We came here before the magic show as we had not been in some time. It is very close so it is handy. Our server was friendly and quick and the food was all very good. The cornbread is amazing and the drinks were solid. It is pricey but not so much so that you have to take a loan out. The food is worth it but given it's location and cost we save it for special nights out. I highly recommend them if you are in the area, the have a pretty wide selection of food and drinks and everything we have tried in our 2 visits has been very good.

Rotisserie chicken with cornbread stuffing and green beans. 10/10

Great food. We got there with a group of 4 during happy hour, no reservation, but bar was open seating. Bar top was nice, felt like we were sitting in the dining room with the great service we received. Wine and cocktails were great. Happy hour prices were reasonable. We all tried a bunch of different apps. All great! Tortilla soup was awesome. Didn't photograph it, but it's poured tableside, tons of flavor and avocado is plentiful. Best tortilla soup I've ever had, tbh. Big ass burger was on happy hour and it was huge. Chile Verde also on happy hour and was also a huge hit. We tried the queso on HH as well, and it was made with the pork from the Chile Verde. Queso was a bit thin, served in the skillet, but got thicker after it cooled after a few minutes. Flavor was great. We ordered the main menu rotisserie chicken that came with a side of cornbread stuffing, it was phenomenal. 10/10. Chicken was juicy and well seasoned. Hubby got the 22oz ribeye. Cooked perfectly, had a great crust. Also delicious and worth the price. Creme brulee dessert was also great! Highly recommend this location. Parking wasn't bad, parked on street nearby.

We ordered bacon wrapped stuffed jalapeños, iceberg BLT salad, asparagus, and ribeye (not the best steak ever, but good). All the food was great, as was the employee who helped us with our meal. Prices were reasonable. Ambiance - nice, not uppity.

This was my first time here. We dined during their Fourth of July buy-one-get-one-free special. We were able to sit in the bar area and take the opportunity to explore their Happy Hour Menu. The Happy Hour Menu is a tad limited; however, we made the best of it. I had their Classic Vodka Martini. My dining partner initially ordered the Little Larry; however, the freeze machine was not up to full speed, so she opted for the RF Margarita with Mango. My martini was what I expected. Nothing fancy but strong on the vodka side. Her margarita was not great, leaving a noticeable aftertaste. Our server brought some simple syrup which helped. Eventually, she did get the Little Larry though. For our starter we had cornbread which was very appealing to the palate. It was perfect portion wise for the two of us. Alas, the main course. She opted for the 22oz Cowboy Cut Ribeye, medium rare. I selected the 16oz New York Strip, medium rare as well. Both were scrumptious and satiated our healthy appetites. I will say, mine was a tad more pink than I wished, yet fulfilling as well. The ambiance was like being on a movie set made to appear from the 20's with a touch of modernity that added additional flair. Our server, Caitlin, I think I spelled it right, was great and very accommodating to my dinner partner regarding her cocktail. Very kind. My first impression of Roaring Fork was good. I liked how you do not have to sit at a table to enjoy the BOGO, which afforded us the opportunity to partake in their Happy Hour. My suggestion would be to add a few more cocktails on the HH menu. If you are in the mood for a nice dinner in a throwback/modern setting with friendly and accommodating staff, go try the Roaring Fork DT. I feel you won't be disappointed .

Visited Roaring Fork for their Memorial Day buy one get one free special. It was a great deal because you can sit in the bar area and also take advantage of the happy hour specials. We started off with the Small Larry frozen margarita topped with grand mariner and Frozen RF Margarita with mango. For the starter, we split my favorite salad, the spinach Waldorf salad made with spinach, mixed greens, avocado, grapes, hardboiled eggs, white cheddar, dates, candied walnuts, apples and sweet onion dressing. For the entree, I had the seasonal fish which was the halibut with a burre blanc sauce. For the $60 price point the fish was not extraordinary and there was a miscommunication that the fish would be prepared with a crust but the fish I received just had the sauce and would have preferred the crust as described. Also ordered the bone-in cowboy cut ribeye all natural black angus steaks specially aged by fred linz in chicago hand cut in house served with chipotle demi, chimichuri, and shallot butter. My steak was missing the chimichurri sauce but was prepared medium rare to perfection and the meat just melted in your mouth it was so tender. We had the seasonal dessert which was a peach cobbler with blackberry ice-cream. Roaring Fork has a great reward program and you can earn points for discounts to your bill. There were a few issues with our dining experience including the miscommunication with the fish preparation and missing chimichuri sauce on the steak, but overall an enjoyable dining experience.

