Great service. He's a friendly guy, and whenever I need him he's very communicative and does timely service!!

Lost both my keys some time ago and was relying on the valet key for way too long. Long story short found UL&K and all their positive reviews on Yelp and decided to give them a try. Dealership quoted me about $300. UL&K quoted $225 for a new key fob. Called them back on a Saturday I was finally available. He couldn't make it that day, but was down to come through on Sunday. Quick work. Friendly. Reasonably priced. Appeciate the Sunday service. Thanks Dao! read more

I have used Universal Lock & Key a few times for rekey projects. Recently I hired them to rekey my entire house. They did an excellent job. They even went above and beyond to fix a screen door that was not latching. I highly recommend. read more

Universal Lock & Key - Keys & Locksmiths Near Me

Owner Set an appointment scheduled for the weekend. When I called to confirm our appointment owner said can't do it until the week but never called to inform me. We'll I'm not getting any help during the week either. This guy is kind of worthless. Last year they did my RV. Dead bolt lock keeps falling out when I shut the door. I was hoping to have them come out and make more money and fix their mistake from last year. Apparently like the other people say they don't acknowledge their mistakes and don't keep their appointments or stand by their work. Don't waste your time with this company. Sad I can't give 0 stars. read more

So grateful for the professionalism and quick service of this business. I called and was given a reasonable price. Service arrived in less than 20 mins. The technician was so respectful and took every precaution to prevent damage to my vehicle. I called around and David was by far the best price and one of the nicest. After I decided to use Universal lock and key, I called to schedule and David had an opening that day near me. I was not in a hurry, but that was super convenient. I live in the Antioch area. David did not meet me, but Daniel did. Daniel was a very nice guy. He had everything needed for my automobile key fob reprograming in his van. I peeked in the van, and there were a ton of locksmith tools in there for home and auto. I would use this company again. They are upfront and honest in their pricing and fees. read more

Recently I lost my keys for three cars all with push button starter and auto key fobs. One key I had replaced for almost $400. The other two keys were quoted at $450 and $600. All the auto dealerships told me that I could not get a reliable key made unless I went thru an auto dealership. I started researching on the computer and found "Universal Lock and Key". I called David and he was courteous and answered all my questions. I made sure he had a business license and had him send out his technician Daniel. We are sure glad we called Universal Lock & Key. We got a new key fob made to open the doors and start the car in just over 30 minutes. Daniel was great to work with! Thanks so much! Mary Ann Brentwood read more

Don't stand by their work. Leave customers high and dry after denying they remember the work. Really poor service. Go elsewhere.

Called the other day, and was able to get help immediately. Just wanted to thank David for his help. Friendly, fast, and responsive to my texts and calls. Would use him and refer if needed. Thank you! read more

I contacted the company and communicated wIth David right away. I scheduled the programming of a remote and a key with transponder chip for my Tundra. He also cut a new key. I came home early from work one day, really sick. My mom met me at my house to drop off my toddler. Then... my house key broke off inside my lock. After the 3rd attempt of calling different locksmiths who were too busy to help me, David came to my rescue! He was there in probably 10-15 minutes after I called, and he was able to unlock my door; and make me a new house key in about 15 minutes. I could not have been more happy with David. I'm very thankful for his service. read more

David is the real deal. We are members of Lighthouse RV in Isleton and reside in Oregon. We keep our RV at out park and were driving down Hwy 5 when we realized we left the keys to our rig at home. I was referred to David by the staff at the park. David drove from Antioch within the hour and was waiting at the park when we drove in. He removed the locks, made new keys and had this all done in less than 30 minutes. I highly recommend David's service. He is professional, prompt and reasonable in cost. read more

This guy is amazing. If you ever need a locksmith this is your man. Was out to my car super fast and was nice and super reasonably priced!

