I really liked being able to choose the skewers we'd get and they've now raised their prices to $0.60 per skewer. Which isn't outrageous to be fair. Some items seem more worth it than others, but you can make your own call as you try out the different options! We ended up going for seconds on the pumpkin and the beef skewers. Outside of skewers, they also have plates of stuff too that you can throw into the hot pot. The wagyu beef was yummy. Our plate in the photo was 2 orders and we had 2 layers of meat from what you see. We tried the sweet potato noodles since I felt like we were missing carbs. I didn't see rice or noodles on the menu otherwise. I love the decor of this place! So thoughtful and well done!

I've been putting off trying this place because I thought everything was spicy. Luckily my friends who love spice were ok with doing a split pot broth where one side is spicy and one side is not. The decor and atmosphere of this place was fun. I loved the old school Asian walls with huge paintings. It was a big space and didn't feel cramped at all. Chairs weren't the most comfortable but it will do. Food was reasonable and so was their beer special. Skewers can be purchased by the skewer and depending on what it is it can be in a lower cost category or the higher category. There's some plates to order but we didn't try any except for the beef. Service is average as expected for this kind of establishment. Nothing over the top, but good enough. Parking is easy to find and plenty.

Came here with two other friends. This place is so cute! I love the cute interior that reminds me of street restaurants in Chinese dramas. We don't take spice that well so we ordered non spicy broth. To be honest, the broth is on the saltier side so I don't recommend drinking it but it pairs well with drinks and the skewers. I find the skewers are reasonable priced and they don't force you to order minimum number of certain skewers so you can try more skewers! Also, I love the promotion that they currently have - $1.99 for a plate of wagyu beef and $2.99 for half a lobster tail! From my understanding, the wagyu beef promotion ends on March 31. Their egg fried rice and mochi dessert are so good!! You must order them :)

First time trying, we ordered the spicy scallop, spicy fish, egg fried rice and personal Maocai combo Taste 1/1* It's numbing, it's spicy, it can't go wrong. Value 0/1* Though said buy 1 get 1, when compared to the regular order of Maocai pot, it's more like buy 2/3 get 2/3, and I personally despise vendors that rip off their customers through promotions Speed 1/1* Order was prep's & received on time Presentation 0/1* Did not deliver well, packaging showed lack of care with 2 lids not even fully closed. They also placed the fullest pot on top, allowing it to drip all over the bag and rest of the order. Overall/Revisit 0.5/1* May consider revisit in person if ever in the area, but would not order via delivery again Above and beyond? 0/+1* Side note, of the pots that were ordered, none stated that they come with rice, but one single rice was given...

If you are in the mood for hot pot in this cold weather, this is definitely a can't miss spot. The traditional sichuan style hot pot is infused with so much flavour that you really can't stop eating. If you are not into spice, they also have different non-spicy soup bases as well. We tried their tomato base and it was yummy. Being able to warm up your own skewered meat and veggies with your favourite hot pot broth, then dressed with their own blend of dipping sauces, was such a unique and fun experience. Not only is their menu options vast, but the ingredients were of great quality. From the classics such as fatty lamb, wagyu beef, and fish slices, to the exotic variety of different offals and starches to soak up the great broth, everything we tried were very fresh and tasted sensational. Along with the exceptional food, the place was clean and their hospitality was amazing. It made the entire experience so much merrier. Highly recommend this place, especially when they have a promotion happening right now until January 15. You can enjoy 20% off on their menu (excluding soup base and drinks) during their weekday (M to F) lunchtime special between 11:30AM to 3:00PM. A great deal since their skewers are as low as 50 cents per piece.

Road side spicy pot located on kingsway is a hidden hot pot place with a good deal of unlimited 1.99 wagyu plate. (We ordered many plates and many skewers) the skewers are about 50 cents each and they have many options to choose from. We also got the tomato soup base which was nice and light. It was a unique experience because of the vibe with the wooden tables and chairs, it felt like you were actually on the roadside of Asia eating out in the food stalls. The hot pot is right in the middle of the table with the hole and stove. I really enjoyed the realistic and retro Chinese painting artworks on the walls. It reminds me of the old school Chinese Hollywood movies and I felt transported. Overall cool experience and would be great to go with groups of people to share skewers and hot pot meat over a nice meal. Also ordered some rice (the fried rice and egg wasn't worth it because it was just egg and rice not a fried rice at all) and noodles, it's best to order some sauce on the side as well to dip the skewers for more flavour is better too. The skewers are quite tiny and just has one thing on it, it really depends what you choose for skewers some are more worth it than others honestly so you just watch out for that but I wanted to experience it all so got a variety which was nice as well.

Amazing well prepared food , you can choose the spicy level ... the services were excellent. Didn't wait for long for food from the kitchen . Strongly recommended for one to try and enjoy

Authentic hot pot with great service and amazing options. This is a must stop place if you're looking for delicious hot pot and great beer!

Half traditional spicy and half mushroom broth with a plate of wagyu beef slices, sesame oil sauce, and a few skewers to start out!

After wanting to try this place for a while, my friend and I tried it out one evening! It was a sunny-turned-rainy day so we lucked out and it was not too busy. The staff were very attentive and our food came out right away! Highly recommend this place if you like hot pot and skewers (aren't they so fun to eat?). We got the half and half soup with traditional spicy and mushroom broth. While the traditional spicy is milder compared to a usual spicy hot pot soup, it was nice to get a non-spicy broth for contrast! For skewers, I enjoyed that they had a lot to offer, and most are $0.50 each! It does mean it's usually one piece of something, but you don't have to commit to a big plate of something :) My favorites were the bean curd, tofu skin, tender beef, and wagyu beef (this comes as a batch on a plate). To skip from what I ordered were black fungus (even for a skewer, it was a tiny piece ) and chicken heart (I hadn't tried it in hot pot before, this cut is better grilled with seasoning). I will definitely be back, next time I'll save some space for the desserts!!

