I called their customer service number twice yesterday and once today and nobody has called me back, HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE if I had a different choice while I'm in Austin I would definitely use that and not this company.

Although I usually try to overlook it due to infrequent interactions, the most recent experiences have compelled me to stop using any Ricks Cleaners in the Austin area. For instance, my husband had his tuxedo shirt dry cleaned for our WEDDING, and when he received it back, it was covered in stains on the back that Ricks attempted to conceal. Additionally, they often quote incorrect prices over the phone and require you to drive to the shop, only to find the price is three times higher than what was initially stated. If the staff were pleasant and accommodating, I might be more forgiving, but I've reached my limit at this point. I strongly recommend you avoid any Ricks Cleaners.

As soon as I mentioned that to the female employee, she told me that I should've have done that and it probably wasn't going to come out because I treated it. I told her that I followed the exact advice from an employee on this exact piece. She told me he's no longer working here and basically just shrugged her shoulders. My piece is now ruined and unwearable after only two wears because this idiot employee told me to pretreat my item. These people shouldn't give advice on treating articles of clothing if they don't know what they're talking about. I've given this location my business but after this I will go elsewhere. Brand new skirt down the drain because of incompetent employees.

The woman who was working told me a receipt would be sent via text message shortly, so I left. Later that day, I realized I had never received a text. I checked my credit card statement and saw I had a pending charge from Rick's for $183.96. I immediately went to their website to see if they listed their prices (they do). I dropped off two clothing items (2 x 5.99) and four pillow covers (4 x 8.39) for a grand total of $45.54 + tax. I then called the store since this is obviously a huge discrepancy. Someone answered the phone and said I had reach a different store because the store I was trying to call did not have a working telephone. She told me I would have to go into the store and speak to someone. So I drive over to the store and speak to whoever is working (different employee that I had seen earlier that day). I began to explain what was going on and she immediately became defensive. She told me that the manager was gone and she couldn't help me. At this point I am pretty frustrated because this is becoming much more difficult than I needed to be. I told her to give me all of my items back and to cancel the transaction. She gave me the pillow covers back but then said she didn't know where the clothing items were and wasn't going to go looking for them. I said that was unacceptable. Then she calls someone with her personal cell. The woman she was speaking to (I believe her name was Anna(?) and I am assuming she is a manager and is the person I had interacted with earlier that day) was also very defensive from the start. After some back and forth, she handed me the cell phone to talk to her myself. She told me that she entered the pillow covers as couch cushions which are significantly more expensive. I find it hard to believe that she would have mistaken some standard sized pillow covers (20x20") for couch cushions - that's a huge difference in size. She was incredibly rude and defensive on the phone and completely unapologetic. I mentioned how I did not receive a text receipt to which she basically accused me of lying because she insisted that she sent it. I told her I never received it - so either she didn't send it or there was some sort of technical glitch. She also had the audacity to tell me that I "should've come back to the store before 3:15pm" - when she was leaving for the day. As if I am supposed to know her work schedule??? In this situation I would have expected her to apologize for the mistake and inconvenience and fix the issue. Instead she stated: "I'll change the price to the pillow covers, but you're going to pay an extra $8.00 each for pet hair". Really? These are *slubby* linen pillow covers - barely any pet hair. At this point I was really upset and told her to give me everything back. She told me that they won't be giving me the clothing items back since it was too much work to look for them. I made it clear that I wanted them to return the two clothing items and refund the whole order. I told her that if she wasn't going to return the clothing items that she still needed to refund the order since I was requesting them to give them back but she was too lazy to locate them. After more back and forth between the employee that was there and the one on the phone (Anna?), they finally agreed to refund the order and still send off the clothing items for cleaning. I cannot believe how rude the manager was through this whole process. I am not upset about the pricing - nor would I have been upset about a small/reasonable uncharge for the slubby fabric, but the attitude of the manager was unacceptable. It honestly seems like she was trying to up charge me in hopes that I wouldn't notice. I wonder how many times this happens? Pretty seedy behavior from "The Best of Austin."

The thoughtfulness and consideration Ian's provides can't be beat. I also appreciate that they have an app so you can easily plan your pick-ups and drop-offs. INCREDIBLY DISAPPOINTED. Had a lot of good experiences here. But after TRASHING my suit by getting it wet (only thing I can think of now that its crunchy and shrunken) I've bought 1 nice suit in my life, a $600 suit for my Brothers wedding last year (thats a LOT of money to me!!!) It was going to be my 'special occasion' suit worn only to weddings, job interviews, etc. I had it cleaned after my brothers wedding last July. I was excited to take it out of the suit packaging just as they had left it last week to put it on for a job interview....I soon realized it was better fit for an 10 year old. Shrunk beyond belief and stiff as a board. The inner pockets, usually silky material, felt more like a wadded up $5 bill. I took it in to them, still with the safety pinned tag they put on it and explained the situation. They said sorry, been too long. I realize there are extremely horrible people out there that are willing to do anything for free buck, but I could not be further from that. I WORKED MY BUTT OFF to be able to afford that suit and thought it was in good hands. DISAPPOINTED THAT THE OWNER ISN'T WILLING TO MAKE THINGS RIGHT FOR A REGULAR CUSTOMER. read more

He is in high demand, and while most of my tailoring jobs with Rivera Tailor have been done in days, don't expect an in-depth alteration (gown, for example) to be done overnight. Be sure to bring your stuff to him as soon as you know you need it! I delayed once on a maid-of-honor dress and he was not able to do it in my 3-week timeline - I think most tailors would have required close to 6-8 weeks for an in-depth tailoring job like a gown requires - so I was sorely disappointed when I got my maid of honor dress back from somewhere else because it was too tight. Some idiots on here are complaining about a quoted price because "In NYC..." - blah-blah-blah. If you're a cheapskate, just say that; don't take it out on this business.
