Great place, great staff! I originally planned on going there just a couple of times until we purchased a new washer and dryer for our remodeled home out in the country we had just moved into. But, in those two trips I thought why in the world would I wash clothes any other way now? With a huge king blanket, sheets, lots of clothes and towels each week it takes about 2 to 2.5 hours there of washing, drying and folding as opposed to....,probably 8 to 9 hours of being stuck at home over the weekend waiting on the one washer and dryer to finish. Not only that, but most of the time we're in a drought situation and with a well, we have to be more conservative with water use. It has now been over two years that I've been going there. Depending on which day I'm there I can always count on seeing the same really sweet and helpful people. It's easy to go in, load the card given to you with $ and start washing. I had my washer go out at home and my laundry started to pile up, so scanned for a laundromat near me. I found Wash Day Laundry and the reviews were positive, so I gathered my clothes. The next day I arrived in the morning and noticed the times had changed where this place did not use quarters but use a credit card to pay. They also provide some updated services like dropping off laundry and they wash/dry/fold them and even pickup/delivery service. Three stainless steel Speed Queen washers were available and tossed my clothes into each one of them. You can pack up to 3/4 of clothes into the front loading drum. The lady working there helped me out by turning them on and showing me where to pour in the liquid soap (one cup). Remember to bring your own soap, but I think they sell some there. It was about $5 to wash and did not need to dry them there since my dryer was working, and took my wet clothes home. The machine had a digital countdown timer and took about 30 to wash. The door had a window so could see your clothes thrashing around. There are some seating available, restrooms and WiFi. They did have a TV but was showing old reruns of Friends. I just plugged in my AirPods and continued watching my marathon of The Office while I waited. Wash Day Laundry also had a few large washing machines ($7) to handle big items like comforters and blankets. It is nice to have someone working there to help you out and after my second visit I started to learn the routine there. So our washing machine decided to break on the day that is our normal laundry day. And we located this wash and dry laundromat on 71 near Jack Allen's. We walked inside and we were greeted by the lovely attendant Anna, who explained how the washing machines worked, how the dryers worked, etc. You essentially can pay with cash or credit at a machine and they give you a card that you then use on the different machines you want to use. You can also replenish the card as needed, and you can keep it for future use. Well, the laundromat is clean. The machines work well and everyone was fairly pleasant. I would say if your washing machine breaks, or you just need a laundromat to do your laundry, give this place a try. read more

This review is a bit overdue. First time visit after the winter storm which left many of us without running water at home due to busted pipes. Place was neat and orderly. A staff member helped us with the initial payment for washers and dryers. Once we were done, worker tallied our total amount due and we paid using a credit card. Pretty easy and straightforward. I have never been to a laundromat before. I've either used my home's, my apt, or hotel washer dryers. I got a Coma Inducer and it won't fit in the washer I have properly. So I brought it here not really knowing exactly what the difference is between a household washer/dryer and larger industrial machines. I walked in and told the girl working what I had and what I wanted to do, and she set my comforter straight. She was so quick, and I just love that. It's so nice to shop and have services where you can just fully trust whoever is working their has their shit together. And this laundromat does. 5 STARS. It's also really clean inside and the boards they have to list prices and services is so well done! Very clean and artistic like a Starbucks chalkboard. read more

They are very friendly & extremely helpful! Very attentive to the sofa slipcovers I've taken there for years. They even suggested I not use Clorox on the white covers, bc it would turn them yellow & they provided OxiClean, instead. Did a great job! I returned to pick up beautifully clean covers. You ask the attendant to start the machines, both washer and dryer and she does so with a card. Everything was efficient and clean. First time coming here and probably my last. I walked in and went to the cashier's desk to ask questions about how to use the machines and no one came by for a good five minutes. I started to walk near the bathrooms where the office was to see if it was occupied and then a hispanic woman approached me and I swear she addressed me as "fea" which means ugly in spanish. Maybe she thought I was some gringa who didn't know her Spanish or I could have just misheard her? Besides that I also thought it was too expensive = $11 for a king size comforter? Maybe Im just a cheapo. Pluses were that the facility was clean and the washer/dryer functioned adequately. There's a laundromat off William Cannon/ Manchaca thats way less expensive and the staff there is friendlier. read more

