. The dining room is calm, clean, and casual, with pleasant background music that fills the space without demanding your attention. It is the kind of place where a conversation can actually happen without anyone leaning in and shouting. The food was very good. I had the oven roasted turkey with stuffing soup & sweet potato. The service is very good. I recommend this place to anyone that wants to eat in a quiet place with good food. read more

Great service! The staff are all friendly and personable, and easy with recommendations. The place is obviously a great hangout for locals and there is a wonderful energy with all the chatter and laughter happening. The food is always good. I enjoy the Counselor Burger. Very nice local diner a short hop off of route 1 in Magnolia just in the center of town. It doesn't look like much from outside but inside it's a nice restaurant. An old building but very clean and popular. Fast and friendly service. Prices are reasonable and the portions are good. We had the dinner specials of crab cake and scallops. You get soup or salad and 2 sides so that's a plus. The crab cake tasted good but could have had a little more seasoning. The scallops were large and tasty. Nice background country music too. read more

We are locals, stopped in for breakfast. Food was great server was awesome. Atmosphere is casual, quiet and homey.

Omlette was flat, should have been fluffier and home fries aren't good. The service, prices and atmosphere are great. With that being said I'll try a different type of food next time. read more

They have the best cream of crab soup in the Dover area! They only have it on the weekends, (fri & sat only) and I usually make a special trip to make sure that I get it. I also love their broiled crabcakes, excellent!! With the clover app if you spend $100 you get $10 off. read more

Average typical little place, food I got was alright, the atmosphere is nice. The waiters were very pleasant and great service. Overall it was a nice place that has changed a lot since my mom ate there back in '09. Bathrooms were a bit sketchy but other than that it's a nice place read more

We had delivery. It arrived hot and tasty. Large portions. I have enough left overs for dinner tonight. read more

I love this place! This is my favorite restaurant in all of Delaware. My boyfriend and I eat here at least once a month because the food is so amazing here. The service is always excellent no matter who our waiter or waitress is because they're always very attentive and are always checking to see if we need anything. The ambiance is also always very nice here and if you're looking for a quiet place to eat I highly recommend eating here because you will not be disappointed. My favorite things on the menu are the fried chicken and the turkey bacon wrap. The fried chicken is definitely the best I've ever eaten! If you're looking for great Coleslaw then you should definitely try the one they have here because it's really great too. But no matter what my boyfriend and I have ordered all of our food always tastes excellent! read more

Great little place. Very clean and conveniently located off Route 1. We stopped for a quick lunch on the way back from Ocean City, MD. I had a delicious rueben see ed open faced and it was tasty. Fries were nice and hot, but nothing special. My companion had a burger on a fresh roll and was happy with it. Great pitstop! We would go again. read more

I don't know what others do, but when I want something specific, I try to find any "hole in the wall" restaurant that might sell decent food; a diner. I have been looking forward to a breakfast sandwich, but have yet to get one. So today, I was perusing the internet and came across this place. It has 3.5 stars, which I knew meant it wasn't great, but after a moment I decided to bite the bullet, and try this plave. The foo I ordered was corned beef hash, breakfast sandwich, and hot cocoa. The food that I got was old and cold. The corned beef was almost burnt to a crisp, the sandwich was disassembled and everything was cold and nasty, their hash browns / country potatoes, are like semi-chunky mashed potatoes, but they are dry and nasty. When I got the food it a cold, and now the food is cold and tasted bad. I was truly upset about this meal, especially since I was looking for a diner. If anyone has any recommendations for diners that deliver to Magnolia, DE that would be nice to know. IN the meantime, I am back to the drawing board when it come to finding the right food, from the right place. I attached a pic, but I fixed it; everything was everywhere..l] read more

Moved to the area last Fall, I've had several breakfast, lunch and dinners here, as have my wife & son. It is not a fancy place, but clean and attentive service, the food is not fancy either but a cut above a diner with quality ingredients. There is a discernable skill level in the cooking & selections. Best of all is the value, it is reasonably priced. Give it a shot! Avoid the chains. read more

