Spot below waste band, yellow tag at top as proof it has been "cleaned"
    Katie L.

Sorry to say - i just picked up 4 pieces from Ricks. Spots all still there. I was careful to point out the spots and put stickers on them before handing over. These are not blood / ink. Just food and makeup residue. Disappointed. Waste of money. Will take them elsewhere

updated. If you value your clothes do NOT bring them here to be cleaned. I have two jackets that are now missing items that they once had. Even more disappointing when staff tells you that the jacket did not have a belt. The belt is part of the jacket! Sadly, this is not the first time that Rick's cleaners has returned an item that is not the same as when it was brought in. Thankfully, there are many other cleaners in Austin who still value returning clothing items the same way they come in.

I'm disappointed. We have been using them for the past few months or so but I brought my dress home to find it still had all 3 of its mustard stains still on it. These were not deep set stains and frankly, can be removed with a wet cloth, but I didn't realize it would even be possible for me to bring this home "clean" and still have these stains showing on the dress. Not a thorough job unfortunately and don't think I'll be back. On a positive note, customer service has always been great. They're super speedy in and out!

And even more holes burned into pants

AVOID AT ALL COSTS--INCOMPETENT, DISHONEST, AND DESTROYED A PRICELESS ITEM…read more I am utterly appalled by the negligence and unprofessionalism displayed by Garnett Lewis Cleaners on Far West Boulevard. This business ruined a rare, irreplaceable pair of vintage Alexander McQueen silk python pants--a one-of-a-kind piece of art--due to their blatant carelessness. The front desk employee, Rebecca, failed to check the care tags or inform me they do not handle real leather, despite this being a basic expectation for any dry cleaner, let alone one claiming to service "high-end" garments. When confronted, Rebecca's response was nothing short of insulting. Instead of taking accountability, she lied about being the owner (a pathetic attempt to dodge responsibility) and had the audacity to blame me for not "specifying" the material--as if a reputable cleaner shouldn't know how to identify or handle luxury fabrics. Their "compensation" offer? A laughable $500 and store credit. These pants are worth exponentially more(thousands), both monetarily and sentimentally. Store credit is a slap in the face when they've proven they can't be trusted with a dishrag, let alone designer clothing. To make matters worse, Rebecca's deceitful behavior continued over the phone. She deliberately misrepresented her role to shield higher-ups from her incompetence, further proving this business prioritizes covering up mistakes over honesty or customer care. DO NOT RISK YOUR VALUABLES HERE. This establishment lacks the expertise, integrity, and professionalism to handle delicate garments. They will destroy your belongings, gaslight you into feeling at fault, and offer pennies in return. Rebecca's misconduct and the company's refusal to fairly reimburse a literal work of art speak volumes about their ethics. Spread the word: Save your treasures--and your sanity--from Garnett Lewis Cleaners. An absolute disgrace to the dry cleaning industry. I will be filing an official complaint with BBB.

