Your company was a God send. American Home Shield, my homeowners insurance company referral told me I had to wait either 2 or 4 days to clear my kitchen sink back up. After 2.5 hours of trying to get both to understand I have a baby in the house, the kitchen sink is critical, I told them "to take a hike" and cancelled the coverage. In less than 5 minutes I called the first plumbing company Siri brought up and it was your company. A plumber, Ernie, was available to come within 2-3 hours. Ernie came opened the line and was ready to leave within 25-30 minutes. Lucky for me my main line was on the exterior kitchen wall. I knew there was a chance Ernie would need to get to the stoppage from inside the sink so I proceeded to remove items from under the sink. Ernie asked me to not do that because he was certain he could get to stoppage from outside the kitchen sink. I stopped he kept sending the snake down the line and finally got to my problem. I was aware my appointment have disrupted Rooter Guard's scheduled appointments but I was so grateful to have a clear kitchen line I could not think straight. American Home Shield not only charged a higher price for 2 days in the future service but Rooter Guard charged a lesser price for the same service. Thank you Ernie and Rooter Guard. Even one star is too many! They are very dishonest and make up fake problems to overcharge! We called them over the weekend because didn't have a choice and they fabricated problems and charged us $4K even tried so hard to convince us to replace the entire plumbing! The problem continued until during the week we brought a plumber that was referred by our family! He fixed it in less than an hour and told us none of the things they did was necessary and that's why it wasn't fixed! And he charged us $200! Save your money and stay away from them! read more

Carlos and team (Francisco and Juan) replaced 55 feet of old orangeburg pipe that had broken apart. They came, they saw, they conquered. Left the yard looking just like when they came. Price was reasonable for the work done and definitely a company to call to at least get a quote from! Leo was our project manager and he was very genuine which was super important. He didn't try to up sell us and he wasn't pushy at all. When he arrived to take a look, Carlos had joined him. They asked questions and were thorough with their evaluation of our issue. If you meet Johnny or Greg, who were the foremen, or Juan or any of these guys, you'll want to be friends. Read on for the full story: On Saturday, our toilet started gurgling. Something out of a horror film. We flushed it, and the water rose up to just under the rim. My husband used his plunger prowess, and the water ebbed. My son went into the garage and the toilet in there had flooded. Ok. We called our regular plumber. The sewer line needs to be snaked again, but he doesn't have the machine anymore. He recommends his plumber friend. He's not available until Monday. I called a number randomly of a local plumber and luckily got Rooter Guard. They responded instantly. Johnny tried with All. His.Might. to snake the cleanout. He then called Henry to come with the camera. Tree roots like crazy. It was nearly dark, and Johnny started to dig where the impasse started. The next day, Sunday, Greg showed up with Juan, and they continued Johnny's work. Henry came with the camera again. The tree roots were still an issue. They had to dig another hole closer to the street. They replaced the clay pipe that was original to the property. The whole time, everyone kept expressing how sorry they were that it was a job of this magnitude, but it seems like this is common in Santa Monica and the Palisades. In fact, my neighbors told me we are among the last on the block to have this done. The next day they inserted a fiberglass sleeve into the remaining clay pipe portion at the easement. They were very upfront about the price. It's comparable to other vendors. They charged x amount per linear foot. By Tuesday, the job was done. The job site was immaculate. They hand-filled the holes, installed 2 new clean outs, and covered the compacted dirt with quick drying cement. They were the most pleasant, polite, hardworking group of people. read more

Our 1961 SFV tract home on a slab with original galvanized pipes had sudden and complete sewage back up and overflow. Andres and his team explored the history of the house, all previous work, and then proceeded to diagnose the issue using extensive experience with older homes and technology. He explained and showed us via camera what happened; 1. construction worker cemented over exterior clean-out, 2. a corroded and broken pipe with dirt intrusion starting under the house 3. a broken-off piece of metal snake line from a previous attempt to clear the line from a couple of month prior by the same idiots that cemented over the clean-out They treated our home like it was their own- from how they treated our belongings, our pets, the interior and exterior- EVERYTHING. Andres also explained how to keep the rest of our galvanized piping healthy through periodic descaling so that we do not have to do this again (showed us via camera us those pipes too, so we descaled them as well- they were FULL of gunk on all sides of the pipe, but there were no breaks, thankfully). We also discussed recoating those lines as an alternative to periodic descale). Are they the cheapest? No- how can they be, with this level of detail, experience, success, and execution? This was a five-day repair with three to seven people working full shifts. Consider how vital plumbing is to the functionality of your home- if you were having gastrointestinal or cardio-pulmonary surgery, you would want the best surgeons, hospitals, and care, not the cheapest. You would also want to fix the problem, not manage it. If this is your philosophy for your home, consider going with the best. read more

