I was searching online for a fluff and fold laundry service for a short term rental…read moreproperty that I help my daughter manage, ideally one that did pick up and delivery. When I went on The Laundry Spot's website I saw that they offered this service so figured I'd give them a try. I had a few questions so I called the number listed on the home page of the website, and the woman who answered referred me to another number for the pick up and delivery service which turned out is also listed if you click on the "delivery" link. I got an answering service and left my contact info and within minutes, James the owner called back and answered my questions and walked me through the process of setting up an account so that I could do the online scheduling myself. There were 3 convenient windows of times to select from for both pick up and delivery so I scheduled pick up between 8am-11am on Tuesday and delivery during that same timeframe the next day. I got a text a minute or so prior to them arriving both times and they were both within the scheduled timeframes. Since the home was unoccupied those days, I was able to text them the temporary door code I set up remotely and allow them to pick up and drop off inside in the entry way. The laundry consisted of two full sets of bedding, several towels dish towels, etc. All came back perfectly clean and nicely folded. Online I was able to select the type of soap (or even provide my own if desired), optional softeners, and add any specific instructions such as cold water, gentle cycle etc. I am so thrilled to have found this service! Since I'm a big fan of USEFUL technology, I'm very happy that I can do all of the scheduling from my smart phone, including paying the invoice. I was initially apprehensive about providing my credit card info and wanted to be sure the info was encrypted and secure. The owner, James, patiently explained to me that he's partnered with a few different technology platforms in order to make it possible to do all of this online, so it's all very secure and tested. One thing to note: because of the way the various platforms are linked, you see different URLs when you schedule versus looking at your account versus payment, but after it's set up it's a piece of cake. And best of all, the laundry comes back beautifully clean and nicely folded without me having to do a thing (I have back problems) so this is a wonderful solution for me. And the pricing is incredibly reasonable. I highly recommend trying this laundry service and supporting a great local Austin business!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS--INCOMPETENT, DISHONEST, AND DESTROYED A PRICELESS ITEM…read more I am utterly appalled by the negligence and unprofessionalism displayed by Garnett Lewis Cleaners on Far West Boulevard. This business ruined a rare, irreplaceable pair of vintage Alexander McQueen silk python pants--a one-of-a-kind piece of art--due to their blatant carelessness. The front desk employee, Rebecca, failed to check the care tags or inform me they do not handle real leather, despite this being a basic expectation for any dry cleaner, let alone one claiming to service "high-end" garments. When confronted, Rebecca's response was nothing short of insulting. Instead of taking accountability, she lied about being the owner (a pathetic attempt to dodge responsibility) and had the audacity to blame me for not "specifying" the material--as if a reputable cleaner shouldn't know how to identify or handle luxury fabrics. Their "compensation" offer? A laughable $500 and store credit. These pants are worth exponentially more(thousands), both monetarily and sentimentally. Store credit is a slap in the face when they've proven they can't be trusted with a dishrag, let alone designer clothing. To make matters worse, Rebecca's deceitful behavior continued over the phone. She deliberately misrepresented her role to shield higher-ups from her incompetence, further proving this business prioritizes covering up mistakes over honesty or customer care. DO NOT RISK YOUR VALUABLES HERE. This establishment lacks the expertise, integrity, and professionalism to handle delicate garments. They will destroy your belongings, gaslight you into feeling at fault, and offer pennies in return. Rebecca's misconduct and the company's refusal to fairly reimburse a literal work of art speak volumes about their ethics. Spread the word: Save your treasures--and your sanity--from Garnett Lewis Cleaners. An absolute disgrace to the dry cleaning industry. I will be filing an official complaint with BBB.

