I never thought I'd find myself back at a laundromat, but here I am --with $37 on my account from the last time. There are four Spinzone locations-- three being in Austin, one in Round Rock-- and out of the three in Austin, this one feels the safest. Spinzone has created an online interface that can be assessed via mobile. Though convenient, there are several kinks with the app that needs improvement. A few flaws include: not being able to reload funds to your account, the app constantly crashing and requesting you to log in, and the difficulty navigating between pages. If you're using the mobile app, you can choose the machine that best suits your laundry needs. For washers, they offer 20, 30, 40, 60, and 80-pound capacity options. For dryers, you can select from 30, 45, and 70-pound capacity machines. The washers can run pretty pricey. For an 80 lb load, I paid almost $14 on a regular wash setting. However, the dryers are fairly affordable. For a 70-pound load, it only cost around $4. The process is pretty straightforward: 1) find the washer &/or dryer that fits your clothes 2) load them and lock the door 3) follow the prompts on the reader 4) add your detergent 5) adjust the wash/dry settings 6) hit start. My heavy load washed in just 20 minutes, and drying took no more than 45 minutes! Unfortunately, if you have a heavy load, the dryer door may not stay closed... we found our dryer to be open and our clothes spilling out when we returned. The place has WiFi with not internet access. Avoid this place. There are cheaper places that actually get your clothes wash right. I have been there a couple of times and this place must be on economy because they barely fill the front loader with enough water to properly wash my clothes. My clothes don't get clean. I use 2 pods and Sanrio softer and after I wash, you would even know. Some of my clothes still smell like it wasn't washed. I have come out of this place always disappointed. I'm better off washing by a bucket and scrub brush. read more

This place used to be great, when it first opened. An excellent laundry mat, for many years. Reliable, clean, good staff. These days, it's awful: * Powdered soap clogs every washing machine intake. It never gets washed out. On my last trip, I really had to hunt to find a machine with a soap intake that wasn't just caked in either old soap or weird black flecks that might be mold. * Machines are often broken. Maintaince is no where near as consistent as it once was. * The public wifi hasn't worked for months. * There was a homeless dude wandering the laundry stealing people's clothing. I confronted him. Another patron confronted him. Staff confronted him. After me and the other patron left, I was sitting in my car, and he went right back to sneaking around stealing people's stuff, with no intervention on the part of staff. Dealing with crazy meth heads is part of city life, but my skinny ass shouldn't have to play cop, espeically not after staff noticed him and failed to kick him out. --- It is my hope that SpinZone returns to form someday. It would be exceptionally convenient for me. But as it stands, I have to advise that people seek out cleaner and safer laundrymats, even if it means driving miles. read more

Absolutely horrible. This place used to be so clean and reliable and now it has literally gone to shit. So many machines that don't accept the required laundry card, so many dryers that don't accept coins. It's a frustrating experience when you need to wash your clothes. I have been using Spinzone on and off for 15 years. Mostly, when busy I drop my clothes off for wash and fold. Since a vast number of their machines are always broken it really is not possible to wash there when they are busy. This past week I dropped off clothes and they lost them. I mean - do not have - gone. I dropped off (3) Patagonia Shorts, (2) Gramicci Shorts, (2) Royal Robins shorts, new sweatshirt, 2 new REI shirts, (2) Dakine tank tops plus towels, socks, etc. Replacement value $900 plus. Today, they offered me $200. These people are the absolute worst!!!!! Do not take your clothes to this laundromat. If they like your clothes - they steal them!!!! I can only assume to owner's wife likes Patagonia. Now - the only recourse I have is to hire an attorney and hound them to the ends of the earth. Which I will absolutely do!!!!! I hate my apartment complex laundry room. It's expensive, the units are small, dirty, poorly maintained (whether or not the washer/dryer works is a crap shoot and you can only find out after you pay), and the climate control leaves a lot to be desired. Pls. There's no place to wait, and if you don't wait, there's always the chance that someone could take your laundry! So I came to spin zone this morning. It's a little before 7 on a Saturday and there are people here, but not many. But there are sooooo many units, that's not an issue at all. A lot more people could show up and still have plenty of units leftover. The prices are fair. $4.50-5.25 for a 4 load washer depending on your solid level, and $.50 for 30 minutes of dry time. The machines take coins or debit/credit (be aware that if you choose debit, there will be a $15 hold out on your account), and there are change machines for $1, $5, $10, and $20 bills, plus you can convert coins other than quarters to quarters! There are TVs if that's your thing, and free google fiber wifi. I will definitely be back. read more

