They try to seem friendly. But if you inconvenience them in anyway or are not happy with the work that was done, they quickly try and steer the blame away. Called to talk to Jose about why my car was still acting up. He claimed his mechanic misdiagnosed it. If you are trying to talk with Ronnie about it inside, he gets quickly very defensive. Even asked me why I did not just take the car somewhere else. Diagnostic report was definitely not correct. They definitely falsified information on the second diagnosis after I complained about the work they completed. Would not recommend this shop to anyone. read more

Took my van in due to the check engine light. I was anticipating an expensive repair. They only charged me a diagnostic fee and said it was a simple repair. This is the only shop in town I take my vehicle. I drive a Volkswagon, so not everyone can service me. These guys are always available and honest and that truly is a blessing. I've had other shops and dealers try to take advantage of me for my lack of car knowledge , but not Jose and his family. Very honest shop. I had a crank no start problem with my truck. They spent diagnostic and shop time to discover water intrusion. It was a windshield leak! They don't work on them. They sent me to a windshield shop....AND CHARGED ME NOTHING! Thanks guys. You're awesome. read more

I needed a smog inspection so called Rocha and they answered the phone promptly and were very courteous with my questions. I brought my car in as a walk in bc that's all they do with smog and brought my kindle and some work to do while I waited. I was greeted by a lovely young lady and she was wonderful in getting me checked in. Needless to say I had planned to stay awhile and low and behold was in and out of the door in under 30 minutes so didn't even get to read my book. This will be my new go to place! read more

Nice people....but....My truck was running poorly and the check engine light was on. Long story short, they had my truck for 3 weeks and $900 later it was ready to go. Just days later the check engine light is back on and they want to charge me again to diagnose it. I already paid them once for diagnosis, but now they say this must be a different problem. I wonder how many times they would charge me for a diagnosis before the check engine light would finally quit coming on? If it is a separate problem as they claim, they should have found it the first time. I would be willing to pay more for additional repairs, but the extra diagnosis charge seems unfair. read more

I've gotten a few smog's here and both times the staff was very personable and easy to work with. They did it in very little time and it was affordable. Update: they did a great job diagnosing and repairing an oil leak! Very friendly and professional. Good quality work for the money. Took my car today to go and get a smog check. Was pleasantly surprised how simple and easy the process was. The staff at the counter were helpful and friendly. During an extremely big storm our trucks four-wheel-drive would not engage. We live very far away and were pulling a trailer and had a brand new puppy with us. We took it into Rocha's and they told us the only way to fix it was to wait a few days and have it replaced totaling in thousands of dollars. We said we could not wait & needed to get back on the road or may not make it home for a long time. That was our only option. Once we got home and took it to a mechanic he told us we could engage or four-wheel-drive manually. We had looked for this information and not found it online. I am extremely disappointed with Rocha's. Wether it is negligence of not knowing how to fix the brand of they claim to or they were trying to pull money out of a desperate situation I am disappointed and disgusted that they could send us to be on our way with no care of our safety. My wife's car broke a brand new timing belt. As you already know I'm sure this is not only and expensive fix but could result in a lot more damage or even a completely blown engine! Luckily the car was only idling when it happened. With all the different possible damage that this may have caused, I knew I needed a mechanic I could TRUST. This type of issue is considered a "payday" to some shops. With this in mind I started searching for some help, knowing I could be worked out of potentially thousands of dollars. I decided to go with Rochas and I'm telling you now I am so happy that I did. Each person I spoke with was very thorough in explaining what was going on, giving me the choice to go forwards and approve each step throughout the process. The job was completed, they were honest about what needed fixed, and my car is back running amazing! If you're not sure where to go to get your car fixed, I recommend Rochas. Called on Thursday with a broken a/c. Dropped the car off at 9:00 am on Friday and it was ready around 4:00 pm. Very fast service!!! A little pricey, but worth it as you can't live line in Redding without air conditioning. Will definitely go back for any car issues. read more

Great service. Although I can only speak to their smog service. Took my car to get a smog done. All done for $40 and was out of there in about 15-20 minutes after arriving. My husband took his car in to Rocha's auto body he asked them to only run a diagnostic test on his car my husband wanted to work on the car himself told them very clearly that was all he wanted 4 hours later he went in to pick it up they told him that the tps censor was broken and they ordered it for him it was a $300 dollar part and it would be in later in the week and when he said that he just had asked them for the test and he didn't want them to fix or buy parts for it they said well it's already done my husband asked them to put the part back on so he could do it himself they said that that starter was out and he couldn't take it. when he asked why it was broken now but working when he brought it in the owner ! Say well my mother was alive and now she is dead . So he had leave it over night they never Ran the test tried to charge us for it and when my husband said that he wants not paying and he would speak to the Authority's the starter magically was fixed this morning . read more

