Bad day turned worse curtesy of these guys and their unprofessionalism. Went in to get the locks drilled out on my trailer. They got the job done, but significantly scratched up my trailer doors in the process. Keep in mind this is what these people get paid to do. They could have protected the trailer doors with tape, a piece of cardboard, a dirty rag for all I care, SOMETHING! No, instead complete negligence. When I went in and specifically asked for the manager, Israel (manager) was too busy chatting it up in the back (loud enough for me to hear) about a sandwich, to come and take care of business and deliver good customer service. So instead I spoke with another employee who seemed to care more about the issue than the actual manager. After looking at the damage the workers caused, he was able to give me a price break due to the significant damage to my trailer, but you better believe that I will NEVER, be going there again. What a nightmare. Wish I could find who the store owner is so I could give him a heads up, business owner to business owner, of how poorly his "manager" is handling the store. read more

My review is for the Concord location. I'm posting this review to share a positive experience with this location and especially with Israel. I want to let you all know that I was helped soonest possible and final cost under estimate due to honestly and skill. The correct outcome was under the good faith estimate by a significant amount AND the work required was less than expected. Honesty is to be rewarded. They very well could have done the repair and claimed the original estimate was what it took to solve my issue without me being the wiser. Sadly, there are many technicians who would be less honest. I was treated with respect and the actual problem was addressed correctly at a fair price. The work performed was to fix a tumbler issue with my car's ignition. The key wouldn't rotate the tumbler. It caused a frustrating issue of not being able to start my car without fiddling with the steering wheel lock too. I was concerned about my family getting stuck as my wife drives the car too. Moreover, I initially tried to solve the problem by going through my vehicle's dealership. The service techs there are great, but that would have taken three days. Two days of that being time to special order the tumbler. Rex lock assured me they could get the part same day. Then, despite the part being delivered, Israel identified the issue and was able to instead fix it at significantly lower cost and reject the expensive new tumbler. He added two new keys as well and solved an issue with my remote entry device. All around, a very good experience. Refreshing after a spate of misfortunes for me lately! read more

I gave them another opportunity when my front door wouldn't open, made my appointment on Tuesday for Thursday between 10-12 with a call half hour beforehand. I take today ( Thursday off, make sure I'm ready) It is now 2:20 with nothing. I called them them and the female receptionist was so rude to me, all I was doing was trying to re schedule. Rex saved my ass! Saved it! I'm not sure if the guy who came and unlocked my office was named "Rex" but we will just refer to him as such. So I was in my office around 4pm with the door shut and locked. I was tucked away nicely hidden from everyone else in their offices. Then I decided that I wanted to go home so I piled all my belongings on my desk and remembered to go get my left over lunch from the kitchen fridge. Then on my way back from the kitchen Id just pick up all my belongings and walk out the front door. Two steps out of my office it slams shut behind me with the door still locked. So all of my keys, purse, phone, lap top, breast pump with expressed milk....EVERYTHING!!!!! I lunge for the small lock box near our bathrooms to find a key for my office only to try every single one and not find it. I bent the hell out of my secretary's letter opener and a 25% discount card that our company used to give out to customers. This bitch wouldn't budge. My secretary thankfully had Rex Lock & Safe on file and thankfully they take P.O. #'s. THANKFULLY!!!! "Rex" showed up with in a half hour and about a half hour after showing up had the door opened and a new lock with two keys ready to go. One safely in the office lock box down the hall near the bathrooms and one on my key chain. You never feel more stupid until the moment you lock yourself out of something. Called to change out a lock to a dial/keypad combo lock on a large safe in my home. I have heard that Rex Lock is very knowledgable about safes so they were my first call. The first technician that came out was nearly two hours late. I had to call Rex lock multiple times in order to try and figure out where he was. When he arrived he unboxed the safe lock, attempted the install, and gave up after about 20 mins. He said that someone else would need to come out and look at the lock because he "didn't have the right tools." A few days later, after receiving no follow up call from Rex, I called and set up another appointment. This time the tech showed up 45 minutes late but was at least more knowledgable. The tech got the lock on but could not figure out how to reset the keypad. He also said that the first tech misplaced a screw that was needed to fully attach the lock to the dial. He eventually did get the dial combination working and said that someone from Rex would call me to finish the job. I could now at least get in and out of my safe until the job was finished. A week later and I have still not received a call from Rex and the dial portion of the keypad is now not working. I'm now locked out of my safe. Avoid this company if possible. read more

Well, this company actually did not help me what so ever. The 5 stars are for strictly following their policy of proof of ID that you live at the location you're trying to get into. So you can trust that they won't be letting any rando into your place. I locked myself out of my home today and they came in a timely manner. However, I had no ID or mail with my name on the address to prove I lived there (because it was inside) so I was turned down for their services. In the end, I ended up paying $100 less for accidentally breaking my window to get in than if I had been assisted by Rex. I only had to pay to replace the glass on my kitchen window. read more

With the help of Ace Hardware in Lafayette, I was referred to Rex Lock and Safe to take care of my door handle that Bomac's was not able to repair. Instead Bomac gave and estimate of between $400 and $1000 to repair and replace the hardware. I went to Rex's and was help by Craig. The whole hardware system was broke down to me in layman terms, so I understood what he thought he could do. Well, he did it. He fixed the 40 + year old handle and saved my family hundreds of $$$, as I only charged $30. Lesson learned --- "always get a second opinion, and to not go by the reputation or location of a busy.
