I brought a brand new never worn $300 dress to be laundered. I picked it up and left it in the packaging for a few days until i was ready to wear it. Pulled it out of the plastic and it smelled to high heaven like MILDEW! I immediately took it back and got attitude from the cashier about my unhappiness which i expressed in a calm manner. Today, the day before Thanksgiving I am here to pick it up and it is 3 hours before close and an employee is standing at the door and will not let me in. If you don't want your garment back on time or care about keeping the integrity of your new garment then by all means use Zips. I however will not return or ever recommend them to anyone. I been going to this ZIPS for over 3 years and never had any issues. Was simple - drop off, pay, pick up. There would be occasional delay because the heat etc. where the real issues have occured for me for past week since May 17; where the following has happened: 1. 72 hour delay on drop off 2. Items are missing- missing suit jacket and pants. 3. I had to pick up items from the South Lamar location because conveyor belt was out. 4. Was told to come back and to this point there is an outstanding item. 5. I called on 5/23 and spoke for one minute to be put on hold by Imam/ Iman the new General Manager. I was waiting over 30 mins until a new staff member picked the phone up and didn't even realize that I was placed on hold. I have the screenshots to prove it. Ever since this new management has been put into place; the whole process and experience as a customer has been disorganized. I stopped into my usual dry cleaner and immediately noticed my regular staff wasn't there. A young man greeted me with, "You can sit your clothes on the counter, they ain't going nowhere," which caught me off guard. Trying to be friendly, I asked how his day was, and he replied, "Don't even ask, but I appreciate the sentiment," then explained he was the owner and his employees didn't show up on a busy payday Friday. I mentioned a shirt I had washed that picked up napkin residue, and before even checking me in, he grabbed a lint brush and tried to fix it on the spot. It was nice of him to help, but by the time he finished and checked me in, three people were lined up behind me waiting. Overall, the service was unusual but the owner was clearly doing his best under stressful circumstances. read more

I needed pants altered for a wedding a week out. Rush order, but they assured me they would be done on schedule the day before the wedding. Few days before pickup, I called to check on 'em and confirm they'd be ready. "100% absolutely, they'll be ready." I called again the morning of pickup to see if they were ready, and they told me they'd be ready at 5pm. They were in fact not ready. Thankfully they hadn't even started so at least they were in one piece still. ZERO CARE FOR DAMAGED ITEMS - DO NOT USE ZIPS TLDR: I have been a customer since 2016 and will never use them again as they damage items and make the customer run around while they come up with excuse after excuse. Read the many poor reviews on Google and Yelp for further evidence. Dropped off a handmade moroccan textile (5X3) to the Austin South/William Cannon location on Apr 28 with ticket that said the item would be ready for pickup on May 2. When I arrived, they said the item was "sent out" for cleaning and they needed more time (no ETA) but said to come back in a week. When I came back the week later, same story (no ETA). When I came back a 3rd time, I spoke with manager (Lori) who said they "couldn't find" the item and they were going to look for it. Came back a few days later and again spoke with Lori. She tried to deny knowledge of the situation and I pressed for resolution. She had me fill out a claim form (which was lost) and came back again only to be told they still didn't have the item. This went on for months until I came back and was told I needed to fill out another claim form. Still no answer by mid June and Lori escalated to Eman, S. Lamar store manager. At one point, I was told they had the item at S. Lamar but when I went there to meet Eman there was no item. He again had me fill out a claim form (I took a picture for evidence). On July 11, I called the store and Eman told me they found the item but it bled during cleaning. He said they would try to fix and he would call me. He never called and I picked up the item yesterday. It was totally damaged and unusable - a handmade, one of a kind textile I bought for $520 in Morocco. Eman wasn't at the store and when I spoke with him July 22 to request reimbursement, he informed me their liability was $200 (not listed anywhere on their tickets). This is the most unprofessional business I have ever dealt with. They have ZERO regard for your property, time or money. BEWARE! read more

I needed a dress that had gotten rained on (it's a weird fabric so it shows ANY water mark) cleaned and pressed before this weekend. I got on to Google and, after reading reviews, decided to go with this Zips location. While not every experience with dry cleaners goes smoothly, I had zero issues with the time frame or getting my dress back and it looks great! I havent needed dry cleaning services for a while now, but will definitely continue to use them when the need arises. read more

I forgot to pick my suit up after more than 30 days in their hands. I never once received a call or a text from them reminding me to pick it up. They simply lost it or gave it away, as a result I no longer own my wedding suit. When contacted they said they would look into it but I never heard back from them, despite me calling numerous times. I used to love this location and the lady at the front desk was so nice. Now the person who works there doesn't pay attention on their job, she charged me $50 for 3 pieces of clothes (ticket said 8 clothes) and when I told her it was wrong she said she couldn't fix it, I came to the store 3 times to figure this out and ended up having to let go because my time is more important. Unfortunately you guys are losing not just one client, I work for 4 families and used to bring all of their clothes to this location because I liked it and will no longer do it. read more

Just dropped off my Zips dry cleaning order, and was told by the ladies at the Wm Cannon store that the 50% did not apply to me, since it is only good for people who haven't been in within 6 months. This seems like a deceptive bait and switch advertisement, if not just false advertising, if that is the case. As the text i got says nothing about such a qualifier. I've tried to use other offers at Zips and been rejected with no alternative credits offered. I have brought costumes from our small school theater twice before. Until today I have not encountered rudeness, obstinacy OR any policy stating they will not dry clean anything with sequins or beads. I do understand this as an issue for heirloom items. These are simply costumes and many did NOT have either sequins or beads. I asked the lady at the front about a piece that had neither and she said she wasn't going to go against "the ladies" in the dry clean facility. Who apparently set the store policy I guess. I asked about a dress I had dry cleaned 3 months before at the same location and she said "I've never seen that." I replied it was cleaned here 3 months ago. It has some pearl trim on it but no sequins or beads. She said she wouldn't take it. I also said I had a huge bunch of costumes cleaned here back in April and she basically called me a liar and told me "I've been working here for two years and not seen that." ‍ First time I've encountered her. Other two times nobody said anything about "sequins and beads". Frustrating experience to say the least. Save your money and just find a Jack Brown I guess. read more

Have come here 3 times, 2 out of the 3 times they were late with my clothes. They advertise that if you drop off your clothes before 9am you get them back same day. The first time they did it. They gave me credits for the articles of clothing that I dropped off. So I was chill about it, the 2nd time, I dropped it off before 9am I got them back same day. This last time I dropped them off before 9 am I didn't get them back until the next day. I won't be going back since they are unable to hold up to what they advertise. The press on the shirts were great. I work at a restaurant so food gets on my shirts frequently. they have missed spots on my shirts. Now because they are work shirts I don't really care. What I care about is getting my shirts back on time. Especially when I miss out on sleep to get them there. read more

I bring in jeans and polo's. I have the jeans pressed, creased and a medium starch added. When I get them back the crease is very sad probably because there is so little starch. You have to pay extra for a heavy starch. It will probably be what a medium starching should be. When I bring in my Polos I have already washed and starch them because they won't starch them. But get this. They still charge me full price even though their not washing or drying them. They do 1/3 of the work for full price. Really shady read more
