If I can give 0 start, I will. I took my $2,500 Burberry coat to this place, expecting professional care, but they damaged the fabric around the buttons and broke a drawstring. When I brought up the issue, the owner refused to take responsibility, claiming the fabric was "too weak" - yet they never warned me before cleaning it. Instead of offering a solution, the owner told me to go elsewhere for cleaning and they had no interest in fixing the damage. His attitude was terrible, showing zero concern on customer. The best they offered was a refund of the cleaning fee, which does nothing to compensate for the damage to an expensive coat. A reputable dry cleaner should stand by their work, not dismiss valid concerns. If you care about your high-end or delicate garments, I would not trust this place with them. The employees are unfriendly, especially one of them (she is the one with eye-glasses, short hair). Parking is always a problem because they block it off to prevent people from parking. When you try to park, they rush outside and act rudely as if you're just trying to park there instead of being a customer. When you tell them you're a customer, they give a ridiculous response like, "How was I supposed to know?" The ironing quality is poor; shirts are not properly ironed. They can't remove stains at all. And they are very expensive. I do not recommend this place. read more

To help out my wife I agreed to drop off and pickup the cleaning first thing this Monday morning. The website said they opened at 7:00am, I arrived at 6:55am. The first employee arrived and unlocked the door about 7:10, 2 other employees arrived shortly after. I am getting out of my car to drop off and pickup when I am told they do not open until 7:30am. I informed them that their website said they opened at 7:00am, the flippant response I got was "oh yea that was before covid". I sat there and waited until 7:30 and left. Overall pretty disappointed with this place. It was recommended by some friends so I thought I would give it a try. They did a good job with my suit and dress shirts but didn't deliver for my wife's wedding dress. It came back discolored in places which was heartbreaking for her. What was even more frustrating was when we went back to talk to them about the dress, we showed up at 1:03pm on a Saturday and they locked the door and wouldn't let us in. I understand they close at 1pm but there were 2 people at the counter just shaking their head "No." I will edit/post an update if we ever get this resolved. This is the only place that I would take an item of clothing that I love. They are the best! When we moved my dad out of his house, we found our mother's wedding dress from 1946. It was still in fairly good shape but a little yellowed and very wrinkled. The guys at Kim's did an amazing job! They weren't able to save the veil because it was too brittle with age, but the dress and shoes turned out just like they looked in December, 1946. While they are expensive, they are always willing to quote a price before you leave an item there. Very honest and forthright. A good business with a conscience. read more

I have been a customer of Kim's for a long time. The staff is friendly, but can not make decisions. Recently they destroyed one of my shirts. It cost $185 - I have the receipt to show it and did show it to Mr. Wray - the owner. I met with him twice and asked the staff several times about it. No response at all. I am a huge fan of Kim's Cleaners!! They give your clothes the special attention that makes all the difference. You know that panicky feeling when you see the "we tried but couldn't get the spot out"? I usually can't even see the spot they are referring to! On the rare occasion when I can, at least I have confidence that they really tried. They also pay attention to little things like missing buttons and small needed repairs - and then they just do it! I have seriously sent things to be cleaned with the intention of taking it in for repair to a different alterations shop but when I got my dress back, they had already sewn up the torn pocket. Ditto for a shirt that was missing a button - they came up with a matching button and fixed it on their own initiative. Another big plus, plus, plus is that my things never come back with that stinky, sweet, syrup- like smell of old dry cleaning solution. Kim's sends their solution off to be tested on a regular basis and makes sure that what they are using is fresh. In a word these people have STANDARDS and they are exemplary. My most recent experience involved a phone call to tell them that I was spending summer months at my new condo in the mountains but had forgotten to pick up my dry cleaning before I left. I wanted to be sure they wouldn't have a "not responsible after 30 days" policy. Otherwise, I would have to find some benevolent soul who was willing to be my step-and-fetch-it to go and pick up my things. Their response was "of course not" and they held onto my things for another couple of months. They get to know their customers - I've obviously been going there for years - and occasionally, when I come in to pick up my things, they've already pulled them for me since they know who I am when I pull into the parking lot or drive thru. I also need to mention the time that they had to look around for one of my things and since it took a few extra minutes, there was no charge for that item. Courtesy and consideration just don't get any better than this! I spend a lot of time and effort building a wardrobe and it's just a pleasure to have people like this in partnership with me to care for them. As an aside, when I drove through yesterday, I noticed a little container of water which I presumed was for birds ( I saw a bird on the ledge nearby) and when I asked about it, the guy explained that they had become concerned to see the birds trying to drink the toxic puddles that were left on the ground after cars pulled away from the drive thru. We're in the middle of a severe drought right now so these are obviously desperate birds and it just goes to show what an inherent level of care the people at Kim's Cleaners embrace. I was referred to this business by a client of mine specifically for their handbag cleaning service. I took my handbags in 3 weeks ago, and was told the cost per bag would be approximately $50/bag + shipping to the facility they use for bag cleaning. I agreed, because my referral source raved and told me her bag looked new after using this service. I did not get the price written down, which was my mistake. I went to pick the bags up today, and was told the cost was now twice what i had been quoted originally. I was shocked, paid, got my bags and left. Now I feel scammed. I would never ever send someone here or bring my business back. If I had been quoted the cost I just paid at the outset I guarantee I would not have left my bags to be cleaned there. read more

I really like Kim's cleaners and this is why. They have great customer service. They are super nice even if you leave your clothes for a long time. They do a really great job and will be honest if they don't think they can clean something. They will refer you to a specialist if you have a hard to clean item. I don't perceive them as being far pricier than other cleaners, they seem to be about average. The only thing that could be improved is the repair/tailer. It would be nice if you could get basic repairs done but they don't do much more than buttons. Otherwise, good cleaners with good hours. read more

I can't remember HOW I found out about Kim's, but I've been taking my very special dry cleaning there for the past 15 years -- antique French tablecloths with incredible hand-embroidered monogramming, antique embroidered tablecloths, delicate lace Belgian tablecloths handed down in the family, antique silk kimonos and other really priceless things that needed cleaning -- or repairing -- I wouldn't trust anyone else. They do meticulous work, cleaning and repairing. I have now moved to Lockhart and I STILL take my things into Austin, into Kim's, because they ARE THAT GOOD. It's worth the trip. Proceed with caution! Take photo of items you are dropping off and keep ticket. I do not like posting about locate businesses but others need to be aware of this critical mishap. I dropped off items to be cleaned and when I returned to pick them up they could not locate them. They looked me as if I was a fool because I could not remember what I had left. They said once I remember what items I left then return and they would try to locate them. I remembered one item and immediately returned. They found my shirt which had no tag therefore I have no idea how they would have located even if I had ticket. Now I'm concerned I have other items there because I have returned at least twice and gotten "We have nothing for you". In addition the counter guys were rude and yes I most definitely was not kind because I was FURIOUS as I feel I had the right to be. And yes I said MANY obscenities but don't give me attitude when you were in the wrong especially don't make the customer feel like they were stupid because they can not remember what they left or kept their ticket. Spoke to manager and he was apologetic about the mishap and told me to keep ticket in the future. I have used Kim's for years as they were recommended by Julian Gold where I shop frequently. Thank you for taking care of my clothes in the past but I can not risk you losing any of our clothes. read more
