One of my vendors referred me to this company. Unfortunately their website is down so I went to Yelp and got their phone number. When I called the phone number the person didn't state they were the County Lock And Key they just said "What can I do for you" I asked "Is this county lock and key?" They responded "I asked what I can do for you. Maybe you need to find another business" then he hung up on me. Just returned after purchasing the correct fobs and Danny who had assisted me the first two times quickly got the new fobs working (and didn't disable my original one either!). I called and told them my availability and we agreed on a time. They said they would call me prior to coming to the home. We met at the home at the same time. We had our car key with a chip re-programmed at County Lock and Key as well as several spare home keys made. They had the best price I could find. It was 1/2 the price that the dealership would have charged as well as several other locksmiths (although most of the other locksmiths I called will travel to you, so that makes them more expensive naturally). It is a nice business, well kept and professional. All the workers were very professional except one man I talked to on the phone; he said he didn't deal with vehicle keys and was rude. Went here on my brother's recommendation to reprogram a key for my wife's RAV4. Unlike everyone else I called, Jose was happy to program a key I purchased elsewhere which saved me $100 over the next lowest bid. And because I purchased a non-OEM key the job ended up requiring a technical support call, disconnecting and reconnecting the battery, and re-flashing the car's bcm. I have used County Lock and Key for several years for both my home and business. Recently I contracted with Jose to replace the locks on two office buildings. After over two months, the work is not complete. There have been communication problems finding out when the work will be done, what was completed and when. When questioned why specific instructions were not followed, Jose became argumentative, to the point where it was not constructive. I ended up canceling the project. This company sold me the wrong locks for an office building. I needed handles to make the doors ADA accessible. They sold me the handles and then proceeded to remove all the deadbolts leaving these first floor tenants with less security than they had before. When I complained they said I should have purchased a more expensive lock set where the deadbolt is connected to the handle for quick egress in a fire. I would have purchased these had I known they existed. County lock may be great for people locked out of their homes but don't use them for ADA or commercial work. Plus they were rude on the phone when I asked them to replace the handles. They said "get someone else" and hung up. I have contacted Concord lock who is going to do the job right. Unfortunately I already spent $1050 with County Lock. read more

This is by far the best locksmith that I have visited in the vicinity. We ran into trouble the other day as we weren't able to open our storage door using a duplicate key. By simply looking at a picture of the original key, the locksmith was immediately able to create a key just like it. He was very friendly and professional. They've been able to accommodate everything -- our funky keys that nowhere else could do -- and get it right the first time. County lock and Key is under new ownership, Bob the previous owner has retired. The new owner is knowledgeable but is often out of the shop. When he is gone no one seems to be able to do much. I have been there 3 times just to get a newer style key cut, nothing fancy and they could not even do that. Great Service! I phoned, and received great advice about a lock on the mailbox that was all gummed up. Still the lock would not open, so I authorized mobile service because in my household the mail is top priority. The service man showed up early and on time, and fixed the lock real fast and leaving the mailbox in good shape. They do fantastic work! And have reasonable rates. I called County Lock & Key, also in Concord. I was told the cost to pick or drill the lock hitch lock on my truck would range from $25.00 to $45.00 regardless of whether or not I purchased a lock from them. I did not mention mention my experience with Rex Lock (see Below). I drove straight over to County Lock and I timed how long removing the lock would take. The technician spent 5 minutes trying to pick the lock and then told me he would have to drill it. It took another 10 minutes to drill and remove the lock. He charged me $35.00! Very reasonable! From now on I will go to County Lock & Safe, no lies and no bait and switch. Beware of Rex Lock & Safe - Bait and Switch... Earlier the same day I called Rex Lock & Safe to see how much it would cost to pick or drill the lock on my trailer hitch. The woman that answered the phone said there would be no charge for picking or drilling the lock if I purchased a new lock from them. I arrived at Rex Lock 20 minutes later and told her I was the fellow who called. She sent a technician out to the parking lot with me to look at the lock. He said he might be able to pick the lock but that he would probably have to drill the lock. He said in either case it would take about an hour to do the work and that I would be charged $90.00 labor for removing the lock - regardless of wether or not I purchased a lock from them. I told him that the woman on the phone told me there would be no charge for labor if I purchased the replacement lock from them. He told me she did not know what she was talking about and that it would take him about an hour to do the work in the hot sun (it was 75 degrees). I told him that Rex Lock was engaging in bait and switch tactics and that I would never use them in the future as I could no longer trust what they say. Got locked out cause key wouldn't turn for some reason. Had Rex Lock and Safe come out to fix it based on the rec from our HOA. They were able to get the door unlocked but the locksmith had trouble installing the cylinder (it got stuck) and wanted to charge me a crazy amount to replace the entire lock and to install a deadbolt. As another reviewer pointed out, they really tried to rip you off. So I declined their offer and called up Jose at County Lock. Really nice guy and came over and took like 10 min and was able to get the cylinder out. No problem. Didn't even try to rip me off by telling me I needed a whole new lock. Even better, he didn't even charge for coming out to take a look at it. I would totally recommend these guys! read more
