Been going to Ricks for years but it's really gone down hill. Dropped off my dry cleaning Monday morning and was told it would be ready Tuesday after 5. I asked when they were open til (so I could pick up after 5) and she said 8. My husband got there to pick up at 6:05 and they were closed. They OPEN at 8, they are only open until 6, not 8! Since I needed one of the outfits for an appt. at 11 on Wednesday, I went up there again on Wednesday morning and only 5 of my 9 pieces were there. Of course the one I needed wasn't there. Martha had zero apologies for not having my clothes at the promise time. She literally didn't care and said they would be in later in the day. Well it's good I didn't go back up there again because I just now was contacted to let me know my clothes were ready - it's Thursday at noon. So 3 trips to pick up my order that was supposed to be ready Tuesday at 5. This will be my last time going to Ricks. read more

If there is ever a problem with your order, they contact you immediately and do whatever necessary to work it out. If I had my way, and would not get arrested, I would put yellow crime scene tape around this place. Some highlights of their hijinks: 1) Most recently, they separated my order into three. One segment came back on the appointed date. The next came 4 days later. Sadly, the last little segment was totally forgotten about until yesterday when I was missing my slick gray nailhead Van Heusen. So I went to inquire about it, thinking it was actually just hiding in my closet somewhere (I always blame myself first). Turns out they had 4 (four) shirts of mine and had no intention of letting me know about them, even though they had all my contact info. That, my friends, is borderline theft. 2) Prior to this, they had given about three or four of my garments to another dude (apparently you don't have to establish much ID in places like this). After convincing them that they were in fact mine, they were returned. I should have broken up with them after this transgression. 3) Finally, they are rabid Republicans and I am under no obligation to subsidize my opponent vis a vis dry cleaning. One of the most uncomfortable and rude situations I've been in recently. I came in to drop off clothes and wasn't greeted initially but saw a woman working through the glass window. She mumbled something but nothing more. So I went back to my car to get my 14 month old in the car and came back in. A man had entered in the mean time and Mary, the woman who was working, had started scanning my clothing frantically. The man said something rude like, "had you already come in? I saw our enter behind me." And I said I had already come in I drop my stuff off then went back to get my kid. He was rude. And Mary quickly ran through the rules about paying in advance and yadda yadda. I have ever paid in advance at a cleaners. And sure I wasn't listening that well. When she looked at me for payment I said, "I have never paid in advance at a cleaners so I have to go get my wallet in the car." Which led her and the rude grumpy man to roll their eyes and huff and puff. When I returned I said, "I'm sorry, should I take my clothes elsewhere? I feel like I have messed up." She said, "no." (But I should have). I left almost in tears and was writing this review in the car when Mary (who I learned later is a manager or something like that) came out to my window in the parking lot and apologized. It's the only reason I'm giving 2 stars. You know, I'm a young mom wagging my toddler around and really appreciate kind people. Do you think I like to have to unbuckle my child, carry him AND clothes in while holding my keys and wallet etc. EVERY single time I run errands and have to get out? No. I don't. It's actually really annoying. But when people are kind and nice it goes a long way. Be nice people. It's all we have and can change the entire day for someone. They ONLY get two stars because they're dirt cheap compared to other places. They've never lost any of my items. My items were only late maybe one or two times in three or four years. I had been a customer for some time, only having positive experiences. However, a relatively new dress came back with several inches of stitching ripped out. I took it back in and they weren't even apologetic. I probably would have continued coming if they made even a small gesture to "make it right." Instead the manager was just rude and dismissive. I also tried contacting the company via their website before posting a negative review and never even received a response. I've since started going to the Starbrite down the street. Danger Will Robinson! Danger! We have been customers of Ricks for 5+ years. Over the last couple of trips we have noticed that collars on shirts came back wrinkled, cuffs were wrinkled and overall the garments were not very clean. Took the clothes back to Rick's to ask for a "re-do". They did not seem to be very interested in doing this, but after some discussion they reluctantly agreed to re-do the shirts in question. Picked up the shirts last night and they were still not correct. Collars and cuffs were still were noticeably wrinkled (to the point of not wanting to wear the shirt). Took the shirts back in this morning. While the person in the store agreed that the shirts still did not look correct, she was unwilling to redo them again. I would not use. Low cost but the quality of the cleaning is so low, we are going to have have another dry cleaner "fix" the work that Rick's did our clothes. Run away! read more

Do not go here . They can't handle a simple washable Sherpa blanket. I get it cleaner at home . I totally wasted $15. I won't return for any reason even though it's practically next door. I normally don't have a problem with Rick's Cleaners but lately I have picked up items that I have had to send back to get repressed because it just didn't look very good. I recently dropped of a whiter shirt that came back with water stains on the back, sent it back. There was no text that my shirt was ready, went back a few day later the shirt was still water stained. It honestly looked like it wasn't even washed and pressed. I received a voicemail from Lucindia and left a message and never got a call back. I called again a few days later and she was out until the next week. Two weeks and no shirt and now answer to what is going on with this white shirt. Not a pleasant experience, once I get my item back I will take my business to another cleaners. read more

