The food was fantastic. Lots of flavor and good serving sizes. Ambiance and service were 10/10. The only issue I had that is quite haunting is that when I went to use the restroom when we were done with dinner is I saw several roaches crawling on the wall in the restroom. One was literally looking right at me as I was using the urinal. I was very upset at this. I really want to recommend this place to others but... not after seeing roaches. read more

Refused to take my reservation for 3 to celebrate Father's Day even though they have reservations open every 15 minutes for parties of 4. And the last time I was there, we got kicked out of our table to accommodate a larger group. I can't see ever going there again. read more

Richardson's has long been one of our favorite restaurants in the Valley. Today we celebrated the Bizarre Guitar company Christmas lunch and we couldn't have asked for a more welcoming and delicious experience. Everyone loved their choices from the Queso to the hamburgers, enchiladas, Benedict, and Chimayo chicken. The flavors are off the charts. This is my spouse's favorite place to eat but unfortunately it has gone downhill a bit since 7 years ago, heck even 4 years ago. We invited two of our friends to join us, so they could enjoy this wonderful place. Typically when we come in our go to appetizer is their elephant garlic plate, well they no longer serve that. Heartbroken. I should have known it wasn't going to be a fantastic night after that. Lol Our server apparently had just gotten over training and was thrown to the lions. Not a single question asked could be answered, he didn't realize half the items we had ordered I guess no longer existed or he wasn't sure what we were asking for, he hadn't tried a single item on the menu. I mean come on what was he trained on?! Unfortunately he was very awkward, forgetful and just wasn't attentive. Food this time wasn't plated very well, it just wasn't top notch like it used to be. Flavor wise, it was still good, but wasn't fantastic. We actually felt bad for asking our friends to join us here. My friends and I went there to celebrate Father's Day after seeing many positive reviews. The place looks nice when you walk in, and we were seated on the patio. It was our first time, but honestly not very impressed. First of all, the light was so dim that I couldn't read the menu properly, I had to adjust my position to catch the light to read and place the order. The service was extremely slow, I understand it was Father's Day, but for the crowd the place had, it could have been better. It took 25 minutes for the server to greet us, and since we all were really hungry, we ordered right then. We got our drinks in 20 minutes, and 20 minutes later, we were asked to change some of our orders as they were out of stock. And after that, it took another 40 minutes to get our food. So it was extremely slow, the food was good, it tasted good, and the portion size was also good, but nothing exceptional for the price. For me, the best part is this place is pet-friendly; all the servers were very friendly to my dog and our server even offered him water. Giving an extra star for that because there are very few places in Phoenix where you can take your four-legged buddies! read more

Well known place with an authentic NM ambiance. We were invited to this place by some friends and made the reservation in advance and I am glad we did because place was packed and we were excited about the experience. It took a while for our food to arrive and hunger and anticipation grew but one third bite my spouse noticed a small piece of metal in his mouth that he spitted out and we called the server who involved the manager. So after that experience we were all very cautious and unsure with each bite and didn't really enjoy our meals. Manager came by and generously didn't charge us for the meal that we returned because of piece of metal and that was the end of that. I would have thought that they could have done something little better than that but we don't know their policies and procedures. read more

Had not eaten here for several years despite finding it delicious that visit. This time, not so much. Took some friends from out of town here to have a southwestern experience. Out of four people, two left their meal virtually untouched and the third ordered a hamburger. Sometimes you need to know your audience! My dish was my own fault. I should've known better than to order prime rib sandwich at a southwestern place. It was not divine to say the least. the other person that left their food untouched may have overestimated their ability to adapt to southwestern food, or it may have just been not good. So I can't really say definitively that the food has gone downhill, but I will say that the one person who gobbled up everything has been known to eat things that would decimate a mere mortal. read more

Such a unique place to visit. You have one owner and he owns these three restaurants all in one building. The center is an oasis outside with tables and a bar. On opposite.sides are two different restaurants. The menus are pretty similar and the food is pretty good,, as well as huge portions. The service is usually pretty good. I had the ribeye with potatoes and cheese enchiladas with egg on top. So filling and so good. The wife had the enchiladas with rice and beans. I can't wait to try this place out in cooler weather so we can eat outside. And I believe the happy hour for drinks starts at 7 am. And appetizers start at 3 pm. read more