Ok, I'm the type of gal who hates doing laundry and puts it off until I'm forced to wear my "sexy night only" undergarments, which don't feel so nice under a pair of jeans. It is usually only then that I drag myself to a Washateria since I live in Tarrytown, and apparently I live in the only condo in the area that does not allow its residents to install washer-dryer connections. Although this washateria is far from me, I prefer it for several reasons: 1) It is absolutely immaculate- they have someone on staff at all times cleaning up trash and rubbing the machines dry with a cloth (I'm not joking). 2) It is ALWAYS staffed with a manager to oversee things or answer questions. The owner is super friendly and sweet! 3)No more coins!!! They work on a card system and you can add credit to it with cash or a debit card. One time I found a bag of quarters from my old washing days, and they even changed that for cash for me so I could put the mula on my card! 4) My clothes come out very clean and smelling good! I have been to other washaterias, and for some reason, my clothes never smell like they do when I washed at my mom's house. At this place, they totally do!! 5) Energy saving washers and dryers. 6) They only have large-capacity washers and dryers. Although this may be a negative for those that wash every 2 days, my loads end up being ginormous, so this saves me from having to take up 2 or 3 regular washers with one load of darks! Yippeee! The washers I use fit about 2 loads of clothes, cost $3, and take about 25 minutes. The dryers cost $.30 for 7 minutes, and I usually need about 28 mins for clothes, and a little more for towels and linens. 7) Free wireless!! More than anything, I feel safe going to this place and I love how my clothes come out! read more

This place is awesome. I've never taken my clothes to a wash/dry/fold service before, so I felt a little weird handing a complete stranger FORTY POUNDS of dirty laundry. Yeah, that's right. Forty pounds . I had a couple of plastic containers full of clothes from when I moved a couple of years ago. When I got there, they were having a Monday Special, and it was only 99 cents per pound (plus tax), so I saved a bit of money. Sure, I could've taken the time to wash them at home, but I liked the idea of just dropping it all off in one shot instead of running a "laundry train" on my washer and dryer. The guy who was working when I picked up my clothes two days later seemed a bit disorganized, but I think he might've been new. And no, I didn't weigh the clothes post-wash to see how much dirt washed out of them. read more

I really wish I didn't have to write a bad review. But, it's gotten so bad that I can't go there any more. First, Jamie is fantastic. However, one of his associates seems to think that customers are the equivalent of squatters in her little domain. You'll know who she is. She won't smile or greet you. She'll mumble under her breath in Spanish. If you ask for help, don't waste too much energy on the first attempt. It usually takes a couple tries to rip her attention from the soap operas on TV. If you go there around 7:30, you'll get the evil eye. In fact, she'll tell you to hurry up because she has to go home. Yes, lady, so do I. I understand the difference between a laundromat and a coffee shop. If she is standing in front of the machine when your load is done, ask her politely if you can get your laundry. After the third request, be prepared to dive out of the way as she kicks a plastic stool clear across the aisle. Watch out for the rebound off the machines on the other side. If you tell her that the card swipe is not working, gaze in wonder as she turns and walks away. You probably deserved that. Don't worry she'll be back in 10 minutes - can't miss too much TV after all. read more

I checked in from here about a week ago and forgot to come back and update. I agree with many of the details about this place of business EXCEPT for the employee comments. I believe I encountered the same employee as some others BUT, my expereince was totally awesome. She was friendly and helped me to understnad the nuances of how they run their business. It wasn't quite as clean as some of the other reviewers said it was (let's face it, people in general are pigs!) but it wasn't filthy either. Here is why: -The owner was super helpful and guided me along the entire process of washing and drying. He was really on his feet the entire time I was there helping everyone. -Great clean facility (even the bathroom was really clean). -Wonderful selection of magazines (Real Simple etc.) -More then enough places to sit down while waiting. Yes! As good as it gets! as far as laundromats go. To be honest I have no recent comparison as I have not used a laundromat in over 20 years; but, after my washer's spin cycle died 2 weeks ago I had been absolutely dreading doing my laundry in public and was so pleasantly surprised. Walking in with 3 loads of linens and towels and a load of clothes I was so confused by all the new technology (no coin or bills excepted?). So, I inquired with the very friendly attendant and she instructed me to stuff all 3 large bags of linens and towels into 1 side load washer (I was very skeptical that my towels could wash properly all stuffed in there but they did) and at 3.25 a great deal! When I told her I wanted to use the 1.75 washers for my 1 load of clothes she warned me they take twice as long (well time is money) so I used the 3.25 24 minute washer. The friendly attendant swiped THE card (you can purchase a card if you are a regular) to start my laundry and I paid her 6.50 cash at the register (they also take Discover and Visa but not my only CC AMX). I decided to go down the street to walk a homeless dog being boarded at my dog's Vet but if you want to kill some time there is also an HEB and a car wash less than a minute away.... If you choose to hang out they have free WiFi and a flat screen TV on YNN. When I came back to get my clothes the attendant was cleaning the tops of the washers while joking with an elderly customer about Doctor visits:)! read more