I stayed at the hotel that is connected to this restaurant and this place was highly recommended. The environment was classy and quaint. My husband had dinner, and we each tried the steak. I had the 8 oz filet and it was perfectly cooked medium rare. It was juicy and flavorful. We shared 2 sides, and the green chili macaroni was outstanding. The service was friendly and timely. We liked it so much that we will enjoy our New Year's Eve meal here.

Took my daughter here for a birthday dinner. Per reservation we were seated immediately. We had the skillet cornbread for appetizer. It had enough green chile to give it a nice flavor, but steered away from being too spicy. The texture was crisp outside and soft inside. Excellent. She had the filet mignon with bearnaise sauce. We asked for medium rare, they cooked it rare. The bearnaise sauce was somewhat heavy on the vinegar. Missed some on the execution, but it did not ruin the meal nor evening. We shared mashed potatoes, green chile mac n cheese, and asparagus. I had the tortilla soup for entree, as had eaten a hearty lunch earlier. The green chile Mac n cheese was the best side. Outstanding. Mashed were standard fare. The asparagus seemed to be served plain. We helped it out with salt & pepper, made it fine. The presentation on the tortilla soup was fantastic. The main plate was a tower of rotisserie chicken encased by avocado and surrounding fried tortilla strips. The waiter separately had a dressing cup filled with the soup broth. They placed the chicken/avocado mound plate in front of you, then poured the broth into the 'moat' area between the mound and the edge of the soup plate. Bites incorporating all ingredients were excellent. We had huckleberry cheesecake for dessert. Served on a plate with 'Happy Birthday' written in chocolate, and atop a raspberry drizzle underneath. The texture of the cheesecake was literally perfect - and one cannot go wrong, ever, with huckleberry anything! Delectable. The lighting inside was perfect. Muted lights were bright enough, making it easy to see, yet dark enough to have a relaxed pleasantness to the atmosphere. This was a 5-star experience. Our server was very pleasant, and service was on point throughout. Definitely recommend for a nice dinner or special occasion.

Always wanted to try this restaurant. Finally came here with family visiting from out of town. Was very pleased with the quality of food and the service. The Atmosphere is chic and cozy. Makes for a great outing with family or friends, date night, or business events. They have indoors only. The waitress was lovely and very personable and professional. Food is excellent. We ordered cornbread for the table, and I got a margarita and the burger. Also tried their Mac and cheese. No complaints. Look forward to returning.

The Roaring Fork is an upper-scale business friendly restaurant not only for your high rollers but a great place for a romantic night out. It's also a great place where can enjoy a nice dinner before a show at the Paramount Theatre. You can valet your vehicle there at the Stephen F Austin Royal Sonesta Hotel. I have dined here before but usually at the bar which has a atmosphere. But this time seated in the dining room section. It was not very crowded where seemed like everyone wants to hang out in the bar section. It was peaceful and quiet with great personalized service. The dinner menu had a nice selection of options and decided to order the Rotisserie Chicken. The chicken smelled and looked delicious and was very presentable. It has great color and texture sitting on top of cornbread stuffing, brussels sprouts and, and lemon garlic jus as described on the menu. It had great flavor and succulent not including the cornbread stuffing. It was really good. We definitely had a memorable experience.

Roaring Form was sooo good. The service was great. I started with the Queso Puerco. It had so much flavor. Then kind of odd. I had the BLT salad. The most bacon I have ever had on a wedge salad. I then ordered for my entire the Green Chili stew with tortillas. It was awesome! The tortillas complimented the meal so well. Roaring Fork will be some place I recommend to my friends when they visit Austin. So good

Food is delicious, excellent ambience, and professional service. They had excellent steak cuts, also dishes with lamb and roasted duck, but we were full. Definitely next time!

Had a fantastic yet simple dinner at Roaring Fork. The food was excellent, ambiance was upscale, and servers were friendly 8 ounce Black Angus Steak Filet - The sides of the filet were a little overcooked however the center was absolutely perfect Truffle Fries - A great pairing with the steak. The fries were steak fry style and had a strong truffle flavor which I enjoyed greatly. It also comes with truffle aioli and steak sauce that you could try with the steak or anything else you order. I opted for this instead of ordering accompaniments and don't regret a thing Overall had a great experience and would come back