While the food continues to be high quality, tasty and delicious. Service on a Sunday morning for brunch was just bad. The server herself was very nice but you can tell she had more than she could handle for a brunch morning. And this is not due to her being incapable but you can tell they were short staffed. We got the appetizer plates put in front of us, the first one had a small food remains, second one had many more stains. We asked them to remove it and wash it because it was still dirty. I opened my silverware and napkin tile, my knife had a big chunk of red pepper dried on it, gross. At that point I didn't even ask for a knife because I knew it will be a long time for me to get one. Espresso machine was down, took them 40 minutes to get us coffee. We waited a bit and the server came to let us know it's down, didn't provide any alternatives, she was super busy and all we got was that it's down and we're working on getting your espresso and cappuccino from downstairs. Food arrived exactly 1 hour and 20 minutes after we got seated. Orders were placed about 15 minutes after we got seated while we were waiting for our coffee. It was just sad to see how long things were taking, and our server didn't even have any help. I will definitely come back though, love this place and I hope things get better. read more

Richardson's Rocks!! That's really all there is to it. The food is New Mexican style, and I can honestly say I have never had a bad meal here. We tend to come more for brunch than dinner, but both are incredible. Some of my favorites are the Carne Adovada (smoky pork smothered in red chile sauce), Chicken Enchiladas (I suggest Christmas style, so both red and green chile sauces on top), and Vic's Meatloaf & Eggs. I particularly love coming for brunch and sitting at the bar. Eric is the lead bartender and he is seriously PHENOMENAL!!! Honestly, he is personable, has impeccable service and makes a mean cocktail. If there are openings at his bar, that is our 1st seating choice every time. Our last experience here wasn't great. Took forever to get service. Another server grabbed the drink order after i asked the hostess if we could be acknowledged. My husband went to talk to him to change one of the drinks as he was ringing them in and he looked at him like he was annoyed (most likely annoyed he had to help his peer which speaks on the morale of the staff). The server was very friendly, I will give her kudos for that. Just felt like she was way too slammed to take full care of us. Forgot a drink or two when we needed refills. My fries were not good and my husband's were worse. I'm 99% sure that they were cooked in old oil. The burger meat over cooked. It's just disappointing to get this food quality from a place that isn't necessarily cheap. Overall I got the impression that's management isn't very strong. Someone should've been there to notice the lack of quality leaving the kitchen and the atmosphere in the dining room. There's way too many other places to spend our money. read more

But once you find it you wonder....how did we ever missed this? It's one of those understated cool ambiance. The portions are huge, the Service even more. We went during Happy hour. This place gives romantic vibes, there's greenery all around you, when It starts getting dark they light candles, it has an outdoor seating area(that is pet friendly)! We received the menus and a tall glass of chilled water, I love when they do this so you don't have to constantly be asking or waiting for a water refill. I ordered the enchiladas with turkey and chicken, I would definitely recommend the chicken ! The rice was very hard but the beans were good. Wow! I don't know what happened to this place, but my husband and I were so disappointed after our meal there! We took some family friends here who had come in from out of town, and we raved about Richardsons, and how good it is! However, my husband's enchiladas were basically filled with sauce and very little meat! I had the steak with crab meat on top and hollandaise sauce. It just didn't seem to go well together I think the hollandaise sauce drowned out the taste of the crab. The steak was good. The spinach dip was made! I was really disappointed. I've worked restaurant industry so save the excuses of giving people breaks. They have enough staff to supply the Super Bowl.) She then tells me that due to a larger party walking in before us, we now have to be sat outside. I then stated that we specifically called to ensure my grandma was able to be sat inside, and she replies with "well she didn't write that, so I don't know what to tell you, it's not my fault" . K, awesome, not mine either, but let's make a solution rather than a larger problem? I'm not here to argue, I'm here to pay some decent money for a decent breakfast. Hostess solution; I can put you next door at the other restaurant We then go to order our breakfast and they let us know "sorry, we only serve that on the other side" Our server made it happen - and myself as well as 2 others received our breakfast, cold. Our server was then so kind enough to remove these off of our bill. I can't thank her enough for being so understanding and so honest. She understood the problem, never argued and provided nothing short of excellent service. The bathrooms do not have a** gaskets, so get ready to sit on germs.
