Roberta's is known for here pizza. There's a reason why this spot is always packed and you can't get a reservation. Luckily they have a garden area and a to go section. Pizza is pricey but worth it. I went recently for their holiday pop up which is very festive, the holiday cocktails were not that good, stick to regular cocktails. Omg i have to say their marinated cucumber salad is AMAZING. I am not a fan of cucumber so I wouldn't eat them usually but since I was traveling I thought I would just give it a try. And OMG I was surprised how good it was! Lol For pizzas, my favorite was bee sting--it was sweet and spicy at the same time. My second favorite was famous original with pepperoni. The food here is excellent, and the service is simply amazing. I was so impressed. We got the bread & butter, and it was great. Soft, fluffy, easy to spread butter and soft warm high quality bread. Next we had the famous pizza and both loved it. The crust is so doughy and the cheese is fresh. We did not like our dessert and I didn't like my cocktail, so the waitress removed them from the bill. Pizza rating 8.5/10 I really like the ambience of Robertas, and especially this location with the outside seating. I have been to this location a few times and there is sometimes a wait, but if you go late enough then you can *usually* be seated right away. I definitely prefer this location over the other ones as the communal outdoor seating is a great area to hang with friends, and there is a bar that serves bevs as well. The pizzas here are wood fire oven style, thin crust and light. They do personals, no slices here at Roberta's. I would say 1 pizza is good for 1-2 people on average. Any more than 2 people then you definitely need more than 1 pizza. The balance of sauce to cheese is great here as well. The pizza never feels heavy, and also tastes satisfactory and delicious. This spot is definitely great for a late night with a group of friends, but you can also get them on delivery! read more

This does not look like a Michelin star restaurant, but it is. This is primarily known as a pizza place, though it does have salads, Italian meats, and a burger I hear is pretty good. The vibe is laid back and the staff is made up of cool kids that don't act too cool. I had the marinated cucumbers, so cool and refreshing. Cucumbers marinated in garlic, chili, breadcrumbs, and herbs. I then had the famous original pizza, which has tomatoes, mozzarella, parmigiano, caciocavallo, oregano, and chili. The pizza was delicious and had a kick to it. You could taste the fresh herbs and the crust was blistered just right without being burned. I had a few cocktails, which were fine, but they took a backseat to the food. I would definitely recommend this place, though if we are talking pizza only, and I had to choose between here and Frank Pinello's Best Pizza, I would probably go with Best Pizza, also in Brooklyn. It just has a cool, gritty community vibe and you can buy by the slice. Frank did used to work at Roberta's. If you want something a little hipper with a little more sophistication and variety outside of pizza, go with Roberta's. Either way, I give Roberta's five stars. We had a dinner reservation and were promptly seated upon arrival. They had outdoor dining in the garden which was mostly covered by tents and socially distanced. Ordered the bee sting pizza which was delicious especially the thin salami. If you like sweet and spicy, this is the pizza for you! The crust has a nice texture and doughy. Didn't like that there were huge air bubbles on some areas cause the cheese and sauce were not evenly distributed and some parts of the pizza were a bit more burnt than I liked. SKIP BOTH OF THESE. the bee sting was the only thing worth ordering for me. the waiter gave us a bottle of chili oil to douse our pizza with. and it was pretty good. if i could go back and just order 3 bee stings, i would have. i like my pizza savory, salty, saucey, slightly crispy. while the bee sting delivered in the moment, would i drive all this way for this again? probably not since there are also a few roberta's in the city. but my bias might also be that i prefer brick oven pizza. This time - the sauce was so watered down that thin crust was not crusty but mushy from watered down sauce also the flavor is not there. The pepperoni used to be smaller and a lot of mozzarella and thick sauce with a hint of honey - that used to be a good full flavor pizza! Now you get a few big pepperoni slices a few blobs of mozzarella and watered down sauce- terrible! Sweet bread were ok - too much batter and you really cannot feel the taste of sweet bread. To sum it up - I'll stay away from this place for a while as it's going down the hill Maybe I'll give them one more chance after pick up location opens up after renovation but at this moment not my choice. read more