The new assistant manager needs to get off her high horse and understand what customer service is all about. If you don't want to have bikes in the laundromat then MAYBE you should all install a bike rack where I can safely leave my bicycle locked up... This women has threatened to call the police on me for bringing a bicycle inside the laundromat. OUT OF FEAR it'll be stolen due to lack of no bicycle racks or safety to leave my bicycle...... Has a 24/7 attendant, usually the place is pretty clean. The bathrooms have a code on them but that doesn't keep the homeless from coming in WHILE you're actively using the toilet. The laundry is pretty modern and has a clean appearance. I guess they charge more for a load of laundry because they are a 24-hour laundromat. Too many machines were out of order considering they charge very pretty quarters. The reason why that was probably my first and last time there was they have no public restrooms available. I am elderly and have health conditions which make an available restroom necessary. If you are open, be fully open. read more

My washer broke went to wash here 4 times left to shop for few grocery items at heb 2 times some of my and kids clothes were s t o l e n. The clothes were a bit damp from thieves interfering with my clothes in dryer. There are thieves in my case a couple he folded same clothes over and over near dryers in corner while she sat at table in front of customer desk stalking the place to steal. I know these are hard times but we the honest hardworking single parents who use this Laundromat don't need this happening. Shame on you thieves. Really chill environment. Staff was super friendly. Washing price ranges from $2.50 to $3 (low to high) soil level. The dryers are $0.25 per 7 minutes. I have been going here for at least a year since the pandemic started and always have the same routine. Because of Covid many and most people go in put their clothes to wash and then wait in their car. I had been doing that and just this last Sunday my clothes were stolen from the dryer. The staff was not very helpful when I told them what had happened. I left my number so if maybe someone took them by accident they could call me if they got returned. We never got to see footage from cameras because the manager can only see the cameras and they're only in for a short period of time in the morning Monday through Friday. It's just kinda lame so beware and be careful if you sit in you car while your clothes are inside. read more

Open 24 hours!! My dog Dolly barfed all over the comforter on my bed near bedtime and rather than just wait until it got all dried and crusty I decided to take it down to Spin Cycle for a wash and dry at 11PM. Spincycle has taken over the old Blockbuster video that closed so they have doubled in size and are currently in the process of this expansion. Their plan is to use the older section for the smaller washer and dryers (they are getting more) and the expansion section will be for the bigger units. They also plan on adding a child play area and outdoor patio. Currently Spincycle offers conveniences for you while you wait on the wash and dry such as snack machines, retro arcade games and toy machines. They have flat screen TV's blaring over the machines and free wifi. The night I went the wifi was good and strong enough to where I ended up watching episodes of Arrested Development on my iPad to review for an upcoming pub quiz. If you only have $20 bills from the ATM you can have the bills broken down with their bill machine that spits out fives and tens. From here you can use their other machine that makes bills into quarters. The machines only take quarters. They also have machines that dispense soap and softener. Prices for the machine range from $2-3 for the smallest machine wash all the way up to $8 for the biggest machines. Dry time runs about 20 mins for fifty cents. It took 3 rounds of drying to dry my king sized comforter and even then it wasn't 100% dry but I was tired and wanted to go to bed. Just an FYI on the drying. read more