I love this dry cleaners! Their customer service is over the top!! One time they thought one of my pairs of pants weren't done exactly the way I would want them done and Jamie called me to let me know the pants were being re-done and would be back the next day! Cheapest dry cleaner in the area that gets the job done just as well as any of the other pricier options. I have had nothing but positive interactions with the staff here. The clothes come back clean and on time (pretty quick turn around). They are honest about what they can or cannot clean well here. The staff have handed me back more complicated items and recommended other places to take them. Awesome! I love the honesty. They just do the basics here. You are supposed to get a text when the clothes are done. But that never seems to work for me. You pay upfront for your items, so you can just grab your clothes and go when they are done. Ricks Cleaners 7435 Burnet Rd. May 16, 2011 Today I stopped in to rick's and was greeted by the manager and he was extremely apologetic regarding Saturday's event. He did everything in his power to let me know I was a valued customer. When I got home from work today- I had an email from Rick-the owner had emailed me again apologizing for the unprofessional behavior on Saturday. He assured me this is not how his company strives to treat their customers. I will continue to utilize them at this time. ------ I have been going there for years. For the price its OK ! I originally wrote a pretty negative review after picking up my husband's dress shirts with wrinkles in the collars, sleeves and front on a number of occasions. The manager, Ian, called me immediately, the same day as I wrote the review and was very kind and apologetic. He was willing to have them re-done (originally they would not let me send them back without having all 3 tickets!). They re-did the shirts and got most of the wrinkles out, except the collar, which they explained was due to the material (they ARE pretty cheap shirts). I'm still kinda' curious if another dry cleaners could get all the wrinkles out, but honestly, because they were willing to work with me, own their mistake and rectify the situation as best they could, with a kind and friendly demeanor, I am willing to stick around. *****chalk outlines of 3 missing shirts!***** If you want all of your clothes back, do not drop them off at Rick's!!!!! They have lost my clothes for the last time! I took in my shirts this time and 3 of them were missing when they gave them back. When I brought to their attention, they offer nothing other than condolences! They lost one shirt in the past at another Rick's store and I thought it was an honest mistake. I see now this is a trend for this business... I wonder how many times a day this happens @ Rick's? To save the world "one article of clothing" at a time, I plan to report this business to whom ever will listen...just to make sure more people aren't ripped off by them. Update #1: The latest from the crime scene... Big surprise...no call back from Rick's laughable customer service. These guys should be shutdown! ...Calling 7 on your side to see if they will take this since others have had issues. **************Update #2: My 3 Shirts found...Crime scene tape removed! The Owner gets Yelp feeds to his phone. The Owner must care about his business or he wouldn't be monitoring Yelp. The Owner contacted us and wanted to rectify the missing shirts situation. They found the 3 shirts and I just picked them up this evening. The lady I spoke with was cordial and apologized for the mishap. Rick's appears to be trying to get better at what they do. This is a big step for this business from where they were even 6 -12 months ago. That said, this review is only worthy of 3 stars right now. They caused me some time and gas for something that happens too frequently. When I see they have gotten much better, I will gladly change my review to something higher. I go here because they are the most inexpensive dry cleaner in my area. Considering this, I think they're pretty good with the quality. I was impressed they even were able to remove a stain on a silk dress that I thought for sure would not come out! (I pointed it out to them so they could tag it as "pre treat", but I really didn't think the dress could be saved....so nice surprise). The only thing I don't like is they use safety pins to hang up your skirts that go through the material. They now have a computerized receipt system which is nifty. The girl at the counter was quite friendly. And their turnaround time is great too: I had a large order I dropped off on Saturday, and it was ready for pick up by Monday 5 pm. A nice plus is they recycle your hangers and those pesky dry cleaning bags. read more

The price was reasonable and my clothes looked okay but the customer service sucks. I go there at 7 am and the man working took about 5 minutes to acknowledge me. He grabbed my clothes and shoved it into a bag then I handed him my card and he got pissed. He said there was a minimum amount to charge but he would make it work. But my total was $7 when the minimum was $5. Then the lady that helped me when I picked up my clothes was rude as well. She didn't say a word to me, just took my number and set my clothes on the rack. I would pay more for better treatment. I have been taking our dry cleaning to Rick's every single Thursday for the past 8 months and during that entire time, not once have I ever felt like this is a friendly neighborhood cleaners I enjoy going to. You would think by now they would recognize me and have a friendly greeting. Nope. Every time I walk in, smile and say hello, it is never returned, in fact, I feel the people who work there find it laborious and are put-off to even SAY 'hello'. They always just look plain miserable. The place has a very sterile feeling to it and heaven forbid you try to bring in clothing still on the hanger... after I pick up my clothing on Saturday, that will be the last time I return to Rick's. read more

I went to my normal dry cleaner/ alterations place to get a Bridesmaid's dress for an upcoming wedding steamed, unfortunately she couldn't do it. Got the dress shirts back and they're more wrinkled than when I dropped them off, and my white shirt is stained in several spots. Total waste of money. I'll never return. The price of this place cannot be beat. However, the service is flat out awful. Every person working here has no clue how to smile or say thank you or even have a nice day. The only words out of their mouths are "How many?" "Ready Tomorrow" "That will be..$". They are really a fantastic value. The only thing that could make it better is a computer system. It takes a little bit of time for them to write out all those tags. And they get lost when you come in without your receipt. I've heard that they are getting a computer soon though! Other than that they have always been pleasant and do a good job. read more

They brought the clothes out to my car, which was nice but a bit embarrassing since I hadn't devoted as much time to cleaning my car as I do my clothes.