We had a really nice dinner. We ordered the chicken fingers, steak n cheese, steak n cheese wrap and the BLT. The restaurant has a local feel and vibe. The service was friendly snd speedy. read more

My family are in Delaware visiting my Aunt. I've eaten here in the past and the food has always been very good. But tonight we stopped in for dinner. Worst decision. I had spaghetti, my garlic bread was burnt almost couldn't eat it. The hamburger in the sauce was mushy, I didn't get the salad that was supposed to come with it. My daughter got chicken fingers. They were so hard that she had to rip them apart and pull the chicken out to eat it. The waitress never came back to check on us, and was not that friendly. She never asked if we needed refills, but could clearly see our drinks were getting very low. Very disappointed in the food, and the service. And what made it worse, the owner was the one doing the cooking!!!! Will never come back to this place again read more

I ordered a 12oz Sirloin and they brought me a burger patty. Not exaggerating. Not joking. That's what they consider a steak. Cannot make this up. An overcooked plain burger patty. Only reason it's not 1 star is cause it does seem like a nice place overall. Caring service, tho misguided their view on steak may be. read more

Home cooking. Great atmosphere! Very good service! To go orders also! Priced right!

Great diner, they make a great breakfast. My favorite place to get scrapple. Looking forward to trying everything on the menu.

This morning I took my brother to breakfast here and was introduced to a friendly, clean atmosphere with exuberant waitresses. We ordered coffee which was a robust, good tasting brew. Service was fast, food prompt as well as delicious with my brother ordering a sausage gravy special and I the Eggs Benedict which came with a healthy, thick slice of Canadian bacon and golden brown homefries. I recommend this place highly. When you can leave a restaurant, breathe in some crisp, cool air and say "wow, what a nice meal " chances are that a return visit will be in order! read more

The Magnolia is apparently the only place to eat when visiting Magnolia, DE, but that isn't so bad. I echo the comments of Alex Z that the food here is very good. Granted, I have only eaten here for breakfast so I've never tried any of their offerings other than the breakfast fare, but in that department I've had everything from your typical swiss cheese omelet to things a little more odd for a New Jersey boy like me such as scrapple. My most recent experience at the Magnolia consisted of the crab meat omelet special and it was absolutely loaded with meat. It was delicious. I know from looking at the Magnolia's menu that they have your regular full diner offerings. At some point in time I am going to have to try one of their post-breakfast offerings. Alex Z is raving about their Manhattan Clam Chowder in his review, so I guess I will have to give that a shot. I guess the gist of this review is that if you happen to be driving near Magnolia and need to stop and get something to eat, do not hesitate to check this place out. You'll learn what the locals already know that people who live in the middle of this little suburb of Dover, DE do know how to cook. read more

Great breakfast! Plenty of food, well prepared, and worth the price. Highly recommend! I had scrambled eggs, scrapple, home fries, toast, and coffee. I think I got about twice as many eggs as I should have. They were done, not runny, but not brown at all. The scrapple was done perfectly but hot as lava...be careful. The toast was well buttered, something I feel is uncommon in most restaurants. All in all a good breakfast with great service at a good price! read more

Our lunch experience was nice. I had the fajita wrap which didn't really have a lot of flavor. My wife had the burger club, and she felt the same way. The ingredients were very fresh, it was just lacking seasoning. Fries were delicious and crunchy. The service was very good, but wasn't friendly. This was going to be a three star review, but the fact that they offer a military and Law enforcement discount gives them an extra star in my book. read more

We usually go to a place in Harrington when we visit our grandchildren but decided to take our Airbnb host suggestion and check this place out. Grandchildren all agree it's our new favorite! Terrible food. We are locals here and would visit frequently for breakfast. My husband ordered cream of tomato soup with a sandwich and no lie it was a chunky mess. Brown soup with canned tomatoes. We have not been back since. I hope they get better management with standards of fresh food. Everything seems to be reheated as frozen. This restaurant used to be a roaring diner with great desserts. read more
