We love going for breakfast. Sitting at the small tables looking out over Silver Lake is the best.

Overall experience- Went here for breakfast for my boyfriend's birthday. Randomly searched up breakfast places and landed at this cute spot. It was so charming and old school place. It also was right by a lake which was really breathtaking. We got sat right away and all the staff was nice there wasn't many people in the restaurant which was nice made the breakfast more quiet and intimate. The decor was making you feel like you are at your grandmas house and gonna get a great meal. Food- Everything was great and made fresh to order. I do wish the French toast was a bit thicker and cooked a little longer.... (I like my French toast to have crispy edges but I'm just picky) The pancakes bacon, eggs, omelet cooked to perfection. My favorite this would honestly be the home fries. I love a good breakfast potato. The potions are pretty big and will leave you full for most of the day. I would definitely go back. read more

If you come here you can expect friendly, fast service and food that tastes like it was made with love. We were in the area and a little pressed for time which is why I got a cheese burger with sweet potato fries instead of the fried chicken dinner which I really wanted (I'll be returning for it though believe me). But the cheese burger was a juicy, generous half pound cooked just right and the sweet potato fries were perfectly crispy on the outside and a little softer on the inside-obviously hand cut and fresh. When I return I'll be trying a dessert too so stay tuned for an update. I've heard that the breakfast food served all day here is delicious too so you really can't go wrong, no matter what you choose. read more

Delicious! I saw a review saying this was a small place- I don't know why they thought that! We had a nice seat by the window with a water view - wonderful to have coffee with yummy cinnamon raisin French toast, sausage, home fries, eggs - so much I couldn't finish it! My husband had sausage gravy over biscuits with home fries enjoyed every bite he was able to eat. Next time we're in Dover we'll be back! read more

We went to the country eatery I asked if they have anything Gluten free and she went and checked She came back and said no nothing is gluten free. I said ok thanks. Then she came back to take our order and asked me what I wanted and I said I cannot eat anything and she gave me a dirty look and quickly walked away. After that she acted very cold towards us. Took our out-of-town family here for breakfast. It looked like a cute Cottage on the outside and it was situated right on the edge of a little pond. When you go in the building its very old and dirty. There were flies everywhere and they kept running into us, just nasty. When our waitress came she took our orders and then promptly returned with our drinks and coffee. Not too long afterwards our breakfast arrived and so did the problems. My mother-in-law ordered a waffle with chipped beef and a side of bacon. What she received was a waffle with 2 tablespoons of chip beef on it and no bacon at all. She ended up having to ask the waitress to bring more chip beef because the portion she was given was so ridiculous. I got an omelet which was under seasoned and my husband got a large plate of food but nothing was spectacular about any of it. Next time we'll try a different place. read more

Really quaint cottage style environment. Good range of food. Very large old school portions and food tasted good, a little cold, probably had been sitting in the back for a while. Service was very slow, over 30 mins, we almost left. The bus person, who said she was in training was way more efficient than the waitress, promote her! Our favorite stop to and from Bethany. These are the type of eateries we miss in the big city (NYC). Good quality food and a great price. Breakfast all day plus lunch and dinner The staff is always warm and welcoming and you feel like a regular as soon as you step in the door. This charming little cottage of a restaurant is located a mile from Dover Downs, but tucked down a side road, on a lake. We were seated immediately on a Friday morning, and greeted by our very friendly and proficient server Lynzee. We had a window view of the lake, which has a little fenced dock for patrons to visit. I had delicious French Toast and Bacon, and my husband had Canadian Bacon and Scrambled Eggs, Fried Potatoes with a paprika seasoning, and a large carrot cake muffin which was like moist carrot cake. Pretty good restaraunt. I think it's a little odd they serve an orange slice with everything, which isn't an issue though two of my party members are allergic and they weren't asked. Server was nice and attentive. The atmosphere in the morning was pretty calm but I got there before the church crowd so I can't speak for after 9:30. Food was good, bacon was surprisingly nice, still floppy but crispy on the edges. They also serve scrapple for meat brick enjoyers (a criticism of scrapple, not the restaraunt, haha.) If you want a basic breakfast, this is your place. My husband and I went in on a Saturday, around 1130am, expecting there to be a long wait. There wasn't and we were seated right away. We sat by a window which had a lovely view of the lake, but was freezing with the draft coming through. We each ordered an omelette and were not disappointed. They were large, full of filling and delicious. The house potatoes that came with it were delicious. The coffee was never ending and so good. We came here for breakfast on our way back home from staying the weekend in Dover. It's a good size compared to what it looks like from the outside. There was a 5 minute wait. We were shown our table and it seemed to take a while to get our drink order. Since we waited a little bit, we were able to give our food order as well. I ordered the corned beef hash with eggs, rye toast and home fries. I also ordered a single pancake. Seeing this on the menu made me happy since you hardly ever get to order just 1 pancake. My eggs were cooked perfect, the corned beef as well, and the home fries were red potatoes cooked and perfectly seasoned. My friends also loved their food. They were really excited they offered scrapple, something you don't see much at home. Our server Tina seemed to rush us a bit. She was not as friendly in the beginning but redeemed herself with her great service. (Maybe she just started her shift and was not wide awake yet!?) Anyway, yummy food, quaint place. read more