Normally I get my Roberta's fix from their permanent stand at Madison Square Eats, but I finally got to check out the pizzas on their home turf. The three of us shared four pizzas like the greedy, hungry animals that we were (and are): Lil' Stinker, Four Emperors, Lieutenant Dan, and my personal favorite, Bee Sting. They were all very good with their own unique twists. The thin crust is perfectly chewy with a nice crisp. The marinated pepperoncini peppers were zingy and added a wonderful flavor to the Lil' Stinker. I loved the thickened globs of arrabiata sauce on the Four Emperors. The Lieutenant Dan, which I deemed the pizza version of a salad, was refreshingly tangy with its marinated summer peppers and onions. The pizza chili oil, as my friend schooled us on, went well with all of 'em. That being said, the Bee Sting was still the champion in my eyes. There's something so intoxicatingly, addictively delicious about the combination of thinly sliced soppressata, mozzarella, chili flakes, and that sweet drizzle of honey. It can't be beat in my opinion. We made the mistake of getting dessert, which killed our pizza high a bit. My friends split the sticky bun bread pudding, which came with a lemongrass gelato that piqued my interest. Rather than being sticky, the bread pudding was actually quite dry. The gelato tasted weird... too rich and creamy and almost like buttermilk. Note to self: Just stick to what they're known for next time. read more

Nestled in Bushwick, it was once a destination restaurant but is now one of many great businesses in the area. We walked in Sunday evening around 8pm and there was no wait for 2. We sat at a communal table and soon we had the entire large table to ourselves. The menu had some new additions, but the fan favorites still remain. Now, YOU MUST order the stracciatela cheese AND the n'duja. If it's just 2 of you dining, they have an option to get half n'duja and half stratcciatela (I believe this is a secret menu item named fire and ice). This combo is so good I wept. Seriously, I cried the entire time I ate it. We also ordered the turnip, tripe pasta, and bee sting pizza. The tripe pasta was so so good - even for a non tripe lover. What was cool about this dish is the pasta itself was shaped like tripe. Very delicious and super clever. A lot of people know Roberta's for the pizza. Definitely ask your server for their favorite, you might end up trying something totally new. Whatever you do, get the Bee Sting. Normalize honey on pizza. No questions asked, just drizzle it. The sweet and savory had me in a toxic relationship- I knew I shouldn't be eating slice after slice, but she always got me coming back for me. There were two of us and two pizzas. We landed in JFK, checked into the hotel, showered and changed, and drove straight to Brooklyn to do just that. First off... it's an area with a lot of street art and culture. In fact, Roberta's is covered in street art. When you walk in, you instantly get the feeling you're about to eat great food. We ordered few appetizers and 4 pizzas. I would argue some of the best pizza I've ever had. The atmosphere was killer and the people there were on top of it. I would highly recommend. I had never been to NY before. It was my first experience and Roberta's made sure my very first experience didn't disappoint. They told me there was one in Culver City. We checked it out as soon as we got home. What a fun find! Came here because I had a gift card for $40 to use and was super pleasantly surprised by my experience. The food was super good, I'm still thinking about those marinated cucumbers (yes, cucumbers, who knew?), and the pizzas were phenomenal! The servers were also really helpful and when the pizza was taking a bit long, the server brought us out some more bread which was crispy and yummy, too. :) Overall, great service environment, great food, and good drinks (that Savage Garden mezcal cocktail rocks!) There are a handful of cheat worthy places I have tucked away in my subconscious: Extra Virgin for that truffle turkey burger, mushroom soup with truffles at The Dutch, Piccolo Cucina for Pasta alla Norma and my go to place for pizza, Motorino. A lot.. thus I entered Robertas through the bar and was greeted warmly and led to a toasty room with sky light peering through a wood planked ceiling. Wooden picnic style tables adorned the room where a few diners were chatting. I already knew about Robertas, courtesy of my nephew