I'm extremely disappointed in this location and the staff. I brought a piece in for dry cleaning after wearing the item one time, and pointed out a small stain that I was hoping to have treated. Since it was dry clean only, i did not pretreat it. When i brought it in, the gentlemen behind the counter told me that next time I should pre treat it myself, since it's a white skirt. So after only the second time wearing this piece, i pre treated it and brought it in for dry cleaning. As soon as I mentioned that to the female employee, she told me that I should've have done that and it probably wasn't going to come out because I treated it. I told her that I followed the exact advice from an employee on this exact piece. She told me he's no longer working here and basically just shrugged her shoulders. My piece is now ruined and unwearable after only two wears because this idiot employee told me to pretreat my item. These people shouldn't give advice on treating articles of clothing if they don't know what they're talking about. I've given this location my business but after this I will go elsewhere. Went to pick up my shirt and instead of charging me for laundry for a oxford shirt, they charged me $10 for a blouse. This is obviously just trying to charge women more money for the same service they provide to men. The shirt took no extra effort but I am charged higher because I am woman. Shame on you Reids! read more

Reid's Cleaners & Laundry has done a great job on my dress shirts since I moved to Austin a while back. They've always been very dependable and timely and the price is very. Island pay $3.75 to have a dress shirt cleaned. Of course it comes with a plastic wrapper and the wire clothes hanger. I also love the staff and the location. I can swing in when I'm getting groceries or stopping by the bank since everything is so close and the location is perfect. It's also by lifetime fitness so after I get a workout dress shirts. I'm sure they do a fine job cleaning but I don't think any casual short cotton dress is worth $22 to clean. I took in 10 pieces, nothing fancy or expensive material, and the bill was $180 !!! My fault for not asking the cost at drop off but just wanted to warn others to ask first ;) read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS BUSINESS! I went to Reid's Dry Cleaning to have a 100% silk top cleaned. When I picked up the item, every single button had been broken and chipped! I immediately went back to the store and was there for an hour talking to the clerk and the store a manager on the phone. I asked to be reimbursed the cost of the damaged item. After several phone calls, I was able to talk to the owner Doyle Reid today. I asked him to reimburse me the cost of the item. He told me that I was being "unreasonable" and that the buttons on my item were "cheap" and that what happened was not the fault of his business. He then proceeded to SCREAM at me over the phone, said that he would not "buy me a new blouse" and ended the call by screaming "CALL YOUR LAWYER LADY" when I urged him to stay calm. After enduring his adolescent tantrum through the phone, I hung up. I don't know that I have ever been screamed at by a 65 year old child, but there's always a first for everything I guess. I've used Reid's in other locations and hadn't had an issue, but maybe I just had gotten lucky before. Long story short, I had a flight Saturday and was promised I'd get my coat back by Thursday. I instead got a call on Thursday saying it'd now be Friday, and then on Friday got a call saying they'd left it at their plant and if I wanted it that day then I'd have to travel an hour round trip during rush hour to pick it up in time for my flight. To their credit they did then do the cleaning for free and the coat did look good, but just a warning not to trust them on their timelines. Also the employee at this location couldn't seem to care less about it being delayed not once but twice and seemed completely shocked that I might want some sort of discount for having to drive an hour in rush hour to pick up their mistake. The person at their main plant seemed far more caring and actually fixed the issue. read more

I have tried a lot of dry cleaners in Austin and here is what I know.... you get what you pay for. Reid's is by no means the cheapest in town, nor are they the most expensive... but they do same day service if you drop your items off before 9AM and they follow directions well. My clothes are always well cleaned. They could be more competitive (run specials and offer coupons more often). They could specifically ask about creases (where if you want them...). As long as I give instructions on creases, my better clothing items are ready on time as desired and done well. I have had a few issues here with creases - but they fix them and usually will do something to make good on the mistake if you ask. They also have a frequent cleaning program, which gives you $5 off once you have spent so much money (not sure how much). read more