Came for hot pot on a Saturday night. We didn't have a reservation and it wasn't busy as there were open tables available. I liked the decor of the restaurant. It was really cute and Instagram worthy for sure. The service all night was really fast. We had an instant where one of us dropped a chopstick and the server produced a chopstick within 5 seconds. Very sharp eyes. We ordered an array of dishes. I would definitely recommend the crispy pork slice (side dish for munching), cilantro beef (very appetizing), shredded beef tripe, spicy beef (side dish also for munching) and the Wagyu beef (for hot pot). In general, I felt that their portions for the items not on a stick are very generous and well priced. The items offered on a stick are meant to be small portions as tradition has it. I really liked the array of meat options available. I thought that the food was not bad and service was good. Would recommend it for hotpot and hanging out with friends (not so much for elders as the tables can be quite low). We also got a dessert just to try it out - brown sugar ice jelly. Very refreshing to end a very oily and spicy meal. Tip: the sausages on their are not your usual sausages you find at hot pot but the Chinese kind of sausage. FYI if you can't eat spicy don't order the spicy hot pot base as it is pretty spicy and oily.

An unique Chinese hotpot stewer place, the wall papers would bring you back to the 70's in China, good place for selfies. Food is typical Sichuan style, spicy and tasty. Each skewer is $0.5, we ordered like 20/person. For the soup you can have different ones, we choose the combination of spicy and mushroom one, I like the mushroom soup especially. Great place for small group dine out, highly recommended!

Peking Duck course was fantastic. Food was more than enough for 4 people. Duck lettuce wrap was fantastic we couldn't finish all of it. Hot and Sour Soup was rather sour than spicy. It was not the best, but tasted alright though. My parents would've liked the soup to be a bit spicy. Sliced pork with garlic was good. Deluxe Fried Rice was fresh and tasty. The food is typical mid end banquet style, but the flavours are good, and the value is there. Lettuce wrap - standard restaurant fare. Decent quality. Fried green bean - nice and spicy, thanks to the house chili sauce. They can tune the spiciness on this one. Default is on the spicier side. Tasty. Shanghai fried noodles - standard restaurant fare. Hot & sour soup - better than the competition. Not sure what's special about it, but it stood out. Chongqing deluxe fried rice - one of their signature dishes. Great mix of flavour. Crispy rice with shrimp soup - honestly this would be the one dish that wasn't that great. Rice blocks were crispy, but the shrimp soup was nothing special. I'd skip this dish. Other than the crispy rice, everything is pretty standard compared to similar places out there. Expectations were met. Very good value. I'd gladly eat here again. Recommended.

They're a Northern Chinese spot that specializes in Guangxi cuisine and located right next to Onezo Tapioca. Even though it closes at 9:00pm, there were still people after us that came in for late night eats. We didn't have any issues with service; they came by to fill our tea several times. Just wish they gave bigger cups. Food comes out in a hurry. The menu is short and sweet: noodles, rice meals, appetizers, wontons and drinks. Trip #1 First visit was on a late Wednesday evening (around 8:30pm). - Mama's unique special milk tea ($4.80) - we added grass jelly ($0.50) which was unfortunately from a can. The milk tea was different than the norm as there was sweet fermented rice bits mixed in. Decent but don't think we'd get it again. - Sour and spicy crystal noodle ($6.98) - glass noodles with minced pork, bean sprouts, cilantro and peanuts. We got our dish medium spicy which was mild. Broth was excellently balanced; loved the sour notes. Glass noodles had a satisfying bite and cilantro added freshness to the bowl. - House special escargot rice noodles in spicy noodles ($13.98) - escargot, pig ear, beef, tofu, marinated egg, shrimp and pork intestine. There was also pickled green beans, bamboo shoots, tofu skins, wood ear mushrooms and peanuts. Really different with a good variety of textures and flavour. Loved all the types of meat, especially the tender beef, pork intestine and pig ear. Escargot was tasty but we wanted more. The tofu skin and wood ear mushrooms underneath were excellent. - Fresh meat wonton ($5.98) - this comes in a light broth with 15 homemade wontons, pickled seaweed and baby dried shrimp. Broth is basic but the wontons are great. Trip #2 Second trip was on a Friday evening (around 8:00pm). - Braised beef, pig ear and tofu ($10.98) - the beef is the same as what you get in their noodle bowls. Pig ear wasn't crunchy but the sauce (some sort of Chinese mushroom) was good. Tofu was fairly standard. For the price, it's a small dish; I didn't think it was worth it. - Shredded chicken, vegetable and cold noodle with house sauce ($9.53) - they asked us how spicy we wanted it; we went with spicy. Again, it's not so don't worry. The noodles were thin and the sauce was almost like a dan dan mein. We liked how it wasn't overwhelmingly peanuty. - Beef and escargot rice noodle in spicy soup ($9.98) - the beef is super tender. Again, the escargots are hard to find but everything else in this bowl is delicious. Tofu skin, wood ear mushrooms, bamboo shoots, bean sprouts, peanuts and pickled green beans. Satisfying and spiciness finally came through. An interesting twist to the usual Northern Chinese spots typically found in town. Cash or debit only.