and was warned how great the pizza is and it's worth the hype. Thus, I knew I was going to cheat big time and ordered the Bee Sting; the heavenly concoction of tomato, mozzarella, sopressata, hot honey and chili. I asked my server " how hot is hot"? She stated "pretty hot" and suggested having the chili flakes on the side. I also ordered a ginger beer to drink. I continued to survey the interior as more patrons were seated in my little pizza oasis room. A nice buzz filled the air with diners eagerly awaiting their pizzas. It was nice hearing servers explain the savory ingredients used in certain pizzas like guanciale. Then my pizza arrived: this glorious pie smiling at me. I cut out my first slice and yowza..all senses came alive!!! The deliciousness of the melted mozzarella, tomatoes and sopresatta.. there were no words. I planned to take half home but.. couldn't.. stop.. devouring!! And sprinkling the chili flakes on every slice.Yes, it's that great! Now for the service.. Undoubtedly one of the best pizzas I've ever tasted! What appears to be an underground, vandalized, sketchy garage warehouse is actually a pizza haven inside. How fitting for the neighborhood because it's filled with warehouses, coffee and plant shops, thrift stores, and hipsters! The storefront of Roberta's doesn't seem much, but it's your typical ~Williamsburg~ scene. I love it! Our party of 4 made same-day reservations for 2:30pm. Once you enter the restaurant, the first thing you'll notice is their GIANT brick pizza oven to the left. As we were waiting for our table to be set, I watched the pizza makers in awe as they hand-made every dough pie and added their magic to the pizza. It was fairly packed but we didn't need to wait long. We were seated in their outdoor space (highly recommend seating here!!). I loved the interior vibes of brick and garage-y warehouse. Their outdoor space is enclosed and has a sunroof, so there was a ton of natural sunlight peeking through. Onto the food - we ordered the Ceaser Salad, Bee Sting, Beast Master, and the Original. Ceaser Salad - This is your typical ceaser salad with some dill and subtle mint taste. It also included crushed croutons which gave the texture of eating sand (lol) but I really liked the dill and mint twist into the salad, so I enjoyed every bite of it. The salad is also fairly huge. Bee Sting - MY FAVORITE! The pizza comes with basil, honey, soppresata(?). The Bee Sting tasted like heaven in my mouth. Their sauce was slightly spicy and the honey added a subtle sweetness. The soppresata is kind of like pepperoni but thinner and crispier which I enjoyed. I do wish they added more basil leaves because it only had 1 leaf per slice, but all in all still tasted amazing. Pair it up with their complementary chili oil! Beastmaster - My friend ordered this and I wasn't too big of a fan. It had too much going on for me. If I recall correctly, there's: blue cheese, onion, jalapeno, and some type of sausage meat. But also, I am normally not a fan of sausage, blue cheese, or jalapenos so this is biased. It tasted good, but I personally wouldn't order this for myself. Original - The original tasted like your regular cheese slice but with some sourness. We ordered this because it was named "Famous Original" which meant we had to try what the restaurant's known for. But with the price point and basic taste, I personally wouldn't recommend this. What I really liked about Roberta's pizza was their dough. Usually if you eat a couple of slices from any pizza store, you feel nasty and bloated. Something about Roberta's dough is light, airy, and easy to digest! The price is kind of steep compared to the typical NYC slices which are around ~3ish. Each pie varies around ~20 here. That is expensive in my book. I don't see myself coming here regularly, but the food was so amazing here so maybe I'll come only if I'm feeling for fancy pizza! First things first, the pizza is EXTREMELY overrated. It's good and has high quality ingredients but it's not even close to the best pizza in nyc. 1000% not worth the 27~ dollars for a 12in pie (I got the widow maker). However, it has a phenomenal atmosphere and good bar. It's a great place to come with friends to have a drink and a bite to eat, but if your goal is good nyc pizza, this isn't the place for you. read more

I have to say this was the most delicious pizza I've ever had in my life! I came to this place on the recommendation from a coworker. And I ordered the Bee Sting! There was some sort of chili honey sauce on top. That was just enough heat and sweetness. The staff is friendly ambience is warm. I will most definitely go back.! Yum yum! read more
