I really wanted to like Reid's Dry Cleaners because the staff was genuinely friendly, but unfortunately my experience was frustrating. I dropped off 7 of my husband's shirts to be laundered with no starch, which is a pretty standard request I've had done at multiple cleaners without any issues. When I came back to pick them up, I was shocked to be charged $70. When I questioned it, I was told they had gone ahead and dry cleaned the shirts instead because they "didn't fit on their machine," charging $10 per shirt. This wasn't what I asked for, and I wasn't contacted beforehand to approve the change or the higher cost. If a service can't be completed as requested, I would expect a call before moving forward with something more expensive. While the staff was kind, the lack of communication and unexpected pricing means I won't be returning. read more

They overcharged me and would not provide a credit. The dry cleaning business is really very simple. I ordered my shirts folded. They came back on a hanger. I asked for a quote on the cost of my order . When it came time to pay they demanded 35% more....I would not recommend doing business with Reid Cleaners & Laundry (at least the Brodie location) - I can not speak to the other locations....Equally frustrating I was promised a call from the owner / manager - but have not heard a word from them....very very poor customer service. read more

They can get it ready fast if you need it -and they remember your name, they ask about your family. Impressed my shirt within 15 minutes and didn't charge me a DIME. They just told me to come back soon, I will be bringing my whole closet. This was my first experience with any sort of dry cleaning business. So I had accidentally left a piece of chocolate in my pants pocket and sent that through the washer and dryer; lo and behold there's just a mess of chocolate inside my pants pocket. I brought it to Reid's after calling ahead where they said they could give it a shot at removing it along with a dress and a nice pair of shorts for regular dry cleaning. I brought it in on a Friday and they quoted a pickup time for Tuesday after 5pm. I picked it up the following Friday, and the chocolate was all gone - you wouldn't have even guessed there was chocolate to begin with. That pair of pants along with the dress and shorts were all returned in excellent condition. The three items came out to a total of $50. Excellent service and the employees were super nice. Brand new pair of pants, they faded it to a point they are unrecognizable and blamed it to the washing instructions. Instead of offering an apology they demand that I pay for it and will not release the clothing. Male assistant was very aggressive and pushed me. Over the last two decades I've specifically had most of my interaction with Selene and Adela (I asked for their names today). I honestly don't know how they can year in and year out come across with such a terrific/positive attitude. In my view they are the face of your brand. I wouldn't pretend to tell you how to run your business. You've obviously got that down. But respectfully, what I will do is encourage you to do whatever it takes to keep them as a valued added asset. Again, I haven't a clue how they're treated...that's none of my business. Same as other reviews, was told $26 when i dropped two jackets. Picked them up and was asked to pay$60... apparently $30 for each jacket. We brought in 3 jeans for hemming. We were quoted a price of $30, which sounded cheap, so we got clarification that this was for all 3 not just 1. 2 weeks after promised avail date, we finally got a text to pickup. Went to the location and were told they weren't there but would be next day. went next day and weee told 'truck hadnt arrived yet, so still not avail. Called today to confirm they were done, and were told the cost was now $90. After going back and forth explaining the above, we were told that our claims were ridiculous and we misheard. No apology for being late, or for wasted trips, or offer to work with us on the price. They can keep the jeans. Needless to say we will never be going back and would urge others to avoid as well. read more

Very unfortunate experience at Reid's cleaners. I sent in three dresses, paid over $100 for them to not even be cleaned. Dresses smelled like sweat when I got them back. When I called to tell them they said bring them back in to be redone, but they retracted that about an hour after I dropped them off over the phone. Overpriced for bad quality clean. read more

