 4/5 (if it was a bit less salty would be a 5/5) Pork chop with rice, was okay. The black pepper sauce for the pork chop was really bad. (i think it was supposed to be a tonkatsu like dish) The pork was fried really well, juicy inside and crispy exterior and tender! Really good. Rice was kind of hard though, 3/5 overall dish but the pork was 4/5! Beef chow mein (lunch special one) was really good! It had a nice Wok Hei flavor to it, and it was seasoned really well. Good assortment of toppings with it. Very delectable 5/5 The scallion oil pork chop rice was not bad. The egg was overcooked so there was no runny yolk. The pork chop was definitely overcooked, it was kind of tough but the scallion oil is really delicious! The rice was also on the harder side. 3/5 The baked beef tongue rice was the best there! Super tender beef tongue, cooked to perfection! The sauce over the rice was good, savory and tart. The cheese was nicely melted too! I definitely would come back and try their other dishes, i just hope next time their rice isn't as hard. read more

I came here after dinner since I wanted some dessert. Their ovaltine French toast looked interesting. I saw that it was a lunch special but when I stopped by the restaurant, they said I could still order it. They even handed me the lunch special menu even though it was evening hours. The ovaltine French toast was good. It wasn't that sweet and the inside tasted like light chocolate milk. The ovaltine flowing out was like the syrup for the French toast. I felt like there was a balancing act as to when to eat it. If you eat it too early, the liquidy ovaltine inside was still burning hot and if you eat it too late, the toast started to get cold and hard. Service was awesome. The girl working the front who was also my server was very l friendly and nice. She made sure I had water and came back to refill my cup when it was low. I asked if I could watch the giants game if they had that channel and she was quick to switch over to the game. The inside of the restaurant was very clean. I liked that each table was nicely spaced out so people had more than enough room to move around. Parking wasn't as bad as I thought since there was a parking lot in the back. read more

Ordered: chicken fried rice with salted fish - was okay mapo tofu over rice - a bit spicy so had a kick to it stir fry beef black pepper sauce - felt like something was missing, as if there was not enough "wok hei" The menu was extensive but it was hard for us to order. Some l family style dishes that usually goes with just white rice didn't enough options. The regular dishes, looked like they were big enough to share.