Gave it another try after being dissatisfied the last time we were there. We came in about 2:30 pm, 4 tables around where we were seated hadn't been cleaned off ( the whole hour we were there) we waited 35 minutes for a tuna melt and chicken salad sandwiches. The waitress had a bad attitude and never commented when we asked about our order 25 minutes after we ordered SANDWICHES! Tuna tasted nasty, the English muffin couldn't be cut with a steak knife, and the bread on the chicken salad was dry like it sat out in the back ready to be served. Our order included: Liver...great (she's been back numerous times for this dish) Grilled seafood platter...very very good Fried seafood platter...not so good. Service...home-style ecceptional! Visit during the day...magical...it was raining and sitting in the warm, cosy room with family chatter around us while looking out onto the wonderful lake view was a *get back to bed* moment for me, it was so cosy and peaceful. Our brunch were large muy yummy portions! Service once again was exceptional. 3.5 Stars, rounded down for now. I've spent at least a weekend or two in Dover every year for the last few decades. This past weekend was the first time I've had a chance to visit the Countrie Eatery. I'm hoping I don't have to wait another decade for a return visit. It is a very simple restaurant, with the view being the best thing to pull in new diners, but good luck grabbing a table at a window! My son and I were lucky enough to arrive just before the Sunday morning crowds. We snagged the last available table with a view, so he spent his breakfast watching the geese while my view was of a corner of the building. I'm not sure why a restaurant on a lake wouldn't maximize the windows along that side, but the best view is honestly from the parking lot. If you are seated anywhere other than a window, take a moment to enjoy the lake as you walk to your car. We ordered the Constitutional and the Little Creek. The Constitutional was an amazing deal. Under $10 for two each of pancakes, eggs, bacon, and sausage and a nice portion of home fries. Our request of the bacon extra crispy was honored, and the sausages were good crisp bangers. The Little Creek was a crab cake Benedict served with home fries. The crab cake was good, though the main flavor was simple Old Bay, which is not my favorite. At $12 I was wishing that I'd ordered a different platter, especially after my darling son offered me some of his sausage. Service was fast and friendly enough, though I wish our waitress had been able to check on us more often. I'd have ordered my own side of sausage! As we left we passed the line of people waiting for a table. I'm not convinced that the restaurant is worth a wait, but then I'm only in town a few times a year and generally eat early, so will hopefully always be able to request a window seat. read more

The pictures online do not do this Dover gem any service. This is a beautiful setting flanked by a gorgeous lake. The interior setting was of a country cottage. My excitement was shattered in one bite. FOOD: Little Creek: "No Ma'am"..The egg was fine, but the crab cake TANKED this dish. I have no issue with store bought foods, but the quality needs to be on point. It was clear to me that this was the cheapest brand and they made no attempts to spice it up. It tasted processed with breading and filler. The cake was also mushy, with bits of artificial crab meat. The home fries tasted like nothing, even with salt and ketchup. So they tasted like ketchup. Which brings up the question... Why are there packets of ketchup instead of bottles at a dine-in restaurant? NO... Ma'am. SERVICE: Our service was awkward with minimal check ins. Still we wanted to cut the staff some slack. VENUE: I get the overall the look.... it's supposed to be like someone's house. But the quality of the food does not compliment the overall presentation of this spot. I suggest replacing the cups as a start. My dads orange juice looked old and watery( because it was.... bad quality) and the cups also made the lemonade look like murky water. CONCLUSION: Never coming back. I couldn't finish my food.
