It's a small corner store but they sell subs and they're tasty. I had the chicken salad sub and can recommend. Wide variety of snacks and other sandwiches that can be ordered. My sister lives around the corner from Grocery Basket, and every time we come up from Virginia for a family visit, cheesesteak night from there is a must. It's perfectly made with white American cheese and the best hoagie-style roll. Seriously, the bread is perfection--it doesn't even get soggy when you reheat leftovers the next day, which says a lot. My only critique is that I ordered a side of fries and never received them, and the man who takes the to-go orders isn't the friendliest. He tends to make you feel like you're a bother when calling in an order. That said, if you're looking for a quick, comforting to-go meal, definitely give their cheesesteak a try! read more

We're new to the area and we like an occasional sub. We've tried many places listed on Yelp and the Grocery Basket came to mind today. The Italian sub that they made us today was definitely in the top 3 of the shops that we've tried. Tasty, full of meat, and just downright delicious! We'll be back! Cheesesteak next time. read more

Tried to order here for the first time, the guy who answered the phone took my order and was polite. I ordered a hot vegetarian sub. Sounds simple, right? Got a call back from a RUDE woman who said (although their menu states that they take special requests) said they never made a vegetable sub and didn't know what I was asking for. I repeated that I wanted friend veggies and cheese and she got more snippy stating that if I wanted cheese I wasn't getting a veggie sub. I then asked for a cheese sub with veggies. She told me it was a different price, I told her that was fine. But then asking what I wanted she got snippy once again. I told her just forget about that portion of the order (because at this point I'm convinced she's spitting in my food). So she hangs up the phone on me. How professional. I call back and ask for my order cancelled and she hangs up on me yet again. Now I'm a very patient, friendly person. So believe me when I said, this was unnecessary attitude coming from this mean person. Definitely, at the least shouldn't be taking customer orders. This little bodega makes subs and has the best cheesesteak sandwiches ever. Everything is fresh and the hot sandwiches are cooked to order. I ordered 1 bacon egg and cheese and 1 Scrapple egg and cheese. They gave me 2 bacon egg and cheese sandwiches. I call when I realized they made a mistake with the order. The lady on the phone told me to bring the sandwich back and she'll make sure I get the right sandwich and give me a credit for their mistake. Drove 15 mins to get back to the store.