Simply the best laundry establishment in the Austin area. The facility is clean, the atmosphere is energetic and positive, the staff is over the top professional and courteous. I have had shirts washed and pressed, my comforter cleaned, and many sport coats cleaned. Not a single complaint and I don't expect any. This is what Laundry service should be. I went to Wash Day Laundry on Rt 71 after having read the reviews on Yelp. I have a washer and dryer at home, but they're not big enough for the bed comforters. So I said what the heck. I walked in with the two comforters and they just stood there and looked at me waiting for me to say something. The usual "good morning" or even "buenos dias" was alien to them. I said, " I'd like to have these washed please". The girl looked puzzled, as if to say, "who me"? Evidently, customer service is not their forte. They did wash them timely even if they did shrink a little. For the $40 they charged me, I never got a smile...Next time I'll just throw out the comforters and buy new... read more

I used the current Yelp deal ($13 for $20 of wash service), so I feel the need to share the experience with others. Wash Day Laundry is definitely clean-- it's probably one of the cleanest laundromats in Austin. The two people who served as attendants, a lady named Martha and a man who probably owns/manages Wash Day, were both extremely helpful and kind. I will say that when I showed the female attendant my Yelp deal, she didn't know what to do with it at first, so you may have to walk her through it a little. The Yelp deal is definitely worth it though because doing laundry at this place is expensive! It's 35 cents to dry for 7 minutes, and you will probably need 35-42 minutes, depending on the size of your load. Why only four stars, you ask? On a Monday afternoon, it was so crowded! I had to wait for a washing machine. Not just the one I wanted-- ALL of the washing machines were in use (I think one was out of order). It's kind of small, and they have a 99 cent deal on Monday for drop-offs, so I think that might have caused me to wait. Avoid on Mondays. Since I typically work Monday-Friday, I wouldn't mind trying this place on a weekend, but I am concerned I'll run into the same issue again. Everyone in the place seemed to have a LOT of laundry to do (me included!). Also, I feel some people would probably like to know this going in-- there are no vending machines, so you might want to bring your own coffee, soda, snacks, etc. I know I like to have a little fuel for such a huge chore, so come prepared. There is a convenience store next door, but it was raining and I wasn't about to walk over there in the rain. I'll probably go back, but the drive and the expense are not really worth immediate or frequent trips. read more

A few weeks ago my family became in desperate need for a Laundromat. Automatically I come onto Yelp and found the Wash Day Laundry, and an hour later we were on our way. Though the trip takes about 20 minutes, it is always worth it. One of the things that I found nice was the variety of size between washers and dryers, so that we could put everything into one load. The dryers take at least 35 minutes, but if we ever wash towels here we take them back to our house and use our dryer since it takes so long to dry them there. Some other positives: there is a television, the building is always clean, and there is a mini multi-game arcade in the back. The only other negative thing I have to say is that one of the employees here was rude, and either never helped or took a long time to do anything (example: 12 minutes to get detergent when no one else was there). read more

One of ladies is either just in a constant bad mood or just really gets a kick out of being rude. I might even go as far as to call her "snarky". Granted, laundry isn't the most fun task, so I somewhat understand her irritation. I have encountered her here before over the past few years, and it's pretty much the same unwelcoming attitude each time. Where is Rosa? I miss seeing her! The lady that I am referring to is unhelpful, condescending, and even went as far as to imply that I broke one of the dryers by simply inserting my pre paid laundry card in the wrong way. Washing machine broke during the pandemic, and between waiting for repair (not viable) and delivery of new machine, I went here to wash and dry 4 large loads. Very clean, not crowded on weekday morning, and all machines working. Two women working to help self-serve and drop off, and paid for everything when finished with debit card (no quarters!). It's been years since I've been to a laundromat, and experiences before weren't good. This place is very clean, attendants spray carts and folding tables, floors are clean and no lint and trash anywhere. Noticed they do a booming business in bedspreads and comforters ($20) and the workers never stopped washing, folding and packaging drop-off (of course, more expensive but likely worth every penny!). BTW, we all wore masks, there was space to distance, and all got along fine. Nice to treat myself with a frozen slush from Sonic on the way out of the center. read more