They estimated 6-8 weeks and assured me it would be ready on time. They never once called, texted, or emailed with an update. Every time I've followed up, I've been given vague excuses: "no updates available," "it's taking longer than expected," or some other stall tactic. Four months later--now the end of December--I still don't have my bag, and no one can give a clear explanation for the delay. Plant managers Kimberly and Nikki won't even take calls to provide a proper status update. This level of disorganization and lack of communication is unacceptable. I told the owner, Roi, that I was getting married in Canada and asked if they could pack my dress for travel. My dress came back bustled and ready to go. On a whim, I decided to undo the bustle and try on my dress one last time before flying out. When I opened my dress, I immediately started crying. It was ruined, and, even worse, somebody had tried to conceal the damage by bustling the dress and folding it up. The sleeves were burnt and crumpled (See pictures), and the dress itself was warped and puckered. The interior looked like it had been fried in bleach. My beautiful Italian silk dress had been ruined by ATX dry cleaning, and, rather than come clean with what had happened, somebody had tried to conceal the damage, so that I wouldn't realize what had happened to my dress until I got to my wedding. I told Roi that the dress looked like it had been damaged by chemicals, but he dismissed my concerns, saying dry cleaning is always done using chemicals. It was only after I went to two experts, my tailor and another dry cleaner, who both confirmed that the dress seemed ruined beyond repair, that he took me seriously. At this point, he admitted to outsourcing the dress, but said whomever he had outsourced it to did not even know who cleaned my dress because nobody had owned up to it. This other company (Roi never told me the name) spent the next couple of weeks attempting to restore my dress, and the entire time Roi kept saying that he felt as bad as I did that my wedding dress was ruined, and not to worry about the financials--he was going to make it right. They gave me my dress back the day before I left. The silk was partially restored, but the interior of my dress was still completely fried, and the dress's silhouette was permanently ruined. Since I had no other choice, I wore this dress for my wedding. When I returned, Roi changed his tune very quickly. He said that insurance would only cover $250 because I wore the dress for my wedding and they'd partially restored it. Worse still, he used things I'd said against me. Like, I told him nobody seemed to notice that the dress was ruined (because who would tell a bride that a dress they'd never seen before looked damaged?), and he later threw that comment in my face to suggest that I shouldn't be compensated properly for the damage. When I balked at his offer, he whined about how he couldn't do more financially and even badgered me for not appreciating how hard he'd worked to fix my dress. Again and again, he made it more about his hard work and his trouble than about my wedding dress and wedding, and he seemed incredulous that I expected to be compensated for what he'd done. I kept reminding him that any efforts to *fix* my dress would not have been necessary, had my dress not been ruined in the first place, but talking to Roi was like talking to a cranky infant. He made clear that he would not go out of pocket for the damage. It was such a nightmare. In the end, he gave me back not even a third of what I put into this dress, and he tried to get me to sign a document promising confidentiality. I refused, even knowing that I could lose the pittance he'd offered, because I never want any other bride to go through the nightmare Roi and his team put me through. Whatever you think you will save with ATX dry cleaning, it isn't worth it. Go to a real dry cleaner. A few months ago, the same girl charged that card instead of my debit card, which I wanted to use. I had to escalate to a manager, who followed up via text that she could not change my method of payment for the transaction. The same girl mentioned she charged the card on file again recently after I mentioned that I was sending more shirts back for not having the sleeves creased. BEWARE!! They Ruined My $330 Wool Shirt!…read more I only had one experience here, and it was enough to make sure I never come back. I brought in a No Nationality 100% Wool Overshirt ($330) that they completely ruined. It looks like they threw it into a washer and dryer, it came back misshapen, shrunk, and unwearable. I was understanding at first, hey accidents happen right? Nordstrom still carried the shirt in another color, so I replaced it myself and simply asked the cleaners to reimburse me for the damage. I've now called multiple times over four weeks, and every time I'm told "the manager will call you back." The call never comes. To make matters worse, on one call they forgot to put me on hold, and I overheard someone in the background say, "Ohhhh, it was wool." So they knew they ruined it, but still refuse to take care of it. If you value your clothes or your time, don't risk it here. Their lack of accountability and customer service is unacceptable.

When I went on The Laundry Spot's website I saw that they offered this service so figured I'd give them a try. I had a few questions so I called the number listed on the home page of the website, and the woman who answered referred me to another number for the pick up and delivery service which turned out is also listed if you click on the "delivery" link. I got an answering service and left my contact info and within minutes, James the owner called back and answered my questions and walked me through the process of setting up an account so that I could do the online scheduling myself. There were 3 convenient windows of times to select from for both pick up and delivery so I scheduled pick up between 8am-11am on Tuesday and delivery during that same timeframe the next day. I got a text a minute or so prior to them arriving both times and they were both within the scheduled timeframes. Since the home was unoccupied those days, I was able to text them the temporary door code I set up remotely and allow them to pick up and drop off inside in the entry way. The laundry consisted of two full sets of bedding, several towels dish towels, etc. All came back perfectly clean and nicely folded. Online I was able to select the type of soap (or even provide my own if desired), optional softeners, and add any specific instructions such as cold water, gentle cycle etc. I am so thrilled to have found this service! Since I'm a big fan of USEFUL technology, I'm very happy that I can do all of the scheduling from my smart phone, including paying the invoice. I was initially apprehensive about providing my credit card info and wanted to be sure the info was encrypted and secure. The owner, James, patiently explained to me that he's partnered with a few different technology platforms in order to make it possible to do all of this online, so it's all very secure and tested. One thing to note: because of the way the various platforms are linked, you see different URLs when you schedule versus looking at your account versus payment, but after it's set up it's a piece of cake. And best of all, the laundry comes back beautifully clean and nicely folded without me having to do a thing (I have back problems) so this is a wonderful solution for me. And the pricing is incredibly reasonable. I highly recommend trying this laundry service and supporting a great local Austin business!