I pretty much deserve what happened when Suzie picked up my laundry. For whatever, ridiculous reason, I keep coming back and I keep getting the exact same result. They actually upped their game in being completely worthless. Suzie Q went to pick up our dry cleaning/laundry to be welcomed with.. I'm sorry, but something happened to these two shirts. The buttons were actually melted on the shirts. Not only that, I had just purchased these shirts at a great sale from Macy's and had worn them twice. TWICE! They wouldn't give us the shirts back, but did give us a claim form and apologies. I am extremely fortunate that I had asked for an email receipt from Macy's since I would of needed that in order to be able to claim full price replacement since they were purchased within 90 days of being destroyed by Reids. I luckily didn't clear out my email trash folder either. If I didn't have the receipt, like who actually keeps those things for 90 days, I would of been shit out of luck. I was truly surprised to get the refund check today. But guess what, I cannot replace the two shirts with the check, since I originally purchased them on sale. So the moral of the story, bring in two shirts and get one back. I think we have been going to this Reids for a decade now and as I have mentioned in my previous "Glowing" review, they have reached the ultimate suckness of cleaning services. Why oh why didn't I learn from my previous, stains, broken buttons, sleeves ripped off of shirt (No refund for that damage, apparently they had some valid reason why that was my fault). I think a Namibian War Princess smashing my shirts on a river bed boulder would provide better service and results then these igiots. I feel sorry for the nice ladies who work the counter, since they probably apologize every day for this stores incompetency. read more

I always drop off my suits and dress pants at Reid's. Never have I never had an issue with their services, and my clothes always comes back clean, and neatly pressed. And let's hope that I didn't just "jinx" myself. Ha. Their staff is friendly (on the younger side), helpful, and quick. I've never had to wait long periods of time while dropping off or picking up garments. They've never "lost" any of my items, and nothing has ever been damaged. Also, items are always cleaned on time or earlier than expected. When I'm not in a rush, my suits are ready for pick up the following day's afternoon. But just in case, they offer same day service. So I'll continue to go here until they mess up. read more

I needed my suit dry cleaned and ready Monday morning and I was dropping off ok a Friday. 5 other cleaners said they could not do it but Reid's could have it ready next day!! They did a great job and helped me with my time crunch. The lady at the front desk was very kind and moved with a purpose so I did not wait long. Awful service. This morning marks the 2nd catastrophe I have had with this company and the last time I will ever use them, regardless of the convenience of their location. Last year, I was charged twice for a $100 dry cleaning bill. Caught it the next day and called them; however, the manager at the store was "unable" to reverse the charge and passed the buck to their centralized accounting dept. where it took almost 2 weeks to receive a refund for the extra $100 charged on my debit card. This morning, I realized a shirt was missing from what we had dropped off last week. My wife called the store and was passed off to the plant by the manager. The shirt was found but their explanation was disturbing. "The tag fell off in transport so, had you not called, we never would have known where this shirt belonged." The number of garments coming back from the plant and the number picked up did not match what was dropped off. This was never caught, Additionally, I was charged for the shirt because they count them at drop off. To add insult to injury, my initials are on the shirt in two different places. I understand that it is inevitable that garments are going to be lost and mistakes are going to be made by employees in any business like this. What is not okay is the complete lack of ownership taken by this company's employees when a mistake has been made. Unfortunately, this is a service-based business on which the definition of service is completely lost. read more

This has to be the worst company I've ever used. I dropped off 8 pieces to be cleaned. I go to pick them up and am told my total is almost $75. There were no special treatments that needed to be done. I expected pristine results with that cost, but not even close. Every garment came back RUINED!!! The girls working expected me to still pay for the cleaning, which I will not. I asked for the managers number, to which I was given a number for Adam who refuses to return my calls. I have called everyday since I picked up my items and still no call back. I will be reporting to the better business bureau. read more
