We had a sink that was clogged up and Jonathan from Rooter Guard came out based on a $59 special on their web site. He quickly said that that the special did not apply because we did not have some place he could easily snake the sink. So he asked for $129. I agreed. He then took out the P-trap and then snaked for a while. Then said he was too afraid to go beyond 25 feet. However, the sink was still filling up when he was done. So I asked my regular plumber (but who can only come weekends as he has another job) to talk to him. At the end Jonathan said what we needed was a procedure that he called "descaling" that was $2500. I said I would not do this till I talked to my plumber (and it seemed WAY too expensive to me). Those are the cons. The pros are a) they came out quickly, in 1 hour b) he did not charge me for the visit as he did not fix the problem c) he was very polite and d) The sink started working fairly well several hours later. The sequel is as follows. My regular plumber came a few days later and snaked for around 70 feet (he felt Rooter Guard had not gone the 25 feet they claimed) and it seems to work very well now. Thus far at least, we don't feel there is any need for "descaling". But of course its early days yet. So go figure . . . read more

The representative that assisted with scheduling my appointment was extremely helpful, nice, and professional. On the day of my appointment, I received a call advising me the technician will arrive in an hour. The technician, Daniel, arrived on time and much like the representative earlier, he was also very helpful, nice, and professional. He assessed the issues thoroughly and was able to fix it on the spot. Although it ended up being a simple fix, I was pleased that he didn't try to upsell me on unnecessary things. We called for clogged drain in the kitchen. They said it would be $59 to clear. They came quickly, but when they got here, the tech said he couldn't snake it out because it was too clogged, that it would be $750 to Hydro jet the drain. We said no and called someone else who cleared the drain with a snake and charged us $65. Their $59 offer was a scam... bait and switch. read more