There's room in there for all those quarters. It's really cold too. The AC is all pumped up. Maybe it's to slow down sperm production so people won't have so many kids. What can you say about a laundry mat? They're filled with seedy characters pawing their own underwear while pretending to watch golf and hogging the dryers. Luckily Spincycle tries to make it as painless as possible with TVs, 1-5 load washers, pinball, Wifi, etc. The cons are the creepers staring at you. Seriously. Stop staring. Confession: I have zero desire to do anything SXSW related. I'll hang with whatever friends come to town, and I may yet be convinced to hit one or two particular shows, but I would rather avoid the whole thing as much as possible unless I can get the band I manage into a couple of last minute shows (this may happen). So here we are, Friday night, Spring Break, and SXSW... tonight I did 9 loads of laundry, I'm cleaning my apartment, and my hair hasn't been washed in a week. I treated myself to some Taco Bell. Those Dorito Loco tacos, man, they are WILD AND CRAZY. SPRING BREAK, BITCHES!!!! Wooooo! Anyway, since I decided at 9pm that today was the day all that laundry was going to get done, I headed to Yelp to find a 24 hour laundromat with Wifi and some sort of tasty junk food nearby, and so I found myself at Spincycle. All told, it was not an awful experience, which is really all anyone can fairly ask of a laundromat. I got my laundry done quickly, as there aren't exactly many people twisted enough to think that this is a fun way to spend this particular Friday night. I was able to get two giant washers, and 4 dryers lined up next to each other on the top row. The prices were in line with what I'd expected to pay. I'm not sure what other reviewers are complaining about there. I paid less than a dollar a load with those big 5-load washers, and I can't recall the last time I saw a laundromat where 7 minutes wasn't the standard for 25 cents of dryer time. Really, I shouldn't complain, except... the Wifi. The only thing that makes sitting in a laundromat bearable for me is being able to surf Facebook or whatever. Seriously, I don't know how people managed before smartphones and tablets. And the Wifi here was spotty at best. The attendants were friendly and apologetic about it, but unable to get to the office to even try to reset the modem. Apparently the one person who can do this is only present in the morning. I never wanted to know exactly how many of the games on my iPad require internet access to play effectively. Thank god I at least have Plants Vs. Zombies, or I would be docking two stars instead of just the one for this very admittedly first world complaint. read more

I like SpinZone (north one, at least, on Cameron Rd.). I only go there to wash large quilts, which won't fit in my own washer. Years ago they had a pretty crappy setup, with old machines that ate quarters and, for those that allowed credit cards, often didn't read them properly. In the last few years it's been massively improved. All machines are new and shiny, and the credit card readers and digital info pads work great. Very few machines out of order. They even have wifi. But there is one bizarre thing, and this has happened each time I went. I do a quilt for $8 (wash and dry). I get home, and look at my credit card account, and SpinZone has billed me for $15. Duh? An hour or two later, I've been billed again by SpinZone for $8. Whaaa? I look at my cc account, and the $15 charge was cancelled. So why in the world do I get precharged for $15? I'd get upset, but this seems to happen repeatedly, so I sort of expect it. read more

It's a laundromat, people. Thereby it's not glamorous, but it's the best I've found in town so far. Clean floors, so if you drop your sheets, you're not going to have to stick them in the wash again. Relatively uncrowded, so if you drop your thong on the ground no one's going to pick it up or freak out. Machines almost all in working order, and plenty of large ones for double, quadruple or quintuple loads. People are courteous too, and the staff seemed to be doing a good job with their drop-off wash-n-fold service. I'd actually trust them to clean my clothes nicely and get them all back intact. TV is set to an English-language channel, but the din of the machines, crowd and TV isn't so loud that I couldn't read my magazine in peace. I'll be back. read more

It's probably one of the decent laundromats I go to. First I'm annoyed at the fact that if you are carrying a lot of laundry, they don't make the doors any easier to get in or out of the place. People help each other open or close the doors. Either get automatic doors or make the doors either push or pull if you know what I mean. Depending on who's working at there, they do their best to clean up the place and maintain it. They do have wifi here which is always a plus. It is loud and crowded a lot of the times. The only reason why I come here is because I don't have decent laundromat nearby. read more

While in transition from temporary room in someone's apartment to my own place, I was left with no washer/dryer. This was a problem since I went through clothes quickly (one outfit for work, another to do dinner/go for a walk in) and my laundry basket seemed to always be full. This lead me to a Yelp search of 24/7 laundromats in my area. Spincycle was located down Oltorf and behind HEB, score. I loaded up my car full of clothes and pulled into Spincycle at 10p.m. on a Tuesday night. I was surprised to see many people there doing laundry but even with a few families and cool young people, there were plenty of machines open for use. The place isn't cheap by any means but they have a 24/7 attendant constantly walking around picking up dust balls and dryer sheets and wiping down all the machines. Most of the time, I used the 2-3 load washers to get my clothes done (faster than waiting for every load to finish), which is probably why . Those machines only took 45 minutes to complete a wash cycle then I threw everything in the dryer for about an hour. Although pricey, this location was clean and made washing/drying my clothes every other week quick and easy. Now my closet smells of lavender and flowers blossoms, mmmmmm. read more