The steak I ordered was made to order perfect, as I like it mad rare and mooing, but had heavy seasoning on it. Not sure if that is signature to Perry's, as I'd personally rather let a good cut of steak speak for itself. It took away from the natural flavor, so I'd ask for no seasoning next time. My understanding is that Ember will validate, but it wasn't apparent to me how that works and honestly I walked out forgetting it and having to pay the bill for parking - oh well. I came with a party of six and we were celebrating a birthday. The team at Ember was very accommodating. We were seated downstairs in their "Speakeasy" room. It's a bit dark, but cool atmosphere. There are other dining options if you prefer a bit brighter setting. We were served complimentary birthday shots! Nearly all the cocktails on the menu are going to be served in a feminine looking glass and with a flower. The cocktail menu is pretty much for the ladies. On the bright side, they have a good selection of bourbons, tequila, etc available for straight pours at a decent price. Not extensive selection, but I think a good choice - enough that I think you will find something to fit your price point and taste profile. Our waitress was top notch. Very attentive and paid close attention to the orders from our gluten sensitive guest ensuring she ordered safely. We ordered a couple small plates as appetizers for the whole table. Everyone loved the crab cake. I thought it was tasty but wasn't expecting whole kernel corn in a crab cake so that threw me off a little. Market seafood crudo - this is a fish appetizer and as the name implies changes based on availability. The night we ate was a Hamachi or Salmon option. The salmon had a bit more of a spicy sauce so we chose that. It was a hit. We also chose a tuna tartare and it was fresh, good but didn't knock our socks off. When ready for the main course - our waitress had a number of off-menu specials to tell us about and honestly many were very interesting options. In fact, we chose to split a 50oz Tomahawk steak. This was a huge steak plated on a hot platter, already sliced off the bone with some fingerling potatoes. This was honestly the most expensive part of the meal (no surprise), but also the least impressive. Now visually it was a spectacle for sure, but the meat certainly had pieces that were tough with some large pieces of fat. Now I don't mind the fat, but when sliced there were a couple pieces that were nothing but fat, other pieces still that were mostly gristle. We all agreed the seasoning was just missing, it seemed to have no seasoning at all. It was also quite charred. One of the claims to fame here is their Josper oven and clearly it can put a good char on a steak. Some in our party liked it, but I thought it was a bit much. There can be fine line between a good steak crust and a burnt crust. I thought it was a bit much, and maybe why the seasoning seemed missing. On the bright side, it was cooked correctly to order. My only problem was, for the price, this was a complete miss. We also ordered scallops and the morida shrimp. Both were excellent. These were probably worth coming back for. The morida shrimp come served in a bowl with a rich sauce that was enjoyed by the whole party. The scallops come pan seared and were cooked perfectly - which is key to enjoying a good scallop. Be aware that the typical order of scallops though comes with only two scallops - rather light even for a single individual, because these were not on the "small plates" menu, it was supposed to be a full entree. Great experience overall, but we just felt not quite worth what we had to pay for it. Overall, it was just over $150 per person. What could have saved it - for that price, the steak HAS to be on point.

My husband and I decided to try out Dai Due for our 8th anniversary, and unsurprisingly it was…read moreamazing! First off the reservations were pretty open mid-week; I had booked for Tuesday several weeks ahead of time but then had some plans shift and was able to change my reservation to Wednesday just a couple days ahead of time with no issues. We walked in through the front as the back entrance wasn't really obvious from the parking lot (which is quite small), but that was cool as we got to walk by the deli counter and see the meat and pickled veggies etc that were for sale. Our server was great, very helpful in suggesting items, explaining the menu, and answering any questions we had. On her suggestion we started with the sauteed mushroom appetizer but also requested the black garlic butter to be added on the side (I don't think there was an up charge) and this was a great choice! The mushrooms were tender but with a nice bite and super flavorful. We also got the grilled oysters- I forgot exactly what was in the sauce it had miso and something else, but it was so rich and flavorful! I couldn't decide what was the best between the two apps they were both amazing. The husband ordered the antelope over regular fries (as he doesn't like sweet potatoes) which they were happy to accommodate. It was delicious- tender and perfectly cooked with the chive butter on top. I had never had antelope before and found it very pleasant, not very gamey but with a slightly different flavor than beef. I got the quail over grits with a creole sauce and sauteed kale- amazing! It comes with two quail that I think were spatchcocked- the only bones were in the legs and wings so you could eat it easily. The grits were creamy and the sauce with the kale and quail was delicious. I was able to finish my whole meal but was pretty stuffed at the end! Our waitress encouraged us to get a dessert but when we declined brought us out a bowl of chai ice cream to share as she said she wasn't going to let us leave on our anniversary without a treat! All in all a great experience, only complaints are that they don't serve cocktails (there are plenty of local Texas liquors to choose from!) but we did enjoy a glass of wine, and then went next door to Vic and Als after dinner for a dessert cocktail!

The restaurant was very cozy and comfortable. Service was great. Food was great. We had the pastrami sandwich. Biscuits and gravy with Antelope sausage and sourdough pancakes. Also the lemonade and green tea. I will definitely be back again .
