One of the worst Ross I have been to. Clothes are not pretty and there is lots of repetition. Cosmetics area is messy and difficult to find stuff. I was looking to also buy a planner for 2026 and they didn't have any. They seem to be lacking a lot of things that you find at other Ross. read more

This ross is the best one ive ever been to! It's a lot cleaner for starters. I was lucky to find a cologne for my husband after not being able to find it anywhere, and at a really good price! The line went by quick and they had good impulse buys - even voss water which is my fave. The cashier was nice. Definitely would come again!! read more

What are waste of time, this place has been picked through and trashed every time I've walked in. I'm done with this Ross. The the employees could care less about their own store, they have two dressing rooms at the front of the store because they refused to hire enough people to work dressing room in the back and it's just overall dirty. My sister wanted to stop by Ross to shop for some summer clothes. They are definitely pushing their summer clothes. We found a couple shirts and shorts. There was a bit of a line but it went by pretty quickly. There were 3-4 cashiers working and trying to move through the line quickly. read more

Sadly after 2 years this is my second time visiting the location, I would say for a nice area Encinitas they should have more stuffs than most since it was a bit hidden here, too bad maybe part of the Xmas holidays, so everything was completely wiped out, almost all were gone, I couldn't find any toys that I wanted to buy here, everything else were all they got left just so so and disappointed :( read more

Hit this location on a pass through trip. Been to many, you know they're all hit or miss for the most part. Today this one was a hit for me. Found some converse and Nikes that work for my fam. This is the first location I've been to that has self-check. 15 item max check point to remove security devices. Staff walks you to a station and may assist in scanning some items. Sketch and skankiest Ross in this brown down chain. Bought a rug a few weeks ago and they forgot to remove tag- it was $9.99 Went back to get it removed and that's it. Couldn't find receipt. Sweet Jesus, you'd think I was robbing the place. (Insult to clientele if you shop here by the way)... Not everyone steals...I even had the bag. 5 stars for this Ross not having a long line when I came tonight! It was the first time there was no line at a Ross! WHAT? This store was very clean and organized. They don't have as much stuff as the Mira Mesa one or even the Kearny Mesa one but I still love it! You can't beat the prices anywhere! We got a jacket for my husband for like $12! What a deal! While I do love the prices at Ross, this specific location was disorganized and disheveled. I had a hard time finding what I was looking for and the racks seemed to lack consistency in both sizing and type of clothing. The dressing rooms were clean and had ample rooms to accommodate large crowds. Aside from the clutter in the store, the main reason I gave this location three stars was due to interaction with employees. While checking out, the cashier was speaking was with other employees in Spanish. She spoke the entire time to her colleagues without interacting with me at all. I had wanted a bag for my purchases, however she finished ringing me out without even speaking to me once. When I asked if I would have to pay for a bag, she said yes but my transaction was already complete at by that time. Very frustrating! read more

This store is extremely organized (compared to other Ross stores) and they have great variety. The loss prevention dude (greeter/security guard) is super friendly and even remembered us from our previous trip. He has a vibrant personality and is very charismatic. The cashier from last night was super friendly and happy to help us as well. Yesterday, we had a really great experience. That's why today kinda caught us off guard. Our favorite security dude was there and greeted us as usual. We asked him about the exchange policy and he enthusiastically provided us with the information to do so, whereas usually people frown upon the idea. I didn't feel uncomfortable exchanging the piece of clothing until we got to the register. As soon as the word "exchange" was used, the cashier's attitude changed. We bought a few extra items and as soon as everything was scanned, she asked what the problem with the item was. We told her that it didn't fit properly, hence the exchange for a different bra.. to which she responded that I wouldn't be able to exchange it anymore (even though we already established that we were able to) because it has been worn. Mind you, we bought this item just yesterday. I could have fought it or explained myself, but I can tell that that would've caused a scene and I didn't want to hold up the other customers over a $7 bra. But this review will speak for itself, so... Aside from this unpleasant experience, we love our friendly cashier from last night and the awesome security dude. They're the only reason why we choose to come back to this Ross in particular over the others.. read more

