Ugh wish this was in Manhattan. Typical bunsik restaurant you would find in Korea and the taste is so similar to Korea's as well. Their kimbabs (Korean sushi roll) are amazing. They have so many different options that are hard to find outside of Korea. My favorite is their ssambap kimbab which is pretty much pork belly lettuce wrap you'd eat in a Korean BBQ place in sushi form. It's so delicious. Each piece is so big, but there is no other way to eat it than to just stuff it into your mouth. They also have an extensive menu with over 100 choices excluding the 30+ kimbab options. Not the best for someone extremely indecisive like me (I just wanted everything.) Their ddeokbokgi (spicy rice cakes) and pork katsu portions were huge and delicious. The restaurant is closed off for dining in but they are open and still taking orders for curbside pickup. We also phone in our order so it's ready for us to pick up when we arrive. While they are off northern blvd, we have been able to find street parking without hassle each time. Their Kimbab are always made fresh to order, and are so delicious!! My favorite is no. 43 which is the spam, avocado, egg and hot peppers which was highly recommended by the staff. The Rolly Kimbab is also a good choice when unsure as its their namesake. Try their bulgogi Kimbab, it's so good. Their service has been quick and friendly. I've been coming here for years and I still look forward to coming here each time. It has most of the same ladies working there since the first time I've been there and they're really nice. Most times they are attentive, but sometimes they're too busy. The interior is very homey and cozy. Most of the tables are big enough for 4 and on Friday afternoon, it's often filled with high school students. Throughout the years the prices went up just a teeny bit. I always come here for a bulgogi kimbap, spicy rice cakes, or the couple set which is a set with kimbap, spicy rice cakes, and sliced pork cutlet with sauce. I've noticed the last think I came here that the spicy rice cake broth was a bit watered down. I think the best things here is the spicy rice cakes, kimbap, and their ramen. The last time I visited I tried the mix chilled buckwheat noodles and the cold buckwheat noodles. It was very disappointing. Tl;dr- I love the place, but food is a hit or miss. I really like Kimbabs! Came here on the weekend with customers forming a line outside the small shop. Note to self: call to place order for easier pickup. Finally made my way into the store and ordered at the counter. Got the Bulgogi Kimbap, Pork Katsu Bento box, Rolly Kimbap, and ham kimbap. Staff informed the wait would be half an hour or more, and I was willing to wait. Pre-made side dishes located at the refrigerator looked good, so got that as well. The wait was close to an hour, and when I inquire about my order the owner hands me my bag, glad I counted my items as I found one Kimbap order was missing. He goes into the kitchen and grabs the missing order left at the back counter. Got home, and devour my kimbaps. My sister and I were worried we might be a little underwhelmed with just the Rolly kimbap that comes with the couple set so we ordered an additional Tonkatsu kimbap on the side. Both were actually delicious, especially with the Dukbokki sauce! The Dukbokki is delicious without being too spicy. The sauce that comes with the tonkatsu is always delicious, and is one of the first things that come to mind when I think of Rolly. Unfortunately, the last few times I had it, the meat itself has been a bit dry and the fried batter does not wrap the meat very well. Called the afternoon before to order a tray of bulgogi Kimbap for my work's Thanksgiving potluck. They had it ready for me at 7am as requested. Most places in the area could not accommodate such an early request. It was essentially 5 or 6 orders of the regular portion Kimbap and charged this way as well. I paid $42 for the tray. The Kimbap was a hit! The bulgogi was perfectly seasoned and the Kimbap was just perfect! None of my coworkers were Asian and it was most people's first time trying it. Nonetheless it was a super popular dish at the potluck. The Kimbap was perfectly rolled and aesthetically pleasing as well. This is a huge contrast to the Rolly in Douglaston/little neck, where the Kimbap is really bland tasting (and just not tasty overall). I am so disappointed. I used to love Rolly Kimbap. It does taste really good. I used to order lots of cupbaps, especially donkatsu. I admit, the food is very good. We never had any problem with other workers but the problem is the boss. Today the boss picked up the phone and it was good in the beginning. But as we kept saying our orders, he kept questioning our orders which we wouldn't mind if it wasn't on the order. But we were saying stuff from the order (and things we always ordered) but the boss kept laughing as if we were stupid. He was rude since he kept questioning the things we were ordering and saying "oh we never had someone order like this"..... We were mad so we hung up. But he keeps calling us back because he is angry and says "what did I do so wrong?" Hello, we don't want any trouble. If you don't let us order anything from the menu, we don't want to eat here??? A homey mom & pop restaurant with delicious (& cheap) Korean comfort foods. Definitely no frills here & worth the visit if you can get here. Portions are large so you won't leave hungry. The,budaejjigae, army stew tasted average/nothing special ( kinda like a mom's homemade taste). The stew wasn't that heavy in flavor but it wasn't bad. I felt like it needed a bit more gojuchang. The ttubokki was great though. It was a bit sweeter than other places but it made the dish so much better. It was a much better flavor than what I've had at other places. Probably my most torn review in terms of feelings for this place. The food is all decent, cheap and come in large portions, but the service is so awful on so many accounts for both dine in and take out experiences. There are so many options of kimbab here. All the rolls are very large and stuffed, and they fill you up very quickly. My personal favorites are the crab salad and pork cutlet. The spam and spicy chicken rice balls are also a cheap favorite as well. All the orders (dine in and take out) come with complimentary miso soup which occasionally has a mild kick from the addition of jalapeños in the broth. The service by a bunch of immature teenagers is awful. Once had to call the place back for a refund since they forgot to give me an item of my take out order. They've messed up the phone order on more than one occasion for me as well, so make sure they repeat your order back to you.
