Sometimes you just want a good juicy burger. You will get one here. The menu is almost overwhelming until you remember you can order them as you like them with nearly any ingredient. I would advise ordering "medium" if you don't want a well-done burger. Medium rare was more rare than I liked but you know how that is a matter of opinion or style. The beef was SO good it was ok rare. (what I'd call rare.) The brioche style buns are very large. I never get how to bite into them so I do an open face. The accompanying fries were on the overdone side but good. The onion rings are FIRE! Very crispy crumbed coating and tender. If you like onion rings, definitely get them. Very noisy establishment even mid afternoon. I struggled to hear the waiter over the music and customers. Fries were ok if soggy. Teriyaki burger was very disappointing. I went here for the first time recently, just randomly choosing a place to eat at a halfway mark for me and some co-workers and am so glad I did! This may be a hidden gem and I definitely want to go back! The inside was quaint and our server was good. It was hard to choose what I wanted to eat as lots looked good. The fried pickle spears were terrific, the burger was thick and juicy and delicious but the thing I just can't stop thinking about is the key lime martini. It's one of those drinks that you just need in your life. My biggest dilemma when I go back is that there were so many other drinks that looked equally amazing but how do I not get the key lime again? I honestly can't wait to go back. Had a disappointing experience at Restaurant 55 in Magnolia. Waited over 25 minutes without assistance, even after bringing it to the hostess's attention respectfully because it may have been a simple oversight. People seated after us were acknowledged and assisted promptly. The hostess attempted to help, however despite being told to attend to us, our server walked away and went to the kitchen, further prolonging our wait. Ultimately, left after 37 minutes of frustration we got up to leave. Their food in the past has been delicious so may try again but definitely disappointed this time. The ambiance was " missing." The seating was cramped. Tiny table. After being seated, we asked to be moved, and we were told that they had only one side open. Ok, only the restaurant was not crowded.. so why can't we have a better place to be seated? No response. The waiter was in a rush during our deciding on what to order. Very impatient. Rude. My son took us to this place when we visited for a snack and beer. We got wings, fries and a pretzel. He got the bay wings and oooh not for me. They were very seasoned. The meat itself was tasty. The pretzel was big and yummy. It was salty but it may have tasted more salty because of the wings. But it was good. The fries were the best part of the food. Fresh (warm) and not salty. We were just going for a snack so it was fine. The beer on the other hand. Big selection! We got the West Coast IPA. It's was very good. We are from San Diego where there are a ton of breweries so when we travel we are always looking for good beer. I could feel my heart putting up a fight but it was totally worth it. Fries are hot and crisp. The service is great. Oh and they have a solid beer selection. Need I say more? They ran out of turkey croquets and had to choose something else. The stuffed meatloaf was just okay. The stuffing was flavorful but the meatloaf was bland and under seasoned. My fig burger was way too sweet overall. The fig jam plus the candied bacon plus the sweet drunken onions all made it too sweet. The goat cheese was not strong enough to cut through the sweetness. A sharp cheddar or a blue cheese would have been a better choice. The burger itself had no flavor whatsoever. This was our second time to visit. We really wanted to give it a second chance after a mediocre experience the first time. Our server Quawn was excellent and attentive. Unfortunately, the food just wasn't up to par on either visit. We'll be dining elsewhere the next time we're in Dover. read more

We found Restaurant 55 thanks to Yelp and all the positive reviews. This review is also nothing but positive. This is a nice, clean, and open restaurant with plenty of parking. We were quickly seated by a very friendly hostess. Our waitress was extremely knowledgeable and extremely attentive. There is a very large number of different beers on tap as well as in bottles and cans. There is certainly something for everyone. If you like burgers this is the place for you. Lots of different specialty burgers as well as a build your own burger with hundreds of different combinations. We got the following burgers: Teriyaki burger, Philly burger, Santa Fe, and a burger with sautéed onions and mushrooms. Every one of them was outstanding and my party recommends every one. Hidden gem! I truly believe I had the best burger I've ever had from here. You have to try it out, if you're close by. Food: 10/10- they have a huge selection of burgers to choose from & the meat is very fresh. They have a 50/50 burger which is half ground beef, half ground bacon & it was amazing! They also offer a sage burger which is made with ground sausage, that I really wanted to try. You can create your own or go with one of their specialties, which all sound great. We visited Restaurant 55 on a Friday evening during the dinner rush and had to wait about 20 minutes to get a table. We spent the time studying the menu and the specials and so, we're pretty much ready to order when we sat down. The staff was young and friendly but a little frenetic. We waited a while for our food to come out. My burger was tasty but overcooked. The fries were good and.we stayed to share a carrot cupcake for dessert. I'm normally fussy about carrot cake but this was really very good. The place was a little loud but prices were pretty reasonable. I'd just say pack your patience on Friday night. Start-to-finish, dinner took about 90 minutes, with the wait to be seated and the seemingly overwhelmed kitchen. Still, I think we'd go back. They advertise their craft beers but I wasn't that impressed with their list of drafts.
