my first time at rosebud this morning and i had an amazing experience. right away, i was filled with positive energy and light. this sounds crazy but the actual space is a super creative, art positive environment and all of the employees are very mellow and polite. the decor is beautiful and i was already in a good mood before i had even ordered. i shared a few items with my dad-- a tropical fruit danish, a polenta danish, and the turmeric latte. everything tasted amazing: the tropical fruit danish had fresh mango and passion fruit cream and the polenta one had little roasted tomatoes. the latte was delicate and beautiful. after breakfast i went up to the counter to buy some granola, which they graciously allowed me to try before purchasing. it's delicious, with lots of walnuts, seeds and sweet honey oats. when i asked the woman at the counter about it, she said they buy the granola from an organization that employs people who have a very difficult time finding employment like ex-cons & ex-sex workers, which i can really really support. love u rosebud!!!! read more

Had a really positive experience at Rosebud Coffee. I was first off surprised at the amount of clean open space in the shop, especially for Pasadena real estate. I imagine this is a great spot to study, work or meet up with friends. There is also a sizable private parking lot in the back. Another rarity in Pasadena and LA in general. A door from the parking lot leads right into the shop. The staff was very friendly and greeted us as we walked towards the counter. The barista named John recommended their Coldbrew brewed from Berundi beans. I have to say the flavor was bright and fruity and popped really nicely. My friend and I really enjoyed it. I also needed a refill of Chemex filters and the baristas were able to walk me through some options and helped me make an informed purchase. Nice coffee shop, but the girl that served my coffe was very unfriendly, I ordered an iced latte, and she made a hot one instead, she was talking with her coworker the whole time, and when I said that I asked for an Iced drink, she was not happy about it. She overfilled the cup and as soon as I put the straw in, it spilled. If you're working with people, at least pretend to be nice and friendly. Used to be greeted with smiles and positivity but as of late, the girls' half assed responses to my questions was really the last straw. Rosebud Coffee is a "local community" cafe that has a Berkeley-esque feel. The open space with skylights in the high ceiling gives the cafe a nice soft feel. Green planters dot the cafe and jazzy music fills the air. Near the entrance of the cafe, there is a "community" table filled with flyers of local events, brochures and business cards of local professionals (actors, yoga studios, therapists, trainers, etc) and other announcements. Even the bathroom walls had promos. (See photos.) Rosebud also promotes hosting local community events. The cafe is pet and kid friendly. As for food and beverage, they offer organic matcha and coffee with limited food selection. The staff is very friendly and seem to know their customers. I asked for a custom "half and half" drip with hot chocolate. They first struggled with the register but delivered! I also tried their granola with yogurt which was more granola than yogurt. (So if you want more yogurt, better ask...) Overall, Rosebud is a great local neighborhood/community cafe. Will be back soon but not on Sunday or Saturday afternoon because they are closed at those times. read more

Really enjoyed my first visit. Was in Pasadena and needed to find a spot to get some work done. The coffee was good and fresh. They had the fastest wi-fi I've ever used in a cafe, and there was plenty of space to work at and charge my computer. When I left, I received a nice welcome coupon from them. Rosebud is low key awesome. It's coffee with a cause. Buying a cup of coffee or a cup of tea here is giving back to the community we are a part of by helping our homeless youth find employment. The atmosphere is calm and inviting. The style is modern meets California boho with lots of open space and natural light. Their chai tea latte is amazing! And if you have kiddos, don't trip because there is a play area for them to hang out in. It also looks like they support local artists and have musicians come in to play on the regular. I unexpectedly stumbled upon this gem because my go to study spot wasn't open and I'm so glad I did! The customer service is awesome, there's very accessible outlets and the orange/black oolong tea is great. There's free 2 hour street parking right outside on Colorado, so you might have to move your car if you plan on doing work here for a few hours but I think it's well worth it for such an awesome environment :) It's not crowded at all on weekdays, very quiet with nice mellow music in the background. I love this place. The espresso is smooth and the syrups are all delicious and house -made (if you've never had a lavender latte, I recommend it from this shop). The tables come in a variety of sizes: individual and small, or spacious and good for work or homework in groups. I'm kind of a pain about my coffee orders (I'm that person who asks for a single shot, half sweet, oat milk latte) but the baristas are always really sweet about it. The folks who work here seem to have a good rapport with one another and care about this place a great deal, which lends a friendly atmosphere. It's not hard for me to spend my whole day getting work done here. Also, a quarter of the space is dedicated to a children's play place, so parents working from home or looking to catch coffee with a friend may find this spot relaxing and useful. read more

Coffee was good, though food options will be more limited later in day as they sell out of items.
