Stopped in on a weekday afternoon for lunch, upon the suggestion from a coworker. Outside looked really cool, a genuine retro vibe, and the inside lived up to the standard as well. Parking was at a premium, so had to park across the street. Walked in to a very crowded restaurant, but a waitress told us it would be only a minute for the three of us-a few guys at the bar area moved over for us, and we ended up sitting there. I ordered breakfast, which was good-my colleagues had a bit of a different experience. Lesson learned, don't order a cheesesteak outside of Philly, it's just not the same. Overall, a really cool place, full of locals, but the service is great, and the breakfast was good. I would return. We need more places like this with a down home feel! read more

I decided to try Cendy's as the parking lot was full. Upon entering, I saw one table being cleaned and available. The tables looked cute and had a homemade appearance. There was one waitress and one cook, both very busy. The food tasted homemade and the place seemed clean. read more

It was the Yelp reviews that caught my eye while I was traveling on business to this coastal city of Cambridge, MD, on the eastern shore. Based on the reviews, I was expecting a crowd of locals to be frequenting this special diner. I was happy to be welcomed and greeted as soon as I walked in. The warm welcome and friendly service made it seem like I was a new friend. The owner for 24 years, Ms. Cindy stopped by to welcome me and check-in after my meal had been delivered. She is the spirit of this diner -- it seemed she was able to personally thank every customer by name! The quality of food was fresh, steaming hot and delicious. Portions were generous! Cindy's is fantastic! A friendly, down to earth locals place. We had breakfast - corned beef hash and bacon/egg/cheese sandwich with potatoes. It was all delicious. Impossible not to like this place because it's authentic and the people are so nice. The restaurant was a 5. The food--at least the few dishes we ordered--was a 3. This I rated this a 4, but I plan to return to try more vittles (slang of "victuals"). And this is the kind of homey country place that has vittles. I had the veal patty with gravy and my esteemed guest had a turkey sandwich. No big surprises here, except that the veal patty was breaded and fried. But I found most of the food on the Eastern Shore pretty mediocre with lots of fried stuff so it wasn't a total shock. Most of the food we saw at the Shore was crab or fried stuff or both. Super nice people and the Corn Nuggets in my opinion were the best side but the best meal in my opinion is catfish

We drove down to the "shore" from Baltimore City. I tried Cindy's Kitchen for breakfast. I had bacon, scrambled eggs with Provolone cheese, home fries, toast, and a cup of coffee. This was a GREAT breakfast. I ate at the restaurant. I took 3 orders of food back to the Airbnb. My family enjoyed the delicious food. They especially liked the home fries (real potatoes). My server provided me with excellent customer service. The atmosphere was relaxed. I will eat here again the next time I am there n the "shore"! read more

Quite a hidden gem. Don't be put off by the size or location. This is definitely where the locals eat. Not a local? No worries, friendly service and the owner stopped by to check and chat with us. What can you say other than "this just feels like home". Perfect, quaint spot, with indoor seating and some outdoor picnic bench seating as well. Cindy's is that hometown place where all the locals go. That ought to tell you enough. The menu is up on the wall, as well as the specials. keep your eyes out of the dessert refrigerator, at the end of the Bartop, until after your meal. Parking is all around the building as well as across the street. The prices, I have to mention this because I travel for work and I'm lucky to have a company card. With using a company card I tend to be careful about how much I spend but, Cindy's had me looking at the Menu board for something else to add. The prices are hands down the way prices should be. No outlandish price gouging going on here! This is my first time here but, im very confident what I had was all made in house. Coleslaw! Food was tasty but over priced... I got a cheeseburger very good but a little greasy (who didn't see that coming though) My side of home fires cost me 2 bucks and I got about 1/3 of a spud. REALLY? I pay 2 bucks give me some home fries. Chipped Beef was 7 bucks, okay flavor and relatively small. Turkey sandwich was great and only 4 bucks. Maybe they are catering to the 1% since they have a signed photo of John Boehner. Amazing how people in rural areas are fooled into voting against their best interests. Way to go republicans, tell middle class people to blame poor people so that they can protect rich people. haha read more

This is a throwback spot with down home cooking and seemingly everyone knew each other's names. The food was delicious. The prices were very inexpensive. My son had an egg over easy sandwich in white toast with a little ketchup and he crushed it. I saw 'sloppy joe' on the white board as a special and I had to order it. It was exactly what I was hoping it would be. We also ordered a ton of sides that were in the whiteboard. All of them were local and delicious. We also had a couple of desserts. Very friendly staff. Never had their food but stopped in for a drink now and again, kinda of think they are on the small side, and their location across from the cemetery is ehh... idk depressing, so location wise probably not the best. The inside looks ugly as well, like some old person put it together and not updated it since the 1950s. So aside from the small space they got to work with (which probably limits the food variety drastically) and the horrible decor the service when I been in there a few times has been nice. I been there before when going on exercise across the country roads. I can't judge their food since I never had it, but the decor and the old timey ugly look to the inside of the place is off putting to me. read more

This little place was packed! Definitely a locals place, replete with geezer table in the back and a dog waiting out front. The atmosphere is very Mel's Diner meets Cheers. The food took a while. I ordered the scrapple and cheese omelette, which came with toast and hash browns. My friend had the pizza burger, which he said was unremarkable. My food was also unremarkable. But it's a decent breakfast option if you don't want Denny's or Cambridge Diner. Might come back to try lunch sometime. read more

