Low-key feeling lost in translation with respect to the business moniker? Just go with it, because every aspect of this matcha cafe, from menu to service to product to flavors to interior design to collaboration, is a delight. Get thee ready for matcha madness. I'm no matcha maven or obsessor, I just know what I enjoy. And I enjoyed the heck out of Junbi's soft serve. Generous tall cup with lychee topping (bottoming) and a dusting of hoji Cha. I got straight matcha flavour because, what are you even doing at a matcha store if you ain't having any. Vanilla matcha swirl or vanilla soft serve is order-able too. It bee like, smoothest nicest green tea ice cream ever. My friend with a sophisticated wide-ranging palate agreed. Pronounced pleasant matcha taste. The micro-diced lychee and roasted tea dust enhanced all of its core deliciousness. Junbi makes Affo Gato (soft serve with a shot of espresso or matcha) as well as sundaes with names like Guava Gauntlet and Mango Mission that contain fruit purée and toppings (e.g. aloe, chia seeds, cacao nibs, almond jelly, coconut chips). Customise to your heart's content. Oh ohh, onigiri is offered too. It's a rice ball -- well more a triangle -- filled with savoury stuff. A Japanese snack staple. Of course their main stock in trade is premium matcha. Junbi is ~prepared~ (ha!) to create any matcha or coffee thing. Plus a solid non-caffeinated beverage menu with variants such as hibiscus, dragon fruit, chrysanthemum. Blended, slushy, matcha, coffee, tea... Jun bi can do. BTW also *prepare* to see internationally popular brand collabs. Last year, Miffy, a bunny. Netherlands : Miffy :: Japan : Hello Kitty Snoopy and Charlie Brown, this year. Characters beloved by many worldwide but particularly in Japan. You could snag all the various swag as long as you hit at season launch. Yup yup, beddah junbi junbi.. because if you no Jun bi, miss da window, collection bi sad. What else... those cylindrical seats in the shop may look hm not so comfortable, but they work for me. Staff preparing orders are attentive and kind. I dig the Café's quieter, mellow chill vibe, an escape from all the loudness outside. So in conclusion: Junbi def suits me. Hai.. Go star-roo.

It's incredibly creamy, but what really makes this one stand out is the use of actual fresh banana. There's banana at both the bottom and top of the drink, and you get fresh banana purée as you sip. I've never had a banana matcha quite like this before, and it makes such a difference compared to drinks that rely mostly on banana-flavored syrup. There's also a subtle cinnamon/cookie flavor in the cream layer that pairs perfectly with the fresh banana and matcha. Everything works together without the banana overpowering the tea. My first sip was genuinely eye-opening. I immediately knew this was going to be my new go-to matcha. I've only tried it once and I'm still thinking about it. If they do their banana matcha this well, I'm very curious to come back and explore the rest of the menu!

Very inviting place to grab a drink and small sweet. Cream puff choux for 1 or a box of sponge cake to share (or not). Plenty of seating for catching up with a friend or even study/work for maybe an hour. *Pandan Green Milk Tea + Tea Jelly complimentary for the milk teas *Matcha Tiramisu Latte with lady finger cookie *Tropical Fruit Oolong Tea *Peach Orange Oolong Tea *Jasmine Milk Tea + Tea Jelly *Corn Sponge Cake I keep going back for the pandan milk tea. I like how they put the housemade cubed jelly on top, hence the word topping. I'm trying to be good and get no added sugar. The jelly is sweeter than the drink hehe. Strong tea and creamy sweetened milk. Their ice is cubed! Whole milk or oat milk option. I got the matcha tiramisu yesterday and they package the crispy lady finger cookie separately. I dunked that into the cream between bites. No sweet option was great since the cream was sweet enough. Less sweet for the fruit teas allows the fruit syrups to stand out. They add diced fruit for flavor and texture. I heard good things about the corn cake. Thick cream, spongey cake, corn sprinkled throughout. Best to share! They also have tiramisu and pork floss cake. I want to try the choux one of these days. It's BOGO after 7pm but I always go earlier in the day for a caffeine fix. Employees are nice and greet you right after entering. Order at the counter and they'll give you a pager that'll buzz as soon drinks are ready.

The drinks are definitely interesting and Chinese-inspired, with twists like oolong or osmanthus in coffee. It tasted fine -- interesting, but not very caffeinated and not worth the heavy price tag. Coffee outside is almost nine dollars these days, which honestly makes me not want to buy coffee out at all. Drinks did come out relatively quickly, and the place seems really popular -- there were a lot of people waiting for drinks on a weekday afternoon. There's a second floor for seating, but the first floor has limited to no seating. Cool concept, but at these prices it's a hard sell.

Staff were prompt in making the drinks. 1. Matcha Yuzu (5/5) Matcha with yuzu puree over tonic water. This is the perfect refreshing drink on a hot day. You get the carbonated fizz from the tonic water, the rich, yet smooth earthy matcha flavor and the slight sweetness and citrus notes from the yuzu puree. 2. Ube Cloud Cold Brew (5/5) Dr Ink has made ube right. I like ube and taro flavor but a lot of times, they mKe it too sweet. Here at Dr Ink, their Ube is flavorful yet not too sweet. The cloud was foamy and creamy. The cold brew was smooth and bold, not acidic or flat. I devoured this drink in less than 2 minutes. The only thing I wish they would change is the amount of ice they add. The cup was 2/3rds ice, which made me feel like I did not get a good value for my drink. Flavor wise, they nailed it.