Being a first time home buyer, you don't realize there is so much that can take place that is out of ur control. My family and I moved into our home and 2 days after tying to do laundry with brand new machines and a reconstructed home, my washing machine overflowed. I contacted rooter guard Johnny came out. He tried to snake the line and got some substance to come out of the drain but noticed the snake wasn't going through it. He then changed the blade , once again it wasn't breaking the clogged line. Jonny inserted a camera and saw that the line had a large back up and recommended a descale. He contacted mike from their office, and scheduled the descale for the next day. Once the descale was done they took out about 4 ft of blockage. Thank you so much Jonny and Mike. BEWARE! These people are scammers!! I called to have my kitchen drain unclogged and the really nice lady on the phone told me it would be $59. The tech came and said it would be $120. Then 1 hour later, he said he couldn't fix it and it would be $300. Then his boss /owner of the company came to my house 30 mins later and said it would be $1,200 to unclog my kitchen drain. I sent them away, had another Plumber come out an hour later and he fixed it for $75 within 20 mins with absolutely no issues. These people will take advantage of you if you let them. Smh read more

Update: Since I posted this, the owner has contacted me to try to amend my experience with his company by offering a complimentary rooting job (that will be through the toilet drain with a larger blade to rid more roots). In all fairness, I'll give them the opportunity to do a better job than the first time, and I'll change the star-rating if it's a good job. First review: I give them 2 stars only because they didn't try to charge me the $59 fee (otherwise it would be only 1 star), but they also didn't do the job, so they wouldn't have been justified in charging me anyway. I was disappointed by their lack of preparedness to do a simple rooting job on the main line of my house. They came out with the rooter ("snake"), but said they not only didn't have the size blade/root cutter to fit my line but also insisted that the smaller blade "doesn't even exist" and that they would know because they've been in business for 20 years. Well, I've lived in my home for 22 years and have had it rooted several times and have personally seen the blade that does fit in the main line, and ultimately, I did have it done this time as well by someone else who had the proper size blade. What Rooter Guard had "recommended" to me was a Hydroflush & camera inspection for a modest charge of only $495, because there "could be" a broken main pipe, when all I needed (& ended up getting after they left) was a basic, regular rooting job. There was no broken pipe; just hair and tree roots as usual. Too bad they're looking to dishonestly up-charge/& overcharge would-be loyal customers. They would probably have a larger customer base if they carried the proper tools to do the job they say they come out to do. read more

I can't believe this company. I booked an appointment for this past Friday days before. They gave me a 1-hour window. 10-11am. I called their dispatch at 12 ish asking for an update? While I was on the phone with dispatch, I said, "OK I'LL BE HERE". I'm not sure what else that can be interpreted as....other than I'll be home waiting for the technician. They said the technician is heading my way after he completes his current call. They were short-staffed which is understandable. We had Rooter Guard come down to check our house for leaks and there were quite a few.. there was a really bad leak under the house especially where the toilet was.. Mike and Greg were very professional and knowledgeable to help us understand the issues that we were having and to my disappointment we had actually just got work done by another company, Team Rooter, in January of this year. Come to find out after seeing the video of the issue this other company did a Mickey Mouse job and over charged us just because it was New Years.. we had Rooter Guard fix the problem and redo the piping under the house and they also replaced the main sewer line, they have an inspector come down to check the Work and they also provide a city inspection certificate.. this is an old house and this needed to be done sooner or later so we had them complete the work. Sorry Team Rooter.. you could have probably had this job if you just had a knowledgeable plumber come down to address the issues that we had in the first place. I would recommend Rooter Guard especially for big jobs like this as this is not something that is cheap. They were very kind and also worked with us on the price. The best customer service! We had our kitchen sink back up. So, ok, we didn't panic and we tried to plunge it clean. However, after an hour of plunging to no avail, we called Rooter Guard. They sent someone over, Andres, within an hour. Andres was polite and professional. He had protective booties over his work boots and a mat to protect the floor around our kitchen sink. It ended up being a bit more job complicated than a simple snaking. And a bit more money. I was able to get this company to take care of a problem with my hot water on a weekend. It was an emergency and they sent very good workers out to take care of it. It ended up being a very complicate job, putting in new pipes, etc. It cost several thousand dollars. Let me say first that I believe they did a very good job. They worked in the rain and had to go under the house and I really appreciate that. And the workers were really great guys. However, I do believe that they charged me over and above what was fair. They quoted me a $1600 price to put in an automatic gas shut off valve and I'm getting it done for under $500. This makes me think that the mark up on the hot water heater and the work that they did, may have been jacked up as well. If I could have waited, I would have used a plumber that I knew and had worked with before. Just saying. read more