I really liked Rochas for years, but my last visit I swore that I'd never go back. I never write bad reviews but since I'm still dealing with the problems they caused me, a year later, I think it's necessary. A couple of years ago my older Ford truck broke down, I called them to see if they would fix it, they told me to take it to Jamie @ Underhood. Which was fine and Jamie was great. But I wondered why they sent me away. Well anyways about a year later I took that same older truck for a smog at Rochas. I waited for 2 hours and watched as everyone who showed up after me had their car smogged and were leaving as I looked at my truck still sitting out front. I took a couple calls and walked outside a couple times and could see the open shops. Finally after 2 hours and everyone else was gone, they finally smogged my truck. When I went to pay, I asked the gentleman working why they did everyone's vehicle before mine? He gave me this B.S. excuse that they only had 2 machines and that only one would work on my truck. Like I'm a moron that didn't see them take other peoples cars in both stalls ahead of me. Anyways I didn't want to argue, but I was pretty irritated. When I got home I noticed that the girl who checked me in wrote my mileage as 9,000 miles. This is a 30 year old Ford truck with only 5 odometer digits. The odometer has rolled over 100,000 and started again. But this obviously unqualified person sent the smog certificate to the DMV with the wrong odometer reading. Which raised a red flag with my insurance who thought I was lying about my annual mileage on a vehicle that i rarely drive. So they changed my annual mileage from 1000 to 30000 which made my rates skyrocket. Now I am dealing with a catastrophe all caused by the absolute incompetence I dealt with at Rochas over a year ago. Besides the awful customer service I received there. I am very grateful they referred me to another shop for repair, because if they can't even do the paperwork correctly, I am terrified to think of what they are doing to peoples vehicles. I wouldn't go back to Rochas to use the restroom if I was gonna pee my pants. Do your current and future self a huge favor. STAY FAR AWAY FROM ROCHAS!!! read more

People were friendly, but I was given a VERY wrong diagnosis on my car which could have cost me a ton!! I brought in my '05 Camry due to a clunking/rattling noise I was hearing from the back when driving over bumps. My suspicion since the beginning was that my right rear strut and possibly the strut mount were causing the issue (which means both in the rear would need replacement), but I knew I had received a dishonest diagnosis when they told me that all 4 struts were extremely bouncy and were leaking and the sway bar links needed to be replaced (mechanic said he could move them with his hand and reproduced the clunking noise). See, I'm a mechanic's daughter (told them this when I went in!!) and I had checked all the struts AND sway bar links before I brought them into the shop and they were absolutely fine. I just didn't have the time/tools to disasemble the inside of my car to get to the strut assemblies, hence seeking a diagnosis from a mechanic. Myself and 3 other mechanics looked at the car before/after Rocha's and everyone's conclusion was that the sway bar links were as sturdy as new and so were the front struts and left rear one. I even jacked the car up and took a crowbar to the sway bar links and they wouldn't budge. Rocha's guys said they could pretty much guarantee that the sway bar links were the culprit and wanted me to start by replacing those, and I'd definitely need to get 4 new struts because they were all failing, among a ton of other things they said needed to be changed, like the transmission fluid, which definitely was NOWHERE NEAR needing to be changed out. I highly doubt anyone at Rocha's took the time to disasemble the back seats to look at the strut assemblies, like I asked them to. If they had, they'd have known right away that the rear right strut and mount were at fault. Or maybe they did and just wanted me to spend some more money before they got around to fixing the real problem? Never seen a mechanic do THAT before -_- OH! and one of their mechanics left 3 large pen marks on my dashboard, presumably from holding a pen in his hand with the keys(?) I got it off with a magic eraser but it didn't help my already negative experience. In the end, I took my car to Robinett's Automotive and they actually took the time to get to the strut assemblies and told me the only one that was bad was the rear right one + the mount - exactly what I thought! The rest of the struts and suspension components were in perfect condition. I'm glad I went with my gut and got other opinions after Rocha's but I think it's important for people to know about dishonest situations with mechanics. Not ok, especially in a small town like Redding. read more

Battery Went out on my Honda Civic Hybrid....well the light came on and I needed to go in to get it checked/diagnosed. They are very friendly and I thought that actual customer service was good. The downside was after they said my car was ready to be picked up, I go do the paper work and when I went to get it my car, they forgot to put the back seat back on....I went it and told them, and they apologized and went and fixed. The next day I had a phone call from them saying they forgot to put my air filter back on and that I would have to bring the car in and they would put it back on. They apologized again, and it's not a huge deal, but they could have offered to drive to my place and put it on (I actually only lived a few miles away, though I don't think they new that). But I took it in and they again apologized and put it on very quickly, didn't take a lot of time. They told me that my whole hybrid battery needed to be replaced and quoted my about 3,400 dollars and I know they are expensive (hybrid battery replacements), I believe the dealer is around 3,700. I work in SF and a very well known hybrid shop quoted me 2,500 dollars. So, it was 900 dollars cheaper in the bay area, not that that is really feasible for people in the Redding area. I ended up just selling the vehicle in the long run and bought a new Prius. Anyways, the shop was friendly and their facility was clean and had coffee and doughnuts available...seemed customer service oriented....but I tend to question their professionalism with my experience. read more