I had a wonderful experience dropping off my coat. Jacob was very professional and kind, and he went above and beyond to accommodate my needs - the fur on the hood of my coat could not go in the dry cleaner, so he told me that they could unstitch it and then stitch it back up after the coat was washed. I asked how much all of this would cost, and I was told $32. Unfortunately, when I went in to pick up my coat, I was charged $50. I am not sure why there was a $18 discrepancy between the price I was told at drop-off and the price I was charged at pick-up. It is not professional at all and just disrespectful to do this. On top of the mysterious price increase, my coat still had some stains on it. I pointed that out to the young lady handing me back the coat, and her answer was: "Oh yes but we put it to dry clean". I'm sorry, but for the price of $50, there should at least be an inspection after the cleaning to ensure that all spots are gone. Overall I was very disappointed because when I expect to pay $32 and I am charged $50 and on top of that the coat is not properly cleaned, well it just feels like I got fooled. I would have given a one star rating for all of this, but since I had an amazing welcome and customer service at drop-off, I will give 2 stars. read more

They lost 2 pairs of my slacks are claiming that they didn't receive them ... then we actually used the hotel as a third party and we had actual Camera footage of my wife giving them my 2 pair of slacks.. so they were lying about it from the beginning... so what most likely happened is that they either washed or dry cleaned multiple people clothes altogether and lost my slacks.. from my understanding it's happening a lot or it has happened multiple times... so beware so coming here ... oh and every time I call they say you need to talk to a manager and the manager is never there ... so I'm honestly giving up on getting my slacks back I'm just writing this review to warn everybody else so they don't have to go through this . read more

I have been a Reid's cleaners customer for 25 years. Reid's has a new policy with the goal of NOT REIMBURSING YOU FOR DAMAGED DRY CLEANING. They have removed access for individual stores to provide you with damaged dry cleaning forms. My shirt has a burn mark on the collar and their solution is for me to go back the manufacturer and request a new shirt since they see this as a manufacturing defect. This is one of the most community businesses I use. They have great service, great people and they know me by name. The front staff is awesome, the clothes are cleaned and Mike Reid is a real gentlman. I had a shirt damaged that the cleaners informed me about and was put in touch with Mike. We worked it out quickly, he was super fair and now I'm a customer for life, at least while I'm in Texas. By far, not the cheapest, but the best! I will always pay extra for good service. read more

I went to Reid's cleaners north Lamar to drop off some dry cleaning. They have no pricing and told me they just charge the by the item. When I came back to pick it up I was charged 200.00 for 10 items. They ruined my skirt in the cleaning process. When I told them about it they admitted that it did happen when they dry cleaned it but still wanted to charge me 13.00 to resew the skirt to the waste band. read more

I'm going to update my review because there's been some improvements since my last review. For one thing - - I hadn't been here in 3 weeks and I come back and they all remember my name when I walk in - - WTF? I don't know how they do it, but everytime you walk into this Reid's the first person who sees you always greets you by your first name, and they always get it right. How the hell do you remember my name (I asked), they just laughed. But - that's not why we go there - the attention is nice but how is the dry cleaning? It's really good - never a problem, always do a great job. Why only 4 stars? I pay close to $13 to dry clean 2 pairs of slacks - - that's kinda pricey if you ask me. I have found places that do it half the price, and I sometimes go there, but Reid's offers same day service (in by 10am and pick up by 3pm). You do get a $5 off coupon - - but only after every $70 you spend. If I can get that 5 bucks more frequently, I think this would be a 5 star place. Regardless, this location is my new go-to place, and it's all good in the Reid's Hood. read more

Recently switched to this dry cleaner when I moved. They do a great job with my laundry but are always friendly. I just stopped in (first since quarantine) and everyone was happy to see me (they don't even know me!) Its nice to have some normalcy back, even in running errands and their friendly response to my business was really refreshing. Not to mention they called me by my last name as I was leaving. Having your suits dry-cleaned and immaculately pressed so you never have to worry about how they look - About $8. Having your wool sweaters perfectly dry cleaned, so they never shrink and you don't have to donate them to the Mrs. or your 8-year old nephew - About $6. Having the friendly staff, greet you by name when you walk in the door and get you quickly in and out knowing you're well taken care of. - Priceless. Expensive, but worth it. If i'm just laundering shirts, i can find someplace cheaper. But for my suits or other expensive items, I only trust Reid's. read more