David is the BEST! Late last night, my steering console locked up like crazy, and nothing I tried (for half an hour in the dark at the bart station) would work! My girlfriend and I called him up and he was there in no time to help. He fixed it enough for me to get home, and explained (in a very easy to understand way) how he could do a permanent fix for me the next day (today). Today he just rolled up and replaced my ignition, and my truck is good to go! He's just a really great guy who knows what he's doing, and charges fair prices! If I ever need a locksmith again, he is absolutely who I'm calling! Thank you David!!! read more

David came through for me once again! This is my third time using his service and he hadn't let me down. Thank you.

Nothing more frustrating than loosing a Car key in your own house even after you looked EVERYWHERE. The Dealer wanted wayyyyy tooo much money and I was going to have to tow it. After doing some research on a few companies I called Universal and a very polite man answered right away and gave me a quick quote that was much more reasonable and he would come to me and work directly in my driveway. He showed up on time, wore a mask and within 30 minutes I had a new key. He was very professional and did an awesome job! Thank you David!! read more

This review is about a month late! Last month I got to meet David when he came out to my home because my fob key had broken and unfortunately I did not have a back up key for my car. He was so professional and patient. He also did exactly what he promised and will definitely be the locksmith I call if I ever need to again. I've already told a few people about him. If you need a locksmith, he's your guy! read more

David was quick to respond when I needed help. I had my keys stolen out of my locker when I was 24 Hour Fitness. I asked around for estimates on how much it would cost to make a key for my 2002 Honda Civic and Universal Lock & Key had the best price. I will be calling them for more business because I need them to work on my lock for my Infiniti which David said he will be able to do. Polite and upfront about cost, very reasonable for a vehicle lock out. Daniel arrived within 30 min and had my vehicle unlocked in 5 minutes. Although I hope to not need again, I'd certainly call them first if I ever need a locksmith again. read more

Been living In my house a rental for about three years now. The landlord is cheap and when we first moved in never fixed the front door lock. We had a special way of getting in and it was annoying and took too much time to get through the front door. So, my boyfriend finally said call someone. Which I did. I Googled I'm a Sunday and David came up first. I texted him he didn't respond. And I texted a few other places. David hit me back the next day, today Monday. And said he was not working Sunday which was fine with me. He said he could come at 10:30 am. About 10 am he texted and said he was in traffic and needed to send his associate. His associate Daniel came, was polite and professional. He worked on my lock for a little over an hour. I went outside and didn't even realize David had come by as well. He introduced himself and was helping Daniel. Such a brat I wanted a new lock lol. But David assured me that the keys would work and if not he'd come back. He was right, the lock works way better. He had left not knowing his associates key maker wasn't working properly so he's on his way back to make me one additional key and while I have him here I asked for a spare key to my car. These guys were great I love supporting small businesses especially when they are friendly and knowledgeable of their services. I locked him in for future reference. And by the way the other companies never reached back out to me. Oh well, their loss now I have a new trusted locksmith. Thank you David and Daniel! read more

Great service. No hidden cost. Charged what he estimated. Came within 30 minute. Service was fast and efficient. Since works from that was a plus. Would recommend and i will use for all lock issues. read more

My son and I locked ourselves out of our house and called David on a Saturday. Dave answered right away, let me know he was on his way to another service and would be about 90 mins. After about 1 hr 45 mins I called David and he stated he was running late and failed to contact me to advise and apologized. It took David a little over 2 hrs to assist which is still excellent time, especially for a weekend. David was able to unlock our doors within a minute or two and charge an extremely reasonable rate, a little too low in my opinion, but I'm not complaining. Definitely give Dave a call should you lock yourself out of your house, car, etc. read more

If I could give this company a negative 5, I would. Called needing a locksmith. Was told that the locksmith would check out and give a quote and if agreed on the quote, then they would continue and if you are not satisfied that we can send them away. Key was found and called the tech, who was very nice, to cancelled. Ten mins later his supervisor calls and tells me that the tech is 5 mins away and if we could give him $20 for gas. I was like "what?" The sup then said that we agreed to a cancellation fee... told him nothing was said about that. He then said that if we didn't give the tech $20 to call the police and I told him to go ahead and then I hung up. The supervisor called me back and said that everything is recorded and that he was going to call the police. Again I told him to go ahead and hung up. read more