I called Rooter Guard on Sunday about my toilet being stopped up and about it needing to be reset as well. Not only did they call me with an estimate before sending someone out, but the plumber showed up an hour later in uniform and fixed the issue, after exposing the problem and showing me what caused the clog. The plumber's name was Greg and both my wife and I were extremely pleased with how polite and efficient he was. If I ever need to call another plumber it will be with this company. We called a few local plumbers to fix a kitchen pipe that was not draining. One company with the name D#*%n said it was grease build up and needed a hydrojet flush at $875. That was not going to happen. They not only were trying to fleece us, but didn't even show us the camera photos. We then called Rooter Guard and Daniel came by within the hour, snake cleaned the pipe and found it was some jammed paper towel....all for $59. Had a tub drain replaced. I looked on line after I already paid this company $1,575, the highest was $600. I was taken to the cleaner.i only used this company because they had replaced my pipes with pvc. Was hoping since I was a return customer I would get a good discount. Rooter Guards technician Oscar is a godsent hero... My sister is currently going through a very rough time, having found the end of a 6 year relationship. Our family lives across the country, all she has is myself and her innocent dog - Willow. Trying to be a good brother, I let Willow out to pee while she was at work. Willow doesn't like men, and for some reason she really doesn't like me. But I'm no stranger to this news, therefor I had her on a lease while she did her business... along side my loyal companion Benzo who was off his lease. As we approach the porch to get everyone inside, I unlock the door and take Willow off her leash, she then proceeds to run... and run she did. For 2 miles Benzo and I are running down Camarillo St, in and out of the busy road, just trying to keep up with Willow. She is increasing the distance between her and the barefoot bounty hunter (me) pursuing.. I am screaming at everyone she runs past to "GRAB HER, CATCH THE DOG PLEASE!" but no one comes to my aid. I see Willow get further and further ahead of me, while my dog falls behind and my internal gas tank runs close to E.... hope is fleeing.... *tires screech* A man in a van yells out "I'll get her bro, I"LL HELP! " as he speeds off in front of me... Willow takes a corner, and my dog stops far behind me... I am forced to choose between losing my dog to keep up with Willow, or lose Willow to grab my dog. My heart breaks as I decide to pursue Willow. (Thankfully my dog catches up)... "Over here! I think I got her!" Mr. Oscar yells from a parking lot. "She's in this corner, walk up slowly." I sneak up, and grab ahold of Willow. Thank god.... Thank god this man / hero was around and decided to take it upon himself to help someone in desperate need when no one else would. Because of him my sister doesn't have to go through another heart break tonight, and I don't have to resent myself forever for being negligent enough to lose the last thing my sister has to hold on to. I called Rooter Guard to find a good and trustworthy plumber to fix our clogged drain. 15 minutes later their dispatched called to confirm the name of the guy that was headed to our place. Within less than 30 minutes they arrived. The plumber and his supervisor were very polite and knowledgeable. They used a camera inspection to locate the clog and see the condition of the pipes. To be honest not the best one, as our house's main line hasn't been replaces for more than 100 years. We already knew we would have to replace the pipes sooner or later at that point. Rooter Guard's team advised to have the entire mainline replaced to avoid future problems. We agreed on that, and lucky enough the guys did an exceptional work. Please Do Not Call for Sewer or Drain work. From the time they arrived they were pushing hard to replace the sewer pipe! Asked them to Hydro Jet the sewer line and they only went thru the motions claiming it could not be cleared and put on a huge show of going thru the motions, ultimately claiming they could not even get their inspection camera thru the line. The Hydro Jet was never turned up beyond 1000psi versus normal operating levels of 4000psi if required. " Here's your quote call us to schedule your construction project! A total scam and act from the moment they arrived and orchestrated by company management! Very bad actors. Bad Karma and business ethics! Bad men! Beware! Run! Next day an amazing plumber came and instantly ran his camera thru the line they claimed was blocked and we could clearly see a few roots were removed, but job far from completion. The new plumber used the Hydro Jet to completely clean the line and then inspect the sewer pipes that are in fine working order! Job done $500! Called Rooter Guard on Sunday and made an appointment for Monday between 8-9 am. They called Monday at 7:30 am to say they couldn't make it. I rescheduled for Wednesday morning between 9-10 am, they just called and said they didn't have anyone and the soonest available next appointment was Sunday. My toddler decided to throw her toothbrush down the toilet and we were unable to take it out or flush the toilet. I initially contacted another plumbing company and the technician came and told me I'd need to replace my toilet. I was a little hesitant since I had just changed the toilet recently and it was new. Unfortunately our water heater stopped working. We went out to check it out and we were able to light the pilot but the next morning it wasn't working again. I reached out to Rooter Guard and they were able to send someone out the following morning. Oscar was the service technician that arrived and from the very beginning he was so polite and respectful that I knew I was in good hands. He asked questions to find out what was happening and was very knowledgeable in explaining what the issue may be. They did a job on an apartment complex I live in. They have an absolute lack of communication. They didn't inform the tenants when the water was turned off. They blamed the water not being turned on on the city, however city water person said they are available 24 hours a day to come out. They were not onsite and the water was on so I ran the washer. When they returned they unplugged the washer mid cycle instead of talking to me. Do not recommend. read more

We suddenly had some major issues with our old plumbing under the house. In hindsight we knew this day would come, but we had hoped it wouldn't be so soon. I left messages with three different 24 hr-companies through Google Services, and Mike N. from Rooter Guard responded and came out the very same evening I called to asess the situation. The other two '24 hr' companies did not respond until the next day, saying they didn't have time until 3 days later... Mike worked hard for several days, with a crew when needed, to completely replace the pipes under the house and he replaced the ancient clay pipes leading to the main sewer (that were cracked, broken and overgrown with roots) using a machine that breaks up the old pipes and replaces it with a new (modern material) one by pulling it through. That way they didn't have to dig up the whole front yard or kill our beloved palm tree. Mike N. has proven to be very professional, knowledgeable and courteous. I called a family member who is a plumber to ask if the price was reasonable and he spoke to the worker. Not sure what was exchanged but I was told they are trying to scam me. So I sent them on their way and my family member cleaned out the drain with a snake which fixed the original issue. Now the spot they were messing with is getting flooded with toilet water!
