I contacted this plumbing company regarding a gas leak and specifically asked whether they handled both gas leak detection and the repair in-house. I made it very clear that I had just had a bad experience with another plumbing company that sent someone who could only perform the repair and not the leak detection. I told them I did not want to waste either my time or theirs by going through the same situation again. The person I spoke with over the phone assured me that they handled both the detection and repair. I also specifically asked him to make sure the technician calls me before arriving so I could explain the situation and confirm that the technician was properly equipped. I was assured that the technician would call first. Unfortunately, none of that happened. The technician arrived without calling me and just as I had specifically tried to avoid, was only there to perform the repair. He then had to call someone else to come out and detect the leak. When the other technician arrived 45 minutes later, he began making excuses about not having the necessary parts and equipment to detect the leak and said they would come back later. I was told the parts were probably at their office and that they would return in about an hour. After waiting approximately 45 minutes, I received a call from the office saying they had found the part but wanted to come back the next day. I reminded the office that the technician at the property had told me he would return the same day once the part was located. The office then contacted him again, and the story changed. This time, I was told that he apologized but was unable to find the part and would like to return the following day. At that point, I declined their service. They wasted more than three hours of my time, despite the fact that I had specifically explained my previous experience and asked them to confirm beforehand that they could handle the entire job. The biggest problem was not simply that they were unable to complete the repair. The problem was that I clearly explained the situation in advance, asked very specific questions, and was given assurances that turned out not to be true. A simple phone call from the technician before arriving could have prevented this entire waste of time. read more

I called these guys because my mother's toilet was clogged, for some reason one of the workers was saying they need to use a "diamond bit" to unclog the drain. He was able to convince my 71 year old mother who is alert and oriented, but now I know needs financial supervision. He was able to convince my mom that the houses main sewage line was problematic, and they had to use a "deescalate technology" to dig in and clear up the line. At this point the bill went from a simple 300 dollar toilet repair to 3000. I thought the bill ended there, and they were able to convince my mom to agree. Come the final day when the bill comes, this companies truck is blocking our drive way, when all the days they work I gave them a designated spot to park, to not block the driveway, but they insisted to keep blocking our cars in. The final bill comes and I see my mother's bills come to more than 10,000 dollars.... The heart breaking part is that my mother was so nice enough to even call one of their workers, that ripped her off, "her own son." What was the slap in the face is that even after they ran my mothers bill to 10,000, one of their co workers "ran a camera through the pipe line" and "our houses pipe line is not completely connected to the city's sewage line" so, "Once I send the video of your piping to the city, they are not not going to be happy." "the city might sue you 45,000 for damages to the city." but, "were willing to accommodate you for 9000 to fix the piping :)." Trying to convince my mother's bill to run up a 20,000 bill. Not that it matters, but these workers speak broken English, show up on their own time without coordination to mine and my mother's schedule, and have no sense of personal space while having a conversation, and also speak with pressured speech, and loud tone (to try to sound convincing). not that it matters but it does bare a statement, just so costumers know what they're in for. Fuck these guys. Also, they got my name completely wrong on the bill when I've even texted them my full name, and personally told them my full name, look at the photo. Loll read more

Eddie was an amazing and patient technician that came out to my house to explain the issues to our main line. It was more than we expected but he was honest and trustworthy. The supervisor also came a few times to check on the job and explain to me and my husband how much it would cost and the reason for the cost. He gave us a good price that we were able to pay. I'm a renter in an apartment building. I have a shower diverter. It needs to be changed because the faucet runs when I have the shower on. Wasting hot water. The owner of the unit won't fix its all do it myself and take it off the rent. I called and the girl was very nice on the phone. She said they couldn't give me a quote over the phone. They'd have to have a technician come look at it. The technician came. He got here on time.He was nice, but I had to shut off the water myself in the building. He took the port off and down to his truck said he didn't have the part. I asked him how much before he left to go get the part. He told me that it was going to be necessary to change out all three handles on the shower. Hot, cold and the diverter, and that it was going to cost $1,450!! I asked how much just for the diverter? And he said Ummmmm. $650!! I told him I thought the price was high, and he said, I know. I told him I might do the diverter , and he went back to go get the part in the meantime , I called to get a quote so I can know if I was getting ripped on for not. First place , I called a g g plumbing and electrical. The lady on the phone put me on the phone with a plumber who asked me what I needed done and gave me a quote over the phone of $250 for the diverter, and $375 all three knobs. That's at $400 difference just for the diverter. And a difference of $1075 for all three. Naturally, I is scheduled for A G G to come out the next day. And they called the ruder guard office and asked them to have the technician. Come back bring the part he removed and pick up his tools. I cannot believe how ridiculous of a quote. He gave me. Thats highway robbery at best. I still felt inclined to give him 30 bucks for his trouble. Even though I wasn't happy with his quote. Then he told me that those are company prices and he has no power over the quotes. I don't know how much I believe that. I hope this was helpful. read more

What a scam. Don't waste your time. I had Rooter Guard out for their $59 drain cleaning. Their tech, Eddie Martinez, showed up and I explained to him that I had built the house 35 years ago and knew every drain and clean out. About ever five years the drain that handles the kitchen, dishwasher and master bedroom shower backs up. The clog is always 50+ feet out from the clean out. Eddie Martinez brings out a handheld device that only goes out 35 feet. I told him that would not work. Sure enough, it didn't. But Mr. Martinez had a solution, he could put a camera down the pipe for $350 or a hydro jet with a camera for $750. I declined and had another plumber out. I explained the situation to him and he brought out a cart with a long snake. This is the same kind that in the past years the other pumbers had used. Sure enough within 10 minutes the clog was cleared. The one positive is they did not charge me for coming out because the clog was not cleared. What a scam. read more

STOP!!! After complaining every step he made in my house before getting started, Eddie Martinez tried to find every reason to increase the bill. When you have an uncomfortable feeling about something, go with your gut. My gut told me to hold off with them doing any additional work, they claim they tried to snake the toilet through a clean-out nearby, to no avail. His snake tip broke off and he continued to use it. They said they needed to have a camera view of the issue which would be an additional $350. I canceled them from coming but they came anyway the following morning, but I didn't use them. I had a friend to give me the name of a REPUTABLE plumber that came at noon today and fixed the problem in less than 30 minutes. It was a paper stoppage and it's flowing perfectly now. No camera needed, no hydro-jetting needed, just a good piece of equipment (65-foot snake) that solved the problem. Eddie of Rooter Guard caused more damage to my newly installed steps because he wouldn't allow for help down the stairs with his equipment, banged the steps badly. I insisted I help him out because too much damage was already done. The reputable plumber was able to carry the snake down 7 steps with no damage or complaints at all. It ended up that the problem was bigger than we thought as my house was built in the 50s and had the original cast iron drainage pipes. My kitchen sink was backing up, when Johnny came to check it out, he asked where my clean out was located to try and save me some money. Turns out I did have a clean out, and he began running his snake unfortunately my kitchen line was never serviced, and their was a lot of Black gunk and grease in the line. He then recommended to do a Hydro jet, I was a little hesitant about it, So I contacted my husband and agreed to go ahead with the hydro jet since we had never serviced our kitchen line, and we did not want this issue to further continue. Our line was in really bad shape and the Hydro jet did not successfully fix the issue so then he contacted his specialist Mike. He explained to Mike step by step of what's going on, and was told about a descale device.
