In my older age, I appreciate a well made cocktail. Edwin made me the 2nd best whiskey sour I've had in my lifetime!! That's says a lot! My husband and I shared a grilled romaine salad and the blackened halibut sandwich. Absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. We first tried Reunion Kitchen in Anaheim Hills and loved it, so much so that we tried the Brea location the following weekend! The food is consistent at both locations, which for us speaks volumes about basic restaurant management. We had the chicken pot pie and patty melt, both delicious! The CPP comes with perfectly cooked roasted root veggies so divine I ate them first. The patty melt is wrapped in the most delicious rye bread and cooked exactly as requested. My husband loved the warm potato salad. The service front start to finish was perfect. Not so much bugging that can be so annoying, rather timed well and just enough to appreciate the attention. The restaurant is super cool inside, eclectic and open and not too noisy. I can't wait to go back and try more items, though it will be hard to not to want what I already know is great. On Christmas Eve we should up to eat with a group of 5 at 8:28 pm. The manager Marcos informed us that the restaurant closed at 8:30 pm. I explained that the website stated that closing time was 9:30 pm. He was super accommodating and sat us down even though the kitchen was closing on 2 minute. Marcos provided us with great service. Good food, but prices seem a bit high, so that's why 4 stars instead of 5. Have been to the Anaheim Hills location for happy hour which was very tasty and very reasonable. Came to the Brea location for lunch with friends to celebrate a birthday. Food quality was pretty good and service was fine. Nothing to gush over, but definitely acceptable. However my cioppino was $37 and my friend's tequila lime shrimp was also $37 - pretty high prices for just average plates of food. Other friends in our group also had soda and iced teas and each drink was $5, plus tax and tip - bringing a non-alcoholic drink to $6!! I will probably come back, but only for happy hour, when prices are much more reasonable. Another small issue is that they figure the tip %'s including tax, when tips should not be figured on tax amount. This is one of many restaurants that have started doing this and I'd love to know why, other than price gouging. Seems like after the pandemic, many restaurants have chosen to take advantage of that difficult time and raise prices way too high. Has certainly made us stay at home and cook more. Not so much because we can't afford it, but because it's just too much to spend. I hope restaurants realize that between price hikes, excessive tipping, and added fees, they are turning away many guests. read more

I was so excited to try this place when I heard that they opened in Brea. And it got such high reviews in the short amount of time that it's been open. Firstly, I loved the ambiance/decor (industrial modern vibe) and service was great. We didn't have to wait too long for the food to come out either. But the food was mediocre at best for the pricepoint. We ordered mostly from the happy hour menu and one item off the main menu. HH Brussel sprouts - it looked really good, nice and charred but did not have any flavor whatsoever. HH Blue cheese sliders - Two short rib sliders with fried onions strings and blue cheese dressing. The onion strings were SO stale and unless you slater on the blue cheese dressing, it was pretty dry and flavorless. HH Pretzel - It was buttery and the condiments were good but the pretzel was nothing special. Definitely have had better elsewhere. Prime Rib Dip - Ordered medium rare but received it well done. The horseradish cream sauce did not have any kick (personal preference, I like mine a little spicy). Au jus was maybe the best thing about the dish. The hubby said it best, the sandwich tasted like something you can get at a fast food place. If you like prime rib dip sandwiches, save your money and go to Nick's! Leaving disappointmented for having spent a decent amount of money for mediocre food. The ambiance, food, and service were wonderful, and Ashley, our server, went above and beyond to make everything great. Manager greeted us at the bar, gave us menu's, let us know someone would help us in a moment didn't engage or offer to get us started with drinks. Bar tender came over a few minutes later. Espresso Martini - Very good Blackberry breeze - Okay, gotta like the piney/floral flavor profile Pretzel - very good After we received our first round service went down hill during the transition. The AM bartender was more focused on turning things over, she never came back to check on us. The PM guy took his time getting to us. Mind you there were 3 other people at the bar. Lots of conversations with other team members, managers standing around talking never checked on us. When he finally returned we placed our order, another drink, and sadly pretty much nothing was memorable. Poke Tacos - Poke did not taste fresh Deviled eggs - Would have been good but too much sweet chili sauce Miso Garlic noodles - We sent these back, boring dish needed something Bleu Cheese sliders - Another boring item, Just a stale bun, cheese sauce and fried onion with a thin patty Charcuterie - This was okay, wouldn't order it again. Bartender never asked if I wanted another drink, I would have ordered one as it was the best thing I was served. Managers never came to check in on us, even after we sent a dish back. Which is fine if they had something to do, but I just watched them stand around the entire time I was there. Would have loved to tell them my feedback in the moment. It was my only meal of the day, $130 for food that I wished I hadn't eaten. On top of that I got the runs later that night. I had absolutely nothing but the food I ate there.