I finally decided to give Reid's a try, and was incented by the fact that they pickup and drop off for no extra charge AND that they offer the first month for 50% off (offer on their website). I'm so glad I did! I piled up all my clothes and winter coats at 50% off (hey I like a deal) to get caught up on all my dirty work laundry - and will keep on even once I'm back to full price. Their rates are a little high but I prefer quality at this point in my life. Even at full price, my blouses and pants will be $7-8 and specialty wool coats and fancy dresses about double tbbut I can live with that. My heavy winter coats came back looking almost brand new, despite the fact that they had been covered will pet fur and wool fuzz balls. I have the # of the delivery guy and can simply text him for pickup or questions (they have my card on file). I see there are not many current reviews and think this place is worth a second look. I'm relieved to have found a dependable cleaner. Update: months later I'm still using them and love their drop off/pick up service and quality cleaning.

Additionally, multiple pairs of pants were not pressed with a crease down the center as specifically requested at drop-off. An ornate button was also broken during the cleaning of a jacket. When we raised these concerns, Gunner, the district manager, declined responsibility for any of the damage, stating that such incidents are common during the cleaning process. This has not been our prior experience with Jack Brown Cleaners or other cleaning service providers. Gunner attributed the punctured holes in the sweaters to "moth damage." However, we have not encountered moths in our home in over 24 years of residence, and we maintain a regular contract with Terminix for pest control. Furthermore, a blouse made of an entirely different material was similarly damaged, and a staff member from Jack Brown indicated this did not appear to be moth damage. Several sweaters reportedly suffered "moth damage," yet others did not, which calls into question the explanation provided. To date, no other cleaner has suggested moths as the source of damage, and we have found no evidence of moths in our home. We asked Gunner for his last name and the name of the president of Jack Brown Cleaners; both requests were declined, and we were directed to look up this information up on our own on the internet. We subsequently identified Paul A. Brown (President) and Stevie Brown (Owner-Manager) as the top executives. While Jack Brown Cleaners had no issues accepting payment upon receiving our clothing, they did not inform us at any point about snags, puncture holes, or a broken button discovered after cleaning. On select items they could not clean further, labels were added explaining additional cleaning would risk further damage - a transparent and reasonable practice. However, It's very concerning that we discovered the damage ourselves after their cleaning, without any communication from Jack Brown staff or management. We are left to wonder if the expectation were that such damage would go unnoticed for some time. The assertion that invisible holes expanded during cleaning is implausible and appears to be blatantly dishonest. Having been a loyal customers of Jack Brown Cleaners for over 20 years, we found the manner in which our concerns were addressed to be unsatisfactory and unprofessional. Our selection of Jack Brown was based on previous positive experiences, making this situation particularly disappointing. We intend to contact Paul A. Brown and Stevie Brown to address these concerns, confident that they would not wish their brand's reputation to be affected by unresolved customer issues. Throughout our interaction, we did not feel our concerns were treated with empathy or understanding. It is also worth noting that Jack Brown Cleaners (Mesa) currently holds a 1.8 Yelp rating. Regrettably, we did not review similar customer complaints prior to utilizing their services. We will pursue this matter further until a reasonable resolution is achieved, as we believe it is unacceptable for any business to return damaged clothing without taking responsibility.

He said he wanted to personally make sure my skirt's stains were removed. I did not hear back from him so I assumed everything was fine, but when I went to pick up my skirt a fourth time it had an additional two black dot stains for a total of three. When I showed the lady at the store she said, "I see fresh spots." I left the skirt there, per her request. I texted the owner; he called and said that his business did not cause any stains., but he wanted to make things right. His solution was to give me a store credit. I let him talk in full about his dry cleaning process and his explanations. I was quiet the whole time. When I spoke, he interrupted me and would not let me speak. He asked me if he could speak. I told him that I let him speak in full, completely uninterrupted, and when I wanted to speak he was the one who interrupted me. At that point he finally let me speak, and I reminded him that my skirt originally had no stains, and after 4 cleanings it has three. He said he took my skirt out in the light and couldn't see them, and the lady at the store could barely see them (even though she told me she could see them). The first time I went to pick up my skirt I wasn't even looking for stains, as it did not have any when I dropped it off. It was very easy to see the stains, whoever, when I went to pick it up - time 1, time 2, time 3, and time 4. I now have a store credit.
