WOW! Rock Mountain Bagel is amazing! We could tell by the line but the service was still quite fast and it was well worth the wait. I had an Apple fritter, Eggel with Ham and a cold brew. All of these items were amazing but I would have to recommend the most the apple fritter. It might be the greatest Apple fritter I've ever had! Service was fast and everyone was friendly. I have high standards for bagels and this place is pretty average. I waited in a long line on Saturday morning and then no line on a Tuesday afternoon. I really only went back a second time because it was convenient to my Airbnb and it was raining so I didn't want to walk any further. I got the smoked salmon sandwich, a maple bagel plain, and coffee the first time. The second time I got the rosemary sea salt bagel with cream cheese. Coffee was passable. Bagels were okay. They are very flat and not at all like a NY style bagel, which is what I prefer. Flavor for the everything bagel was meh, as with the other bagels. The line for this place, even at 8AM is a bit crazy. I guess it's really that good or social media really hyped this spot up. Parking is a bit hard to find, where I ended up parking in a residential lot (not supposed to), but got out quickly once I got my food. The line moves quick as you're expected (and have all the time) to figure out what you want prior to getting to one of the two cashiers. And then the real waiting starts for your food, which takes about 30 minutes if they're really busy. There's also a second floor, which is their rooftop to enjoy your meal if you choose and soak in the views of the Canadian Rockies. Food overall is good and meets expectations. read more

I'm not much of a breakfast person, but I would high recommend. They cut the sandwich into two and I save half of my bagel for after the hike. The interior was spacious with vegetation all around. Picked up breakfast on our way to the ski hill here. Couple parking spots just east of the building itself specifically for pickup. Atmosphere is really nice and would have loved to get a coffee and sit and enjoy the atmosphere. Boyfriend thinks it would be lovely place to get some work done on a laptop or read a book. I got 'The Original' with turkey, Rosemary bagel, and added the Roasted Garlic and Herb cream cheese spread. It was wrapped in saran plastic wrap which was super helpful for containing the insides/mess. Tomato and lettuce was fresh, bagel was super fresh, turkey tasted fine, cream cheese was soooo goood. Boyfriend got the Eggel and said his Everything bagel was 10/10. Boyfriend got a medium roast coffee and swears it is the BEST coffee he has EVER had. Loved that oat milk is available. So yes, expect a wait. Parking is not the best with very few spaces. The five stars though is in large part to the consistency and quality of their food and the sense of urgency the employees always have. They are so friendly and eager to provide good service. Back to the food. They have many bagel and cream cheese options. They have coffee and tea options too. They have sandwiches and other treats like cookies, scones, muffins, and bars. I really like their rice crispies treat. I know, that's easy to make at home, but they do it so well here. Good consistency and a generous portion. Although the line was long, it moved decently fast! We got a breakfast lox bagel, the BCLT, and the original - as well as drip coffee & the maple skor latte. My favourite place to grab breakfast in Canmore! Their bagels are all made from scratch everyday and there is a great variety of breakfast sandwiches to choose from. Their coffee is great either hot or iced. The staff are very friendly and can answer any questions about the menu. I am torn on how to rate this place because I got two items and one was subpar and the other was awesome. I stopped here around 7:00 to grab a bagel and cream cheese for breakfast and a bagel sandwich to have later for lunch. If you're headed out on an early hike and want to pick up food before you go, this is one of the only places open. The bagel and cream cheese was just so-so, the bagel itself was disappointing, it was small and didn't have that good crust on the outside like it should, however the flavor was good (I got the rosemary bagel) and the garlic herb cream cheese was very good (although it was a little skimpy). On the other hand, the mountaineer bagel sandwich was absolutely delicious. It's pastrami with Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickles, cream cheese, mayo, and mustard. I got it on an everything bagel and asked for the hot pepper cream cheese instead of plain cream cheese. I ate it 6 or 7 hours later and I really think that gave a chance for all the flavors to meld together. It was so good! All in all, my opinion is to come here for lunch, not breakfast. read more

I really like this place. My wife and I have come twice now. Once for breakfast before exploring Banff and the second to stay dry during a snowstorm (at least it was a snowstorm by my standards). The bagel sandwiches are delightful! I have now eaten the Amigo and the Smoked Turkey. Both bagel sandwiches were tasty, but the Amigo southwest flavor wins. Try it on a cheddar bagel. They have delicious looking cookies as well. I had their toffee cranberry cookie and it was nice. This is the perfect place to grab a hot chocolate and chill when it is cold outside. They have a fireplace, but sadly it has not been on at all. They have some warm looking blankets on tree stump seats that look quite inviting if the fireplace gets started. Service has has been great. Everyone is pretty friendly. They have free wi-fi and the bathrooms are super clean. This is a good breakfast spot, dessert spot, chill and use wifi spot, or get warm with a drink spot. read more

On our last visit, my family and I bought a dozen bagels and a couple of cream cheese spreads. We ordered a mix of sweet and savoury flavours. Our latest order included Rosemary Sea Salt, Cheese, Cinnamon Raisin, and Maple bagels. To make it a Bakers Dozen, the staff threw in an additional Everything flavoured bagel. We bought 2 containers of cream cheese spreads: Roasted Garlic and Herb and Strawberry and Honey. My favourite flavour was the Rosemary Sea Salt bagel. This bagel pairs deliciously with the Roasted Garlic and Herb cream cheese spread. I recommend toasting the bagels so it's warm and crunchy. So good. For a sweet treat, we grabbed some lemon drop cookies. To me they taste almost like lemon meringue pies but with a soft scone like consistency, topped with icing. So good! There are also a variety of bagel sandwich combos that you can buy here. If ever you're in the Canmore area, or even passing through, I recommend stopping by here for a bite to eat! read more

While there's an open sign, it didn't catch our eye enough to enter there. We entered on the far left side and stood in line, but that ended up being the wrong line. Clearer "enter here" signage would be helpful. I ordered a jalapeno cheddar bagel with strawberry honey shmear and my husband ordered the parmozza bagel with roasted garlic shmear. The shmear's were tasty but the bagel itself was incredibly sad. The bagel was thin and the shmear was lacking so much that once melted, you could see the bread. Maybe their bagel sandwiches are better. Lastly, on the side you enter there was a communal table and a handful of 2-person tables that were underutilized - most people were looking for seating in the main area. Maybe a "more seating" sign or just the entrance sign would help people know that there's space elsewhere. Two stars for decor and shmear flavor. read more
