Super friendly local hang out with good food and great service. Second time here today after the first visit seven years ago with breakfast, including steak and eggs and great fries. Cindy's daughter waited on us.

Impossible not to like this place because it's authentic and the people are so nice. The restaurant was a 5. The food--at least the few dishes we ordered--was a 3. This I rated this a 4, but I plan to return to try more vittles (slang of "victuals"). And this is the kind of homey country place that has vittles. I had the veal patty with gravy and my esteemed guest had a turkey sandwich. No big surprises here, except that the veal patty was breaded and fried. But I found most of the food on the Eastern Shore pretty mediocre with lots of fried stuff so it wasn't a total shock. Most of the food we saw at the Shore was crab or fried stuff or both. Still, Cindy's does a nice job and it's worth tasting their vittles.

What can you say other than "this just feels like home". Perfect, quaint spot, with indoor seating and some outdoor picnic bench seating as well. Cindy's is that hometown place where all the locals go. That ought to tell you enough. The menu is up on the wall, as well as the specials. keep your eyes out of the dessert refrigerator, at the end of the Bartop, until after your meal. Parking is all around the building as well as across the street. The prices, I have to mention this because I travel for work and I'm lucky to have a company card. With using a company card I tend to be careful about how much I spend but, Cindy's had me looking at the Menu board for something else to add. The prices are hands down the way prices should be. No outlandish price gouging going on here! This is my first time here but, im very confident what I had was all made in house. Coleslaw! I love coleslaw and Cindy's is nice and creamy not watery or scooped from a container. Listen, im hoping to work in this area again just so I can come back and try more!!! I'm truly a fan!

Food was tasty but over priced... I got a cheeseburger very good but a little greasy (who didn't see that coming though) My side of home fires cost me 2 bucks and I got about 1/3 of a spud. REALLY? I pay 2 bucks give me some home fries. Chipped Beef was 7 bucks, okay flavor and relatively small. Turkey sandwich was great and only 4 bucks. Maybe they are catering to the 1% since they have a signed photo of John Boehner. Amazing how people in rural areas are fooled into voting against their best interests. Way to go republicans, tell middle class people to blame poor people so that they can protect rich people. haha

Suicide Bridge Restaurant - Special of the day lobster sliders

Suicide Bridge Restaurant

We decided to go to Suicide on Friday evening before attending a marriage conference at the Hyatt…read more We got there pretty early around 4pm. It was quiet and empty. We were seated right away. Our waitress Holly was attentive and knowledgeable. My husband ordered the Suicide Oysters and I ordered the Casino Clams for appetizers. I did not try his but mine were so small I had trouble finding the clam, and they smelled so much like feet. I think I had a different idea of Casino Clams, I was very disappointed. He also said his was nothing to write home about. I ordered the Delmonico Steak, he ordered the filet and we each added a lobster tail. Our steaks were wonderful. Cooked and seasoned perfectly - I'm still thinking about it haha! Our lobster tails on the other hand were so overcooked we had to basically swallow them whole. I ordered the potato of the day which was crazy potato's and the vegetable of the day which was kale -- both of those were ultimately great. Before we got our check we heard the waitress taking care of the table behind us mention dessert -- an eclair to be exact and I convinced my husband to get one -- it was either going to be really good or really bad judging by our experience. I wish I could tell you it was the most fabulous eclair I'd ever had and it made up for the $40 worth of terrible appetizers but that would be a lie :( It was huge, but it was frozen! I took it home to let it thaw out and the chocolate on top was still so thick 6hours later that I couldn't even bite into it. I had to flip it around and eat it with a fork on the side with the pastry. We expected so much more from this restaurant especially for what we paid. I'm not sure we have ever spent that much money at any restaurant for just the two of us EVER. Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures of my food, I didn't plan to leave a review!

It was a fantastic stop on the way home and the little crab fritters were to die for!read more

Madison Bay R&R is a hidden gem in the Cambridge, MD area!…read more My wife and I found this place years ago on a weekend stay at the Hyatt Chesapeake Bay. We were out roaming the islands by car getting lost when we came upon this diner style place to eat. We sat at the bar and were treating a little gruffly on this visit. Something about this place being for locals and we were sitting in someone's assigned seat. The "seat owners" came in, but said not to worry, they would sit further down the bar We were a little uncomfortable, but had some of the BEST crab cakes ever. The lady behind the bar said her crab cakes won a state wide competition. They were good! Fast forward 4 years and we planned to take advantage of a Hyatt promotion and return to the Chesapeake Bay. Remembering this place, I wanted to find it again. We were lost the first time and not sure how to return. Fortunately, it is placed on a memorable cove from the bay with a trailer park nearby and a big red roof. I used Google Earth to search the images of water front buildings and found what looked like the exact location. I then mapped the location for directions from the Hyatt. Incredibly, it is a straight shot from the Hyatt private drive about 12 miles away. This visit was an incredible journey into a locals' haven. The 3 guys at the bar and the bartender were very gracious. We had good conversation and enjoyed the $2 happy hour beers. The locals were fun to talk with and we learned a lot about the area, fishing, and sailing. We even learned that celebrities including Larry Hagman and others have been to this place. The crabs cakes were as good as we remembered! Most the sides are fresh made on site or "doctored up" to taste as good as homemade. It was so good, we went back the next day for the same thing! Kitty, the bartender, and her husband manage the place and the trailer park next door. Prices are very reasonable and it beats Cantler's for lump crab cakes!

The staff has always been super friendly, and drinks and food have always come out very quickly. They have very good crushes and their seared ahi tuna is my favorite menu it. It's always fresh and a good cut of tuna. Many times when I order seared tuna at restaurants there is always a section that is extremely chewy but that's never been the case at Doc's. Their wings are also great and popular amongst the group we typically go to Doc's with. If coming by boat, I recommend getting there early to try and snag a slip or spot on the backside as it gets very rough docking in the front or side of the restaurant.

They recently completed their outdoor dining renovation which consisted of a lower covered area and an upper deck with sweeping views of the tred Avon. We opted for the lower seating area as they only had high tops on the upper deck. The top deck also has shade covering. Great view of the river from both locations and we were very comfortable on a hot day due to a nice breeze as well as the fans they have on the deck. Chelsea was our server and she was efficient and personable. We opted for an order of onion rings, crab cake, mussels, coconut shrimp and a Burrata salad. we usually go to Capsize Restaurant by boat and docs clearly is bringing in more people which I suspect is largely related to their location on the river. Our food was mixed with the crab cake being a solid two star with too much filler and poor seasoning, tasted like one of the nasty crabcakes we get in Florida. The coconut shrimp were done nicely but the provided sauce was so hot that it took our guest breath away. My muscles were a solid four star and they mixed in spicy sausage and shrimp as part of the mix and it was very good. The garlic bread that came with it was in my opinion forgettable. The Burrata salad was a solid four star plus as was the avocado crab gazpacho which our guest had as an appetizer. Onion rings were OK but straight out of a box. All in all, I would gladly return especially during happy hour as I suspect they do a very big business.