Ordered food from here through DoorDash. Never again!! Ordered clam strips with fries for $12 and was only given a handful of clam strips, if that. Fries weren't cooked through. Went in one evening after reading about Cindy's on one of those "Only in your State" posts. Nestled in slightly off the highway, this small hidden gem is a great find. Walking in for dinner, we got a seat immediately, with no wait, even though the tiny dining room was busy. The menu is conveniently hung on the wall, with everything easily listed with prices, and specials are written on two separate whiteboards. There wasn't much of a wait before we were greeted, and our orders taken. The food came out soon after, leaving us only a few minutes to take in the rustic decor. The plates were piled high with delicious comfort food, in amazing amounts. The food lived up to its descriptions, fulfilling my hunger as well as my palate. On subsequent trips, we've gone there for breakfast, and was equally amazed at the quantity and quality of food, though, it was a bit more crowded. Parking can get interesting during business hours, and Sunday hours are limited to breakfast only. I look forward to going back to Cindy's, and recommend them to anyone who will listen! read more

Stopped for breakfast on our drive from D.C. to Belle Haven. What a charming place to pull off of the 50 for a short breather. If you miss the first access turn on your right headed east on 50 no worries there is another access point immediately following. I'm from AZ so I thought the price was slightly high but considering the location I wouldn't complain. Service was impeccable. Coffee was hot and smooth, which for me is sign of an excellent breakfast joint. I'm super finicky about my breakfast foods so keep that in mind. My husband and I shared the big breakfast. Which came with 2eggs, home fries, bacon and 2 hot cakes. They were very generous in giving us blueberry hot cakes in place of the plain. But when I say the potatoes were not fried enough I mean I prefer my home fries to have a crest these tasted almost boiled then fried to reheat. I asked for poached eggs and got over easy but plenty of bacon to make up for it all. I was also impressed with the cleanliness of the hood and kitchen. So glad I had Yelp which lead me to this hole in the wall breakfast lunch café built inside of an old gas station (the days when gas was called Ethel). Seriously though, if you want some darn good home cooking / comfort food then this place should be on your hit list if you are headed anywhere near Cambridge or going to or returning from Ocean City, stop you won't regret it. I had Cindy's Sausage Gravy n Biscuits, and my wife had Corned Beef hash, 2 eggs over medium and rye toast. The sausage gravy was almost, and I mean almost as good as mine, so it's the real deal, and I would order it again anytime because it is easier than making it myself...LOL!!! Just to let you know, I wouldn't touch Cracker Barrel's country gravy (floury paste) n biscuits with a pole, let alone put it in my mouth. OMG, the Beef Hash was awesome, the only thing that would have made this any better was if it was on my plate instead of my wife's...LOL!!! Coffee was bountiful and good. We where coming back from OC and didn't want to stop in down OC. We pasted 1 place. I turned yelp on and found Cindy's Kitchen they were serving breakfast, Brunch as well as lunch. It was 12:30. It's was like being in your own Kitchen. You can sit at the bar or at a table, you pick your seating. Myself,wife and 6 year old sat down at the table of our choice. Ordered our food and it was just like being in your own kitchen. Everything was made to order no frozen food everything was fresh. The whole staff was great and made sure you were very well take care of. Food was out fast and tasted delicious, definitely some down home cooking and a very friendly atmosphere. Will definitely be returning soon as we travel down a few times a year. read more

I brought my family here for lunch and we loved it. Everyone got something different and each entree was declared delicious. I had the Rueben with a side of stewed tomatoes that totally stole the show. Loved the sammy but the tomatoes were a little bit of heaven in my mouth - sweet to start and a slightly spicy finish. My son declared their chicken noodle soup better than my own and he nearly inhaled the Boston Cream Pie he had for dessert. I had the bread pudding with lemon sauce. Wanted to eat something other than fast food on the way home from OCMD. I pulled out my Yelp machine in Cambridge MD and saw Cindy's Restauant. We pulled up to this cute looking "farmers store" in the middle of a Y intersection and cornfield. This was it. We were so excited to see what they offered. We walked in to the most local and most down home restaurant ever. Smiling/welcoming faces greeted us. It was genuine welcoming here. They have bar style seating but we took a booth. Sweet ice tea was very sweet and very refreshing. Kids dad got a cheeseburger which looked (and he said, tasted) fresh and was juicy with flavor. Daughter got chicken sandwich with a side of onion petals. She said the sandwich was sooo good and she was crazy about the onion petals. We had to buy two sides of that! Son got his chicken tenders and I will say they were Not shipped in frozen. No way. They were flakey and tender. I got the turkey club. Very happy with that. It was perfectly sized I thought. Not some huge sandwich I would never finish. She said her crabcakes and soft shell crabs were locally sourced and fresh as well. So stop here and check it out. They have a nice menu. I haven't eaten the food so I am not gonna review it on that. I was exercising through the country snd ended up past the cemetery and right next to it was Cindy's kitchen. They charged me 2 dollars for a soda in a crappy Styrofoam cup. Not even plastic or thr tougher paper cups like they got at most fast food places. The outside makes it look like a gas station. The inside looks hideous and essentially looks like they're stuck in the past. It looks nothing like something from the 21st century. It is essentially for old white people. Who are essentially their main customer base. Idk how much money they make but it would be good if they invested that money into getting a better location and a much better interior for that restaurant. read more