Ross' prices are cheap and inventory is constantly changing. It is a discount store so you can never predict what they will have. Sometimes I come here to find fun home finds. You can get kitchen gadgets, glass bowls and jars. Clothing is the main thing for sale here, but it is not really my scene for shopping couture. The designer racks are sparse. Came here to look for something for me. As we walked in, we were greeted by security for the store. Boo! Anyway, I split up and tell my hubby and daughter, I will meet up with you later. I wanted to find a summer dress for Mother's Day. I found this pink one that was only $8 and some change. My husband didn't like it, so I ended up putting it back on the rack. He decides to find a dress for me. It was a lavender color that was long with straps on top. I did not get a chance to take a photo of it cause I was looking around. It costs about $12.99, but was worth it. I liked the color and it was long. I loved it! The store was clean and fairly organized which is always a good thing. It makes finding things easier. Lines were not as long. There were hardly any people in this store. I like shopping here cause I like the stuff they sell. If you are on a budget and have to cut corners, this is the place to go shop. As we walked out, the alarm went off the same time a lady walked out. Bad luck! I would not recommend this location. I love every single Ross I've been to except this one. They are very short staffed so lines are long as are wait times and they don't clean anything because of lack of employees. This is at 7:15pm over an hour and a half before they close. I have a love/hate relationship with this location. It's always hit or miss but I will say the dressing room staff is always very kind and helpful. My reason for the 3 stars is mostly due to the lack of cleanliness. Trying on clothes is always stressful because if I let my feet touch the floor they will be black. I found the best pair of pants here the other day but if I let the legs touch the floor by accident they will literally be covered with dust. I kid you not, dust on the ankles of these black pants. I always wash my purchases before wearing them when I buy from this location. I have found some serious hidden gems at this store but it could use some serious swifter sweeper action. read more

I get it... Simple easy out of season clothes at a cheaper price than the department store. I get it... The security guard at the front in all black with a yellow vest that says "Loss Prevention" who greets you to scare you so you don't steal. I DON'T GET... Me standing at the front of the line to be rung up when there are 5 girls chit chatting about whatever and not really doing any work. I stood here for 2 minutes to purchase a pair of shoes before I got rung up. I know it's not a long time. But when I am there in line to be rung up and the 5 girls chatting away and either standing there, putting away hangers, or even just grabbing their purse, I'm sure someone could have stopped what they were doing to assist a customer buying something. I DON'T GET... the loss prevention guy at the door. The people at a different register purchased their items and began to walk out the door. As they were there, they had set off the security alarms. The Loss Prevention guy says, "excuse me miss..." and then they walk out and are laughing still talking to each other. I wanted to mention to all Ross shoppers that, if you happen to purchase goods from their stores, and while using the purchase for the first time, you realize that it is damaged or falling apart, Ross will not give you a refund or an exchange. Their policy, according to the store supervisor, is to have you deal directly with the manufacturer. After they sell a product to you, they take no responsibilty for that product's condition if you use it. I did not know this, and thought it might be helpful to others. read more

Went inside was was so happy to fine a variety of items, yard, kitchen, dog items, bedroom items, small furniture pieces and more. Gosh, they are all going downhill. I haven't a clue what's up but the Solana branch got so bad, it closed. I haven't stepped foot in the Encinitas one for so long but decided I'd take a peek. The quality is just horrible. There are practically no shoes in the shoe dept. Such low stock, shelves half empty. Everything looks so cheap too. Nothing new as far as fashionable styling also. I would probably stick to having to pick up something in the home dept like a frame or a rug. Not a fan. read more

I always find stuff I love at this Ross location. Although the items are hit and miss and the store is really unorganized, the prices are unbeatable! I purchased two pairs of Bob tennis shoes for my daughter for less than $25. I also come here for my flip flops...super cute Roxy styles for $7.99! I've found many miscellaneous items for my home so I like to walk up and down every aisle to see what I'll find:) Definitely come here if you have time to kill because you'll find nothing in a hurry! read more

This discount department store has a much better selection of women's clothing than the other Ross locations in Oceanside and Vista. But alas, I came in for 1 thing today... :( Wish I could have had a 90's style shopping montage type of Saturday, but that was not the case. Came in looking for hardware to hang a decorative curtain rod at home. They didn't have any basic hardware, but it was only $15 for a cool decorative curtain rod that spans up to 84" I quickly forced myself to purchase the item I can for leave the store, having found what I was looking for. I avoided the nice furniture section where I fell in love with a half-round hallway table, and the kitchen section where I'd surely find something I absolutely HAD to have. Will return for housewares and clothes when I'm not on a mission :) read more

This Ross is pretty clean and well organized. They have a good women's shoe section but don't have men's shoes. They do carry some designer clothes, shoes, & bags, which is nice but the size selection isn't great. It's a bummer to find a great skirt but only in 1 or 2 sizes. The staff seems friendly. read more
