BEWARE!! They Ruined My $330 Wool Shirt! I only had one experience here, and it was enough to make sure I never come back. I brought in a No Nationality 100% Wool Overshirt ($330) that they completely ruined. It looks like they threw it into a washer and dryer, it came back misshapen, shrunk, and unwearable. I was understanding at first, hey accidents happen right? Nordstrom still carried the shirt in another color, so I replaced it myself and simply asked the cleaners to reimburse me for the damage. I've now called multiple times over four weeks, and every time I'm told "the manager will call you back." The call never comes. To make matters worse, on one call they forgot to put me on hold, and I overheard someone in the background say, "Ohhhh, it was wool." So they knew they ruined it, but still refuse to take care of it. If you value your clothes or your time, don't risk it here. This place has gone downhill since the new owner bought it. The pictures show my pants that were creased on the sides. This seems to have been in response to me sending shirts back for not having creased sleeves, which has happened several times. Also, I put a CC on file, because the woman at the front presented it as a requirement. I didn't want to use my debit card. A few months ago, the same girl charged that card instead of my debit card, which I wanted to use. I had to escalate to a manager, who followed up via text that she could not change my method of payment for the transaction. The same girl mentioned she charged the card on file again recently after I mentioned that I was sending more shirts back for not having the sleeves creased. It's not even all the passive aggression, but I'm not going to take the time to describe the other parts. Prices just went up, which wouldn't matter to me if they did what they were supposed to do with professionalism. I'll follow up when I find out the other places this owner bought. Warning to anyone in Austin: Avoid GC Cleaners (now Ecoclean) at all costs! I dropped off my $100 blouse on August 2nd for cleaning. When I went to pick it up around August 6th, they claimed there was no record of it--even after I showed them my ticket. They assured me someone would contact me once they found it. A month passed with zero communication, so I stopped in again since the phone number provided on the ticket had been disconnected. They gave me the manager's number, said they're "still looking into it," and promised a call back with an update. That was back in September--it's now November 21st, and I've heard nothing. Avoid like the plague. They LOST or STOLE my favorite pair of track pants. Can no longer complete the suit since the item is irreplaceable. But the worse thing is that they lied to me for 4 months about it. They had a recent high "turnover of employees" as they ALWAYS put it. The excuse I've gotten repeatedly is the person overseeing alterations is out. FOR 4 MONTHS? When I'm in their office, they make calls then claim they will call me before store closes for the day. The last time it happened was before the UT and GA football game. I didn't hear a peep out of them until 12/12 when I returned to their store. Then after THAT conversation, they did the same thing; said they would call at end of day but didn't. I've had enough. I'm taking legal action. We'll see how funny it is then. I dropped my clothes off in a labeled GC CLEANERS bag with my name tag on it, accompanied by a sweatshirt with pockets to be fixed. I dropped this off on Monday morning with the expectation of Wednesday home delivery. Thursday morning comes around and I haven't received a call or anything! I call and leave a message asking someone to call me back. No call. I finally get someone in the phone after work Thursday. They have lost my clothes! I'm not even the most angry about them making a mistake! It's their lack of accountability and follow through that is the most frustrating. Since Thursday I've called about 20 times (because I call back when it goes to voicemail). When I do get someone on the phone, they give me the run around and tell me that someone is going to call me back. I now stop them mid sentence when they tell me someone will call me. My wife dropped off her $8000 wedding dress to get pressed before our wedding THIS weekend and when we went to pick it up yesterday it was stained all over. It appears this business was bought from the old owner who used to do hand pressing - and now they just outsource everything to an industrial presser. The employee said they marked it as a "night gown". We've asked to speak to the owner or manager and it's been radio silence, there's been no communication from the owner or a manager. The tailor is having to cut out an entire piece of the train and redo it because it's that bad. We are PRAYING she can get the rest of the stains out. He is very very rude and has a nasty attitude. He did nothing to make this situation right. I feel he should replace my curtains. I am 71 years old and don't need this from Albert Gonzalez. If he didn't know the correct way to clean my curtains the he should have returned them to me. I can't rest right now from this situation. When they realized one of their people gave me the wrong pick-up day the owner immediately got defensive and told me to pick up my stuff so I didn't call him a bad business owner. Let me first start with the good stuff... my clothes were clean and pressed to perfection! A little background: I recently moved from Houston where I had everything at my fingertips. I spent a month looking for a cleaners in the neighborhood, that was affordable, opened on Saturday and would do a great job. Well, 2/4 was what I got- a great job and opens on Sat. While I don't mind paying for excellent service these prices were absolutely ridiculously overwhelming! How they get you, they don't quote you a price or give you an estimate so if you want to know- ask! Don't assume a shirt is 2$... it'll be whatever they want to tell you. And of course you want your clothe back right. I'm in Mueller so although not far from home, it's not around the corner. I likely won't be back unless I'm in dire need. read more

I hadn't been here before and I'm really disappointed in my experience. I thought they'd be better considering the reviews. There is no explanation that I found for why my dresses were more expensive than the base cost. Considering one was worn once and neither had visible marks, I'm really confused. There is also no explanation for why my comforter cover was pricey, and the job was disappointing to say the least. It wasn't ironed or repaired, and I can barely tell it was cleaned at all. The team was nice and the shop is clean. It's near home but I will have to find a different place. I honestly would give this place 5 stars but my comforter was still a bit wet when I received it. Shop: the cleaner is in a little sketchy looking area. I live in mueller so obviously not every place in Austin looks clean and modern like my area. However, it is probably in a older neighborhood if Austin. Inside is decently clean for a cleaners, nothing too special. Service: first of all, I was having trouble finding a cleaner that would accept my all feather comforter, this place did so I came here. The people were super nice and very friendly. I only brought in my comforter and they promised it would be done within 2-3 days which was delivered. I think if they would've let it dry for another day, it would've been completely dry since it was still a bit wet on the corners when I received it. Overall I really do like this cleaner, it's a bit pricier than the other one I have gone to. However this one feels like a ma and pa shop. I do like shopping local and I will definitely come back when I need my comforter to be washed again (probably will tell them to let it dry for an extra days worth). read more

Possibly the worst dry cleaners I have ever been to. I brought 1 year couch cushions to be dry cleaned after a cross-country move. They were slightly dingy from being my everyday couch. First red flag: the owner wanted me to take the pillow cases off their cushions, despite factory recommendations. He said he'd done this numerous times and it should be fine. I agreed. When I picked them up, they were packaged nicely so I paid and thought nothing of it. When I took them out of the plastic they had been put in, I realized that they were horribly discolored. It looked at though bleach had been poured over them. I took them back. The owner agreed to redo them (so he said). No apology so far. I came back a week later to pick them up. I was told that they had test cleaned one cushion and nothing changed, so they decided not to do the others. I requested my money back and after much debating--the owner telling me he couldn't believe they would be that dirty after only one year; the owner telling me that I had agree to let him put them in the wash (absolutely not, I brought them to a place for dry cleaning); the owner seeming to believe me a little more when my husband told him that he had not agreed to washing them either (my husband had been there for drop off); the owner implying that the pillow fabric was to blame and not him (no, I used a Home Depot upholstery cleaner on the rest of the couch without any discoloration)--I got a refund, but still no apology. This was a $3500 couch now ruined. I brought them to another dry cleaners up the street, who were appalled by the condition the cushions were in and by the fact that he had taken the covers off the cushions in the first place. They had them sent to a professional upholstery cleaners, but to they determined that there was nothing to be done. Very disappointing in terms of service and refusal to take proper responsibility for destroying my property. read more

Would absolutely not recommend this place. They say they can do same day dry cleaning if you drop off before 10am. I dropped it off yesterday afternoon. I had called before coming in and confirmed again when I dropped it off that the dress would be ready by 4pm the next day. We are leaving early for a road trip for a wedding early tomorrow morning. Not only was the dress not ready by 4pm like they said, but there were black spots on the back of the dress when my bf went to pick it up. It was literally worse than when we dropped it off. Nobody called me during the day to give me an update to let me know it wouldn't be ready. Nobody tried to fix it before leaving for the day. They just said I could take the dress and they wouldn't charge me or I could leave it for them to try again. Of course I don't have time for that. Now my dress is unwearable for the wedding. I thought I shrunk a Ted Baker Oxford shirt in the dryer. I talked to the boss that was there and instead of trying to convince me to spend more money on results that would not help me. He informed me that he had 20+ years in the industry and to check the instructions on the tag because he was sure that Ted Baker could be dry cleaned or washed and dried. I looked further into it and he was correct. Instead of spending more money at his place that would have no results he suggested I contact the company and they would send me a new shirt. I had called for other dry cleaner places before this place and they all suggested that I come in and we're charging me loads of money to supposedly un-shrink the shirt. Instead of abusing his knowledge and power against me the owner went out of his way to help me even though it had no benefit to him. I would 100% suggest going here because it is so hard to find genuine people who are looking to help others and not just make a buck off someone. read more

Do not go to this place. I had been a customer for years. I took a lot of winter clothes to be dry cleaned after our return from a trip. I noticed that I was missing a very expensive sweater and I immediately called and let them know. Some lady answered the phone and said that they would look for it. I did not hear back from them and went personally the next day. I brought in a picture of the sweater and told the lady how worried I was about this whole situation. She grabbed my phone with the picture and took it back to an office to show it to someone and came back and said that I had to give them one week for them to look and that they would call me. More than 2 weeks went by and no one called. Today I called and the owner got on the phone. I told him the whole story and he admitted that the lady showed the picture of the sweater to him but he said that "I am too busy and she had to take care of it and not me". He said that he did not loose the sweater, that I must have left it in one of the hotels in our trip, that he was not going to pay for it. He got very defensive and said that he was not going to ague with me and that he was going to go "with the records that I have" and HUNG UP THE PHONE ON ME. This man is a poor business man, very rude, very defensive. He says he has been in the business for over 25 years, that he is too busy,that he does not make mistakes and he is not going to waste any time or pay for any lost items because he is SURE that he did not loose them. He didn't even apologized for not getting back to me within a reasonable time. Do not trust this man with your clothes.
